I LOVE NUBIANI!!! this location is actually nicer than the ktown location probably cuz it's less busy in the area and newer but i liked it better here! the seating and lighting feels luxe and upscale. beef small package is a perfect amount of food for 3. the meat is perfect they cook it for you and they cook it to perfection each of the meats was juicy and not too tough. my favorite was probably the seasoned short rib it was perfectly seasoned a little sweet and salty soo yummy the beef small package comes with a complementary stew, banchan, and steamed egg. the stew is too salty no matter which one you get. probably the worst part of the meal imo. the banchan is super standard but the yam side dish was particularly delicious it was sweet and creamy it kinda felt like a dessert. everything was super fresh. the steamed egg was super bouncy and cooked perfectly like look at the dome in the photo. at the end of the meal we got a complimentary soft serve which was just a vanilla soft serve with preserved yuzu. i think this combo is great the ice cream was super creamy and the yuzu was sweet and sour so goooddd. great service as always they take care of you from start to finish. better than cote imo (and more affordable!) nubiani deserves the michelin star over them :p read more

Big fan of the ktown location and I'm so excited that they have one on 58th Street. It's two floors and has a lot of seating. I still recommend making a reservation as it's popular. I got the pork set for 2 and added on every other pork cut that wasn't included so we would have enough to feed 4 people. The pork is just as good as the beef. Our favorite was the marinated pork, which was extremely tender and packed full of flavor. We also got the hamachi tartare, which was so good and fun to make handrolls with. The banchan continues to be fire and I love how they provide my favorite banchan -- the steamed egg-- every meat dish goes so well with their scallion salad. Came here after hearing that it was the best kbbq experience that my friends have ever had and I definitely agree. The restaurant interior is very sleek, and everything about it was luxurious from the dim lighting to the marble tables. The service was super friendly and attentive to our table, even though it was a more secluded booth. The server ran us through the menu and gave us recommendations, and we went with the Nubiani package, which included all of their popular meats, including: Beef Rib Eye, Beef Rib Finger, Beef Boneless Short Ribs, Pork Belly, and Pork Seasoned Shoulder Butt. It also came with mushrooms, squash, and serrano peppers to cook on the grill. We also got 6 different side dishes, which were all delicious. I especially loved the tomato with basil and sesame sauce. I had never had this flavor combination and it was so good I got two more refills. Came here with friends and we ordered the Nubiani package which is a combination of beef and pork. The quality of their meats is always so good and for 3 people it was a lot of food. We also ordered the cold buckwheat noodle dish on the side as well and it was definitely a lot of food. At the end they also give you a soft serve and it's so good. I've dined at Nubiani before (at the Ktown location). But this was my first time dining at the Midtown East location with a reservation in the private room (seats up to 12 pp). **TIP** for the private room of 12 pp, the minimum spend is $120pp Service: Service was fine to start. There were a lot of people coming by to serve the banchans (2 sets for our group of 12, so 1 set of banchan for 6 people... I felt like it would be helpful to have had up to 3 sets personally, because we did need plenty of refills and it was a bit difficult to pass back and forth). For the private room, the grills are in the corner of the room away from the table. I did not mind this because it makes it less smoky, and since our meal was more focused on socializing (as I'm guessing most parties are when booking the private room), it was actually nice to have the grills out of the way. At a certain point early on in the dinner, we were only left with one staff member at the grill and she was quite busy. We had ordered a wine and we saw the wine bottle at the corner, but not yet served, and we were asked not to pour it ourselves. When another staff member came in, we asked if they could pour us the wine, and the staff member at the grill told us they would get to it soon, they were just busy at the grill right now, and the second staff member promptly left the room. The rest of the night we just had that one staff member attending us, which was fine once all the meat was grilled and the dinner was winding down, I just wish they were more attentive to the general party throughout, and had more staff members when things were busy. I have to say, my brother and I left feeling pretty disappointed about our experience here and will stick to the ktown location for Nubiani. We absolutely love Nubiani in ktown and have been recommending it to a lot of our friends and family, so we were excited to check out the new location. We came here craving it but felt like that was the most disappointing piece. We had the small beef package for the two of us and that was definitely more than enough food. Wish it came with more veggies to grill though. I think what upset us the most is that they were very, very slow with the services. Our sauces/dips (gave us two salt, ponzu/soy sauce, and no wasabi in one dish when it should be one of each) were wrong so we asked for wasabi, but it took MULTIPLE asks to get it. Our server kept cooking the meat too fast so a lot of the meat got really cold when we were about to actually eat it. I had to tell her multiple times to slow down as our plates still have a lot of meat, and to not start cooking the next batch of meat. The soy bean stew and steamed egg did not come out right away so it was when we had already started eating the meat that they came out. Last but not least, she kept taking away food/dishes that we could still eat. Not only did I feel like it was a waste of food but I wanted to eat more of it (like the steamed egg) so I had to stop her multiple times from taking it away from our table. Upon returning to this location a second time, with a large group and booking the private room, I was disappointed to have the same experience as many other reviewers - the food being consistently strong, but the service being rushed and rude. In fairness to the restaurant, we were running 20 mins late so you can take the following with a grain of salt. The private room has a minimum spend of 120 pp, but still only a 2 hour time limit - challenging for a group of 12 (we ended up being 11 people but were still charged for 12). We were given some aggressive timings, with the last food orders (1 hour before time up) and last drink orders (30 mins before time up). We were rushed along because there was meant to be a group coming at 8:30. We were waiting in the lobby area till 8:50 but didn't see any other group come in so felt like the rush wasn't necessarily justified. The service felt rude and unfriendly; none of the dishes were explained, and drinks orders were never taken - we had to call the server over several times to place each order. We ordered 1 Nubiani package and 2 Large beef packages (one was ordered at the last food call), for 8 meat eaters (the remainder were vegetarian or pescatarian), but because we started late, I am speculating that we weren't given the normal size portions of meat. The 8 of us finished almost every single bite of meat, which didn't make sense given each package should serve ~4 people (based on what the server told us and based on the 5 or so previous experiences with Nubiani). We also didn't receive our 3rd steamed egg. There are also normally mushrooms and vegetables that are cooked with the packages; we saw these on the platter but they were never cooked or served to us. The pancake is different from the Korean kimchi or seafood pancakes that I've had in the past. The shape is more irregular, the dough is thinner and fewer, and it had a lot of beef. I still prefer the pancakes I'm used to, but I really liked the cold buckwheat noodles. It was so refreshing and simple yet tasty. Large beef package - this was ALMOST enough for 3 guys and 3 girls (with 2 barely eating). It came with two choices of soup; we got the pork belly kimchi soup. It wasn't too spicy. Anyway, since the group was able to go for some beef but not a whole package, we ordered some more of our favorite loose meats from the large beef package. A bit later, one of my guests picked up a piece of meat from the edge of the grill with her chopsticks, only to be met again with a raised voice: "DO NOT TOUCH THE GRILL WITH YOUR CHOPSTICKS." As a guest unfamiliar with the restaurant's rules, I believe a more courteous approach such as, "If the meat is too large, I'd be happy to cut it for you," or "The grill is hot, let me help you with that" would have defused the situation. In that case, we would have simply apologized and moved on. I requested to be served by someone else, but the server (Jenny/Jennifer) refused, saying, "I am THE main server for your table," and continued serving us. She then left the grill on high heat unattended for over 5 minutes, causing the meat/vegetables to burn. When one of my guests commented that it's because the temperature was too high, she responded, "I was trained here." When I asked for the manager, the server turned off the grill and proceeded to deliberately ignore our table for good 10-15 minutes, interrupting our meal entirely. Even when I followed up to ask if the manager was on the way, her only response was, "They're busy, just wait." Additionally, she exchanged whispers and made displeased expressions with other staff right in front of our table. In the end, the Assistant Manager came over to apologize. While some of this may be due to insufficient staff training, the incident appeared to stem primarily from the server's personal attitude. As a customer, I believe the best way to deal with an unfriendly restaurant is simply not to return, but if a staff member dislikes working in a restaurant, they should seek a role more suited to them. In my 15+ years living in Manhattan, I have never had such an unpleasant dining experience. THIS WAS, WITHOUT A DOUBT, THE WORST. I have no plans to visit Nubiani again. Thanks! read more

The food we had last night was really good but what ruined our experience was our server. The entire time it felt as if she just wanted us to finish up our meal and leave. For a $200+ dinner it was pretty disappointing to say the least. We considered asking for a new server but it just felt very awkward to do so. Nubiani - Small Beef Package and Japchae - Korean Near Me - New York, New York

I've been to both the locations of Nubiani and I am pretty biased and love this location. The ambiance and the environment is a lot darker and more intimate. However the day we were, there was some issues with the bathroom and it somehow ended up flooding. Not the restaurant fault but it's probably because they just opened and was going through some kinks. Nonetheless, I would definitely come back to this Nubiani. Once again the staff is always friendly and it's great service. The meats are no different than the ktown location so you'll be expecting the same quality meats. read more

Incredible date night experience yesterday; we were seated quickly and efficiently. Once we ordered, our food was so quick to arrive and SO delicious. The onion salad was one of the appetizers and so tasty and light. I also really enjoyed the bean sprouts and greens. There was even a scoop of yam in honey if you needed a hint of sweet. Our meat was cooked to perfection and so delicious; we got the Small Beef Package which was plenty for 2 people, initially wanted Nubiani package but it was advised for 4. I had a delicious glass of Cabernet and to top it off, they serve complimentary ice cream to finish the meal. Ours was topped with an orange marmalade. Can't wait to come back and bring friends. BEWARE: This was hands down one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. Our waitress--the short-haired girl--had an unbelievably hostile attitude from the moment we sat down. I brought my family, who were visiting from out of town, for what was supposed to be a special occasion, and we ended up spending over $800 on a night that was completely ruined. We were not even given 30 seconds to look at the menu as a party of five before she repeatedly came back, rushing us with visible impatience and attitude. At one point, I ordered the hamachi tartare, which is served with seaweed for wrapping. While I was literally in the middle of making a wrap, she reached over, took the plate without saying a word, and then deliberately placed it far out of my reach. It was shocking and incredibly disrespectful. To make matters worse, when our meat was left on the grill, she completely disappeared and never came back to check on it. Another waitress had to step in and take over, which only highlighted how inattentive and unprofessional she was. Her behavior completely ruined my appetite--I couldn't enjoy my meal at all after that. The entire experience was uncomfortable from start to finish. For a place charging this much money, this level of service is completely unacceptable. It's a shame, because other staff members were actually kind and accommodating--but unfortunately, that doesn't make up for how poorly we were treated overall. Save your money and go somewhere else.
