Grabbed sushi to go as we drove through town and loved it! The restaurant is super cute and clean.

Placed an order for pick up and on arrival they had no record of the order even though they had given us a total. Previous visits service has been slow and disjointed. Seems that the service is getting worse and if it wasn't the only sushi place in Solon we'd definitely go somewhere else. read more

Beautiful inside and very modern. Doesn't feel like your typical sushi restaurant. The service was great even though she was new. Our food came out super fast and was absolutely delicious. Love this sushi restaurant. They use top quality ingredients and it shows. Crab rangoons and EVERY roll I've had here is amazing.

There is a small group of my friends & I that have been trying new Sushi places & this was next on our list. We were excited to try it due to us hearing positive things about it. So 2 of us get there first and are seated promptly while we wait for the last person. The decor of the place is nice, clean, and open. I actually loved it. When our other person arrived we got our drink orders, found out it was "wine Wednesday" so one of us ordered a glass. The server was not very personable unfortunately throughout the meal. That puts a damper on an experience. We ordered our appetizers...wings, Rangoons, and egg rolls. Wings were actually really good! Egg rolls, we all did not know what to think of those. Rangoons, were good. We all ordered Specialty Rolls. Mine was the Dragon Roll. Unfortunately with their menu, most had Spicy Mayo on their rolls or something spicy. The individual in our group ordered another glass of wine during our meal and it never came. So by the end of the meal when the server came by, she told him he did not need to bring it and you could tell he forgot but acted like it wasn't a big deal and kept walking. We had an early dinner Sunday evening around 4pm with our 9 month old. Upon entering we were greeted and sat immediately. The decor of the restaurant is lovely. I could have sat there all day. You can tell it's a family run restaurant which was lovely to see! Our waiter was super friendly and gave us his favorite dishes/sushi rolls. They have special menu that changes. I got a sake mule drink special. Fabulous! Perfect for cooling down with the hot weather we've been having. We went with calamari for an appetizer. We loved it! Now this isn't your Italian style calamari so don't expect that. Its a tempura style with sweet chili dipping sauce. It was absolutely delicious. For rolls we ordered: sumo 15, snake roll, main st 13, fire dragon, spicy tuna and Godzilla. We enjoyed every roll. The fish was fresh not fishy. We were members of the clean plate club. Lol For my son we ordered the chicken teriyaki. It comes as a bento box which gave us 3 "sides". We did crab rangoon, fries and a gyoza. Baby ate that chickie n rice up! We ate the other sides and enjoyed them. Now the bonus: when I went to use the ladies room I was genuinely shocked by how clean and neat it was. They also offer feminine products just in case Aunt Flo decides to show up. I did not expect that. We will 100% go back and cannot wait to experience more of their menu! read more

The room was not inviting but I figured it was a newer restaurant. Our service was fine. We order mules, which were middle tier for me. I ordered raw sushi rolls and my friend ordered cooked sushi rolls, but both of our tummies hurt afterwards. We talked to some friends and it turns out they've also had upset tummies after eating here. I would not recommend this place. read more

When you have a sushi craving Hyvee just doesn't satisfy and a trip to Iowa City on a game day is something we avoid if we can. I'm grateful there are now more options outside of Iowa City. We stopped by Uncle Sang for dinner on a date night and really enjoyed it. We share both sushi and sashimi both of which hit our seafood craving. Our sashimi plate had a to die for melt in your mouth scallop that I still dream about. Uncle Sang's is worth checking out if you enjoy sushi and we look forward to checking out their ramen this winter. read more

Solon sushi! Have hoped for this for years. Finally great sushi and pan-Asian kitchen half a block away from Big Grove (best brewery restaurant in the state). Have now been there at least 6 times and have not been disappointed by anything. Tried Almost every Specialty roll on the menu, a few we love but not a bad one in the bunch. Make sure and try a different one every visit to find your favs. Plus excellent appetizers tried most all of them also. We always get an Asian dinner along with several rolls. The pan-asian dinners are a wonderful variety. I like the full bar with some amazing drinks and saki. Overall it's a top notch Asian restaurant choice right in the heart of Solon! read more

Tried the Pho as my very finicky friend, Mookie shared that lead Chef Sang was the "real deal". I've had bad, good and very good Pho (it's all in the broth". This broth was "OMG" excellent. Todays broth was started yesterday and simmered for hours. The thin sliced ribeye beef in the pho... spot on tender. Mookie had Salmon Bento and the fish was cooked to "just right"... luscious, buttery. All veg was brilliantly fresh. Thin sliced This place is easily WORTH the trip from IC, Coralville or CR. I almost don't want to write a review and keep this place all to myself. However, this place needs all the celebration it deserves. We moved to Solon this summer. We had several sushi places we loved in Ohio so we decided to try Uncle Sang. We were so pleasantly surprised at the quality and overall value of this place. They have very fresh ingredients as well as unique rolls and other dishes besides sushi. The proportions are generous and prices reasonable (presentation was also amazing) Caleb, the waiter, was very knowledgeable and helped us out with all the questions we had for him. We truly enjoyed our visit and look forward to our next visit. Highly recommend!! read more

Had another excellent experience here with the family last night. We had the Pho Viet, Vietnamese ramen, wagyu app, a few specialty rolls and some cocktails. The old fashioned was served from a carafe billowing with aromatic smoke. Fun to watch and added a delicious, smoky flavor to every sip. Staff were all welcoming and professional. Beautiful, spotless dining space. The food did not disappoint - rich broths with incredible flavor and enough for lunch the next day. Hit the spot like nothing else on a cold winter night. The food was delicious and the staff was very nice and attentive! They started you off with edamame for the table which is a great kick off. My friend and I ordered crab rangoons (always a classic and I love that it was a hefty amount of filling in each one). We shared the Soup Cua which is on the featured menu it is a chicken soup with veggies, chicken, quail eggs, crab meat, and cilantro; my goodness this is a perfect fall soup we both loved it! Then we shared shrimp tempera roll, cubby roll, and spider roll; all we good, my favorite was the cubby roll. This place was lovely and I will definitely be coming back! read more

Sushi? In Solon? Uncle Sangs is 3.7 miles from my house and though they have been open for 5 months my family and I just made our first visit it will not be our last. This place was awesome. We arrived in the middle of a rush(they were slammed and 2 servers missed their shifts. They continued to push through efficiently as soon as a table was vacated it was cleaned and seated. The wait for a table was 15-20 we had edamame at the bar and watched them work. The staff and the owner were bussing and wiping tables while being attentive to the needs of those waiting. We ordered the spartan boat and several other rolls, the pho and spring roll.(we have 2 high school boys). From start to finish the food was excellent Sushi and Sashimi were fresh and well prepared the maki was well executed and delicious the fresh flavors of the spring rolls left us wanting more.. What an incredible place it is great to have another non burger option in Solon. The ambiance was warm and welcoming though that isn't usually my focus. Sorry to go on and on but I regret not going here sooner and can't wait to go back. A real gem. read more

We had dinner here during the soft opening, so full menu was not yet available. It did not disappoint. Something for everyone, even on this early menu. Spring rolls are light and delicious, wings are very tasty. Pho was amazing and absolutely worth the drive from Iowa City. Rolls were beautiful with many to choose from. Margarita was the perfect accompaniment - house made, refined presentation. Staff were all extremely friendly and welcoming. Gorgeous indoor space with a lovely outdoor deck in the back.
