This is one of the oldest restaurants on the beach. It looked like a total tourist trap, so we avoided it until we got several recommendations. I am glad we went. The food was excellent and the service was better than expected, given how busy it was. And of course, being on the beach was great. They do great gluten-free pasta, but no gluten-free pizza is available. So it turns out that you can do great food and service at a tourist trap restaurant. read more

We did not have a reservation here, but we were able to be seated for dinner. I got the pasta with fresh zucchini. It was very delicious and my husband got the gnocchi with mozzarella, which he enjoyed. My husband got an old-fashioned which he thought was phenomenal! Exquisite food and service. We visited in early September. The weather was lovely and we sat outside. It's right on the beach and as lovely a setting as one can imagine. We started with mussels and flash fried fresh anchovies. AMAZING. I will never be able to eat Italian food in the U.S. again. We also had some amazing seafood pasta along with some red snapper. This meal was one of the top 5 best meals I have ever had, ever. Do not order a steak, or chicken. Order seafood, you will never have fresher, sweeter seafood. Great little wine bar in Positano. Excellent selection of wine, limited food. Most of the servers are extremely knowledgeable especially on the local wines. Highly recommend. And dont overlook a limoncello spritz. I'm not a big fan of limoncello normally but in Spritz form, its an absolutely refreshing summer drink. read more

My husband wanted to visit Three Sisters because he'd previously been there with his family. It felt like your typical touristy restaurant along the Positano beachfront. Tables were crammed pretty tight together to accommodate as many guests as possible. We were seated within a few minutes and given menus that were super dirty. Like I felt gross touching them. But I supposed that was the worst thing about this restaurant so I can't deduct too many points, especially when they have 5€ Prosecco. Now that's dangerous. For dinner, I decided on the spaghetti alla putanesca, with salted anchovies, olives, capers, and cherry tomatoes. It was our last night in Italy, and I wanted to enjoy as much pasta and seafood as I could. It was a delicious dish, and I savored every last bite. Being the last meal on our honeymoon, I just had to save room for tiramisu, which I'd failed to do thus far. It was very rich and chocolatey but worth the wait. Overall, Le Tre Sorelle wasn't one of my favorite restaurants in Italy but definitely a memorable one. read more

This was a fairly average place. It had a great location right by the water. The restaurant was clean and lovely. The service was very friendly and made time to chats with every table. The food itself was ok. I got the seafood soup and it was an amazing portion. It tasted fresh and had a good balance of difference foods.y only problem was the amount of sand left over in the shells. On a recommendation my wife and I along with two friends visited Le Tre Sorelle (Three Sisters) for lunch. The restaurant is located down by the beach in Positano and offered beautiful views while we were dining. The menu was extensive but when in Italy I usually order some form of pasta as I feel I can get the "other stuff" no matter how good here almost anywhere. Right or wrong with that idea I ordered spaghetti with prawns. I saw prawns on someone 's plate while being led to our table and thought that "sealed the deal". Three of us ended up with spaghetti with prawns and the fourth ordered gnocchi. The spaghetti was heavenly with a very subtle marinara sauce. Prawns were good size and had that "steak texture" I enjoy. Like the spaghetti, the gnocchi was freshly made and was as light as I've ever tasted. Since a lot of sharing took place. I was able to enjoy the gnocchi as well. We all had different wine choices so instead of ordering a bottle, we enjoyed glasses of Barolo, Chianti Classico and a nice Chardonnay. Service was flawless and while we were waiting for our order, they brought us some complimentary bruschetta. What a great way to experience a carb overload. The food is so wonderful in Italy, you almost forget about the beauty of the area. Positano is about as beautiful a place I've ever seen. read more

The food was 'good' but the service was, to put it blunt RUDE. I went up to ask for a table for 4 and was told to wait on the side to see if he could get us a table possibly - after 10 minutes my father, (native Italian), went up to also ask for a table for 4 and was immediately helped and given a table...no problem. Then the waiter proceeded to tell me I can't order wine with him, only food. Ok, no problem. We order food then asked my husband and father what they want to drink. When I said why can't I put my wine order in only my dad he then switches languages to discuss this with my dad. And tells him I'm being "mad". It was so incredibly rude we should have left. We were not offered dessert and given a bill to leave no coffee or anything. Horrible staff - very rude go somewhere else there are so many restaurants you can get equally decent food with actually nice people! Skip it. read more

Came here for dinner and it was alright, but really a mediocre meal overall. The next day we went to it's sister wine shop to buy some lemoncello and have it shipped back to the United States. When we received the bottles they all had little spots of mold in them, which should not be able to happen in authentic lemoncello, and after daring to try a sip found it had definitely gone bad. After sending pictures of the mold and receipts we were told to ship the bottles back to them. Unfortunately you cannot ship bottles of wine in the U.S. without a license, so we were told there was "nothing they can do." Definitely avoid their wine room and honestly if this is how they treat customers I'd recommend avoiding all Le Tre Sorelle establishments in Positano. read more

We were very pleased with how tasty and fresh it was. For my entree, I ordered the Frutti di Mare. It had shrimp, clams, and mussels. It was so light and fresh and tasty. I would definitely recommend if looking for a light and tasty seafood pasta. The service here was phenomenal! Our server as well as other servers and bussers were so kind and extremely attentive. We were very well taken care and they made sure that we were enjoying ourselves as well as our meals. This place is unbelievably cute! It's indoor/outdoor seating right on the beach with branded glazed plates. Very good service and atmosphere. There were very reasonably priced but delicious Prosecco for the table. We had a plain marinara and mozzarella pizza as an appetizer (a group of 5 and we all got a good size piece) which came out quickly and was simple but satisfying. We also ordered oysters (a little expensive but they were big and worth it - served with lemon) and ricotta stuffed zucchini flowers - very good! For the main entrees we ordered 2 pastas to share and they gave us plates to serve as we liked. We got the pesto pasta (the pesto was so fresh, I couldn't stop eating this) and a tomato sauce gnocchi (nothing too unique, but good.) I'm sure you couldn't go wrong with any of the pizzas or pastas here! read more

Came by for a quick lunch while waiting for the clouds to part on the beach. Place was packed with a line which we (accidentally? :o ) circumvented. Started with a salad which had Sorrento tomatoes and 3 kinds of mozzarella and a sprinkling of oregano, solid and simple start. Then came the grilled seafood entree which was disappointing - across the board all was over cooked: prawn, fish, calamari and sardines, to the point we were dipping in olive oil to add some moistness. The water glass had lipstick on it ( not mine) and we never received the chili oil requested (an attempt to add moistness/flavor to the seafood). To be seated, make sure to flag down someone who works there and they will have you sit by the cement bench right in front of the restaurant. Wait wasn't too long (maybe about 5 minutes)..we were seated right away. You will also get a wonderful view of the beach. We ordered the: -grilled octopus: omg! Mouthwatering delicious! I love how they pair it with mashed potatoes. They went well together. -pumpkin ravioli: Not our fave. The sauce tasted like the sauce that you would get from chef boyardee. Besides that the texture of the ravioli and the cheese was great...the sauce overpowered this dish. -frutti di mare: fantastic! I normally don't like this type of dish but it was amazing here! If you come here, I would recommend getting the seafood dishes. Overall, the service was great and I enjoyed most our dishes (2out of 3) with our wine. :) read more

Our favorite meal in Positano, Italy was lunch at Le Tre Sorelle. The seafood was so fresh, the waiters were so friendly and treated us like family, and the seaside view was beautiful. All of our meals in Positano paled in comparison to our meal at Le Tre Sorelle. I wish we would have dined here more during our stay in Positano. We had fun trying to break the language barrier with our waiter. His English was actually pretty good! My Italian is terrible so we had a few laughs while I attempted to order our food and speak a little small-talk in broken Italian. We started off our meal with the "Frutti de Mare", an incredible seafood sampler platter that included shrimp, prawns, calamari and other fresh seafood. For our second course we had the Pumpkin Ravioli. This dish was very light and flavorful. For our main course we had the Catch-of-the-Day baked and served in a white wine sauce with tomatoes, capers, olives and potatoes. We were so full that we skipped dessert and just had espresso. Our waiter brought us some complimentary limoncello and biscotti so that we could end our meal on a sweet note. He also went out of his way to give us postcards to mail to our mom and mother-in-law with the restaurant's original three sisters on the postcards. If you are visiting Positano this restaurant is to not be missed! read more

I don't think you can say you've done Positano if you have not been here. This restaurant is the essence of Positano: sweeping views, beach front, fresh seafood, and bright colors right down to the plates. We ate lunch and dinner here in our 8 day stay. For lunch we split an arugula and tomato salad and a rigatoni dish with meat. Unfortunately I cannot remember the name. The pasta was so delicious but almost too rich. We savored every bite but did not eat a lot of it. The arugula salad was the highlight of that meal, and we talked about it often on our trip. We even went to great lengths to re-create it at a restaurant in Rome, which was a fail. It was so simple: arugula, parm, and fresh, bright red tomatoes with a simple vinaigrette. I think it was the freshness of the vegetables that made this salad such a stand-out. Also, when you've been eating nothing but carbs all trip this was really the break we needed. We loved it so much we now make this at home weekly. We also came for a tasting dinner, which was so wonderful. We got to try almost everything including calamari, bruschetta, pasta with zucchini (again forgot the name), tiramisu, and more. We loved everything to the point we ate too much early on in the tasting and couldn't enjoy the items at the end. The highlight was by far the zucchini pasta. Service was exceptional and the view even better. It was a great night on our Italian Honeymoon. We appreciate the restaurant making us feel so special. read more

Located right on the water next to Chez Black I would say I liked this place even more. It felt less touristy and more authentic. The bread was fresh the drinks and food came out quickly. Everything from the sauce to the texture of the pasta made my heart sing. A storm passed through while we were eating and even though it is a half inside half outside restaurant we were able to stay completely dry. Water was pretty expensive just coming from the US where tap water is free and we weren't presented with an option to not order it so we did out of obligation. The food is also a little pricey especially coming from Napolis but I would say it was definitely worth it and you cant beat being right on the beach. read more

The good: nice setting on the waterfront, although at night you can't see too much other than a few Boat lights in the sea. It is a happening scene with lots of young people dining here and mingling here. We liked the bread. Mozzarella/burrata cheese were very good. The service was reasonably good. Complimentary Limoncello. Impressive extensive wine list. Nice pottery serving plates. Room for improvement: The food was mostly mediocre or worse. For example, the tomatoes that came with the cheese were sadly reminiscent of winter tomatoes back home in Colorado and nothing like the others we have enjoyed on this trip. Focaccia was very flat, tasteless, and bland. Grilled octopus was mushy on one side and nicely crisp on the other side. Calimari fritte just OK but improved on my request for sauce. Prices for some dishes are actually reasonable compared to the other restaurants along the beach front! Everything was good but not blow-your-mind-amazing. My only complaint really is that we ordered the pasta with anchovy and there was only ONE TINY PIECE in the entire pasta...why?!!! Mussels were good. Fried prawns and calamari was fine but the prawns were small af. Eggplant dish wasn't bad but pre-prepped and reheated. Amazing all around! The waiters were awesome and did a great job making you feel at home and complied with any dietary restrictions. My husband is rather annoying with food and has the strangest requests and his pasta came out perfect. The buffalo mozzarella and tomato is to die for and both of or pastas, i got the rigatoni eggplant and he got the gnocchi, were absolutely amazing!! We had our last meal in Positano here at Ristorante Le Tre Sorelle. Located right on the beach, it's definitely a touristy place but the food is good, the servers are really nice and you can have anything from pasta to pizza, seafood to salads. Not haute cuisine by any means, but does a pretty good job for what it is. The menu is pretty similar at all the places along the beach. We came without a reservation on a Saturday night which was a risk but they were able to squeeze us in but it was off season so don't try this during high season. I had the seafood risotto, a little greasy but good and the stuffed zucchini flowers were delicious that I had as a starter. The winner of the night was the local bottle of wine that the server suggested to us. Not pricey but absolutely delicious! Can't miss this place as it's right on the beach. We enjoyed 2 nights in Casal Velino at the hotel Le Tre Sorrelle. Franca opened the restaurant for us(off-season), because we had a large group(10) and we agreed to eat 2 nights. She did a wonderful job and provided 2 excellent dinners. We had dinners that exceeded our expectations, and were so tasty. Seafood, fresh bread, fresh vegetables, and desserts to compliment the meal. The wine was delicious as well, it is Italy after all. The meal was served with attention to detail, and the whole staff was so pleasant and welcoming. The view at the hotel and restaurant are wonderful as well. read more
