Private room upstairs is quite nice to have your own space and service. Package price is a bit steep. Drink menu is also different from downstairs which has less cocktail choice.

Side dishes were all actually pretty decent especially the japchae which is usually not a dish I feel is anything that special but was very good and flavorful here Strawberry cocktail - kinda watery 1.5/5 Egg soufflé - it's much thicker and eggier here. I personally liked it but my fiance thought a little too eggy 3/5 Cold noodle spicy - not very memorable 2.5/5 Prime package - everything was pretty good but also slightly chewier than I would want it to be and didn't taste any significantly different than other places that serve these type of cuts 3.25/5 Boseong green tea - not too flavorful and a little on the grainier side 1.75/5

Howoo Korean BBQ was such a great experience. The space is massive and surprisingly elegant for a Korean BBQ spot. I was a little worried at first since there aren't visible overhead chimneys above the grills, I fully expected to leave smelling like BBQ for the rest of the day. But they have a super sophisticated ventilation system, and you genuinely can't tell at all. They offer set packages, which might be slightly pricier than other places, but still very reasonable considering the quality and the amount of meat and sides you get. They also vary in price wether you want to get fancier cuts of meat. Personally, we got the basic one and it was top notch! We were a table of 6 and got seated in a more reserved area. We also got there early, so the staff was incredibly attentive and it almost felt like a VIP experience. The service was impeccable, they cook for you and guide you through which cuts go best with which sauces. Overall the food was amazing, and we left completely stuffed and very happy. Definitely a spot I'd come back to.

If you want quality KBBQ and don't mind paying a little extra for it, this is a great spot. We went for the premium package for 4 people. It was more than enough food. It was nice to have someone else cooking for you and it was made perfectly. The meat melted in your mouth. The sauces and sides were great. I loved the tofu, the cold noodles weren't my thing but our group liked it. The egg souffle was yummy. They also have some good cocktails. The matcha soft serve at the end was a perfect way to finish the meal. It's well ventilated and I did not come out smelling like beef which is always a plus but they do have a coat check available if needed. Definitely make reservations and get there early or stay after to check out their cocktail bar downstairs.

Our server S was incredibly meticulous, thoughtful, and helpful. She was supporting three other tables as well as our own. She cooked each set of meat perfectly. None of the meats were overcooked or burnt. The food was incredible as always! The duo elite package is the way to go! Love the space and layout of the restaurant.

Dipping sauce for your meats. (Wasabi salt was my fave)

Amazing food for a great price. Don't think the prefix menu would be a better deal. We did the à la carte and got to try a bunch of other options for nearly the same price. We did not feel like we missed out. Fave was the ribeye with fresh rosemary, the kimchi (so epic), and the mustard greens. The egg souffle dish was perfectly smooth and fluffy. Had a great time during my NY trip. Give them a try. It gets busy but doesn't feel crowded. Also epic bar downstairs to hang in while you wait for your table!

The service is impeccable here, everything is streamlined. We were in a bit of a rush (my bad, I was late) and had to finish the meal in an hour. We asked our server if it's possible, and she said yes immediately. Everything serving our table knew about this and they tried their best to serve us everything within the time frame. It's really impressive and we left very full and very happy.

Do not get the kimchi martini - I REPEAT DO NOT GET THE WHITE KIMCHI MARTINI! Otherwise, the food was really really good and the meat was perfect. Honestly, my favorite part was the cold buckwheat noodles and the fermented soy bean soup. I practically licked the bowls clean. In addition, the rice was super unique - there were various grains and beans within which gave it a very nutty and savory, yet sweet taste. The place is super chic, service was good too! Would return.

Had super high expectations coming here since it's a sister restaurant of Nubiani, which I loved. The food was basically the same, if I were blind folded I wouldn't be able to tell which restaurant was which. The service here was considerably worse than Nubiani though. Maybe kt was busy but I still wasn't super happy with the service. The guy serving us didn't seem welcoming and had a grumpy face/always rushing from table to table. Other than that, still a good meal!

My partner and I came here for a special dinner and we had a wonderful time! We had a table immediately due to our reservation, and the workers are all so nice. The space is large with lots of seating. Low lighting and nice mood. We got the Duo set, and it was so generous! With all the banchans and side dishes, we were already satisfied before getting into the delicious meats! Howoo is definitely high quality, and my favorite item was definitely their kimchi! I would highly recommend for a nice night out.

I love the food and ambiance here! We had one of the private rooms upstair for a party of 10 - I don't think they charge extra for this which is rare for Manhattan! However, the service was a bit slow and they did mess up our drink orders a few times. We were a large party with many different drink orders, so I get it - no biggie for us. We chose one of the prefix menus and everything was delicious. The ban chans and egg souffle was done perfectly. The meat was tender and juicy. I have no complaints! However, I do prefer the cold noodles over the kettle pot rice for the second round. It adds a refreshing touch to the meal. They also have a seafood & cocktail bar downstairs called Musaek. We were early and got a drink downstairs while waiting for the rest of our party. Great happy hour options! Our entire party also came back after dinner. It was a fun night!

Personally this bbq place has become my new favorite in Ktown! It's super spacious (although I feel like they don't really utilize all of it) and the staff is really knowledgeable with the cuts of meat and give you recommendations on how to eat each cut! The quality of the meat is great and I will say I went during lunch and their prices were pretty reasonable for the quality and all the side dishes you get. Be prepared to be super full at the end of your meal! They give you a whole rice pot with a soup and you can also opt for the Korean cold noodles which are a must for kbbq! The vibes are definitely fancy but you don't have to dress up to the nines to get in. I also went for lunch so maybe it's different but their cocktails are pretty unique too! I highly recommend this place!

This was a weirdly disappointing experience and I never had KBBQ like this. First, the food was phenomenal. We got the elite package for 6 as we were 5 people and it was plenty of food. Some cuts I liked better than others but the quality was there. Now, the disappointing part was the pacing and inattentive service. It took about 30 min for any ban chan to come out and because we were so hungry, we kept on eating the banchan. My mother kept asking for lemons and it took about 6 different times to get lemon in her water. They give one egg souffle for 6 people, which is ridiculous given that the smaller packages for less people also get one. They should've given us at least a second one IF we are paying for a 6 person package. When you pay for a package for more people, you expect to get more. If we wanted extra, we would have to pay. It took another 30 minutes for the meat to come out, which is a long time after banchan sitting there. I was so hungry and didn't want to fill up on banchan. Everything was painfully slow, each time they cooked the meat there was always a huge break in between. We asked when the pot rice/stew and cold noodles were coming out and they said towards the end. When it said second round on the menu, I didn't think it meant the end??? People eat rice and cold noodles during the meat course but why was this given at the end?? The pacing was so terrible and super slow. At the end, they pushed the check on us before the ice cream, forgot it was my brother's birthday, then finally acknowledged when we noticed others getting birthday items. The mest was good but other KBBQ places can provide just as good meat with side dishes DURING THE MEAL, not after.

I was warmly greeted by the gentleman at the door (5 service there), which set a great first impression. However, as soon as I walked downstairs, it felt like the space had lost its speakeasy vibe. I was seated right near the stairs and could feel cold air from outside every time the door opened, which made the experience uncomfortable. I was also surprised to see how much the cocktail menu had been reduced. When I asked about it, the response was that "the place changed a lot." That's fair -- places evolve -- but instead of highlighting the improvements or new strengths, the explanation focused negatively on what the bar used to be. As someone who really enjoyed the former version, that wasn't reassuring. Unfortunately, the drinks themselves didn't make up for it. One of the two cocktails was simply not good. No one came back to check on the drinks, and when I asked for the check after about 20 minutes, there was no acknowledgment that I had barely touched mine or any inquiry about my experience. Overall, a place I once enjoyed and recommended now feels more like a standard dive bar where " Mixologist " were replaced by bartender and were fun cool looking and tasty drinks were replaced by " less complex cocktail ", lacking the warmth and attention to detail that once made it special.

Easy to find if you know what you're looking for, if you arrive right at 5pm on a cold weeknight in the winter, you'll easily find a table or seat at the bar. Very cute space, cozy like everyone says, but nothing mind blowing. Music is moderately loud. The menu in early February still included their winter holiday cocktails. I was more interested in the apple sage house-made fermented soda, and it was pretty good-large glass, flavorful and not too sweet. My friend enjoyed her pomegranate version. The space started to fill up at around 5:30. Service was polite when you could get it, but generally very inattentive, even before it got busy. It honestly didn't feel too different from anu other very nice NYC bar, in terms of menu selection, prices, ambiance and service. Maybe that's standard for NYC speakeasies, but the places I frequented in other cities were more fun and felt more worth the price. I'll still give another NYC spot a try, but not coming back to Thyme.

We started with half a dozen oysters, which were fresh, briny, and exactly what you want with serious cocktails. Crisp, clean, gone in about three minutes. For drinks, we ordered the Smoke Show and the King Tusk. The Smoke Show was beautifully balanced. The Grey Goose vodka and Dolin Dry gave it that classic martini backbone, but the fino sherry and brine added depth. The smoked olive oil and blue cheese olive brought just enough savory drama without overpowering the glass. It was complex but not fussy. The King Tusk leaned more aromatic and layered. The vermouths gave it richness, while the Buddha's Hand and osmanthus flower added subtle citrus and floral notes that lingered in a really elegant way. It felt like a cocktail designed to be savored slowly. The music fit the mood perfectly, not too loud, just enough to give the room energy without killing conversation.
