Me and my cousin came in here today for full sets around 6:30pm. They were pretty busy. We stood there and a handful of the ladies working on customers saw us, but nobody said anything, not even a hello. We stood there for about 5 min then grabbed the gel nail polish samples looking at colors. Finally the lady at the front desk, who was litteraly 5 feet away from us asks "do you need something?" Lol uhhh yeah told her we wanted two full sets. She told us to sign in. No one gave us a wait time or ohh be right with you or anything. Wasn't a fan, and walked out. Won't even try coming back here. I had a terrible experience here. I asked for gel nails and got what turned out to be regular acrylic nails with a gel topcoat. The first technician peeled off my old acrylics with a glue-on tip even though I told him repeatedly he was hurting me and didn't suggest removing them with acetone until after he was done. He could not answer even my most basic questions though his English seemed fine earlier. Also, I had to wait for almost 45 minutes in the middle of getting my nails shaped so he could help somebody else and the woman attendant who was supposed to work on me decided to take somebody else while I sat there with half filed nails. I was charged $15 more than originally quoted on my CC, and all in all it took over 2 hours. The free edges and undersides of my nails came out very uneven. The very next day my nails were separating around the back edge, and less than a week later they all are. And I repeat, they're not even real gel nails! ___________EDIT_____________ I asked them the day I did this review if they'd fix the nails that had already chipped, and after much prodding I got the lady to agree if it was as I described that they'd fix my nails. I pressed her again to disclose the price and she told me they'd charge me regular full price again because they'd fix 'em, they just never said it'd be free or discounted! read more

My experience here will play out in the back of my head every time I try a new nail salon. - my skin (a huge chunk) was cut off from the side of my nail by one of them. I was continuously bleeding for about 10 minutes. Mind you after I was finished they wanted to discount me $2 from my mani-pedi! - The one who did my pedicure was a little older than the rest. I'm assuming it was the "mom" that owns it. She ended up filing my toe instead of my nail because she was looking out to the parking lot the whole time. She took off the nail polish, filed, then was about to put lotion. She didn't try to cut any cuticle, or anything else that is normally done. I felt like I was a five year old. I asked her if she could cut the sides so I can feel like I actually got a pedicure. She hurt me so bad after cutting one side so I told her to stop. My nail was infected after two days. I had to get surgery on it because of this woman. This is the grossest nail salon I've experienced. read more

I went on friday evening 9/18/15 to get spa pedicure gel stileto nails with nude color by Saturday night they changed color like if they burned uneven color. I called she said to come in and she will fix it BS. She said i must had died my hair or some ones hair because they look stained. I had a wedding to go to she just kept going your pants like new pants fade... really??? So i did something wrong? Her customer said some brands change colors. I siad then are you going to change it for free she said NO you have to pay. I told her just know I am not coming back. Kelly is really rude. I am visiting a friend who lives in Pico Rivera, and through the Yelp directions this place was really easy to find. Today I got a spa pedicure from Tammy, and opted to have callous filing(I think that's the term?) as well as a sugar scrub, which was a nice orange/tangerine scent. My pedi lasted a little over an hour, I think she did a very thorough job. I also got my eyebrows waxed and for $4.99, the job can't be beat. My eyes were closed of course but along with waxing and tweezing I believe she shaped them with small shears? I don't know her name but she did a good job as well. I paid 30 dollars for pedicure, scrub, filing and eyebrows. Definitely well priced. read more

They don't even deserve this one petty star I gave them. The worse customer service ever. I've been going here since I was in 4th grade, because my Mom & my sister would go too. I have always been understanding to wait without a appointment. My usual wait time was anywhere from 45mins to an hour. Without complaint. 6 months ago I stopped going because Kelly's brother scheduled me an appointment for only, ONLY my eyebrows. & when he told me to go into the room to get them done where Kelly was she walked out, walked pass me saying wait I need to help this girl. The girl stated I'll wait it's only her eyebrows. Kelly insisted that I can wait with an attitude she told the girl she started on a FULL SET, "no she can wait you're first" then she continued & I waited, as I stated I've been a loyal customer. I waited 30mins for an appointment I had for my eyebrows. After that I left & didn't go back until about 3wks ago. You would think since Kelly knew how long I've been gone she would put customer service first to redeem me back as business & me always paying $60+ 1wk & a half, but no. Instead she sets me up with inexperienced nail person. He did my nails fine the first time. But before a week & half passed a nail fell off. So I went back got them fixed but still paid. Sunday I got my nails done by Tuesday night my nail fell off. So I made an appointment at 10am when they open, for 6:30 since Kelly brother said 5 & 5:30 were taken. I showed up 15mins ahead of time. When she was done with a lady. I seen her get up & go to the next girl, after 15mins after my appointment set time I ask her brother if she's doing a full set he said w/ a fucked up attitude "well she had an appointment" I said "as did I" he said well I only filled you in because u had a complaint. I said oh yeah okay . Left & never going back. It's barely been a week since getting my full set and now three nails have fallen off. HAHAHA Definitely getting them fixed at another spot which Kelly knows it's real competition. Good luck! Word of advice Kelly, your brother Kevin should have NEVER allowed you to run the shop. Oooookay, so I totally thought this place was gonna be so great cause of the reviews..but it wasn't THAT amazing. When I walked in, the lady was super nice which isn't normal right? Haha but then she started explaining that a regular pedicure was 13$ and a spa pedicure is 15. And a manicure is 7.99. I asked if there was a mani pedi special, but there isn't. So I settled for the regular pedicure and they soaked my feet in like a little plastic tub. I'm like really? And the lady that did my mani and pedi was rushing. Which I hate. I've been on a this quest to find the best mani pedi in Whittier since 1996 when I got my first full set at 13 to go with my Belle costume. Since then I've tried every nail salon in the local strip malls, after all the chipped nails, cuts, burns, long waits and poor service I've finally found a place i can call home. If it's a full set, decent manicure, french tips, awesome (clean) spa chair or facial I'm always happy with the results at Hot Nails. On average a spa mani pedi is $22 + tip. The staff is welcoming and take pride in customer care. I even received a Christmas gift with my visit last December. My only gripe is it's not the best location (very close to the 605 freeway) and the shop can use a face lift. Okay, see you in two weeks! read more

Super cheap, quintessential "ghetto" nail salon. They do a spectacular job! Got gel nails with french tips and a basic pedicure done before a wedding. Made my appointment last minute, which they were able to accommodate. Super friendly service with nail technicians that understand English and actually want their customers to leave happy. Surprise, surprise! The base coat on my toenails matched perfectly with my dress. They do a variety of nail art by hand! And the polish and decor lasted PERFECTLY for more than two weeks. And this is only because I got another pedi. I definitely could have waited longer. Really amazing quality and attention to detail. About my gel tips, they were cut to the perfect length. Manicurists often cut my fakes muchmuch longer than I would like because they don't have the appropriate tools or skill to make them shorter (I have super tiny teeny hands). Hot Nails cut my nails to a natural, practical length. They were smooth by my cuticles and on the undersides as well! No cutting, no bleeding, no pain whatsoever! My nail beds were not destroyed and none of my gels have fallen off. So let your fears be quelled! I got my hands and feet done quickly, in less than an hour. And for only $25 including tip! I really do like this place, and I really wanted to give it five stars. I was about to give it five stars too... until the gel top coat started cracking less than a week after I got my nails done. It's all because of uneven application... All the ladies were pretty nice, and they were very accomodating and fit me in with half an hour notice.
