Tucked halfway between our place and the beach club, about 500 steps of glory and true inner strength sits this little miracle called Café Mirante. We caught our breath on the top terrace, and what a view it was. The kind that hushes you quiet. The lemon cocktail was cold and sharp, dressed like it was headed to Sunday supper. The staff brought a tray of olives and chips that hit the spot,simple, perfect, and just enough to make you feel cared for. The folks here don't just serve drinks. They serve rest. They serve pause. Cannot say enough about this bar! They have great service, their drinks are unbelievable, and the view is breathtaking. I had the Amalfi Coast Mojito and it was undoubtedly the best mojito I have ever had. They come around with a round of bruschetta and other hors d'oeuvres on the house. $14 mojito and would gladly pay that every time. YES YES YES! This little bar really hits the spot of happiness. Come early for a sun downer drink - we were lucky off season tourists, that barely got the last two seats half a hour before sun down. This is the best bar in town, SERIOUSLY!! A real GEM! The bar is very cool and local but also has a mix of tourists. The owner is very sweet and runs the place with his mom. He also speaks several languages which js great. They have a really cool menu that is handmade and includes amazing cocktails. The drinks are so delicious and made with much care! Happened by this place on our walk down to the beach and vowed to stop in on our (LONG) way back up. We needed the stop and the drink! The proprietor is super-friendly and crafts excellent, unique cocktails with flair. He also plays some excellent music - we discovered an outstanding new artist (Zachary Knowles) while sipping and relaxing. As can be seen from the photos, the view defines the word "epic". I cannot recommend this bar more! We stumbled across it while walking through Praiano, trying to pass time before dinner. It's a small little bar, with AMAZING drinks and gracious hosts. Do yourself a favor and order the Amalfi Mojito. You will not be disappointed. The sunset view was perfect, and the drinks were on point. They know what they're doing here. It's places like this that makes me happy Yelp exists. We had spent the day huffing our luggage on trains from Rome to Pompeii, to Sorrento, then a bus to Praiano. We were exhausted but had time to kill before dinner so we decided to grab a drink. Cafe Mirante was the closest one from our hotel, which was about 300 steps down from where we were staying. It just so happened the sun was about to set when we finally found Cafe Mirante where the bartender was making some Amalfi mojitos. He explained he was using Amalfi lemons and limoncello and would we like some? Of course yes! We sat down and the drinks came with some snacks (nuts and chips). The view was simply breathtaking, the music was relaxing, and the drink was one of my favorite mojitos of all time. It was one of my favorite moments of my trip! read more

He uses fresh ingredients and literally cut fresh thyme from a plant in front of us as we waited for our drinks, I ordered the "Time to Thyme". Not just a bartender, he is a mixologist. Ordered several drinks and they were all spot on. The basilisco was my favorite smarter a long hike...refreshing. Like a basil gimlet. Tanqueray, soda, lines, basil. Also ordered a Moscow mule but replaced vodka with Jack Daniels (Jack Mule), adds a good spice to the drink. As a mixologist from Los Angeles we exchanged some recipes and the atmosphere was great, small venue accommodates good conversation discussing the drinks and the talent of the owner/server. He even made a special drink off the menu for the table next to me. Someone asked what he was making, he said, "Delicious", everyone laughed - he smiled. Definettly recommend this hidden gem. If you are staying anywhere on the Almafi Coast, you MUST make time for a cocktail at Cafe Mirante. The combination of breath-taking views paired with some of the best hand-crafted cocktails I have ever experienced made this a frequent stop for my wife and I during our 3 day stay in Praiano. The friendly faces behind the bar are Ciro and his mother, Maria, who both do an excellent job of making guests feel right at home. The freshest ingredients are picked right from their adjacent garden and used to make 8-9 cocktails that were carefully designed by Ciro himself. There wasn't a single drink that I didn't thoroughly enjoy, but the few that stood out were the Almafi Coast Mojito, Bloody Mary, Basilico and the Moscow Mule. If you aren't in the mood to imbibe, they also serve fresh fruit slushes as well as espresso and cappuccino. I cannot overemphasize the amount of care and passion Ciro and Maria pour into their business and I hope you all will pay them a visit on your next trip to the Almafi Coast! read more
