We resided in the hotel and decided to eat here one of the evenings of our stay. Our table was not ready for our reservation time, however, they acknowledged we were waiting. The owner was so entertaining, he continued to sing throughout the night which we loved. We met a lot of great people while we were dinning and talked about our lives throughout the evening. The drinks, ambiance, and food were good. Come prepared to spend money.

Tiramisu was awesome as was the entire meal.

Top notch service. Our table wasn't ready for our reservation time but was offered FREE drink and 3 different people came to let us know how things were progressing. It was only 2 minutes late. Plus the owner sang Italian songs and was a hoot. Kept things lively and entertaining. Good food. Highly recommended.

My wife and I enjoyed an amazing experience at il Pino last night. We arrived early and were the first couple to be seated at a beautiful table overlooking Positano, Capri and the Amalfi Coast for sunset. Breathtaking views. Met the owner and head chef Dinner, wine and service were outstanding. We will absolutely visit again.

Excellent food and service. Simon and staff were very attentive. Freshest seafood and great local wine selection.

Between the food, service, and view this restaurant was a total hit. We got there just before they opened for dinner and they sat us immediately and brought complimentary champagne for us to sip until the kitchen opened. The fish I ordered was perfectly cooked and the octopus started was absolutely delicious. Plus the server and kitchen were incredibly accommodating for my gluten free needs.

An amazing dining experience overlooking the pristine blue waters of the Mediterranean! My only complaint were the ants that kept invading our table... such is the price one pays for the view. We began with stuffed sardines and fried, stuffed squash bottoms. Next time I think we'll just skip the starters and get right into the pasta dishes, as these were the real stars of the show. My spaghetti alla vongole was positively loaded with at least a pound of clams. The pappardelle with lobster was lovely as well and boasted half a lobster! The sauces on the two dishes tasted nearly identical due to copious use of butter and garlic, but as it was so delicious, I won't complain. We followed this up with a grilled seafood plate that featured langoustine, prawns, octopus and tuna. Not as amazing as the pasta dishes but still very good. For dessert, there was a sultry strawberry tiramisu. A true 5-star experience!

Il Pino was the best dining experience I had on the Amalfi Coast. The view of the Mediterranean was amazing from our table next to the open floor to ceiling window. During our meal, the bright blue water view turned into sunset view...it was absolutely stunning and romantic. The service at Il Pino was impeccable. We didn't feel rushed or ignored...just perfect. Our glasses were continually filled, our dishes were explained in detail, and our fresh fish was served to us table side. As soon as we were seated, we were treated to glasses of champagne, bruchetta, and 4 different types of bread along with their homemade olive oil. What a great start. We then had the artichoke and stuffed zucchini flower appetizers. Both were delicious. I loved the zucchini flowers stuffed with fresh ricotta. Sublime. We, then enjoyed our pasta course of open faced seafood ravioli and lemon and shrimp risotto. The open faced ravioli had tons of clams and mussels that were so perfectly cooked..never chewy or gummy. The lemon and shrimp risotto was served in the biggest lemon I've ever seen! This may be one of the best risottos I have ever had....it was giving the crab risotto from Minetta Tavern a run for its money. For our main course, we had the fresh local fish called cefalo prepared in a salt crust. It was served table side with a tomato and arugula salad. The fish was moist and the simple salad was so flavorful. I had the limoncello dessert and my BF had the almond cake thing which were both fantastic! We had the best evening ever! I thank my friend, Marjorie, for recommending this restaurant. I would love to go back if I ever have the chance.

Possibly the best meal and overall dining experience that my wife and I had in our 10 day trip to Italy (6 days on the Amalfi Coast).

Such a cool restaurant! The views are spectacular!! They get very busy so make reservations…read more (Although they did find room for us ). Several people had birthdays while we were there and it turned into a couple minutes of a party where we all were singing. It's a good time! Food was great and service was good.

Well, it wasn't worth building a trip around it, but we did really love Amalfi Coast so in the end it worked out. As for this restaurant, I wouldn't go for dinner. Food just isn't very good. If ur in the area already (not spending crazy $ to take a water taxi or drive a distance), stop by for a cocktail. Having a drink here is worth it if you're nearby so would definitely recommend that. The bar is the only portion that's part of the cave and truly, many places along Praiano and neighboring areas r built into the cliff so it's not all that special. Unless you're arriving via water taxi, the walk to this place is a lot so wear shoes that u love to hike in-lol. We paid an additional 15Euro/pp to have VIP seating right along the water. Not worth it. U could easily sit on the patio and have equal views and experience. One of the nice things about Europe is often that they don't rush u as much as US restaurants. Not here. They were ready to grab r order immediately and when we asked to start with a drink and appetizer then order in a bit, they told us they had to put in r complete order at 1 time. Seems odd since they were able to add drinks as needed, but whatevs. The linguini with anchovy (it was more of an essence) was amazing! Would totally recommend it and we don't even like anchovies. However, everything else was meh to bad. The lamb ribs were a pile of fat and not good. The filet was really overcooked so rough to eat. The tagliatelle with ragu had almost no meat in it. Probably spent $100usd pp without alcohol and would definitely not recommend for dinner. *Tip - if you're walking back up that huge hill after drinks/dinner, stop off at the hotel just above Il Pirate and have a cocktail or dessert there. They have an elevator that will take u up to the top street that u can use if you're either a guest or dining there. I promise u it's worth the $ for the ride.

The stairs down to the beach club / back up are no joke if you're staying in Praiano but totally worth it. We had a great day eating, drinking, and playing in the water, they supply floaties for the water which is really nice. The staff was so much fun and the music was 10/10. My husband and I needed help getting a boat taxi for the next day and the woman at the host desk was happy to help us. I cannot recommend One Fire Beach enough.

BUT we are still paying customers expecting an experience. And it's now sunny and nice out so that shouldn't have even be an excuse. Servers RARELY came over to ask if we wanted drinks. Empty drinks for an hour. I had to go up to staff who were all talking to each other. (Which they have been doing the whole time). Horrible. After talking with staff they immediately started switching out our melted ice and water which is good....BUT YOU SHOULD HAVE BEEN DOING THIS REGARDLESS RAINY OR NOT! There were 4 other dueces there..... 4. That's all. They also ask on your booking, are you celebrating anything special? Well we got married two days ago so I put that on there...I am not expecting any special treatment but why do you ask then if you don't even acknowledge it???? They haven't said one thing about it. Do not recommend. We also expressed their instagram makes the beach club seem very lively, fun and interactive...we didn't get that experience at all. They barely spoke to us and again didn't come over to ask if we wanted drinks, food, etc. What's the point of having servers?? Make it self serve or a walk up bar. Also they didn't do "melon time" because they said they had no one to cut the melon.......? 10000% not worth the money! The only reason I'm even giving it a 2 is because of the view and the drinks we did have tasted good. Edit* after I wrote this we did talk to staff..initially the woman we spoke to told my husband and I, and 2 other couples "if we don't like it we leave" WHAT?!?!? She never once said sorry or that they were wrong for all standing around and not providing service. (No joke maybe 15 staff members were working with 8 customers in the whole pool club) Then a gentleman came over who was very nice but I still don't think he was understanding what we were saying. They ended up comping our drinks which I expressed multiple times that's not what we want...simply an apology and some good service?? We will not be going back nor recommending to anyone else.
