Reading all the five star reviews, only makes things worse . Because my Cooper has a notebook full of invoices from Louden. They did a brake job, the brakes still loud as.... and they left emergency brake handle exposed. You can see the road through the opening they left when they put it back. Now after another $1700 repair on thermostat , Housing/Gasket. The same is back with coolant leaking. The Cooper is now in shop again for same thing, however it is hard to fix, because Louden motors have stripped and forced the bolt . Shitty work from an arrogant owner . read more

I highly recommend Lounden for your next automotive need! I had my Mercedes GLC350 A2 service performed at Louden Motorcar Services. I recently moved to Dallas so this was my first experience with auto repair in the area. I was pleased with the friendly, helpful and professional interaction I had with associates both over the phone and in person. I first took my car to have a free analysis of what was required for the A2 service. I was told in advance the cost of the necessary services, at the end there were no hidden or extra costs, and it was all substantially less than the quote from a local Mercedes dealership. Loaner or rental cars are available on-site - I was fortunate to receive a loaner car for the day. My car was ready when promised and not only was washed, but the interior detailed. I don't post to Yelp often.. But these folks did a FINE job on my Porsche Boxter this past week... First time I'd been there... But they WILL be my shop for this car from now on. They may be a bit high on some things... But hey... You get what you pay for... I have no problem paying for quality work... And these people KNOW what they are doing. I had some pretty extensive work done... Issues with my power top... full blow diagnostics... tune up... spark plugs, oil jackets, filters, brake fluid flush, fixing all computer code issues... My car ran better when they were done... than when I bought it (used) 3 years ago. (It did not run bad then... ) They just made it run perfect. Drives like a new car! And they stand by their work in writing! They get busy... So don't expect "same day service". Thanks again Louden's !!! read more

I have taken car after car after car to Louden, for almost 20 years now, and I won't take them anywhere else. They have treated my cars as if they were their own and I am confident I have never paid for a part or a service I didn't actually receive. I've never been pressured or given the 'hard sell' for any work - they don't need to do it because they have plenty of business! I have always been given options on "critical" and "this can wait" issues that would fit my budget and all my questions are always answered fully. The shop is clean and organized and the waiting room is comfortable with coffee, water and Wi-Fi. They are happy to give a ride to the train station which is a short walk away (Green Line - Royal Lane station). I decided long ago that I was done helping dealers pay for their rental car fleet and not receiving any kind of personalized service in return. I feel like family (the good kind!) at Louden and I wouldn't trust my cars with anyone else. I have referred MANY people to them and they have all been happy. If you are still going to a dealer, you are paying too much. There's nothing Louden can't fix or help with - they even work with extended warranty policies. You owe it to yourself, and your car, to give Louden a try. I only take my car to the dealer for recall issues - for everything else, I go to Louden. read more

I wanted to drop a note about James Moir, the GM of Louden Motorcars. The man is a real pro in an industry where drifters, know-nothings and charlatans abound. James is always running at high speed, always greeting everyone as if they are the best client he has, and when not doing that in the friendly lobby, he is spot checking and assisting his technical team in the high tech spotless garage area. Recently I had a taillight go out, went by NAPA purchased and installed a 2 filament bulb that panicked the whole electric circuit, turned on all three back end lights to 'bright', and blew a fuse. I surrendered, stopped by Louden for advice or a service drop off, and James dropped everything to change my light bulb, and fuse. On the spot, with a smile. This is not my first visit to Louden: I have trusted various Mercedes to them over the last 20 years and have NEVER been less than extremely pleased with their repair, the cost of it, the time it did NOT take, and my freshly-washed car when it was ready to be picked up. read more

Louden overall is a good shop. They are honest, professional, knowledgeable, somewhat affordable, and the quality of work is good. I say only "good" given that there have been several times when repairs on several of our cars did not last. To give them the benefit of the doubt, one of these cars was older, but minor fixes became costly after having to be repeated 2-3 times. I did have one issue with a clutch replacement. The initial work was superb; however, over a period of time the performance of the clutch degraded and became noisier than the original that lasted 60,000+ hard miles. Not terrible, but I was disappointed to recently find out that when working on the clutch they did not properly pre-load the (fairly new) transmission brace which resulted in failure. This is a small detail, but for a job that cost roughly $1,800 - an important one. Quality: Better than your average mechanic - on par with most dealerships Customer Care: Professional and honest Timing: Good, and they do stay busy Pricing: Cheaper than the dealership, but still not cheap. Might want to leave your basic maintenance (oil/filter changes, etc.) to a less expensive shop. read more

Jon and Theresa are studs! Had a pre-purchase inspection of an $80k BMW M5 done only to find out repaint work and dent work was done on the doors and bumpers something the dealer hadn't disclosed to me (their site advertised paint "Like New" and still does). Needless to say, Jon basically saved me from buying a car from a shady dealer. If you ever need to have a pre-purchase inspection done in Dallas I highly recommend getting it done here. You'll save yourself a ton of headaches and sleep better at night knowing that the car you're buying was inspected by a true professional and is exactly what you're paying for. read more

Lousy experience there! Left vehicle (had an appointment) and did not receive a call back. Had to call at 5 in afternoon. They didn't have info then and I had to call back at 6 when they really had not even looked at my vehicle. Friendly and knowledgeable. I had just purchased a used 911 with a non functioning navigation system. I met Steve and told him of the problem and he told me to bring it in.Turns out someone had crammed a second cd in the single cd nav slot. My wife has been taking her CLS500 to Louden for years. An intelligent woman who appreciates quality, she appreciates their honesty, candor and willingness to honor their word. I took my C 300 Mercedes in and was somewhat reluctant since I always go to the dealership. I spoke to Jon who was awesome and very knowledgable about my vehicle. I then spoke to Chuck. He was also nice and told me everything my car needed. He even noticed my inspection was due and was able to also provide that service for my vehicle as well. I even spoke to a lady (I cannot remember her name) but she was also very nice. They quoted me much less than the dealership and they also wash your car :). I also like how Chuck educated me on ways to keep my vehicle running smooth which I appreciated. I would definitely recommend them to anyone! read more

A very honest shop that has really done their best to fix a very elusive issue I've been having with my BMW.

My experience was not so good. They told me I definitely needed a new transmission in my BMW and they were ready to charge me a bundle for it. I took my car to A1 transmission and all I needed was my transmission oil drained and refreshed. That was 4 years ago and my car is still running great. Also, at that time they told me a needed a new window wiper motor. Well, it is still running great as well. Be careful, they will rob you blind. read more

I've visited the shop on three separate occasions and the experience has led me to the undeniable conclusion that Louden is significantly more expensive than the Mercedes dealership. I believe in paying for quality work by a certified shop, but 40% - 100% more expensive than the dealer? Last year I drove over a curb and damaged my suspension. I didn't have an appointment, but they told me they'd look at it and have an estimate by the end of the day. They didn't. I was told it would be done the next day by noon. When I called at 3:00 it hadn't been looked at. I went in to pick it up and they gave me an estimate on the way out the door. I brought it to Park Place Bodyworks in Dallas and the work was done for hundreds less. This month I brought my E350 in for oil change, cabin and engine filter replacement, and a break flush. The estimate was over $800? I told them to do the oil change and I'd take care of the rest. When I picked up the car I mentioned the estimate seemed high and what was the cost for just the break flush. I was told $290. Let's do the math - if an oil change is $125 and the breaks were $290 the filter replacements came to over $400? BTW each filter was around $30 at NAPA. To make it better, I went to Park Place Grapevine and had the breaks flushed for $135 out the door. When I emailed the service manager, James, about my experience, to make sure I wasn't missing something, his reply seemed to infer that Park Place would never perform the work for that price and they charge back Mercedes $450+ for warranty service. I emailed back my Park Place invoice and credit card receipt. You might guess, I never heard back from James. This is the icing on the cake - when I've inquired about the price on both occasions they seem almost combative in their "justification". I've been around long enough to know that when a contractor of any kind cannot walk through their estimates in a civilized tone, buyer beware. read more
