I visited this location for a standard oil change. This place was recommended by a co worker who said they did amazing work on cars. When arriving I did have to wait in the office for a while before getting assistant but that was no big deal. I got a standard oil change for my Lexus. Which usually cost about $70 at the Lexus dealership. I really wasn't motivated to pay that for a oil change. To my surprise the cost of a standard oil change is around $27 dollars. Which was a great deal. I can at the end of the day before they closed and was able to get in and out quickly. I even check to make sure everything was placed back on correctly, which it was. The staff are very friendly. I definitely would go back again. Overall a great experience. read more

Owner hot tempered and very rude and insulting. Couldn't diagnose my car properly. Change out my distributor which turn out to be a defected one and wouldn't replace it with another. Refused to return my money. Took it elsewhere to another mechanic and he put a new distributor in and now the engine light is off and runs perfectly fine. My recommendation is stay away from this place unless you want to get robbed like I did. read more

This place is seriously the best shop I've ever been to. They're so honest and helpful. I just bought a 2002 Honda Accord and a previous shop told me it needed power steering, brake, and engine flush. Not to mention a new timing belt. These guys told me I didn't need any of that changed, I just needed an oil change. Well, being skeptical I asked them twice to make sure I didn't need to do anything but an oil change. They assured me. Usually shops push you to do shit that don't even need to be done. I'm so grateful to these people for being super honest and I love the convenience of them being down the road from where I live. I will be taking my Honda here as long as I'm in irving! The best honda and toyota mechanic I've met. I don't say that lightly, and I know cars pretty well. This place has been around a long time. When I lived in Irving, I brought my toyota here for service back when I didn't know much about engines, thinking it would be an expensive fix, and it turned out it was just a bad relay! Paul Dao, the owner at the time, could have screwed me, but he didn't. How many mechanics can you say do that? Now I live in far north Plano and Paul's cousin (I think) has taken over for him. I still drive all the way to him to get service on my imports. His prices are very good, he's always honest, and quick with repairs. This guy and his team know what they're doing. If you drive Japanese, go here. They specializes in Honda's and Acura's but work on anything japanese. Oh and they also sells cars to, so if you need something that will run for a long time talk to them. read more

If there was a negative number of stars I would select negative 5 stars. They charged me 30 dollars to install a low beam headlight on my Toyota. To add insult to injury the lady charged extra 10 dollars to put the cover back over the headlight. Talk about highway robbery! read more

The service guys here are friendly and helpful in explaining what they'd like you to get done and why. The prices are also very reasonable if you compare with dealership services. According to the man at the front that I spoke to, they only use OE and OEM parts, which is a big plus. The only reason I left one star off is because of its remote location, as well as the fact that I have no real basis for comparison (little experience with nondealership mechanics). I came here hoping to find knowledgeable affordable and honest mechanics, left disappointed. They are just as expensive as the dealer. They left my car sitting there without working on it for 1.5 hours and used it as a bench while they took their snack break. Flat out lied and said they were working on the car when I could directly see that no one had touched it for more than an hour. I couldn't even leave since they had taken the door apart. Oh, I sooo wanted to give these guys a five star rating! But, I can't. Not happy that I spent hundreds here and they still did not fix my car. Each time they said "oh yes, we know what's wrong and can fix it". Then, they would say it's fixed! It wasn't (over and over) and wanted more money to fix it. Each time, still not fixed, but they just keep saying "no problem we fix". BUT, I gave them at least two stars because friends go to them and they are very happy. Guess what. I'm back at Honcura. Talk about a love/hate relationship with these guys. I bought a Toyota here after another place couldn't find the water leak. Water pump again. Honcura fixed me up for not too much $, then they go and ruin the experience by leaving a bolt of a engine mount. Had to bring it back for that. Oh, well. Brought it in again, for another problem, and they fixed it for way less than any one else would. At least they don't try to rip you off. read more

I recently took my 2004 Acura TSX to Honda dealer to get my computer updated. Honda gave me several recommendations to keep my vehicle performing as it should. One of the recommendations was to replace the driver side axle seal(cost about $250!!). However, I had replaced the seal at Honcura about 7 months earlier. When my check engine light comes on I come here, they will check what the cause it at no charge. Other places like kwik kar or Goodyear will charge a flat $100 fee just to check why the light came on. When they figure out what is wrong they discuss with you and give you an estimate. If you have an old car then you are gone. I have come today for an oil change and ended up my day by paying 600 dollars . They recommended for tune up and transmission fluid change and changing valve gasket for 350 bugs and I said ok in order to keep my car healthy. They have inexperience mechanics here and the one handling my 13 year old car messed up with the radiator and it started licking and smoke came out .i had no choice to replace the radiator as per their suggestion for a replacement cost of additional 250 bugs. Then I went back door see how's the mechanic work. I found the experienced mechanic taking out drivers side door for no reason.Upon asking the other mechanic about the connection of door with radiator I was told that the mechanic misunderstood this and he started working on the radiator. Remember guys !! these guys are clever and provide you free pick up and drop rides and instead keep on playing with your asset in the name of servicing. Fortunately I stayed back as the other mechanic who was asked to drop me at home was a bit reluctant for the ride, to reveal the story behind . I am sorry to say but I am completely disappointed with the review I had read before coming to here . May be I need to understand the definition of being honest. All old car owners at least trust my experience since we drove mostly on old cars where parts and units are old and needs to be handled carefully. Finally got my car in the evening. While driving back home I observed the heat indicator reaching max value . I called them back on phone and I was advised to see in the morning . They kept the car ON for a while and pour some more coolant. I observed the driver side door speaker is not sounding good , giving a cracking sound . I reported them if something messed up here too. They told me that it has nothing to do with their experiment they did yesterday. They opened the door again and showed me that the speaker is old as if I was expecting a brand new speaker in place of it. Did not argued , I simply walk away nodding the head . its been a few years since this first review. I do believe they are getting better at what they do. As I have 4 cars in the family, there is always something going wrong or needing general maintenance. I've since been back here several times due to distance from my office, and I have to admit, these guys are very honest at what they do. As mentioned in my original review, they are very friendly and continue to help save money when they can on behalf of their customer. And as I had mentioned, some of the practice I'm still not sure of, but I do believe they do so with good intent. 2 months ago, a friend from work has a check engine with her Accord. Told her I will go with her during lunch to get it check out. When we got there, it was busy as ever, but they took the time to check out the code within 5 min, and it was determine to be one of the oxygen sensor, which is common in all cars. Now, I knew that in advance as I had it checked out at an auto parts store earlier, but the lights was never reset as I wanted to see what Honcura would do. Well, their explanation was that the mileage on my friend's Accord is under 90k, and these things usually happens above 100k, so their recommendation is to just reset the check engine light and run some gas additive to clean it out and it should be fine. Now, most shop would have just charge the customer and change it out. I decided to let my friend decide as it's her car. This is one of those sooner or later ordeal, so either you pay now, or you can risk it and deal with it later. My friend decided to wait. It's been 2 months, and check engine is still off. Just today, I decided to go back as my CRV has a clunking sound from the steering. As it turns out, it was the u-joint on the steering column/shaft that goes in to the steering rack. The mechanic suggested is common wear/tear, but unless it gets worse, they recommend to just drive it as is knowing that an older car will always have some issues here and there. But it's perfectly safe to drive. Before coming here, I had thought it was the rack as it was replaced 2yr ago, but it's not. So at least, it put me at ease for now. Although, I'm still going to double check it myself when the weather gets a little cooler so that I can work on it in the garage. Bottom line is that both times, they didn't charge me a dime. Both cases, it was consider minor, and yes, it probably can wait until it gets worse. The issue is whether you spend the money now or later as both of these issues are wearable items that will eventually needs attention. I do appreciate that they don't want to take your money if it's something that can wait. Plus the fact that these guys are genuinely nice people. I still don't agree with everything they said about certain issues, but then, we all have difference of opinion. Overall, I feel they need to be upgraded to a solid 4 stars. read more

Car was making a noise, did my research, got my suspicions confirmed by Honcura. Resulted in much cheaper clutch replacement than the quote I previously got from an Arizona mechanic. Found a torn axle boot and dirty oil, replaced the axle and oil with my permission, showed me the torn boot and old clutch kit afterwards to show it was all needed maintenance. Guy who runs the office can get a little overwhelmed, so when he was a little late letting me know my car was done I had to call in (previous experience taught me never to assume a busy shop will remember to call you before closing). The price and the fact that they drove me to and from home more than made up for not having my hand held though. Edit: Noise came back. Turns out my suspicions were wrong, and we replaced the clutch for no reason. Took them mere minutes to find the real source of the noise; not sure why they didn't do the same checks last time. read more

Doesn't get any better. I have gone here for 10 years+ for everything, and my only problem is that I have to drive 45 minutes to get there now that I live in McKinney. Always fast, courteous, and extremely honest. The only place I've encountered that I'd drop off my car and ask them to do "whatever it needs", knowing that when I come back, there wouldn't be anything unnecessary done. I recommend them to everyone, and their business is a testament to how many trust them. Have taken my Tahoe there a couple of times as well and they've done a great job, though mostly just my Honda/Toyota. Uses OEM parts, will charge you exactly as quoted upfront unless something drastically different. Doesn't try to talk you into anything. read more

I brought a Toyota Prius that I was potentially going to buy. They gave me their honest opinion on it which prevented me from buying it. I'm glad that I didn't because it was an older car with high mileage and since it was a hybrid it would been a waste of my money because I would have to buy a new battery which will cost me thousands. One caveat though, it may be hard to understand them because they have really thick Vietnamese accents but overall the communication is fine and I would highly recommend them for their mechanic advice. read more
