This Korean BBQ spot was easily one of my favorite meals from my NYC trip! From the quality of the meats to the service and ambiance, I really enjoyed the whole experience. We ordered the Nubiani Beef Large Package, which came with a great variety of cuts including ribeye, skirt steak, short ribs, and more. We originally wanted to upgrade to the wagyu set, but unfortunately they were sold out for the night. If you're specifically coming for the wagyu, I would definitely recommend getting there a little earlier! The large package was still plenty of food, and my favorite cuts were the skirt steak and short ribs. Both were so tender, juicy, and flavorful. We also ordered the squid and beef pancake, grilled wagyu persimmon salad, hamachi tartare, steamed egg, and abalone kettle hot pot rice. The steamed egg was honestly one of the best I've ever had. It was unbelievably light and fluffy and practically melted in my mouth! I also really enjoyed the hamachi tartare, which tasted super fresh and paired perfectly with the crispy nori. The banchan were great too, especially the kimchi and marinated onions, which paired really well with all the meats. We also received complimentary kimchi stew during the meal. One thing I really appreciated was that the staff cooked all of the meat for us, so we could just sit back and enjoy everything without having to worry about cooking it ourselves. We were seated in our own little nook, which made the experience feel cozy and a little more intimate. To end the meal, they surprised us with complimentary ice cream, which was the perfect sweet treat after all that BBQ. Overall, I had such a great experience here and would absolutely come back the next time I'm in NYC!
I LOVE NUBIANI!!! this location is actually nicer than the ktown location probably cuz it's less busy in the area and newer but i liked it better here! the seating and lighting feels luxe and upscale. beef small package is a perfect amount of food for 3. the meat is perfect they cook it for you and they cook it to perfection each of the meats was juicy and not too tough. my favorite was probably the seasoned short rib it was perfectly seasoned a little sweet and salty soo yummy the beef small package comes with a complementary stew, banchan, and steamed egg. the stew is too salty no matter which one you get. probably the worst part of the meal imo. the banchan is super standard but the yam side dish was particularly delicious it was sweet and creamy it kinda felt like a dessert. everything was super fresh. the steamed egg was super bouncy and cooked perfectly like look at the dome in the photo. at the end of the meal we got a complimentary soft serve which was just a vanilla soft serve with preserved yuzu. i think this combo is great the ice cream was super creamy and the yuzu was sweet and sour so goooddd. great service as always they take care of you from start to finish. better than cote imo (and more affordable!) nubiani deserves the michelin star over them :p
It was the perfect place for someone trying Korean food for the first time; away from the crowds of K-Town, with excellent-quality meats, delicious side dishes, and an atmosphere that actually lets you carry on a conversation. My friend from Lithuania absolutely devoured everything. The meal was phenomenal; juicy, tender, sweet, tangy, and filled with those uniquely Korean flavors that are hard to describe but impossible to forget. All around, it was a fantastic experience. Give it a try.
Big fan of the ktown location and I'm so excited that they have one on 58th Street. It's two floors and has a lot of seating. I still recommend making a reservation as it's popular. I got the pork set for 2 and added on every other pork cut that wasn't included so we would have enough to feed 4 people. The pork is just as good as the beef. Our favorite was the marinated pork, which was extremely tender and packed full of flavor. We also got the hamachi tartare, which was so good and fun to make handrolls with. The banchan continues to be fire and I love how they provide my favorite banchan -- the steamed egg-- every meat dish goes so well with their scallion salad. Bring cash for that cash discount!
Came here after hearing that it was the best kbbq experience that my friends have ever had and I definitely agree. The restaurant interior is very sleek, and everything about it was luxurious from the dim lighting to the marble tables. The service was super friendly and attentive to our table, even though it was a more secluded booth. The server ran us through the menu and gave us recommendations, and we went with the Nubiani package, which included all of their popular meats, including: Beef Rib Eye, Beef Rib Finger, Beef Boneless Short Ribs, Pork Belly, and Pork Seasoned Shoulder Butt. It also came with mushrooms, squash, and serrano peppers to cook on the grill. We also got 6 different side dishes, which were all delicious. I especially loved the tomato with basil and sesame sauce. I had never had this flavor combination and it was so good I got two more refills. I also liked how fresh the kimchi was and the steamed egg was perfectly fluffy and seasoned. All the meats were perfectly cooked by the waitress and she even cut up the meat for us as she presented each one. The meat was extremely tender and the grilled vegetables really leveled up the meal for me. They also had a complimentary dessert at the end which was a vanilla soft serve with orange marmalade and it was divine. This meal was one of the best that I've had in NYC and though the priced were steep I think the experience was worth every cent.
The dinning experience at Nubiani is an easy one to rate. Firstly, when you make a reservation, be sure to check the location. There are two different locations so be sure to reserve the one you want to dine in. We made a reservation via Resy and was lucky enough to get table within a few hours. Food was really delicious. We ordered the Beef & Pork combo and just as expected in a proper Korean BBQ restaurant, the table was quickly filled with banchans (small side dishes) enough to get us truly full. Quality of the meat felt very fresh, the servers were really gracious to get the meat temperature exactly the way we requested. Appreciate the layout as we were able to have some privacy in the booth we sat in. Modern Korean KBBQ seems to be the theme.
Came here with friends and we ordered the Nubiani package which is a combination of beef and pork. The quality of their meats is always so good and for 3 people it was a lot of food. We also ordered the cold buckwheat noodle dish on the side as well and it was definitely a lot of food. At the end they also give you a soft serve and it's so good. The staff cook the meat for you and also make sure to plate the meat so it doesn't overcook on the grill. The pacing can feel a little fast though because they do make sure you leave in time for their next reservation. It's definitely is a busy place even though the midtown location is much bigger. The ambiance is nice though since it's a newer location and it's really clean and spacious
We celebrated my son's birthday at Nubiani Midtown East in a private room with 11 guests. Our bill was over $1,000, and we left a 25% tip. Unfortunately, what should have been a memorable celebration ended with us feeling rushed and extremely disappointed by the service. Toward the end of dinner, three bottles of wine were served at approximately 10:45 p.m. Shortly afterward, staff began pressuring us to leave, even though we had not had a reasonable opportunity to finish the wine they had just served. The most upsetting moment came during my son's birthday speech. At approximately 10:58 p.m., while he was speaking to our family and guests, our server interrupted him and told us, "You have to leave now, we're closing." When my daughter said that interrupting a birthday toast in that manner was extremely rude, the response was defensive rather than apologetic. What made the situation even more frustrating was what happened afterward. When I contacted management, I was initially given an account of the evening based on what the staff had reported that did not match what we experienced. Fortunately, I had a time-stamped video showing exactly when my son's speech was interrupted and when we were being told to leave. The video confirmed that this happened before the stated closing time and supported our account of being rushed out. There were other service issues as well. It was sometimes difficult to get the server's attention, the table had not been properly cleared before dessert, and prices were repeatedly mentioned in front of our guests even after I specifically asked that this stop. We also had a guest with a gluten allergy, and several dishes did not have gluten-free alternatives. For a restaurant at this price point, particularly for a private celebration, I expected more thoughtful accommodation for dietary restrictions. Since our experience, I have also read other customer reviews describing similar concerns about feeling rushed or unwelcome toward the end of the evening. That was particularly disappointing to see, because it suggests our experience may not have been an isolated one. After further communication, the General Manager eventually sent a much more sincere response acknowledging that we should not have felt rushed, that my son's birthday toast should not have been interrupted, that the response to my daughter should have been handled more professionally, and that serving wine shortly before asking us to leave was inconsistent. I appreciated that acknowledgment. However, it came only after we had to provide evidence of what actually occurred, and unfortunately it cannot change how an important family celebration ended. The food itself was good, but hospitality is a major part of choosing a restaurant for a special occasion. Based on our experience, I would hesitate to recommend this location for an important celebration where attentive and gracious service matters.
Nubiani will always be my #1 kbbq spot in my. and this spot hits just the same as the ktown location, but in a much larger and nicer space. We got the hamachi crudo, large beef set, and pork jowl for a group of 6 and it was the perfect amount of food. The meat is so tender and I love all the banchan. The service is also excellent! The servers are constantly refilling your banchan throughout the duration of the meal. It was my first time trying the hamachi crudo and it was also extremely delicious, with nice textures and flavors.
Omg Nubiani was so good. Every bite of meat was delicious. I wish I got more. All the banchan was also delicious. The seafood pancake was also delicious (and huge). Sensing a pattern? Yes because everything was delicious. This location is a little out of the way (a good walk from the subway) but it's HUGE. It's two floors and you just keep walking and walking. Enjoyed the ambience as well.
literally no misses! my best kbbq experience so far. the small set was enough to feed 3 but we did also get some cold noodles, that is before we realized they give you free ice cream with tangerine puree for dessert! all the meat was super tender and juicy, likely also bc the staff cook everything for you and they def know what they're doing. short ribs fave but all were solid. however, i think the mvp was the refillable banchans, special shoutout to steamed egg and sweet potato puree!! kimchi stew was just aight for me also 10% cash discount! if you're looking for an upscale kbbq spot in nyc, i think this was more worth than cote and also less stressful to get a res for
One thing Nubiani has over other KBBQ spots is the quality of meat. It is more expensive, but it is worth it! The banchan is of course complimentary and you can always ask for more. The steamed egg is also complimentary, so we had two of those. The server comes and cooks the food for you so you don't have to do much. I will definitely be back when I want my KBBQ fix!
We made reservations at 6:45pm for dinner. When we entered, Nubiani has a modern feel. It has a dark interior with many rounded booths. The waiters here are very attentive, so service was top notch. We ordered the large beef package for 4 people, japchae, hamachi tartare, and a beef and squid pancake. The beef was the star of our dinner! It tasted tender and flavorful, you could tell the quality was excellent. The waiter cooked all the meat for us to perfection which was medium rare. It was bomb! Definitely give this restaurant a try if you love good quality meat. The side dishes and entrees were good too, but I wished the pancakes were crunchy on the outside like typical Korean pancakes. This is my second time at Nubiani and it was just as good as the first. My party of two and I were 20 min late to our reservation and were still able to eat and be out of the restaurant in 60 min (90 min for 2-3ppl). The staff were very friendly and fast at cooking the food, and polite about keeping us within the time limit. The two of us ordered the small beef package and an à la carte pork jowl and it was more than enough food. We left 1/2 the pork jowl and 1/2 the marinated short ribs left (I was so sad because I really loved the marinated short ribs but didn't have enough room in my stomach for it). I really enjoyed the banchan the complimentary steamed egg and ice cream were such treats!! read more
8.5/10 It's almost a five-star experience, but given the price ($79 per person after tax and tip), I'd give it four stars. Our party of three ordered one small beef package and the beef tartare, and we left very satisfied and full. The beef was fresh, and the staff helped us grill it to the perfect texture. There was also enough variety to balance out the richness--shout-out to the egg stew and yuzu ice cream! The service was nice overall, although we had a reservation for 6:30 and still had to wait about 5-10 minutes for our table to be ready. The atmosphere was quiet and refined, and there was an exhaust tube near the barbecue grill to draw away the smoke. One of the best KBBQ experiences I've had. The ambiance is stunning, the service attentive, and the food just absolutely perfect. The attention to detail to the decor throughout the store, the lovely moody lighting, the fact that they cook the meats far enough away that the smoke doesn't seep into your hair and clothes -- such an elevated experience! The food itself was all perfect. From the fresh, tangy banchan to the expertly cooked beef, to the fluffy and delicate steamed egg, the whole dinner from start to finish was fantastic. Im from LA so my expectations of KBBQ in America are a bit biased (we have the best korean food imo). I went into Nubiani expecting to be dissapointed. But nope. I left the place very happy. The combo sets are reasonably priced because the volume of food is great. Meat is premium quality 1000%. The kimchi stew (a must have in any kbbq joint) was refreshing and light. The steamed egg is the best egg ive ever had. ever. The spicy cold noodles - phenomenal. If you're looking for a nicer more modern kbbq spot that isn't going to absolutely stuff your stomach, come here. You also wont leave the place smelling like a chain smoker. But a cig after the meal would definitely do it read more
Pro Tip: Bring Cash. For a celebration dinner, my party of 4 had a memorable meal at the classy looking Nubiani. For our table, we ordered a large beef package, a pajeon that was somewhat oily, and a soon dubu. Our host expertly cooks and slices the meat. On stand by are servers who are ready to swoop down to pick up our nearly empty banchan plates only to replace them a few minutes later. At the end of the meal, everyone receives a most wonderful vanilla ice cream. When the check comes, you can get a discount if you pay in cash and you are expected to pay soon because there is a 90 minute time limit. read more

Another usual visit to our usual go to spot for Korean bbq, which we switched from the more popular K-town location to the newer midtown east one. As per usual, staff was great at getting us seated right before our reservation time, and promptly brought out the banchan (side dishes) right after we placed our order. This time around, we tried the newer salmon kettle pot rice, as well as the shrimp and chive pancake, along with the large meat package, which is a perfect amount of food for 4 people! Most of the parties around us were groups of 4-5, but this restaurant also perfectly suits smaller groups as well. Another great visit as usual, and another ice cream to celebrate in anticipation of our next visit to this amazing restaurant. read more

The staff was very nice. The meats and cuts was very fresh and delicious. The decor is very modern. For Korean bbq it is definitely on the high end side and that means high end prices. They do have a Michelin star to back it up. The ban chan was also very good. One great perk is leaving and not feeling like I smell of bbq. read more

Really enjoy this restaurant. The atmosphere is nice with comfortable lighting, and the service is good, which makes it a pleasant place to sit and enjoy a meal. We ordered one of the set meals, but honestly we were so hungry that we started eating right away before even thinking about taking pictures. Everything came out fresh and tasty. The quality of the beef was very good and really yummy. My daughter's boyfriend especially loved the pork in the pork kimchi soup. The pork was tender and flavorful, and he liked it so much that he even ordered two bowls. The soup had a nice balance of spicy and savory flavors and was very satisfying. Overall it was a very enjoyable meal with good food, good service, and a cozy atmosphere. If you visit, the pork kimchi soup is definitely worth trying. read more

I've dined at Nubiani before (at the Ktown location). But this was my first time dining at the Midtown East location with a reservation in the private room (seats up to 12 pp). **TIP** for the private room of 12 pp, the minimum spend is $120pp Service: Service was fine to start. There were a lot of people coming by to serve the banchans (2 sets for our group of 12, so 1 set of banchan for 6 people... I felt like it would be helpful to have had up to 3 sets personally, because we did need plenty of refills and it was a bit difficult to pass back and forth). For the private room, the grills are in the corner of the room away from the table. I did not mind this because it makes it less smoky, and since our meal was more focused on socializing (as I'm guessing most parties are when booking the private room), it was actually nice to have the grills out of the way. At a certain point early on in the dinner, we were only left with one staff member at the grill and she was quite busy. We had ordered a wine and we saw the wine bottle at the corner, but not yet served, and we were asked not to pour it ourselves. When another staff member came in, we asked if they could pour us the wine, and the staff member at the grill told us they would get to it soon, they were just busy at the grill right now, and the second staff member promptly left the room. The rest of the night we just had that one staff member attending us, which was fine once all the meat was grilled and the dinner was winding down, I just wish they were more attentive to the general party throughout, and had more staff members when things were busy. Food: For 12 pp, we ordered 3 "Beef Large Packages", and 2 of the following appetizers: - shrimp and chive pancake - japchae (vegetarian) - Beef tartare All packages come with a choice of stew, so we ordered the soybean paste stew, and egg soufflé. The meats were incredible, while the shared dishes we ordered were just okay, that honestly I'd recommend sticking to enjoying the Meat packages +dishes/banchans that come with the packages. The soybean paste stew was, dare I say, too salty. Perhaps it would have been great to order a side of rice to eat with that. I somehow preferred my first time at Nubiani with a party of 6 (Known location). I recall the service being EXCELLENT whereas here, despite having the private room, the service was hands off and it felt rushed. 10% off if you pay with cash. The 4 of us shared the nubiani package along with the cold noodles and perilla oil noodles. The meats were all good, with my favorite cuts being the pork belly (chunky and so crispy, bigger than your typical Korean cut) and perhaps the short ribs. The cold noodles is much more seasoned than typical 냉면. I was looking for a deeper beef broth flavor but this was good too. The perilla oil noodles were better especially with the black sesame paste. The shisho berry bliss and sunlit spritz both had the texture of smoothies which I didn't like. The milk soft serve with yuzu on top was good and they offered us a 2nd round. We love their KTown location so when we heard about them having this place too, we had to give it a shot. We made a weekend lunch reservation for a counter table and were seated right away. Service was great and fast and available. The food was so good! Meat was cooked perfectly by the gentleman working the second floor counter. The sides (banchan) were all delicious too. Ambiance was another high point. I actually liked the slightly more intimate vibes of this location. Totally recommended! read more
My first time checking out this location and I've gotta say, I definitely prefer it over the K-Town one! The vibes here are way more chill and relaxed. Our server was super attentive and really fun to chat with. We ordered the large beef package, cold noodles, and hamachi. She grilled our meat perfectly and all the flavors hit just right. Plus, our banchan were refilled without us even asking. Loved the whole experience! read more

Had such a great experience at Nubiani! Food was really fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. Everything we ordered was delicious and the quality of the food definitely stood out. On top of that, the service was excellent. Our servers were friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal without being overbearing. The whole experience felt welcoming and enjoyable from start to finish. Definitely a great spot for good food and great service - would absolutely come back! read more
My new favorite KBBQ spot in NYC (previously Cote), the quality of their short ribs was fantastic and truly shone even with just a small dab of salt right off the grill. They had a fun variety of side dishes, which were frequently replenished throughout the meal. They have a strict time limit for meals so some points may feel rushed if you're not a particularly fast meat eater, but the staff was very friendly and happy to walk through dishes with you. They have complimentary soft serve with a citrus marmalade at the end of the meal. The ambiance for this location feels more American modern as opposed to their original in Ktown which is more like a Korean pocha. read more
I'm a big fan of Nubiani in KTown and this location did not disappoint. The ambiance and interior of this restaurant is gorgeous. There's two floors and a ton of seating. The service was great and they're good about refilling side dishes, drinks, etc. The meal itself was also very good. Loved this experience and would recommend this location if you want something calmer than the KTown spot. read more
Went to the Midtown East location of Nubiani and sat at the bar. Shared the beef small package with a friend, which came with a few sides and a choice of stew. The ambiance was nice and the staff friendly, though the service felt a bit rushed. The meat quality was decent but on the chewy side - not quite on par with what I've had at Cote. read more
After not being able to grab a reservation at their K-town location, my friend and I decided to check out their Midtown East location. The interior of this restaurant is intimate, sleek, and pretty upscale. Service here was outstanding and so polite. My friend and I got their small beef package with soondubu and enjoyed it! The meal comes with delicious banchan, oyster fried rice, and orange soft serve (at the end). The beef package came with boneless short ribs, skirt steak, rib finger, and seasoned short ribs. For dipping you're given wasabi, salt, and a ponzu (?) sauce. All of the meat was great quality, tender, and juicy. Soondubu was also great! I also loved their oyster fried rice, but after it sat out during the course of the meal, the rice became hard and was pretty unedible :(. Their orange soft serve was a great way to end the meal. While the meal was pretty good, I think there's better Korean barbecue for the price point. read more
