A Seattle weather/vibes-themed bar that plays metal music, with a friendly neighborhood watering hole feel. The bartenders are super welcoming and a lot of the patrons seem to be regulars. I stopped by alone before meeting up with friends at the High Dive for a show and had their house E9 beer on tap. The laid-back, casual vibe extends to the patio where people were hanging out. Typical Seattle dive bar and I mean that quite fondly. Drinks are strong and cheap, service friendly and there's usually a dog or two to pet. They have a super cool back room and a seating alcove with an abominable monster who roars and flashes his eyes every so often. They get packed on the weekends so I usually avoid but if you can do during the day or on a week night it'll be well worth the visit. read more

Nice fun bar - coming from the NE, I wouldn't call this a dice bar but more dive bar vibes. It's fairly clean and the decor is fun in each room. Drink prices were super reasonable and I enjoyed the heavy metal music. There are a few tables and places to sit to chat as well as enough room to stand. read more

What a delightful gem of a bar that matches the vibes of Fremont. I can't believe it took me this long to pop in but so glad I did. The dark bar has thematic rooms that you can explore and in talking to some of the regulars - there apparently was a downstairs portion that was super cool to hang out in that no longer exist as an option. Can they bring this back??? All in all, the service was amazing - great quirky vibes. Whether you're looking for a 2 dollar can of Oly or a fine cocktail Bar House will satisfy your thirst. Even though I don't fit in very well at this metal bar I sure am treated nicely every time I stop by. The front deck is great for posting up to watch the world walk by but my favorite part is the space room (not sure if that is the official name). The amount of nice people I've met back there while slugging by Oly's is too many to count. If you're a belly-up sort of person then maybe you can grab a stool and watch Frieburger (probably spelled that wrong) slang drinks while rocking out to great music. I am so happy I stumbled across this place. The vibes are immaculate. There was the general bar seating with cool ship decor on the ceilings. There was a black light room with fun galaxy prints splattered all over the walls. My favorite was a jungle room right next to the main door. It's a private room with cool jungle decor and sound effects. As for the cocktails, I ordered the Bananarama, which I really enjoyed! It was a sweet, creamy, banana flavored cocktail. read more

Drinks are cheap, ambiance is really nice, music selection and decorations are fantastic! One of the bartenders is super cool and friendly, was getting along with everyone and very attentive. Later in the night a different bartender came over and took my friend's drink away and told him he had to get out of there. We were all taken aback as we had just been talking and they just singled out our one friend. Even the other patrons sitting near us were surprised. It didn't help that my friend is black; I like to think and hope that wasn't the reason he was refused service by this new bartender, but these days who knows anymore. When first entering, the bartender was already in some kind of mood, which I assume to be from the holiday crowd and bustle. When asked to present our IDs, she initially checked Friend A's ID and held onto it for an extended period of time, then handed it back claiming she took longer "because you look very young." For reference, he is born in 1992. Afterwards, Friend B presented their Oregon ID and was promptly told to "get out" in a very aggressive and rude tone. When asked what the issue was, she claimed that she would not take his ID because it seemed fake. After suggesting that she use a stronger flashlight to reveal the holographic material present on all IDs, she held it up to a black light and again claimed that she "would not be taking this" and repeated her previous statement, telling us to "get out" in a more aggressive tone. To add onto her statement, she said "you're lucky I'm even giving this back to you." After trying to defuse the situation and attempting to ask why we were being removed, she repeatedly told us to get out. If TSA has taken has ID, given that he came FROM a flight, why would they not take it and treat us like that? If she had started by treating us with the minimum amount of respect necessary for human interaction, a different result may have happened. Unfortunately, she was extremely rude from the start and extremely aggressive to boot. If she simply spoke to us in a calmer, nicer tone, there would have been no problems. However she decided to disrespect us and repeatedly verbally abuse us. Please train your bartenders better and treat people kindly. Happy holidays. read more

Okay so I do appreciate the uniqueness of this bar, it is very Seattle ha. Although the intense heavy metal-ish music was not my cup of tea. Having a conversation is not the easiest of tasks, or seeing the person you're trying to chat with because it's also rather dark. The small forest room complete with fake campfire, trees and Big Foot is pretty cool though, not going to lie. Yes the Big Foot moves and roars on occasion so be prepared for that... I may or may not have jumped off my seat lol. I probably wouldn't come back but it's worth experiencing if you're into the above. Last April, I got to visit Seattle for the first time - and ever since then I haven't stopped thinking about Bar House!! My Seattle friends described it as a "Metal Bar". Maybe it was a quiet night or something, but nothing really seemed "Metal" about the place, but it was VERY cool. I didn't expect the stormy special effects, the ocean on the ceiling, and the boats. While inside the dimly lit front room, I really did feel like we were in a shack by the sea seeking refuge from a storm. The back "galaxy room" was also cool - but we really just hung out there waiting for the "forest room" to clear out - and when it did, we hung out there the rest of the night. While I don't drink alcohol, I visit bars often - whether I'm playing music or just hanging out with friends. I can't really give any feedback on the drinks, but my friends enjoyed them and said they were reasonably priced! I haven't come across another place with quite the same feel, atmosphere, and people as Bar House. This spot was incredibly chill and fun. I've mentioned Bar House to everybody that's asked about my Seattle trip, and I hold Bar House at the very top of my "coolest bars" list. I like this theme-y bar. Among other things, it features a black light space room, a forest room, a button which sends sound effects to another part of the bar. Drinks are reasonably priced & every time I've visited they've been blasting metal. Apparently they also have reasonably priced hot dogs (both vegan and carnivore) and nachos although I have yet to sample either of those delights. read more

This is a bar with four different themes in a single building! When you walk in, it looks like a bar straight out of a Western with a really cool porch for smoking. There's a bar and tables in this main area. The second cool room was a forest room, complete with branches, tree trunks, constellations on the ceiling and even pine scent on the fake campfire! There were nature noises playing too. The third room was a black lit space room with impressive illustrations and lots of tables. It was cool watching my rum and diet coke's straw glow in the black light. The fourth theme was in the bathroom- a deep sea submarine! There were submarine noises and a window to the sea right next to the toilet. The prices were great, and so were the bartenders. Make sure you stop here if you're in the area! read more

Honestly a pretty lame dive. I have no problem with heavy metal.. but when we went in tonight the guy bartending was a complete cry baby. We went into the private room and started dancing and jokingly screamed (inhale while singing the words) and the bartender asked us to stop making fun of his music. used to love this bar! the metal vibes are great and the front porch is legendary for people watching. however last night, a Saturday, the bouncer was on sort of power trip (you can see two other reviews from the same night saying as much!). We walked by with an empty cup of water in my hands from Add a Ball, and I was about to throw it away in the trash can next to Red Star Taco (also the only trash can on this stretch of sidewalk). However the bouncer assumed we were drinking in public (but let's be honest, what's the difference when the bar itself straddles a sidewalk and people are blowing cigarette smoke in the faces of passersby??) and barred us from entry without even looking us in the eyes. We attempted to explain his misperception but he'd already made up his mind. No disrespect to Bar House as a drinking establishment but I'd recommend waiting until they have some staff turnover to go. read more

These guys are anti-hydration and anti-waste disposal. Wouldn't let us into the bar because of an "open container" red solo cup we were carrying (and trying to throw out) which contained only water. Apparently, this was *not* a good look. However, I posit that the only "not good look" is the notion that all red solo cup carriers are drunk college kids coming from a frat house. Have never felt more uncomfortable during covid. The door guy put his hands on me after I followed a line of people in the entrance. I was just standing in line as he instructed me to and then everyone started walking in single file so I did as well. He walked right past everyone that had went in and put his hand on my shoulder and nudged me back while telling me the bar was at maximum capacity. I'm a 5'1" clearly female and very petite. I'm confused why he couldn't just verbally tell me the bar was at capacity? Why did he touch me? And why was I the only person told to leave and not even the people that walked in after I did? Interesting spot, located inside of what used to actually be a house a few decades back, conveniently located on the main drag in Fremont. I've been there twice, and it is actually a bit nutty. The first time I went the place was rocking with metal music all night long, while the second time was pretty much pop or r&b. There is a weird back room with neon paint and black lights, which is kinda cool, but can also make you a little woozy. Unfortunately there is only one bathroom for both the guys and the girls. This has to be more unfortunate for girls than guys, because we all know the majority of guys couldn't piss off a cliff without missing. Overall, I will go back for their cribbage tournaments or an occasion party like a birthday or something, but probably wouldn't make this my local haunt. Good goofy place with a character of its own. Unique interiors ... some may say it's tacky and over the top. But well when you are drunk everything feels awesome. Cocktails are loaded with alcohol. I've been to shows here a dozen times, they have a great setup downstairs and run a tight venue. The main bar upstairs is super chill, the bartenders are cool.
