Stopped in for dinner after a long day of touring in Pompeii. We passed a Michelin-starred restaurant to dine here. It was definitely worth it. The restaurant is in a back alley and made for a private experience. We had three servers taking care of us and making sure we were enjoying our dining experience. The focaccia was better than any I have had. It had fresh veggies and the olive oil blended the flavors perfectly. I had the lasagna, not as good as mine at home but delicious. My daughter had the special, a lemon shrimp pasta. She said it was heavy on the lemon but fresh and delightful. I would recommend the restaurant if you have time to slow down and enjoy your food. Raw Chicken Milanese. Not only do they serve raw chicken, they then try to charge you for both (including the one you send back.) To make it worse the manager tries to argue that you ate both and need to pay. Challenging since all the staff saw the waiter take it back. The waiter then corrected the bill, but the damage was done. Being insulted and called a liar is poor hospitality. Simply avoid, the positive reviews must be fake. A table of 4 next to us got up after no one went to them, after waiting for 15-20 minutes. They went across the street- wish I did the same. Incredibly awful experience. From food, to rude and ignorant staff, to bugs all over. A must miss place. read more

Amazing food, service and wow what a view, this table only for the adventurous romantic (only 2 table top on balcony, another is behind but you don't get the view)...you will need to reserve this table for 2 for sure if possible. We stumbled upon this place on our way up from the ferry to the main part of the town. They have the kindest owners. There were 15 of us and they had more than enough tables, even outside, to accommodate. Food was excellent and fairly cheap, and drinks were great. They had a lot of drink options, including pina coladas, wine, spritz, and more. I had the ravioli which had fresh tomato sauce that tasted amazing, but everyone's dishes were great. The owner allowed us to keep our luggage there until our AirBnB was ready, free of charge. Sitting outside was amazing. read more

The restaurant is conveniently located on a side street, so we dont have all of the noise (except for the customer and the loud patrons) outdoor eating. My wife had a pizza Primavera and loved it, I had the fillet of Seabass and thought it was very fresh and enjoyable, although not very creative. Gin and tonic was a little bit weak on the gin... We stopped there for a rest on a busy day in Sorrento. They were very helpful and open around 11:00 am. They suggested bruschetta. It was the best we ever had. A nice little Italian spot you will find in the heart of downtown Sorrento, Italy. Although my table underneath the canvas tent wasn't the most elegant the surface, and my Branzino white fish made up for it. I started off with some beef carpaccio to kick off my solo meal while I people watched and sipped on some Italian wine. It's run by brothers and sisters and daughters and nephews, with bouncy 60s jazz playing, and it's everything you want from a restaurant in Italy. A good time! La Dolce Vita! Was in Sorrento and wanted some fresh mozzarella and prosciutto. Sign in front of the restaurant said the family made their own mozzarella Buffala so ordered two plates as a meal. Prosciutto was good but only four thin slices of mozzarella that was dry and tasteless. Very disappointed. Waitress was initially friendly then didn't see her for rest of evening except on way out. We visited in August and I have been meaning to write a review for Guarracino ever since. We had a wonderful time and our server, Stefan, was an absolute joy. He was so knowledgeable and passionate about the food, and the taste exceeded all of my expectations- which were very high. We had the mozzarella platter and WOW - it was amazing. I'm not proud that two of us finished the entire sampler of four mozzarellas. It was complete when Stefan picked a fresh piece of basil off of a plant behind us to garnish the dish. Seafood pasta was not on the menu, but when I told Stefan that was what I was hoping for, he eagerly made sure that I received the meal I desired - even over my objections that I could find something on the menu. We arrived a little late, not knowing the restaurant was about to close and we were made to feel extremely comfortable even after the restaurant was technically closed. That is itself is a feat in an area full of tourist traps. This is the kind of dining experience you hope for in southern Italy. Thank you, Stefan - we can't wait to return. Amazing cocktails! A wide variety featuring all the classics and some new ones too! The mojito was delicious and the piña colada was so expertly crafted. I have been all over Italy. Milan, Rome, Naples, Padua, Venice, Florence, Pisa etc. Unequivocally, this is the best meal I have had in the entire country. Great service from a staff that is there to guide you through the menu and provides ample suggestions based on your taste. Strongly suggest the "special" buffalo mozzarella (smoked) antipasti and the gnocchi di Gorgonzola. If you are uninspired or unhappy, you have done something wrong. If there were any more stars to give I would not hesitate. read more
