Our shore excursion of Sorrento included a recommendation for Fauno Bar. We decided to try it. We were seated quickly and greeted by a friendly server. We ordered drinks and quick bites, namely a croissant and tiramisu. The tiramisu was some of the best I've ever had and left me craving more!

We stumbled upon this quaint little spot. The servers were very welcoming and kind! We started with caprese then I chose the eggplant and my husband had a panini. We were Both very happy with our Choices. The eggplant was so fresh & flavorful!! Hubby loved his panini as it was also very fresh & tasty!

Fauno Bar wasn't our favorite dinner spot, but we enjoyed going there for a croissant and espresso in the morning. They have other baked goods as well if croissants aren't your thing. For dinner, it was pretty noisy if you're seated on the patio. It's next to a busy intersection and the restaurant next to it has live music. We both got aperol spritzes to start, it was a pretty solid spritz. For our first course, I got the cannelloni and my wife got a charcuterie plate. The charcuterie has three types of meat and a side of olive tapenade. The cannelloni was simple but delicious. For our mains we got the swordfish filet and grilled seabass. The swordfish plate had three filets so I was working on it for quite awhile. The seabass was a more reasonable portion, but felt under seasoned. Our servers were all friendly and most of them spoke good English. We were given a shot of cherry liquor as a parting gift which was actually quite nice.

Centrally located in Piazza Tasso, Fauna Bar seems to be one of the main restaurants in the tourist hub offering a wide range of well priced cocktails, a large assortment of desserts and ice creams, pizza, pasta and much more. Imagine a cross between The Cheesecake Factory and The Old Spaghetti Factory but with authentic Italian flare. We ate there before on other trips to Sorrento, it was our first meal stop on arrival day, we were not disappointed. Friendly greeting, sat quickly, food came up fast and everything was delicious. In all we ate there 5 times on this trip, I'm posting one review to cover all. A couple of times we arrived and had to wait 15-20 minutes for a table. Instead of us lining up in front we were guided to a seat inside, where we could relax and enjoy a complimentary glass of prosecco. Wow, really great customer service. That happened twice. Each time, once seated and ordered, we received a basket of buns, olives and breadsticks - all complimentary. We ordered a lot of dishes, standouts were the Pizza, Fruitti di mare, Veal scallopini, Spaghetti Carbonara and Caprese salad. All excellent. Great service, excellent value. The menu is huge and they also offer hamburgers if you want more American fare. They seem to be open very late and tables turnover quickly.

We had to wait a few minutes for our table and were treated to a glass of prosecco while we waited.

Came in the afternoon for aperitif and returned in the evening for dinner. Great food and fantastic wine selection.

First, this place reminds of a place in time, where you meet your lover or friend/s, feeling the beauty of the ambiance this place exudes. You feel excited to get a coffee, dessert, a meal whatever the moment calls for. It's busy, it's touristy, it's the place to be. Service is fast and efficient, food is good and the view, well that's a whole other review. This staple has been here for years and I've been lucky to return many times

Great spot in the city square to enjoy some food and the atmosphere of Sorrento. We ordered 2 caffè lattes and Focaccia Capresse. The focaccia Capresse was perfect. The Focaccia was crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The fresh tomatoes and mozzarella were a great touch on top. Service was good.

Located right in the the Piazza Tasso, this was a perfect spot to enjoy meal and glass of wine while soaking in the sun in the heart of Sorrento. Yes, it's touristy, but if you want to be immersed in the scene, grab a table here and idle the time away. This central square is always bustling with people and full of energy as is Fauno Bar. If you see a table open when you pass by, go for it! The entire time I was in Italy, I indulged in pasta daily! I'm from an Italian American family and pasta was always a staple at our house. When home, I try to limit pasta to just one or twice a month but when in Italy, it was pasta and gelato and my favorite pastry, sfogiatelle, everyday! Oh, and wine, lots of red wine. The pasta carbonara here was very good, the simple ingredients of egg yolk, parmigiana reggiano and guancale coming together to make a creamy, salty savory sauce. But it was very, very rich! So we shared the pasta along with a Caprese salad for a very satisfying meal. A friend had the veal scalloping and loved it. The very thin slices of veal quickly sautéed in a lemon, caper & white wine sauce that allowed all the ingredients to shine.

Great place to people watch and have Aperitivo. It is located in the center of Piazza Tasso. I had Pimms and lemon soda twice. It was delicious both times. My friend had the Aperol Spritz and just as good. On our last evening in Sorrento, we had dinner after drinks. The Spaghetti with cherry tomatoes and basil was simple, but incredibly delicious. The waiters will leave you alone to enjoy your drinks and view and will not come to you unless you flag them down.

The food is amazing, started with fresh olives. A limoncello spritzer, the on a whim I got grilled squid salad (had grilled squid in Greece once when they ran out of o toy. 5 huge grilled tubes and the flavor was incredible. My wife had shrimp and salad. All in all, gotta hit this place if in Sorrento

We came here as it in the center of the Palazzo and the location is really nice. Other than the location we were really disappointed with the food. I got the vegetable bruscetta and it was just grilled vegetables on bread. There was no seasoning at all. My friend got a fish dish and she said the fish was really tough. She had also ordered the seafood risotto and they completely forgot about the order. The restaurant was clearly understaffed and our server barely visited our table. It was hard to even get water refills. Overall, a very disappointing experience. I would not go back.

This is a great place to have lunch, dinner, or just a drink and people watch. Our food was very good and service was great but the weather was outstanding and made it even more enjoyable to dine outside.

The restaurant is in a back alley and made for a private experience. We had three servers taking care of us and making sure we were enjoying our dining experience. The focaccia was better than any I have had. It had fresh veggies and the olive oil blended the flavors perfectly. I had the lasagna, not as good as mine at home but delicious. My daughter had the special, a lemon shrimp pasta. She said it was heavy on the lemon but fresh and delightful. I would recommend the restaurant if you have time to slow down and enjoy your food. We didn't have dessert because the serving size was just right.

To make it worse the manager tries to argue that you ate both and need to pay. Challenging since all the staff saw the waiter take it back. The waiter then corrected the bill, but the damage was done. Being insulted and called a liar is poor hospitality. Simply avoid, the positive reviews must be fake. A table of 4 next to us got up after no one went to them, after waiting for 15-20 minutes. They went across the street- wish I did the same. Incredibly awful experience. From food, to rude and ignorant staff, to bugs all over. A must miss place.

The combination of the Bay of Sorrento and Mt. Vesuvius made for stunning views. The ambiance could not have been more perfect. The service was good but relatively standard. The waiter took our drink and food orders, brought bread to the table, and served our meals. My pasta dish was flavorful and a decent portion. Honestly, I ordered so much pasta and pizza in Rome and other places throughout Italy that the experiences started to blend. However, the red sauce was perfectly seasoned, and the pasta was the perfect al dente. If I had to choose one thing that I most enjoyed about the restaurant, it would be the location first with the food as a close second.

Vesuvius and parts of the coast jutting out in the background. Especially beautiful at night when the distant lights are shining. Also, there's live music nightly! For our meal, we were served burrata, bruschetta, and some kind of fried croquette (couldn't make out what it was); everyone else got grilled eggplant, too, but my plate was missing it. Then we moved on to the ravioli and risotto, both delicious, but very rich. For the entree, we had a pork filet with a mushroom gravy that was exceptionally tender, potatoes, and baby carrots. It was very tasty but a lot of food! Then dessert came; it was the limoncello sponge cake dessert that seems to be very popular in Sorrento. The meal was followed with a shot of limoncello, but I didn't partake; everyone else said it was really strong! I would say dinner was good. Would definitely have liked to try their fresh seafood instead, though.
