The stupid women kept trying to persuade me to get white tips after the 5th time of me telling her no she finally stopped and did what i asked for. then once she put the white powder on she couldn't get it off to shape it so she decides to rip my nail off and try again i felt as if i went to a cosmetology school to get my nails done for free. then i asked her to file them square and she did one hand half way between square and round this was by far my worst experience EVER!!! and for $30 i could have got a better result for $25.I would never go there again! read more

Recently started going here after I was yelping around for a new nail place. I've gotten waxed (eyebrows), pedicures, gel manicures, and a full set here. I have not been less than pleased here! The other day my friend and were driving around the area trying to find a place a get a pedicure. Since I'm still pretty new to the area we had to trust yelp to find a nail salon that was 1. still open at 5 mins to 6 on a Sunday 2. had decent yelp reviews. So that brings us to hot nail.We walked in thinking that we were going to have a long time to wait, but really only waited a few minutes. They still give you a choice of a regular or spa pedicure. We took the spa thinking that we would relax a little bit with the massage chairs. Not a chance, the chairs are older so they don't really do much but push pressure onto your back. The plus side was the girl took her time with me and really scrubbed the bottom of my feet. making them feel really fresh and clean. All together the prices were pretty reasonable. They take walk ins, but seem to get really busy after 4pm. They did stay open later on Sunday especially if more clients walked in which is a bonus. I really enjoyed this place that I went back the following day for my manicure which they offer several gel colors and only charge $20. That's the cheapest I've been able to find so far for gel. read more

She never insisits on me getting a design. She asks once and if I say no it's no. She does not try to convince of why I should get polka-dots or how pretty a flower is. Kelly is awesome at my short nails. When I go get fills and tell her I want them short she says ok. I like them to be super short and she does just that. The way I want them done. Kevin is my back up incase kelly is off or busy. He does it just the way I like them. Just last week I went in and said "Fill and pedicure" and he looked at my nails and said "you dont need a fill yet". What other nail place does that. I don't know what happened to this place. It was so good. This time, my mani started chipping the next day. Not just chipping a little, chipping in large flakes. Besides that, let me just list the reasons why I rated this place only 2 stars. 1. after my spa pedi, they made me walk barefoot to the toe dryer. Why would you even think to ask a customer to do that? 2. I asked for her to help me put on my flip-flops before walking on the dirty floor (my nails were wet and my toes weren't dry) and she looked at me like she was confused or I was making a strange demand 3. I asked for a shorter, natural cut, not too short. She pretty much cut my nail to the quick and made it too square. Unfixable. 3. the top layer was smaller than the bottom layer. Imagine this: the bottom color goes on. The second color layer leaves about half a centimeter of space between the skin and the nail where the bottom layer shows through because the second layer DOES NOT COVER IT. HORRIBLE! 4. Amy, I think her name was, was very inattentive. My foot dryer went off several times and because it was broken and I couldn't stick my finger in the hole to turn it on because my nails were drying, I had to ask repeatedly to have them turn it back on for me. So those four things in addition to the poor mani that started flaking off the next day. the only redeeming thing and the reason they are getting two stars is that they went to town on the callus removal and they are very gentle. Also, I like my water near scalding and they adjusted the temp until I was satisfied and were very nice about it. I will not be going back. read more

The prices here are amazing. The decor matches the prices ... this is not a posh place, but hey it gets the job done. I usually just get a pedicure ($11.99) and occasionally get my eyebrows waxed, which they do very well. Sometimes you have to wait for a while. Another reviewer wrote that it took two hours ... I have had that experience, I live close by so if it looks too busy I usually just plan to come back later. I guess I could try to make an appointment, but I have always just come as a walk in. I have never had a full set here, so I can't speak to those services. read more

This place is terrible!! I walked in on a Thursday night and the time between me walking in and leaving two hours!! I walked in and of course they're nice since they want to hook you in. I picked my color, sat on a spa chair and waited. I had to hold my phone, keys and shades in my hand because the chair are so close I couldn't us the small table to place me things on top. I then waited for the lady to help me. She unpolished my nails, filed them crooked and then polished them. The color I choose was cute but she applied so many coats is didn't dry and smeared instead. I then requested to change my color and was looked at sideways. I had gel on my nails when I walked in and instead of removing it the traditional way they filed it off. I waited 25 minutes for the lady because while we was working on me a usual customer walked in and they met her needs. I was then reassigned to another worker who was irked and begrudgingly assisted me. She cut me while removing my cuticles and again applied so many coats of my new color that the moment I walked out my nails smeared. The only thing I like is my hot pink polish. I hate this place!! Word to the wise if you already have a nail salon you like stick to it if not then come to Sport Nail and Tanning in La Habra, ask for Tammy. I usually go to a place on the next block behind Yum-Yum donuts (Lovely Nails???), but this place had lots of pretty neon lights in the window and I'm easily distracted so I thought I'd give it a try. Went in for an eyebrow wax and pedicure. Services were fine, but I hated that they were doing both services at the same time. One is working on my feet and the other is slapping hot wax on my face. It wasn't relaxing and sorta confusing. First one, then the other, thank you very much. They lost "stars" because the place next store only charges gosh, something ridiculous like $13 for a pedicure and you get to sit in the spa chairs. This place lets you stare at the spa chairs will you sit at a nail station at have you feet done in a bucket if you choose not to have a "spa pedicure". They also lost a star, as will every waxing place I review, FOR ASKING ME IF I WANTED MY UPPER LIP WAXED TOO! Everyone has hair on their face, but I don't have a mustache. Okay so this place is absolutely ridiculous! First of all, the new owner is an absolute creep! He doesn't know boundaries, he came up to me at least 3 times and definitely invaded my personal space. I brought my friend and he did the same to her. He got too close and made me feel really uncomfortable. Then I waited over an hour just to get seated. I became frustrated, told the guy I would call another day to make an appt, and left. As I was leaving, he came literally running to my car, and not to apologize for the wait, but continued to harass, then asked for my number and to dinner. This man has to be at least 40. Mind you, I'm 20. So disgusting. I gave him the wrong number and took off. Never again will I come to this place. This place was okay, I was looking for a place that could do a great stiletto nail and saw some pictures so figured I'd call and book an appointment to give them a try. I've also been in search of a new nail place since the one I normally go to just isn't really doing a great job anymore. So I called and booked a same day appt which was 15 mins notice and they were able to take me, which was great since I was leaving for Vegas the same day. I walked in and the woman at the front desk was very sweet and welcoming. She had me sit with Lyn, I smiled and said hi, there was zero expression on her face and it looked like she hated her life, I almost wanted to give her a hug. Because of her presence and lack of communication I was immediately uncomfortable. I noticed the greeter tell her I was a new client, not sure that really made much of difference lol. So she asked how I wanted my full set and I told her and we started right away. The place was busy but there wasn't anyone else waiting and it seemed like she was in a hurry. Because she was rushing she ended up filing one of the nails crooked, so I told her and she looked frustrated and took it off and did a new one. I'm not sure if she just had a bad morning, but I was literally there 30 mins after they opened so it wasn't like the end of the day and she was tired. I'm a full time cosmetologist so I know first hand all about bad days and setting them aside for clients (aka customer service). So we finished up and I moved over to the spa pedicure chairs, this place is a little cramped so maneuvering around to get to it was a mini obstacle course. I don't remember the woman's name who did my pedi but she was much more social and had a sense of humor which was nice compared to sitting with Lyn. The woman did poke me once and when unsaid "owe" she stopped and apologized and waited til I was okay to continue. At the end when I checked out, I ended up getting a charge for an eyebrow wax that I didn't do, but the front desk woman apologized and gave me the difference in cash. Unfortunately I don't think this will be my new nail home, the work was okay, and I appreciate the last minute appointment but I like to relax and feel like my business is appreciated rather than feeling like I'm a burden and being rushed.. read more

March 3, 2016 Hot nail has there touch back. My husband and I got spa pedicures with callus remover addition. We are highly satisfied with the outcome. Lisa and Lynn will be my go to ladies. They scrubbed our feet really well and the message had good pressure. I'm glad I didn't give up on this place. Aug 6, 2015 Typically I give this shop a 5 star review, but today was not to par. I called ahead (like I usually do) and was given an appointment for 3 peddis, but when I arrived the spa seats were taken by walk-in (confirmed by the male receptionist). I was disappointed, but what put me over the top was the disregard for a regular client's appointment. I bring my WHOLE family here, males included. I was convinced to stay with a promise to be seen in 5-10 minutes, but after waiting 15 minutes I walked towards the door and the owner was surprised. I explained that I had called in advanced for 3 peddis and it had now been a total of 45 mins after my original appointment time. I'd rather be told that they are busy and I should come back on a different day than being strung along. My time is valuable!! I don't like making an appointment ando it not be kept.
