I purchased my vehicle on October 6, 2025, and in less than three months I discovered major problems. There is a gasket leak at the back of the engine, with oil dripping all over the bottom of the vehicle. This is severe negligence and clearly shows the vehicle was either poorly inspected or knowingly sold with defects. These are not wear-and-tear issues -- they are serious engine problems that should never happen so soon after purchase. This experience has been stressful, expensive, and unacceptable. I would strongly advise anyone to stay away unless you want to deal with costly repairs right after buying a car. read more

I get buying something "As is", and I also expect some low-cost maintenance and repairs, but when the sales guys look you in the eye, say everything is fine, and if not, they'll take care of you, they're lying. I have not had my bike two months, and so far, I have had to replace the battery, the brake master cylinder, and a switch in the front brake. Harley Davidson deemed the bike "Unsafe to ride". The salesman I worked with was named Tony. This guy said whatever he could to get me in a bike, even if that meant getting me to sign for 16% (although I had an approval with another company for 10% interest rate). He mentioned that I wouldn't be able to use them to get the bike, and that I would have to purchase the bike with his lender and then I would have to refinance with them if I wanted to get that rate. I signed for the bike, and then refinanced it. After mentioning my years of riding experience he also said I would not outgrow this bike any time soon. So maybe 2 months pass, I call him up, I put about 200 miles on it and he said "we can't help you, we would maybe give you $3500-$4000 for it if you wanted to trade it in" keep in mind that is about 1/3d of what I bought it for. Last time I checked a used 2020 motorcycle does not depreciate like a brand new BMW 7 series, but according to him it does... like I said he will tell you all kinds of LIES to get you in a bike! Moral of the story, save yourself a lot of trouble, and from buying an overpriced motorcycle and goto a more reputable company! read more

I recently bought a Toyota FJ Cruiser from Hopper Motorplex. Based on my experience in this transaction, I think a two-star review is warranted. 1. I think everyone I worked with at the dealership are genuinely nice people and trying to do the right thing. 2. I take personal responsibility as the buyer as I decided to make the purchase out of state and not seeing for myself in person. That said, there were a couple egregious oversights and things that happened that I will share. Again, if I was local I would feel comfortable working with Hopper again. However, I would not purchase something from them out of state and ship a vehicle again. My experience was not good. I was searching for a relatively rare 2014 toyota fj cruiser ultimate edition. I wanted to go through a dealer to lower my chances of any surprises. A video was shown of the vehicle and all looked good (as far as one can see on video). I was told it was a 9.9 out of 10. When I purchased the car, arranged shipping and took possession, to my surprise, there was body damage on the passenger side (minor but there/present and would require bondo, paint two side doors, thousands of dollars...) and the clear coat on top was completely damaged, dull, gone, looked terrible...... The steering wheel clicked every time you turned it. I was told the vehicle was garage kept but the entire paint job clearly had seen it's day in the sun and the hood and top were completely toast. I spent roughly $500 fixing the steering wheel. I spent another $2000 fixing the top/clear coat. The entire top of the vehicle has to be sanded and repainted. I spoke to several dealers and they were surprised it would go out for sale prior to having that work done, it was that bad..... I'm living with the body damage and hood. In short, I paid quite a bit for a collector car that was definitely not in 9.9 shape. The interior was in good shape and as stated, but exterior had several expensive issues, some of which i'm living with. The purchase was a bit of a disaster and I will never buy a car out of the area and have shipped over again. Initially it was thought that some of the damage transpired on transit from shipping company; however, they diligently marked all damage on the car which was quite obvious. Sadly, this was not done so with the dealer. I don't think there was no ill intent but I do think the sales rep was excited to make the sale and underplayed the reality of the condition and overstated the good condition quite a bit. I get a bit upset thinking about this part because much of the exterior needed to be sanded and painted and there was body damage on side door so not sure how one misses this or calls it a 9.9 but buyer beware and I should have flown over to see for myself as well. That said, this does not sit well with me to this day. They did agree to cover part of the clear coat repair and issued me a check for $1000. I am grateful that they tried to meet me somewhere and make it right but fell short quite a bit as I simply didn't want a collector car for the price i pad with body damage and non factory paint but that is what I got. If I could give 2 1/2 stars I would as everyone over there was nice and I appreciate there was no ill intent but still, what a miss!!! I'm still stuck with a collector car I would not have bought and in my opinion, really over paid by a lot considering I'm living with body damage, non-factory paint job now and other minor repairs. Again, if I was local I would work with Hopper, good folks over there trying to do the right thing. I would not engage in an out of state transaction as actual condition of the vehicle was not properly disclosed and there was some BIG misses. If I could return the car for a full refund I would. This was an unpleasant experience to have the car the way it is. On my end, I take ownership for not flying down and seeing it firsthand as well. Buyer beware. That said, if the transport company can note all existing damage, the dealer should be able to do this for out of state buyers. There were significant misses on this front and I did not come close to being compensated and stuck with an expensive car I would not have bought otherwise. read more

I have purchased three trucks from salesman Brian spagnola, few issues in the past but he always made them right. This time the absolute worse experience I've ever had buying a vehicle in 30 years. Traded on July 13th however they did not payoff my trade in until July 25th when it was resold. Was promised the vehicle would be detailed, it wasn't, after waiting a week I just decided to go pick it up. When I got it the truck barley had enough fuel to get to had station, when mentioned to Brian he just shrugged and said "it happens" Next hit is they call and say my plates are in and I have to drive back over there to get them. I message Brian he says he will mail them, you guessed it he comes up with a medical excuse, as in nobody in the office could have done it for him if he was indeed absent. Was also promised a second key and on the day I was supposed to get it I got a call saying it would be later so buy my own and submit reciept. We will see how that goes. So now I have to go to dealer and argue why they didn't stick to the ten day payoff of my trade in, why they sold a truck with the incorrect odometer reading (miles are higher than it shows). I had no idea who Hopper Motorplex was until I saw they had a model I had been shopping for on a used car search engine. They have a pretty impressive inventory of fun/trendy vehicles, so their buyer definitely knows what they're doing. Overall, I was really satisfied with the service from beginning to end. We went on a Saturday to test drive my target vehicle, and as it was a 2-seater roadster, Ernie quickly got the paperwork for us (the hubby and I) to test drive it alone together. In my experience, most dealerships frown at this, especially when they see a younger customer (ya, let me stereotype for a sec). We then pulled the carfax and saw there were 2 front end damage reports on the vehicle, so we asked if we could take it for a pre-purchase inspection at our friend's shop. I was, again, pleasantly surprised at how accommodating Hopper was and allowed us to take it to Carrollton for a few hours for inspection (I did pay for gas, but they covered the tolls). I further appreciated that Ernie stayed a bit late to make sure we were satisfied so far with the vehicle, and we proceeded with the $500 deposit to hold the vehicle for 7 days as we sorted out 3rd party financing. I will say that my credit union offered much better payment terms (interest rate) than Hopper could've offered after speaking with their finance guy. Keep that in mind if you're seriously shopping. I had them appraise my potential trade in, and they offered right at or slightly above edmunds value, which surprised me considering it's a discontinued model and the market is relatively flooded with them. I bought a used vehicle for 13,500 from these guys less than 6months, thinking they would be reputable and would do a professional job inspecting the vehicle, as the advertise they do, but shortly before the 90 day power train warranty was up, we brought the vehicle to a dealership to get inspected and we were hit with a $3800 bill. We chased the dealership down for weeks through email and call and they never gave a prompt response, always giving my partner the runaround, well we went to go get the work done and a better price ($3000) and they came back with yet another major repair on the radiator ($1000). So far, the dealership has basically told us we are S.O.L. and they didn't lift a finger to help us resolve the problems with the vehicle they sold us. Bad customer service, shady communication, and an all around terrible experience. This place does not care about the little people and are ready to cut a profit on any one willing to trust their prices and smiles. They pretend to be a family, they pretend to value their customers, but it is obvious their loyalty is purely to themselves, but they send you a fun calendar to make you feel all warm a fuzzy for long enough to get you out the door. I guess 2020 is as good of a time as any to learn about small claims court. they may be able to get out of this with most, but we feel mistreated and think others should know how Hopper does business. read more

After getting screwed over by my insurance because of hail damage, I just wanted a smooth car buying experience. Started off great, with Preston telling me how different they were from other dealerships. Since they were my first stop, it makes sense why he spoke so bad of everyone else. After leaving and going to 5 or 6 other places, I came back and filled him in on my findings. I found a cheaper truck that was basically the same but wouldn't be ready for 3 days and asked him if he would hold the truck or work with me on their price. He proceeded to ask me for my info and told me the dealership would do a soft pull on my credit and only after we talked would they send it to a bank for the official hard pull. He was told a number on a monthly payment in the first 5 min we spoke and I walked away with no truck at the end and 20 bucks was the reason. The next day I see 3 hard pulls on my credit and when asked to explain I got the response I'll post in my pics. Lies and deceit go hand in hand with car buying and It sucks because it should be fun and exciting.
