Amazing hotel and the bartender at the pool, Rosario, was fantastic. Makes great drinks and was an amazing guy all around. He made our trip!

I just ended a wonderful stay here at this classic seaside hotel in Postiano. Unless you have easy to navigate (and lift) luggage, I suggest you opt for the €10 per bag during the day and €20 per bag in the evening and overnight. They're serious when they tell you that it's a distance from the roadway through the pedestrian pathways. Be sure to set the hotel in your GPS as the signage down drops off at times and you'll wind up having to ask for assistance. If it's during tourist season, you'll have massive amounts of people to navigate past. That said, once you arrive, you are greeting by a relaxing and welcoming setting. The rooms themselves are lovely - a mix of mid century classic Italian/Amalfi along with some modern touches. The rooms are lined with Italian tiles that are soft to the touch. I opted for a balcony with view and I'm really glad I did as I have a gorgeous view along with seaside smells throughout my stay. I often left my balcony doors open overnight for both the ocean sound & smell experience. The one negative is that it occasionally gets loud or smelly from the fuel of the continually loading and unloading of passenger ferrys which are literally steps away from the hotel. Be sure to spend time at the glorious pool as the staff are attentive and the comfort is extreme with absolutely stunning views on top of it all as the lounges face out towards the sea and mountains. The restaurants - both Savino and the breakfast area are staffed with helpful and friendly folks - especially the hosts themselves who want to ensure you have a great experience. My dinner was one of the best meals in Amafli and breakfast was plentiful and fresh each morning - again both featuring stunning views. The property was clean and well maintained and the front desk and concierge team were absolutely outstanding and willing to ensure you have a great experience in Italy. It was the best decision to stay in Positano as it totally cleared of tourists by ~5P which made for a truly magical setting throughout the seaside and adjacent hills. read more

I'm going to cut to the point... AWFUL! Don't waste a meal here. This in a great location but the food quality was absolutely a joke. This was the worst tuna tartare and Caesar salad I've had in my life. The chicken was disgusting, it's like it was cooked a week ago and they just heated it up, it was inedible. The tuna tartare had awful quality tuna and was behind bland, no sauce, flavor, or salt. The pasta was mediocre. The drinks weren't even made right... This hotel is beautiful. Not only that , the staff is absolutely amazing. From the front desk to the staff at the pool ! Rosario and Augusto made our stay at the pool so enjoyable. They were attentive and pleasant ! People say you have to go else where to see the sights but my husband and I were so happy to stay and relax by the pool as part of our Positano experience. The views are breath taking and the hotel is very relaxing . The restaurants are also wonderful. The breakfast is delicious as well as dinner at "Savinos". Housekeeping was impeccable and our room was kept in pristine condition. I especially enjoyed the turn down service in the evening , along with the fresh towels. No one can resist the charm of a well-cooked pasta dish - it's shell-fie worthy! These pasta dishes were sooooooo good! And the desset deserves its own post, so check it out! The view was amazing and so was the bread basket. The was very fresh and we both devoured the food as fast as we could! This crème brûlée is on the presentation was incredible and the taste...EVEN BETTER! It is as good as it looks, honestly even better then it looks! I have read a few of the reviews of this hotel and now having experienced their service I agree that you should be very wary. I always give an establishment the opportunity to make things right after we explain their lack of service, but they listened but did nothing to help compensate our inconvenience. We stayed at one of their Junior Suites with hot-tub, king size bed and money was not a major concern. What occurred was that our tour company arranged to have their guide meet us at the lobby but their front desk assistant in the morning told us that they received several calls instructing us to meet them at the parking facility on the main road. This was NOT true! We doubted her statements, she did not give the name of the person who called nor a correct number to call them. She also did not give us a map as we explained that we never have the opportunity to walk any of the pathways prior. Her instructions had us walking 45 minutes of continuous steep steps which exacerbated my wife's bad hip condition, and her instructions directed us a mile away from the meeting point. We had to take a taxi to the meeting spot which cost us $35 Euros to drive us less than 2 kilometers. This also cost us approximately 2 hours of our valuable tour time. Our travel company confirmed that they did NOT instruct us to meet at the parking place and their guide went to our hotel 3 times in vain. The hotel manager acted concerned but did NOT compensate us in any way. Please be wary of choosing this hotel as their poor service may impact your trip. read more

Came here for lunch during our stay in Positano. We arrived before the restaurant opened and the server recommended we grab a drink at the bar, which we did. Drinks and snacks in the bar were delicious. Once opened, we headed to our table, which had a fantastic view of the sea. We were served a small appetizer, which was delicious. We ordered the frutti di mare and pasta with meatballs, which the server recommended. Both of the pastas were hand made and delicious! Service was great! We came here on a very quiet day during lunchtime and were very pleasantly surprised by the food and service. This nice casual restaurant is located right next to the ferry port and main beach of Positano, and is the perfect spot to hangout and relax with a group of people. I ordered an affogatto and some gnocchi, both of which were very delicious and large. The gnocchi in particular was very warm and cheesy, and the perfect food for a chilly day on the coast. read more

My wife and I recently stayed at the Covo dei Saraceni hotel in Positano, we had used the Hotel / Concierge to have items secured and shipped which we purchased while supporting and visiting a family run Limoncello and Olive Oil farm in Sorrento, we also purchased some additional bottles of Limoncello & Melloncello at another stop in Sorento's City Center again to support the local economy. We didn't want to take the items and extra weight on the balance of our trip so, we asked if the hotel had services where they could have our items shipped to the US which they did. We filed out the appropriate paperwork provided our Credit Card information to pay for the shipment and went about our trip. When we arrived home, I inquired with both the Hotel & Mail Boxes Etc. in Positano on tracking information and status of our shipment, I had to follow up a second time only to get a response 2 days later stating your package's will arrive today, Great Right!. No so fast, sure enough package has arrived and now the issue comes into play, half of our items which ironically were the Limoncello, Melloncello, and Olive Oil were all missing. I immediately went to the FedEx tracking information to check the information and sure enough the weight of the package matched what was shipped however, clearly the missing items which would've been more than 13.7 lbs / 6.21 kgs alone, the information also showed only 1 package associated with the FedEx tracking number, I placed the box on the scale with the clothing items and leather pocketbooks which matched the FedEx information which further proves my argument of the items not shipping. I have repeatedly tried to get this resolved between the Hotel & Mail Boxes Etc. only to be provided false information and told by the Hotel there's nothing they can do "your 2 boxes" delivered and to take it up with FedEx. Again the photo FedEx took and tracking info have 1 box associated with that delivery, although there's a much smaller package in the photo from FedEx it has nothing to do with the shipment from Positano and no other information has been provided. The right thing for the hotel to do would be to replace the items and have them shipped to me. read more

Was put in charge of finding a dinner place one of our nights in Positano and am so happy we gave this place a shot. It was a little chilly, but the place still had heat lamps and were able to open the front so we could still get that beautiful view. Went with the red snapper, which was fluffy and nice. Loved the lobster linguine, so perfectly al dente. The service was impeccable, my purse even got a little chair which I thought was hilarious but amazing because it did need somewhere sit. The coolest part of the meal, was being presented the fresh catch of the day where we got to see each of the actual fish we could eat laid out on a plate. read more

Our favorite place to stop for a drink, pizza and a view in Positano. Located in our hotel it was very convenient to stop by for lunch the two days we were there. The service was great, and the gentleman behind the bar who appeared to be the manager is studying for his sommelier exam so he was very helpful with wine suggestions and just great conversation. Our favorite pizza was the margarita, it was better than in Naples! We also had the pizza with salami which was good and then a pizza with salami/artichokes/mushrooms which was ok. That was definitely my least favorite. The view from the patio is an unbeatable view of positano! Grab a drink, settle in and people watch. read more

Best Espresso Martinis in Positano. Rosario and Mauritzio are the best bartenders I've encountered here in Italy. They made every night such a pleasure. Truly made the trip memorable. The service here is great! Had a really delicious pizza and the gelato was better than most. I also had..I forget what it's called, maybe lemon sorbet? It's in a huge lemon and probably my favorite thing I consumed the entire trip. We made several visits to this restaurant throughout our stay. I would recommend this place for breakfast, lunch, dinner, desert. The quality was much better than the other places in the square. read more

Overrated! Don't waste your time After hearing great things about this restaurant my husband and I decided to dine here one evening while staying a week in Positano. This was by far the worst meal we had; particularly driven by the disrespectful wait staff and maitre de! We were under the impression that because this was a 4 star restaurant we would have been treated with at least some respect, man were we wrong! The staff made 2 errors with our meal and instead of apologizing and just taking ownership, they decided to be arrogant and rude. The food itself was also just ok. We had eaten at many other places that we were more pleased with! Not only were the portions small and the food was just OK but it was outrageously overpriced. Come here to be seated for the view of the water, not to eat the food or the service. The service is incredibly rash and wants to get you out asap. The food is incredibly overpriced for the taste. One tea is 9 euros. You can go to any other cafe for a similar view and pay a third of that and get better service along with it. We had minestrone soup for 18 euros and maybe five pieces of a vegetarian ravioli for 20 euros. We were not impressed. The ambiance is beautiful and it's a restaurant that you go to for the experience of dressing up, receiving compliments of the chef and seeing a beautiful interior of the restaurant. read more

Based on our experience, I can't imagine the staff wouldn't make things right, unless the customer was somehow rude or didn't speak up about an error. On to the real review. Covo dei Saraceni is split into a ristorante upstairs and a brasserie/pizzeria/gelateria downstairs. We ate at both and loved them. Service was incomparably friendly and attentive, and the food was classic and delicious. At the ristorante, we ordered one dessert each but ended up with three! A "present from the chef" arrived before the desserts we ordered, and a complimentary dessert tasting plate came just when we thought we were finished. The wine recommendation was spot-on. And the pizza was great--not the best-ever, but fresh and tasty for a quick lunch. If you're in the area, don't hesitate to go. The views are killer, too. read more

I loved this restaurant! The service was great and the food was good. It's a little bit on the pricer side but I didn't mind it since it's elevated from the walkway so even though you felt like you were in the thick of things, you didn't have to constantly smell smoke or feel like someone was going to walk into your table. We had the smoked buffalo mozarella, bacon and mushroom pizza which was delicious and the artichoke appetizer. This was good after picking off the floral herb. This is for the brasserie at the bottom level. Of all the place I ate in Positano, this one offered the worst combination of quality and price. They benefit from a prime location right on the beach and close to where the tourist boats drop off. While the view of the beach is great, the food is nothing to write home about. I had a pasta with clams which was every bit as good as what I could whip up myself with a box of Barilla and some clams from the supermarket, and I paid €20 for the pleasure. The service is fine - not bad, not exceptional. In general, I found the higher up the hill you go, the better the cuisine tends to be. This spot is at the bottom of the hill. My wife and I just enjoyed a fabulous evening at Covo dei Saranceni. The staff was amazing, personable & attentive, the wine list offered a surprisingly wide selection of reasonably prices wines, the atmosphere was very comfortable - candle lit tables overlooking the water, relaxing music and very little outside distractions. We both selected the 7 course tasting, every plate was perfect! The staff, location and food added up to a great evening! We got gelato at their little cafe. We were supposed to have a double scoop of a single flavor, but since we only mentioned one flavor, they gave us a single scoop; yet they charged us the same price as a double.
