BE AWARE THEY WILL CHARGE YOU TWICE for one visit. I went here to eat and the establishment charged me twice for one visit. I called and spoke to the restaurant and told them they had duplicated my bill to try to resolve the issue. Not only did they refuse to refund me they told me to take it up with my credit card company and then when I disputed it they denied the claim by showing two separate receipts with only one signature. NOT ONLY that they duplicated my tip so they got away with charging me twice and taking my tip twice!!! Be aware of this establishment as the will try to rip you off! Never coming back read more

Wonderful staff and reasonable prices. I think they have a very interesting set up here where you can build your own hot pot and customize your own boba drinks. I had made a mistake and failed to follow instructions properly with my drink and made it entirely too sweet. The staff here was kind enough to help me adjust the sweetness and help fix my drink even though it meant wasting some inventory. I had their sukiyaki pot and I love that they even let me adjust the spice levels on a sweet hot pot dish like this. Very happy with this place and Will be back again! read more

This place has been on my "hit" list for awhile & since it was a chilly night, it was perfect for hot pot. We arrived about 5pm on a Tuesday evening & were the only ones there. It worked in our favor as we had the chance to ask lots of questions. They have a set menu with a nice selection of flavors & options. Or you can build your own from a small self serve area & then they weigh your ingredients. We opted to order from the menu (curry, miso & beef pot). You also get a choice of a rice or glass noodles. The individual pots come on top of a cute little box and the burner is on the bottom. If you no longer want the flame just ask server & they'll snuff it out. They also have a self serve boba station where you pick all kinds boba, jellies & fruit toppings. A pretty good selection of drinks. The food is pretty decent. To be honest, I think that the seafood options don't really have a fresh taste to it which I found disappointing. However, I think the beef options are fine. The broth bases are delicious and flavorful. They used to have all you can't eat rice with every combo but for some reason they took it off. The service is good! This place is SO good! Love the build your own hot pot option (this is the workshop part). The owners are very nice and helpful. The prices are also very reasonable especially when they have specials. Their quality is fresh and comparable to the other hot pot places. I found that they are better than Boiling Point, which I used to go all the time. Unfortunately Boiling Point has gone downhill while their prices keep climbing. Love this place. Got two spicy Taiwanese hot pots & one original broth hot pot. Each person built their own bowl, adding in their own toppings. Lots of options and super filling. There were also pre-made bowl options. We opted for the combos, getting drinks on the side. I got milk tea and coffee mixed with brown sugar agar and coffee jelly (yum!) & my friends got fruit slush drinks with popping boba. Lots of toppings available. This used to be our favorite hot pot place. But the owner has made 2 huge mistakes. The milk tea drink used to have numerous topping options but now limited to only boba. Second, the beef used to be so good but now literally is mostly fat. I think your cost cutting was a huge mistake. You have lost a customer! read more

The workers so sweet and guided us through on self serving station. As of June 2022, the price for the self serve hot pot is $14.99. I ordered curry at medium spice level as a soup base and it tasted so good. There was also a self serving boba station. That station had a variety of toppings and a self serve drink station. The food is no taste. The worst hot pot I ever taste. My husband ordered beef pot. The beef is 5 slices other than is tofu and napa. All the broth are beef broth even seafood pot. This is my second time here. We did have to wait for a table (party of 4) but it was only about 10 minutes. Staff seems friendly, and were helpful with our orders. Love the concept, but there was a lot more cabbage in my bowl than anything else (set pot Miso Soup, number 8 I think.) Everyone at the table had a good experience. Is chilly out here in the IE tonight! Came out to enjoy IE with my wife and we're craving hotpot so I decided to give a local mom and pop hotpot a try. We chose hot pot mini workshop for their convenience of parking and proximity to Ontario mills. Upon arrival is busy but we got seated right away with bilingual and friendly staff! Ambient was nice and average noise. Family friendly restaurant to eat by yourself or with groups can't go wrong. This ain't your traditional hotpot like boiling point chain. Here you can build your own self serve hotpot which we didn't opt for. We kept it to classic sets with drinks combo. I ordered a special combo it comes with stinky tofu and intestines and good amount of meats and assortments of veggies and condiments. My wife got cabbage combo set which is mustard cabbage and mix meat and veggies. I kept mine mild spicy which was still a kicker and hers was non spicy. You get unlimited rice bowls with dine in option only hint you rice lovers out there! Honestly, where can you get unlimited rice for set meals combo it beats boiling point to say the least. You get to build your own custom boba drink too which is decent size comparatively to half and half size cups. No refill which is reasonable considering the portion. The pricing is super affordable too most share one pot if like for sure for two people. I definitely be back for more hotpot here at workshop mini and will maybe try the self serve next time to build my own hotpot and authentic flavors! In Ontario area people give them a try you can order take out too! Is worth the wait for sure! Decent parking lot in retail plaza clean environment as it can be! Can't wait to be back! Great place for hotpot. Nothing too fancy, but still gets the job done on taste and convenience. Their menu has preset hotpots, but if you are like me and want specific ingredients only, then the self-serve hotpot is the way to go for only $12.99/pound. Largely frozen ingredients, such as beef, pork, tofu, fish cake, beef balls, etc. The only catch is that there are some ingredients in the preset hotpots that are not available when you try to make your own. Otherwise, there is a variety of broths you can choose from, such as sukiyaki, thai, spicy satay, etc. After selecting your ingredients, pick a spice level and either unlimited rice versus vermicelli noodles. Right now, they are running a promotion for $2 regular-sized boba drink or $3 large-sized boba drink with a hotpot purchase as well. The drinks are self-serve at the toppings bar and a choice of drink (oolong tea, taro tea, strawberry mango slush, etc.) It's a great price and goes well with the meal. Workers here are very friendly and pleasant. The place is always clean and tidy. I am a fan and will definitely come back here for more. read more

We ordered from Door Dash a few times and this time we went in person. Check in on yelp and you get $2 off your hot pot order. Their beef pot and sukiyaki pot compare to like boiling point quality. It's yummy for sure. The ingredients for different preset hot pot is very similar . The only difference is the soup. I'm just confused if I want to create my own hot pot , the price of ingredient is per pound ? How would I know if they truly give me a pound or 3/4 pound ? Not too sure if I need to get my own water for refill from the water station. This is one of the newer hot pot place near Ontario. The food menu is similar to BP which you get individual hot pot filled with meat , vegetable, tofu, seafood, and paired with rice or noodle. We ordered the beef pot and Taiwanese spicy pot, which both soups taste similar. The Taiwanese spicy only come in a large pot vs the regular beef pot. If your not into intestines, I would recommend picking the beef pot instead. The restaurant open during the unexpected pandemic, which must be really tough for the owner. The restaurant is open for takeout and few tables for out door seating. If your on the fence about trying this place out it's a good time as they have a current promo with free 24oz make your own boba tea for each hot pot ordered! They offer a variety of milk and non milk tea that you can mix to create your ideal taste. Make sure to let them know about your adjusted sweet level as the standard drink are more toward sweeter side. The topping include boba, grass jelly , egg pudding , aloe vera, clear boba , popping boba , rainbow jelly , and more. I'm not sure how much topping you can get but I mixed up to 4 toppings!
