Best mechanic in the DFW! Great customer service and honest work. Always make sure i'm well taken care of for a great price !

This is an efficient shop run by an honest, competent mechanic. No appointment. First come first serve. No chitchat, to the point style communication. I called the day before about the engine problem. Boss gave a decent estimate. I showed up the next morning and saw him in the parking lot. He checked the car right away, ordered the parts and told me to wait inside. They started working on the car, took apart the engine cover and showed me the old parts, and the new parts to be put in before wrapping up. The whole thing was done in an hour, much quicker than the book labor rate. The car was left running for another 30-40 mins to let the sealant cured. Boss didn't explain that. He just said it was not ready. Boss is super busy running in & out, inspect incoming vehicles, talking to customers in person, follow up on repairs by the team, ordering parts and answering messages and inquiries, doing cashiering, writing receipts. I can see why he can't do all that all the time but he is pretty close to Mr. Do it all. Most people would be overwhelmed in his shoes, but he is pretty calm the whole time. I can easily give 5 stars for the value and quality of work it provides. read more

I recommend you come here first. I was looking for new mechanic and I came in for leaking power steering fluid issue. I was worried I would have to replace power steering pump, but he told me that wasn't necessary- only needed to replace the lines that had some damage. He also resolved the leak on the V-tech gasket which I recently paid another mechanic to replace (they didn't). The pricing was more than fair- generous. The repair was done same day. Very courteous and kind. They made a customer for life. read more

Best shop in DFW, honest and hardworking, Mr.Q is best mechanic in town, gives fair prices and doesn't lie.

We took my husband's car here for service because we were told he is the best at Japanese car repairs and wow they were 100% right. We had a very good experience and highly recommend this business. He is very honest and humble and doesn't try to sell you on anything. He just assesses the problem and gives you options. Amazing honesty. Thank you!!! read more

Called 3 times with no answer. I needed emergency service, and was hoping to utilize the 24/7 service they claim to offer. Update: Owner called back first thing this morning (the next day) to apologize as his hours say he's open 24/7 but definitely not open on Sunday. Very nice man and given a chance, I would certainly come back here in the future. Thank you for the follow up! read more

Japanese Auto Repair did a wonderful job on my Xterra for well below the price I was expecting. Had to replace 2 sensors and redo the brakes. They had it done in less than 2 days and for much cheaper than I had anticipated. I will be returning here for any work I need done on my truck from now on. read more

Probably the most affordable place I've been to plus the fix is very high quality. I've had work done here that other mechanics weren't able to fix. I will usually drive from far to get here. read more

I've been going to Quoc for a few years. He is a great mechanic and is passionate about his work. His prices are reasonable and he is very trustworthy. I recommend him to all my family and friends. Some of the services I've had him do include fluid exchanges, a/c repair, filter replacements, axles, and spark plugs. The work has been excellent! He also has massage chairs for while you wait for your car. You can't get service like this elsewhere! read more

First time to this place and was really glad I found it. I went to a Toyota dealership the morning before this and this place ended up overwhelmingly beating their price. You guys know what I mean if you've been to a dealership. Its always this long list of BS to confuse you when you really only need an oil change and end up charging/milking you hundreds at those conniving dealerships. Quoc, the service manager, actually stopped me from doing an unnecessary service when he found out I actually didn't need it yet. Its going to be a bit redundant to what others posted on here but I'll be coming back for the honesty and prices. This place is about 35 mins from home but it was worth it for me. Quoc has earned my family's business from now on. Update: Still been coming to this shop after 2 years ever since I found it. Still great prices as ever. They even added a couple of message chairs besides the free refrigerated water. Customers can use the message chairs free while they wait. Let's see another business do that for their customers! The foot spa portion of the chair isn't hooked up but I just saw another customer enjoying herself on one of these chairs based on her smile as the chair rumbled while she waited. read more

Mr Q. SAVED ME!! ALOT OF MONEY!!! I NOMINATE HIM FOR DALLAS MAN OF THE YEAR! HONEST, KNOWS HIS STUFF, AMAZING PRICES!! (& a nice guy) Read the raving reviews here (literally, 48/50 reviews) after God helped me stumble upon Japanese Auto Repair online. This was after the "stealarship, Toyota of Plano lied to me, re: 2 major things wrong with/my 2005 Toyota Camry, & of course, they lied, re: telling me how to fix these 2 things, tellin me I needed to replace additional parts, that were not needed, to the total of $4,800!!! After I showed Mr Q. the paperwork diagnoses from the thieves, Toyota, re: emissions problem & an oil leak. In 5 minutes, Mr Q. initiated, showing me where the worst problem, the oil leak was. And told me what I needed to get this under control, was a new gasket cover. Told me the price before I could even ask...$180. And $20 for Texas inspection & to double check the emissions was now ok. (after 2 days prior, I, told Toyota of Plano, No, just try changing the gas cap first, see if check light goes off-after their dishonest mechanic had explained there were 3 emissions parts I needed new, ha) Stay away from Toyota of Plano & thee stealerships!! My car is running great! And I will definitely return to Mr Q.!! (already told my whole family about him too) A true miracle from God, that I found him!! PTL!! Thank you so VERY MUCH Mr. Q.!! For all you did for me, & for proving being honest, hard working, & great at what you do, in your business, IS, the secret to success!! Bp read more

It's been 8 years since my last review. I no longer have the 2004 Civic I took to Mr. Quoc's shop for over 14 years. Now I have a 2013 Civic because I traded the last one in (in perfect working condition thanks to Mr. Quoc and his team) and this is still the only place I will ever take my car to in the metroplex. Easily the most underrated auto repair shop in town. If you're one of the lucky ones who found this place decades ago, you'll know why you continue taking your vehicles to them for maintenance and repairs. If you're shopping for an auto repair shop and came across this review, just know that once you take your vehicle here for any kind of repair you will more than likely tell your friends, family, and future generations about this place and the professionalism and workmanship that goes into their business. Zero fluff. Zero marketing. They're busy and thriving because of word of mouth. read more

I thought Quoc did an awesome job with my car and this was the best experience at a mechanics that I've had. He took me to the bottom of my car to show me my brakes and rotors, which were very worn. He also opened the new brake and rotor box in front of me and put them on. Reasonable prices. I would highly recommend to all my friends. One thing to be aware of. He is a streamlined business and I think he answers his own phones, so when he is working on a car he won't be able to answer phone. I think also it's more of a first come first served so go early. read more

Good mechanic, but needs time Next time I will visit again for my car read more

I took my Nissan Juke to another place for repairs and when I picked it up they said they couldn't check the turbo part of the engine, so I was worried that it wasn't really fixed. They said I'd have to take it to a dealership, so I found this highly recommended shop on Yelp. I dropped it off here on a Friday morning and in about an hour, he called me to say he'd driven the car and checked it out, and it was in great shape. When I picked it up later, I was expecting to pay for the time and diagnostics, but he didn't even charge me! If I ever need service again for anything, I will absolutely go back here! Great service and a really nice man! read more

Super honest guy. If a mechanic tells you something doesn't need to be fixed, clearly he's not after your wallet.

We all know the hassle of trusting someone when it comes down to auto mechanics. I myself have been in mechanic relationships that that seemed great at first. But we all know that in all relationships as time passes we start noticing the lies and cheats. Unfortunately I have been at the bad end and have come to the conclusion that all mechanics are not the same. Upon reviewing Mr. Quocs reviews I decided to give him a chance. I was not disappointed I spoke with him over the phone and he gave me a decent price 2 days later i was at his shop. It's a small shop that specializes in Japanese imports. My vehicle was an Infiniti, alternator went out and I knew what was wrong. He examined the car and ultimately agreed that the alternator needed replacement. I dropped it off Thursday and my vehicle was ready 3 hours later. Talk about fast service, he kindly explained other issues that needed attention that I knew about due to taking it to dealership to get a diagnosis. Just goes to show that he knows what he is doing and is truthful. Glass to say that I was pleased with his work and although I hope I dont see him soon I'm at ease knowing he is there for me. read more

My experience has been just like everyone else on here. I brought in my 2006 Infiniti G35 coupe along with the front control arm kit - 6 different parts ($365 online) to have it swapped out with the old ones. Quoc (manager) was very friendly, knowledgeable and honest. He charged me $300 (labor only) that was way cheaper than the other 2 shops. Aside from that he even did my inspection for free!! and even gave me 2 beer mugs and 2 calendars. Wow!!! This man just earned a customer for life! Guys, give this place a try! Service 5 stars! Price 5 stars! Parts (hopefully a 5 lol) read more

Quoc is probably the best mechanic I've been to. He's great, honest doesn't beat around the bush. He tells you exactly what's wrong with your car and shows you. I thought that was great. His prices are the best in town. I've been to him twice for my car issues. I would 100% recommend him to friends and family. I took my car a 2015 Lexus to a couple of places in town that I will not name. I needed a water pump replacement on a 2015 Lexus RX350 with 95000 on it. The two places told me over 1100.00 for this to be done and one was the Lexus dealership and the other a place that specializes in fixing Lexus. I found Japanese Auto repair luckily on the internet and decided to give them a chance because there is no way that i wanted that to pay that amount for a water pump. I dropped it off and my car got fixed in a timely manner and they only charged me 450.00 dollars for replacing the pump. They also checked my brakes to make sure they were ok. I saved alot of money by going to this place and i will definitely go back again for all of my car needs. Great mechanic , Great price and Great customer service. read more

Quoc is simply the best mechanic i have ever had to work with. My dealership had a ridiculous list of repairs for my 2009 infiniti g37, and was not going to pay 2 grand to get it all done. So i looked up all the parts that i needed on rockauto.com and made sure with Quoc. All in all, got 4 brake pads and rotors replaced with brake line flush, 2 engine air filters, a leaking radiator tube with radiator fluid flush, and engine belt replaced for about 500 bucks. If you have a Japanese car, do what i do, go to the dealership for an oil change, they will tell you what needs to be done for the car, then get the parts and just go to Quoc. He will give u an honest opinion and excellent price for labor. read more

A good mechanic is hard to find, an honest one is even harder. Trust me! The owner's name is Quoc. He's the best mechanic I have ever met. I have a 04 Camry, and this morning, something went wrong with the engine. It sounded so weird. I felt like something was broken inside. I took it to Japanese Auto Repair hopefully to have it inspected and fixed if necessary. Quoc diagnosed the problem and fixed it pretty quick. He even gave me some advice so that it won't happen again in the future. Price is very reasonable. I have been working in this area for awhile, and so far, this is the go-to place whenever I have problem with my car. I'll definitely come back next time. read more
