Came across this new hot pot restaurant on Yelp and gave it a try. And I don't regret it at all! The staff was nice, the interior was clean, and the food was ready in minutes. I ordered the Taiwanese Spicy Beef Pot (large) and it tasted pretty good, flavorful broth, and ingredients were good. Although, I wished there were tempura and little bit more toppings, like the fish ball, fish cake, clams, etc. Overall, I liked what I ordered and will be back again to try other pots. read more

Food was good but not memorable. I would say boiling point is tastier . The drink available are super sugary you can see all the powder at the bottom of the base. They also have build your own boba and the jasmine green milk tea was very good. Service was amazing, friendly and welcoming. Total for two hot pot and 2 drinks 24$, affordable and filling. Great hotpot and boba place. I especially love the build your own and they charge by the pound. At every hot pot place you get this filler cabbage to fill up your pot; well not here. You can fill your hot pot with things you enjoy eating. Another plus is they have duck blood and stinky tofu. We also tried their Taiwanese shaved ice. Very OG style and the portion was huge, definitely worth the money. read more

Found this place on Yelp. The other hotpot place was closed so I decided to try them. Customer Service was lovey. The Taiwanese lady who took my order over the phone was super nice, polite, and energetic. She shared with me about their drink special and there were lots of varieties to choose and you can add sides too. I got the Oolong Milk Tea with pudding. The pudding was delicious. Ingredients are fresh. Meat was tender but I agree with another customer that the meat can be more. Maybe because I ordered the Stinky Tofu so meats were not a lot? Recently tried their "build your own" hot pot option, & I personally found that this option caters more to my taste buds. I am not a huge fan of the "balls" varying from fish/pig blood, etc. My husband who normally steers away from any hot pot places also loved this option as well, since he mainly just wants broth/meat/bok choy/ramen noodles/hot dogs. Very yummy hotpot & friendly prices for the amount! Yay!! My favorite is the taiwanese spicy hotpot and that one is pretty spicy (I can take jalapeño usually). I usually adjust the spice level to a medium and it's perfect! Also I love how they are doing a special promo to give free boba with a hotpot purchase. The bubble tea is surprisingly good too, especially considering this is a hotpot restaurant! You can adjust sweetness level and also customize toppings. :) The togo containers are sturdy too so I can microwave any leftovers for the next day~ I love coming here!! I took my girls to try out this place I heard about from a friend. I was quite a drive for us but I'm glad we went. We ordered 3 hotpot. I had the Spicy Duck Pudding Tofu Pot. My daughters had the Taiwanese Pot and the Seafood pot. It came out pretty fast. I was surprised at how much was in the pot. Everything tastes great. All three broths had lots of favor. Even my picky little eater enjoyed it! The boba station was a plus, my girls loved it so many selections. I will definitely return. Totally worth the drive. read more

this place is amazing! i have nothing bad to say about this restaurant. i got to build my own hot pot bowl and put the ingredients i wanted from a variety of items. i also got to choose which broth i wanted. i got the taiwanese spicy and my boyfriend got the spicy satay, and both soups were delicious. the worker suggested those broths and it did not disappoint. i forgot to take a picture of the food cause i was too excited haha i love the idea of customizing your own mini hot pot bc i usually don't like everything provided in the set menu. they also have a build your own boba bar so we decided to get it after our meal. i got the regular milk tea and my boyfriend got the oolong milk tea! there's not many great asian restaurants in the city of ontario but this one is a gem. very worth to check out :) i will definitely be coming back! staff is super friendly, great food, lots of parking, super clean and sanitary! read more

Second time here and I was a bit disappointed. The menu has good variety of selections compared to other Taiwanese hot pot chain. However, the build-your-own pot, which i came back to try, needs to be better executed (or perhaps reviewed). Vegetables are not fresh/clean. Serving utensils are all placed in a "new" bucket but no "used" utensils basket/holder. Staff was unfamiliar with the pricing and unable to make customers aware of their self-service policy or best practices, including food weighing, until late in the process. YMMV but overall I would stick with menu items if asked. read more

So happy I went to try Hot Pot Mini Workshop for the first time today. I wasn't even sure the owners would serve us since there was only 30 minutes left before they closed, but they did! And boy am I glad they did because I will definitely be back again. The quality and the customer service far surpasses the other hot pot places in the area, personally. I had their self-serve hot pot with tomato soup base. The tomato soup base was rich and flavorful. Definitely worth trying if you like tomatoes. I particularly enjoyed the self-serve option because I don't always like the stuff a lot of places put in pre-made pots, and it seems so wasteful to throw it away. I was able to mix beef with fish, and I added as much crab sticks as I wanted. Everything looked fresh and clean. I also got the guava green tea, and it tastes just like those awesome juice boxes you get out of 7-Eleven in Taiwan. Looking forward to when I can go again. And SUPER happy they decided to open their cute restaurant in the Inland Empire near my house. Yippeeee! read more

Their service is superb! There was a car accident on our way to pick up the food, and we would arrive after their business hours. so we called to inform them that we would be late to pick up the meals. They told us that's okay and drive safe. That really makes us feel relieved. Food is amazing, too! We will definitely come back for their spicy duck blood cake hot pot! The portion is large enough for me and my husband. Be cautious! It's spicy! The drink is included when you order a hot pot. The cup is much larger than it looks from the pictures on Yelp. So first off, if you look at my Yelp review history, I only do it if the food was amazing, amazing customer service, or if I'm really satisfied with a product, so long story short, I eat at a lot of places but don't always review, unless my mind is blown, which I know I should also review places that aren't so great lol Nonetheless, I was getting gas and saw the Hot Pot Mini Workshop, thought I'd give it a try. I walk in and the lady was very helpful and gave me some recommendations. I ordered the Seafood Pot and the Sukiyaki Pot. It was a plus because I got two free boba drinks :) Anyway, I take it home (takeout thanks to COVID) to my wife and we start eating, and let me tell you, BOMB!! The seafood pot was so tasteful, great seafood taste and the Sukiyaki pot was excellent too!! I added the tree different sauces that are given to you (sorry I am not sure what the sauces were lol) but please please, keep this business alive and make your purchase today!! You won't be disappointed!! I do apologize for not having any pictures, I honestly wasn't expecting to be sooo impressed. Best believe, we didn't waste a drop! So good. there has been few taiwanese mini hot pot restaurants open around the area but i have to say this one is worthy trying. the meat quality is great, and the soup base is really delicious, the overall quality is very top notch. This place is right next to my work place, the flavors are really good. In general the taste is better than boiling point and other places I visited around this area. However the meat portion can be improved a little since place like mj cafe near by offer way more. I would definitely get them as take out and just add more meat and toppings at home. This place is so cute! I got the pre-set Taiwanese spicy pot and it was delicious. It was enough for 1.5 meals for me. One heavy meal and one small meal (although I'm not a huge eater). Love that the flame automatically goes out at such a good time during the meal (towards the later end). Service was so friendly. I did take out for the beef hotpot and it tasted pretty good. It also came with a free drink, so I got the black tea, it was way too sweet for me, I don't think you can adjust the sugar level but that's okay. The staff was super nice/helpful when I called to order and pick up. read more

I was super excited to try this place but was extremely disappointed with their poor service. When I ordered the signature pot I specifically told the waitress i want regular tofu NOT stinky tofu. When i got my pot they did not change out the tofu. So i asked the waitress if they can remove the stinky tofu and just give me regular tofu she told me they don't have regular tofu which was a lie. There are few other pots with regular tofu. I got up and paid for my "Free" drink and will never return to this place again. Not to mention when i sent my pot back i waited almost 15 minutes!!! How long does it take for them to change out the tofu??!! This owner need to re-evaluate the level of customer service. read more

They are SOOOOO STINGY with the ingredients. I ordered the the house special with fermented tofu and the beef hotpot. First of all, even though they had signs that you get a 24 oz boba with your order of pot, they refused to give it to me. The house special came with a piece of clam...i mean 1 piece!! 1 piece of quail egg, a half of fish ball, a few pieces of pork, and a whole lot of cabbage!! It was a $16 cabbage soup for real...so disappointing. I was so excited to try this place. Same thing with the beef pot, 3 slices of thinly slice beef, 1 fish ball, a half of fish cake and a whole lot of cabbage!!! Save your money folks. For $35 you can buy your own ingredients at the Asian market and feed a family and maybe even have leftovers. You've been warned! Do not spend $35 on cabbage soup!! read more
