Specifically the stickers I was looking for (they are at the left side of the bar, FWIW). A watering hole on a disc golf course is a phenomenal idea! I may go back just for the disc golf. The reason for the low score was simply the plastic cups and kind of lukewarm beer. With a UT game going in the background (vs. Florida), beer in a plastic cup was kind of a cheap-shot, college keg-party feel. Not very dignified, especially for the price. Food smelled amazing, but I limited my intake to one lukewarm IPA and then moved along without the nosh. I don't know if they were out of glasses, or if the crowd surge called for drastic measures, but I'll leave well-enough alone for now and maybe revisit in the future, hoping for a proper pour in a proper glass. The beer deserves a glass glass, not cheap plastic. There are a ton of breweries in the area (and East Austin in general) to check out, so the day wasn't a disappointment. My past experience at the other ABW location was a blast and really memorable. This one fell a bit short of that, I'm sorry to say. Hopefully a second-chance next time will come with some redemption.

It was not very crowded because it was midweek, but it was a great place to be able to go have drinks with family and hang out there as long as we wanted to. They have a small parking lot in back, street parking in front and down the street. I saw several people just hanging out inside with their laptops and others hanging outside with their dogs. In fact quite a few breweries I guess go about their beer recipes differently than the PNW or the mountain states. Some people say it's the mountain water that adds to and is critical to a well made craft beer. So being in a different region and state that isn't in these areas I kind of was at times just a bit underwhelmed with some of the breweries we went to. They weren't necessarily bad but it wasn't what I was accustomed to I suppose. But there were a few breweries that were highly impressive and Southern Heights Brewery was one if them. Steve got a really good dark beer but I got an IPA that was really amazing. It was the Evergreen Terrace IPA. This was so good and very highly refreshing. Some IPA'S taste wise kind if blur together as far how memorable the drinking experience winds up being but this one was quite impressive and the rollout of the flavor profile was just great. Flavor highlights with this beer are piney, fruity, hoppy and a very appropriate amount of bitterness. It's also light bodied so the feel of this beer isn't likely to feel like a weight in your stomach which you definitely don't want if you come across a hot Texas day.

It's in a scenic part of Austin, amongst the hills and close to Lake Travis. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, and my favorite was the live music stage set up on top of the bed of a vintage truck outside. For this brewery Steven and I tried one of their beers. We wanted a lighter beer and on the refreshing side since it was a warmer day we were encountering so we got the Dye-It Pils. As the name is a abbreviated in the beer it is a pilsner in beer type and hit the spot nicely. Flavors to enjoy with this beer are a hint of breadiness, crisp, a hint of sour and a clean finish. The beer is light bodied which is perfect for hot weather and bright in color. The taproom for Infamous is cool... it is located in a garage or shed. At least that's the impression I got with the taproom. It was a great place to kick back and relax.

He tried both the 1942 and the Vista IPA--while he enjoyed both, the Vista IPA was the winner. Since I'm pregnant, I opted for their homemade root beer, and it was absolutely delicious! We went on a Sunday and were pleasantly surprised to find a farmers market happening. We picked up some fresh veggies and a flavorful garlic pesto hummus--such a great touch to support local vendors. The atmosphere was laid-back and welcoming, and it's clear this brewery is all about community. We can't wait to come back--definitely a must-visit in Lago Vista!

Coming from Jonestown look to your right you can see the tanks, on the hill, as you pass the only LV stoplight. There is plenty of parking and there is a very large patio and with picnic benches and an umbrellas for shade. The patio is mutt and kiddo friendly. There is also a smaller patio by the entrance that is also covered. Hungry? A food truck was on site on the Saturday that we visited. Onto the brews. My first beer was the Gold Bars, Babe Czech Pale Lager. This is a perfect Czech pale that is light and crisp and perfect for a hot afternoon. Plus one ordered the Bronco Blonde Blonde Ale. It drank very light and was a great example of Blonde Ales that most breweries offer. I also sampled their Chairman of the Board Italian Grape Ale. Since we just visited Flat Creek winery I took a flyer on this beer as it is aged in Flat Creek's French oak Cab barrels. It was very complex/interesting but not my cup of tea/beer. They have some other interesting brews that I can't wait to try like their IPAs, ambers, and Italian pilsner. Not a beer person they offer wine and a cider. Do check out the Flat Creek bubbles it is truly wonderful. Service was excellent and we were cheerfully offered samples. One nit they had live music on Sat and the very talented gentleman playing was severely compromised by the terrible building acoustics. I would suggest adding bafflers. Strong 4 stars! Support these guys!!!
