I found Ultimate Bimmer Service through a recommendation, so I'm writing this review to pass the kindness forward. Neil is absolutely amazing. He truly is a BMW specialist/expert. He diagnosed serious issues with my car that two previous BMW mechanics, and my regular mechanic, had totally missed. And then he wrangled for hours with my extended-warranty company to make them honor the claim, and they did not make it easy. I'll never forget Neil's explanation for why he persisted, despite the hoops the company made us jump through: "This expense is too much to pay out of pocket, and it's too dangerous to put you back on the road without the repair." I visited Ultimate Bimmer Service as a new customer right after moving to Dallas from the Bay Area, CA. I've been a loyal customer to Bavarian Professionals in Berkeley and was hoping to find a shop that's as awesome as them in terms of the quality of work, knowledge, trustworthiness and reliability in Dallas. I was able to schedule an appointment easily by phone with Ultimate Bimmer Service for my visit (oil change and new spark plugs) and was given approximate estimates for the total cost of service and duration of the work before ending the call. The appointment went well and they even showed me my old spark plugs and gave me a heads up on common issues for my model's engine (coolant issues), which is true since I've already had to replace coolant parts, fortunately before my warranty expired, and they even educated me a bit on the wear and tear of spark plugs. The price was reasonable, the service was great, and I feel pretty confident I've found my go-to shop now for my manual transmission 330i. As an added plus, as a female, I didn't get any intuitive feelings that they were trying to take advantage of me. Will definitely be back! read more

These folks are great! Lost my previous mechanic and needed a new one. I was recommended to these folks by a friend! Always skeptical of a new service provider! Had an valve cover oil leak so reached out and scheduled appt. Upon their inspection found an additional leak with the oil filter stand. They called me and emailed to go over everything before starting any work. Approved and they proceeded. Upon removing the valve cover and starting work they found my eccentric shaft gear badly worn. They emailed me pictures and called to discuss it. They provided options and best/worse case scenarios with cost. (IE: if I wait I will most likely be OK for a while but It could also decide to fail possibly leaving me stuck somewhere. This would lead to extra labor costs, another new valve cover seal, possible towing, w/o a vehicle again, or more. Since valve cover is off now " large part of the cost" now is a good time to replace it.) Approved and they proceeded to repair everything along with some hoses, plugs, etc.. This was my first time using them and they did not like having to tell me the news. It looked like a new service provider hitting client up for everything, except it wasn't that at all. They did the right thing by advising me and gave me the options. After 120k miles and only oil changes, brakes, and tires I couldn't complain. They did find a few other items with the car that need to be fixed, however, explained the pros/cons, worst case, and cost of each. I'll do these later and they were totally cool with that. What impressed me was their approach to it all. Not to mention the attentive, kind, and serving attitude of the staff. My rep was Neil and he took the time to walk through the details and presented options with complete understanding. They know Beemers! He genuinely cared and knew what he was talking about. Additionally, he provided pictures and didn't push anything on me nor try to push me Into any repairs. The best part was coming to pick up my car and he had all the old parts on a cart. Neil proceeded to show me each part and talk through all they did and why confirming everything we spoke about prior to repairs. This was a first for me and further confirmed I made the right choice. Sitting in the pile was my valve cover. I said, oh you replaced that too. He said, yes it's the right way to do it and explained why which I could not agree more. It's plastic seating up to a metal engine and the car has 120k. Plastic warps and gets brittle. This group is top notch and gained a new customer. I've had two very positive experiences at Ultimate Bimmer Service. The first time was to do some front end work. The car had spent most of its life in the Chicago area so it was exposed to extreme conditions and lots of road salt. It took its toll on the front control arms and bearings. I was given an estimate that seemed reasonable. They called back letting me know there were some other parts that were seized up which was preventing the ability to properly align the front end which needed to be replaced. They were almost apologetic that they had to increase the estimate. The ended up giving me a break by including some parts at their cost as a good faith gesture since it was my first time there. They did the work, and as mentioned in other reviews, actually showed me old parts so I could see for myself what was replaced. So far that repair was solid and I've had no issues. They fully won me over on my last repair. For almost 2 years, I'd been experiencing an intermittent slipping when accelerating. It had been driven by the shop foreman at Sewell BMW and they couldn't diagnose the issue. Once it started doing this more regularly, I called Ultimate Bimmer service and asked if they were able to do a quick ride along to experience this issue. They said to come on by and made the time to take it for a test drive. Luckily, we were able to experience the problem while on the drive. I was impressed with the thoughtful, expert analysis of the possible causes just while in the car. They ended up doing a test to see if they could isolate the problem to the transfer case. They called me the next day to let me know that they had isolated the problem to the transfer case. The offered to change the fluid to see if that fixed it since that was the lowest cost option. They did the fluid change, and it's driving like normal again. I've been dealing with this annoying issue for a long time and it was SO nice to have it running correctly again. I really appreciate the integrity from the owner at Ultimate Bimmer Service. They easily could have told me that the fluid change didn't work and tried to charge me thousands for a new transfer case. We have 2 older BMW's in the garage and plan to only use Ultimate bimmer service for my cars. read more

I've been coming to UBS for a couple of years now, and the service has been phenomenal! I am just now feeling compelled to write a review about said exceptional service because of a recent incident involving my X3. As I was driving one day, every possible warning light that you can imagine began lighting up on my dashboard (drivetrain, transmission, no signal, etc.) and the car came to a halt in the road. Because the car was not driveable, I took it to the nearest BMW dealership, who diagnosed it and said that it needed over $10K+ of "critically necessary" repairs. I knew I wanted Brent's second opinion on the quote, so after making the repairs needed to drive it to UBS, I drove it to UBS, where Brent re-diagnosed it. Unsurprisingly, the dealership had overquoted me and the only real critically necessary repairs came out to $1.5K. I will be the first to admit I know nothing about cars, so I highly rely upon and value Brent's honesty to always tell me what is actually needed for repairs to the car. I have never felt that Brent/UBS lies or upsells the repairs, which is why I continue to come back to them for the all of my BMW X3 needs! read more

I took my X5 for a rear differential seal repair since it is out of warranty and the pricing was way better than the dealership. They use original BMW parts and also show you the defected part that was replaced before you pay/ check out with a detailed summary on the work that was done. Unfortunately, my BMW is getting to the age when random things start to break. I've taken my car to Ultimate Bimmer Service, and they've done a fantastic job fixing various maintenance issues. They do honest, professional work for a fair price. I used to take my car into Classic BMW, but they quoted me $1,100+ for something that Ultimate Bimmer Service repaired for $390 or so. Unfortunately, our love for our vehicles come at a high price in maintenance costs; however Ultimate Bimmer Service is the only place to take your BMW for routine maintenance if you want to offset some of the cost of owning a BMW. Recently had my rear pads/discs replaced at BMW of Plano for a whopping $1,100.00. I knew the front pads/rotors would be due soon after... but I was not going back to the dealership. Dropped my vehicle off Sunday night, UBS started work the next morning and finished by the time I got off work. Ended up being $300 cheaper than the dealership, and YES they use OEM (genuine) BMW parts. I can tell the owners care about the business they are in. Doesn't get any better. read more

My 2014 535i MSport just ran out of CPO extended warranty so I looked around for an alternate to the stealership and found Brent and Ryan at UBS. These guys are the best! Dealer said I needed a differential bushing replaced, $1300, they quoted $630, but after inspection they said it was just beginning to split 20% so could wait if I wanted. How many shops are that honest? Also, 3 year warranty , stealership is 6 months, and UBS is $100 hour mechanics rate! Great prices great service that will save you money. Yay! I am a bit late writing this review but I have taken my bmw 540i xdrive to ultimate bimmer service twice and I have to say it was a fantastic experience. This is my first BMW and I had heard the reputation of bmw's having problems without doing preventative maintenance and the dealership never gave me good advice on what i should do to help keep my car healthy where as here the staff was extremely patient with all my questiosn and were very through of walking me through the work that was being done and even showed the me some of the old parts on my car that were going bad that the dealership had missed. Need to find another place that has better communication with their customers. I used them once back in 2019 for some minor maintenance (oil change, filter, etc). Recently, I attempted several times and different ways to get in for an oil change (email, voicemail, and even via Yelp). Ended up taking my vehicle to the dealer for the oil change. Found out it needed a few repairs/maintenance. Again went through the struggle of making an appointment. Granted once I got through it was easier. However, there is a 10% discount offered on Yelp that they would not honor said it was given to me back in 2019. Then they said they offered a 3% cash discount (most places consider debit cards and checks same as cash...so my bad I did not think to confirm they literally meant "cash"). They never called when my vehicle was ready. I had to call about 5:30. Well I couldn't find a ride fast enough to beat traffic and be there by 6 because they said they don't stay after 6. Then I get a vm saying if I wanted to pick up the car I could pay by phone and they would lock my key in the car. I called back a few minutes later and no answer. Even with all the miscommunication, they still would not honor the 10% or 3% discount. As for the repairs, I just got my vehicle back so I will repost it any issues. I pray not! read more

From start to finish, the professionalism and level of care from Ultimate Bimmer Service impressed me. Took my 2001 E46 330i, with 160K+ miles to them after I heard an awful grinding noise on a commute to work. After requesting a quote here on Yelp, Brent called me very quickly to my surprise and told me to bring the car by. After a quick drive, Brent gave me a brief diagnosis of what he believed to be the problem and some quick quotes. He also took into consideration other problems I had with the vehicle as well. I left the car at the shop to give the mechanics more time to diagnose my car. Brent called back the next morning to give me the full details of all the problems, including letting me know of any additional problems I wasn't aware of. He gave me options and quotes to where I made the decision on the major repairs that needed to be done. Turn around was pretty quick and communication was good. Brent was always helpful on any advice that should be done on my car and very technical when the conversation needed to be. I'm no expert by any means, but I do know the technicalities of my vehicle, so this was greatly appreciated. Picking up the car, my Bimmer's exterior as well as the engine bay was cleaned, the old parts were shown as well as given to me, and full details on what was done and needs to be done to my vehicle in the future, was given to me. About a week or two later, Brent also called me to make sure my car was running smooth. That is the kind of care I do appreciate! -Prices were fair given quotes from other shops. -Knowledge of issues was terrific and better than other places I have been to. Straight to the point. -Customer Service was great. Friendly and direct when needed. Ultimately, (pun intended), I was impressed by the work and staff of this shop. Being honest, as a college student, putting the money to fix an old Bimmer is costly, so the expectation to have things done correctly and exceptionally is high.
