Booked via the Fork for ease and while it may seem like a more tourist-y spot (in the sense that the leads are always inviting folks walking by in to view the menu)...Naima is LEGIT. We wanted seafood because when in Sorrento...why not opt for super fresh seafood right by the coast?! Our server recommended a really delicious local red that was super reasonably priced and we enjoyed with said red: For Primi -- *Gnocchi alla sorrentina (Sorrento-style Gnocchi): I mean...we kinda had to get a regional specialty right? Gnocchi here is potato based instead. It was SO delicious - still perfect texture. They also served this HOT HOT HOT with melty cheese. So delicious and a really generous portion!! *Spaghettoni alle vongole (Pasta with Clams): Another favorite for us in general so figured a really fresh version could be stellar and it didn't disappoint! This slightly edged out the gnocchi for me flavor-wise, but the gnocchi was dang good so it just goes to show how DELISH this was!!! For Secondi -- *Grigliata mista di pesce (mixed grilled fish - this was an incredible plate of such fresh seafood. There was various fish, a giant prawn, octopus alll grilled & seasoned to perfection! *Swordfish special! -- apparently it was swordfish season and it was a 'fresh catch' and I feel like you could tell! Really lovely and nicely seasoned. Portions were very generous & we were way too full for dessert at this point! So you could probably eat more "American" style here (Just 1 entree instead of our approach), but the menu here is pretty stellar!!! read more

This place was bad. Tried it because of the ratings. 3 of the four meals ordered by our group were not good. Only decent one was the safe order of a pizza and even then, we had much better for less money. Waiter almost made it uncomfortable about optional extra tip. Will not go back here. read more

Saw Naima on Yelp and figured it was worth a shot. Restaurant is modern, with bright decor. Waiter was working hard! He also helped with recommendations. I had been bit by a crab a number of times at Amalfi earlier in the day. I decided to return the favor and had the excellent crab with squid ink pasta. I will say that the crab was a lot of work, it was also a delicious crab. The squid ink pasta itself was perfectly al dente. Added a second course of a local fish with cherry tomatoes, also delicious. Family enjoyed their dinner as well. read more

We enjoyed a great regional Italian dinner at Naima tonight; our favorite dining experience in Sorrento so far. We started with a nice bottle of regional white wine from Ischia which was reasonably priced at about 23 euros. For our appetizer we went for the octopus and stuffed squash blossoms, both of which were very well prepared and delicious. Despite the Italian tradition of having a pasta and then a main course, we just ordered a pasta type of dish and skipped the 2nd entree. I had the blackened noodles with calamari; so called because they use calamari ink as their liquid base. It was topped with a nice salsa featuring potatoes and calamari. My wife chose the seafood risotto which had lots of mussels, clams, squid and shrimp over a tomato based risotto. We really enjoyed both dishes. And the servers were great, professional and pleasant. So a combination of a good price, great service and delicious food made this a wonderful dining event on our voyage through southern Italy. read more

We avoided a couple of other restaraunts trying to pull people into their not-crowded restaurants on the way here and then it was also not busy around 730-800 but it had some good reviews already so we wanted to give it a go. Great seating outside on the bustling streets of Sorrento. The service was good. The food was excellent. The Sorrento gnocchi with lemon was one of the best we had in Italy. The pasta with ribs was also delicious. The wine list was very affordable and also excellent. It will be top of our list when we go back to Sorrento. read more

Really enjoyed this spot. On a main shopping street near the water. It was the first time I had seafood (shrimp) in Italy that I thought tasted fresh. My salad was also really enjoyable - it was supposed to have avocado on it but the waiter came back out because the chef said he didn't like the look of the avocado and didn't want to serve it - so they wanted to sub it with something to else of my choice. We had a great dinner at Naima! It is definitely not a tourist trap, even though it is on a busy Sorrento alley. The mussels appetizer was perfectly cooked and a bargain for $10. While in Sorrento, we started off the day wanting to get some lunch before we started exploring. It was hard to find much that didn't look super touristy, so we ended up setting on this outdoor restaurant, Naima. Prices were reasonable for such a touristy area. My dad and I each ordered a beer. I ordered a .5L of Hefeweizen for 5€ and my dad ordered a .25L of the local brew for 3€. We each ordered an entree: four different pastas. My Bella Donna was just ok, nothing special, it had olives in the vegetable ragu which made for interesting flavors. The server ground some cheese over my pasta, which was a new experience in Europe for me. It seemed like a very Americanized concept for the server to sprinkle cheese over your spaghetti. The huge cocktail menu contained drinks ranging from 7-9€, pretty affordable! It was a little too early for liquor drinking for me, especially while with my family, but it's definitely a great dinner complement. Overall it was a good meal. Nothing extraordinary but a great deal for an area that could easily be a tourist trap. read more

We came for lunch at this family owned restaurant and the experience was excellent overall. We were greet by the owners. The food was great, as well as the service. I really recommend the deserts. We got cheese cake and another creamy one with a bit o limoncello inside. Superb. The menu has been updated, so expect it a bit different than the one on 2018 pictures.
