Phantastic Pho here in Iowa! Outstanding service and a relaxed atmosphere at Mai Pho House. The Pho Tai Nam Bo Vien was loaded with steak, brisket, and meatball along with the noodles and tasty broth. The Bun Bo Vien was a little spicier than anticipated but still a great combo of steak, meatball, pork, and vermicelli noodles. The dumpling appetizers were ordered in the crispy version, and they were fantastic as well... nothing negative to say about the whole experience. about a year ago, we went to the Pho House. We really enjoyed it. We decided to go back remembering how good it was. When we were seated, we looked in the condiment containers and salt were filthy. Coated with grease/filth. Things were dirty. Which if it's dirty at your table, imagine the kitchen. So I decided to get up and go to another table to get a salt shaker totally the same all the condiments at every table we looked at were just disgusting. To me, that's a sure sign that if they don't have time to do their side work that you do see imagine what you don't see. I was here on business lunch last week. My partner in crime was hesitant to try Vietnamese food. I am glad my persuasion worked and we both ended up loving our meal. My vegan Pho was DELICIOUS, consistent of truly fresh ingredients. My partner's Pho do Bien was equally good. The service was wonderful and attentive without being overwhelming. From the outside it looks like just another strip center restaurant, I was happily mistaken. The food was fresh fast and absolutely delicious. I am lucky to provide the first review. After entering the restaurant, I was happily greeted by a hostess, who sat me immediately. As it was my first time, I asked for a few recommendations, which she happily provided. The shrimp dumplings were delicate and perfectly cooked. I find that it's easy for dumplings to come out slightly slimy and disgusting, but these were absolutely on point. The sauce wasn't too spicy and was a great complement. I also ordered the number 19 which was packed with flavor. Overall, if you're looking for a good place for lunch or dinner and give this one a 10 out of 10 highly recommend. read more

We were thrilled to find a good Asian restaurant! The food was great! We ordered the Spring Rolls (fresh mixed lettuce with shrimp and pork served with peanut sauce) to start. Then we ordered #13 eye round steak, well done brisket, tendon, and beef meat balls with rice noodles; and #23 eye round steak, well done brisket, and beef meat balls with rice noodles. With the noodles, they brought bean sprouts, mint, lime, and jalapeños. Everything was fresh. The noodles were hot, delicious, and tasty. The service was friendly and the food was served quickly.
