I don't really understand the appeal of HuHot when you have Ghengis right across the street. There is always food all over the sticky floor, frozen, not fresh meat and have fun trying to get everything you want into one bowl. If you like noodle dishes, not only do you have to squeeze your frozen meat and veggies into this tiny bowl but now you also have to find space for the noodles. I see many opt for two bowls, but seeing as there are signs saying to only have one bowl, I'm guessing there is a reason for this. (If you care, my guess is it makes the line move slower because you have twice as much to cook for one person. This might be why I've waited in a line so long it went all the way into the dining room...) Speaking of waiting in line, unlike Ghengis, the option to sit at your table and have your plate brought to you is not an option at HuHot...you're forced to watch your cleverly crammed meal be overcooked. Similar concept as Genghis Grill, you put the raw meats and vegetables in a small bowl from the buffet line, add some sauce and take it to the dudes standing around the grill. They cook it, make a little show of it, put back in a bowl and you sit down and eat it with a bowl of rice. All u-want-to-eat for $12.99. Nothing really special. There's already two Genghis Grills in town and now this one. This town isn't big enough to support them all. Don't wait too long to try them. I'll give them another six months. read more

Came in on a Friday night, 630ish, place very understaffed, tables open and clean and still had to wait 10 minutes for them to clean another table. Meat line was not stocked, even after 20 minutes, floors dirty, and cooks dried out my food while cooking. You could tell staff is undertrained. No soup or salad was offered with meal either. We love to eat here. My kids absolutely love to pick their own ingredients and watch them cook it. The ingredients are always fresh and there are many sauce me to choose from. Mix your stir fry with the rice on the table and it's delicious! read more

Went for dinner. Not much of a selection compared to other like restaurants. All the meat was frozen and I don't mean frozen then defrosted, it was all frozen when you put it in your bowl. Service was mediocre at best. All in all very forgettable. read more

I'm a sucker for anything endless so I find myself here once or twice a year and I always regret it after. The food and sauces are a hot mess and it seems like all the staff have been trained to discourage you from eating more then one serving. Always good service and food. The salad was not to my liking and I asked to have the egg drop soup instead and the waitress was very nice about it and accommodating. Calamari is my fave to put in my mixture of rice noodles and variety of sauces to mimic a pad thai. The mussels were a great addition to the buffet. Very tasty. One of the people I was with followed the sauce mixture for pad thai and it ended up tasting like lotion bc the board near the sauces said to put the green curry in too. Not a fan of curry at huhot. Stick to the hoisin or khans favorite is a good go to. If you're feeling extra spicy, try the village sauce. read more

Tucked in the side of Lindale Mall, right off the food court, its easy to get to. Parking right outside. A good start. Then you get to the food and waiting around. You have to stand around the grill while they cook it instead of going back and sitting down... enjoying your drink.. talking. Nope. You get to stand in a circle with lots of noise and other people yakking... The meat just isn't that good. Its frozen and looks like it was shattered into chunks. Noodles are good, but then you get to the veggies, which again were just not that good looking or tasting. And the sauces.. while a nice selection, were really runny and didn't stick well to the food leaving patches of un-seasoned food. And there just wasn't much for atmosphere either. read more

I love huhot and its the best out of this type of dining in my opinion. The food is only as good as your knowledge of spices tho lol.. Its fun to experiment with different flavors. The only downside is that the bowls are really too small for the line.. I mean your expected to pick a meat, a noodle, some veggies and spice it up with some sauces and oils.. and with all that the it is hard to pile it all up in one bowl. The service is great and their Samurai smoothie is the bomb. Their cheese cake ragoons are great too!. This restaurant might be mediocre to some of the higher class but for myself and my circle its great!. read more

Decided to give this place a try. I've eaten at similar places before, and this one didn't disappoint. The food was excellent, service was outstanding, and the atmosphere was just right. The food was well cooked and tasted wonderful. We didn't ever have to wait for refills and our used plates were promptly removed. They played current pop music and the sound level wasn't intrusive. The cooking area is noisy, but that is expected. I'll definitely come again read more

Food was great and I like that they give you a free bowl of rice at your table and free soda refills, but when I went there the place only had one waiter who gave me and my date about one minute to look at the menu before taking them away from us and not asking us if we needed more time to decide on our drinks and appetizers. Luckily we didn't get appetizers because one plate is 14$ and since we expected it to be cheaper we didn't bring much money. Our waiter also failed to mention where we were suppose to go to get the food and how much it cost. Great food and drinks but had horrible service and was too expensive. Would recommend if you are rich and can deal with an overworked waiter. read more

Are you serious? I went here yesterday night with my family and had one of the worst experiences ever. I had been putting off eating here as I usually dine at Genghis Grill, which is basically the same thing, or so I thought. We sat down and got our bowls, and were happy to hear it was unlimited trips, GG has this option, but it costs more. I soon realized why it was unlimited trips. The bowls had to contain our noodles as well as the other ingredients. I'd say it took me 3 trips up to get what I'd get in a single dinner at Genghis Grill. This isn't even what bothered me. First, I had to wait in line for my dinner. The server doesn't bring you your food, you have to wait for it. In my 3 trips up i probably spent 20 minutes standing there when I could have been sitting with my family. Also, they didn't seperate my food like GG does from other peoples food. My food ended up tasting like the 2 peoples next to mine, and they used the same spatulas for everyones food. What if I don't like spicy food or have an allergy? I could go on forever about the service or lack thereof, but I won't. All in all, I had horrible experience there, which has been the same for most of my friends who have ate there. I guess I'll be going back to Genghis Grill. At least until they build a BD's around here. read more

I was very excited about my first trip to the hu-hot today when we got here I was suprised by the number of people who were here first thing I noticed was when we ordered our waters I got a chipped glass which was not great but we went up to get our food and I had trouble finding what I wanted but that one was on me so I put my food up to the table for them to cook it the chef was very nice and asked about my day I say I was having a good and said thank you when they gave me my food my noodles were EXTREMELY under cooked and there were no seafood options all in all I think this place was terrible and I will not be coming back read more

I love this particular hu-hot because of their attentive staff, cleanliness, and a great manager that has been there since the beginning and is always on the move helping out and keeping the guests happy. The food is the same as any hu-hot and your meal is what you make it, and that's the best part! I have never had under cooked or overcooked food and have never had a bad experience at this particular hu-hot, while Corralville is another story on both those things. The price for dinner is kinda high for someone that fills up fast but lunch is a great price at around $8 and runs until 4pm which is great for a late sleeper like me. They have a carry out option too which is 2 bowls and a bowl of rice and if I do it right I can eat the carry out for 2 or more meals. The ONLY downfall to hu-hots in general is that it's buffet style and you can't take anything with you if you dine in which seems like such a waste, other then that though I love this restaurant and the only reason for not giving 5 stars is due to the wastefulness of not being able to take any uneaten portions with you. read more

Stay away! I went to this restaurant and the food was not cooked properly. I complained to the head office and got a free dinner. That dinner was cooked correctly. I went their 2 more times and the food was ethier cold or not cooked properly. I had to put the uncooked chicken to the side complained again and have never went back. All I need is to get sick from under cooked food. read more

To all you people saying you don't want noodles in the same bowl with your other things, or that the bowls are too small, I hope you are aware that you can use MORE THAN ONE BOWL when you go up. I have gone there many times since moving up here and the wait staff is friendly and attentitive, having already memorized what my boyfriend and I want to drink every time we're there. We tend to go in large groups and the chefs are always nice and like to joke with us. Even on busy days there has never been any more than a six or seven minute wait. My only nitpick is the seafood selection, but I'm from Seattle and I know I shouldn't expect to be spoiled everywhere. read more
