A bowl of miso soup to start was flawless -- warm, balanced and just what it should be. My daughter ordered 8 pieces of Tuna nigiri plus 3 pieces of Yellowfin tuna nigiri; she insisted the fish tasted extremely fresh and the rice was cooked to perfection. I sampled a Fire Fighter roll and a Tiger roll. The Fire Fighter roll belongs in my personal top five: an ideal contrast of crunchy texture and silky raw fish, lifted by bold, layered sauces that deliver both flavor and heat. The Tiger roll was equally impressive -- bright, fresh-tasting and finished with a spicy mayo that was spot-on. Service was attentive and genuinely helpful, the dining room and bathrooms were very clean, and the ambiance fit the meal perfectly. All told, Oyama is a standout stop in Cedar Rapids -- we'll definitely be back.

If you like sushi, it's a good value for your money. I'd definitely go again.

The menu is huge but they weren't serving many items yet. The inside decor was very modern and the tables had built in warmers for the Korean hot pot. We opted for sushi.
