    Amber Jack was a highlight

I am a pretty generous Yelp reviewer. Let's be clear here. I am a little pissed with this experience, let me share some details. This venue has two names, also goes by "the foreigner" The reason is that it's a wedding venue with a restaurant side business. You can't be good at two things concurrently. As others report, it's a prime view. You would be safe going here during the day for that. There is nothing to see at night. The building itself seems like a old Elks Club. Pretty worn. Service. I am an american but i am very understanding that service is more laid back in Europe. This is well beyond this. There is no excuse for the waiter to abandon the table for 60 minutes to go serve a banquet. No excuse. Worse, they have multiple tip jars for waiters as you exit. Insult to injury. Food. The food was actually decent on some fronts and piping hot. fresh seafood pasta B. Fresh amber jack B. Risotto too salty D. Gambioni with pasta C+ Don't go here. Want a view? Grab a panini and head to beach.

Such amazing views and such a fun vibe. Really enjoyed our time here. We didn't need a reservation and were able to just walk in around 6pm. Pricing was higher than the other restaurants around it, but you are also paying for a view. The other name for this restaurant is called the foreigners club as the Allies set up a base here during WWII which we thought was pretty cool. The food tasted great and the bruschetta was amazingggg. Definitely was a great experience

    Crappy pizza margherita

Eat here for the view, not the food or service. Was on a cruise port excursion and tour guide suggested this place. Beautiful views overlooking the bay of Naples. Overpriced food. They charge a service charge to start, then €10 for a margherita pizza with a single shriveled piece of basil and not much cheese, whereas every other restaurant off piazza Tasso charges €6. With no service charge. No tap water, but they're happy to sell you an overpriced bottle. The spaghetti Napoli (pomodoro) was fine. Servers very gruff, didn't bring check. Definitely got treated as foreigners.

Food was fantastic, great service, live music was amazing and the views-mama mia! Great experience all around!

    Citrus risotto

This place is an absolutely must visit when in Sorrento!! The views itself are something worth enjoying your meal with. The service is amazing and the staff is friendly. Went for a sunset dinner and was pleasantly surprised with a complimentary bread basket. It is rare for complimentary food to begin with in Italy in my experience. The breads were fresh and great variety. Because in Sorrento, we decided to go for their citrus risotto and it was definitely one of a kind. So fresh, so light and so refreshing! Highly recommend reserving a table in advance to enjoy this place.

Porto di Sorrento view from patio table

Found this place on my way down to Porto di Sorrento. The signage almost convinced me to keep walking as it seemed very touristy, however, another Yelp review showed some photos, so I thought stopping for a drink or coffee was a good idea. The view will NOT disappoint. A great 180° panoramic of the harbor, Vesuvio and the Napoli coastline from most of the patio tables. They brought the menu and the prices and selections were decent, so I ended-up staying for lunch. There is a bar menu as well as the full restaurant menu. A Vegetarian section is included as well, but assumes that you eat dairy, so check carefully. Menu is multi-lingual covering Italian, English, French and a few others. The staff was fairly prompt and courteous. My selections were simple: tomato salad with mozzarella (Caprese), housemade flat noodles with grilled vegetables, garlic and olive oil, and a fresh-squeezed orange juice and botled water. All were tasty - and the noodles were cooked perfectly al dente versus overdone (I am surprised at how many other local places overcook their pasta). Tje table next to me had Tiramisu and Panna Cotta which both looked tasty, but I was too full to consider dessert. Total bill ran ~€22,00 but with wine, coffee and dessert average would be closer to €40. Was pleasantly surprised, and would recommend if you are in the area.

Beautiful view and excellent service. The food was delicious! We had a tomato salad and two kinds of pastas...will definitely return here one day

I saw Swordfish on the menu, but looks like I couldn't order it.

The food here is expensive and the portions are really small! They did have a large menu, but I think the other stuff was for dinner time. I wanted to have some of their seafood pasta but it wasn't available for lunch time. The best part of eating here was the view of the ocean from the table I ate at.

Fettuccine Alfredo (?) That's what I ordered off the menu
    Andrew F.

Very pretty view for a restaurant, prices seem okay, the food is not much unless you order a pizza where you get the most bang for your euro. Service is okay. I ordered a Fettucini Alfredo and apparently it's not what I'd expect but it was okay pasta. The pineapple is the tastiest I've ever tasted on a pizza, but of course I've only had it on pizzas in America. Review is at 4 stars because of the view.

Pubic Hair spread over cheese tray!

DO NOT EAT HERE! Beautiful trip to sorrento for the day- stopped in to have lunch with water view...we were not treated the same as locals -provided paper napkins versus cloth napkins- when we inquired we were told it was a different dining time. Ordered a cheese tray- there were 6-8 pieces of pubic hair spread over the pieces of cheese. We were told to order our drinks and food at same time, no one came back to check on us to refill drinks or ask how the food was. Mold also on cheese- see picture below.

The restaurant is in a back alley and made for a private experience. We had three servers taking care of us and making sure we were enjoying our dining experience. The focaccia was better than any I have had. It had fresh veggies and the olive oil blended the flavors perfectly. I had the lasagna, not as good as mine at home but delicious. My daughter had the special, a lemon shrimp pasta. She said it was heavy on the lemon but fresh and delightful. I would recommend the restaurant if you have time to slow down and enjoy your food. We didn't have dessert because the serving size was just right.

To make it worse the manager tries to argue that you ate both and need to pay. Challenging since all the staff saw the waiter take it back. The waiter then corrected the bill, but the damage was done. Being insulted and called a liar is poor hospitality. Simply avoid, the positive reviews must be fake. A table of 4 next to us got up after no one went to them, after waiting for 15-20 minutes. They went across the street- wish I did the same. Incredibly awful experience. From food, to rude and ignorant staff, to bugs all over. A must miss place.

They had complimentary snacks-potato chips, nuts, and this amazing pizza flavored crunchy snack-if only we had this one back home. Service was quick and friendly. There are other items in the menu ranging from pizza to panini to some anti pasta. id Stick with the drinks, espress, gelato and pastry. The sfogiatelle was $2 and had the crispy outer shell and creamy orange flavored ricotta baked inside. I was happy with my treat, especially enjoying it with the view and people watching since this is a crowded area.
