Honest and friendly BMW mechanics. I bought a new battery from Meineke and was charged for re-programming the battery in addition to the battery cost. I knew Meineke was doing it all wrong because I observed the technician fumble around with the device over and over again until it cleared. He wasn't even certain if things were correct, but it was closing time so he told me to bring it back if I get an error code. The next day, an error code appeared and rather than taking it back to Meineke, I took it to Accel BMW and they re-programmed the battery for free with my tune up service. read more

Based on the old reviews, this shop used to be much better than it is now. I wish I had seen the most recent review before taking my car here because I had the same experience. I called to set up an appointment to take my car in for them to look at something that Classic BMW quoted over $800 to fix. I told the woman who answered the phone, Esther, what it was, and she said they'd have to look at it but based on what I told her, it would be $300-$400. She told me that I could drop it off when they opened the following day (Thursday), and they would take a look at it and get back to me the same day. By the next afternoon (Friday), I still hadn't heard, so I called and had to leave a voicemail. I tried again later that day as I didn't want to be without my car over the weekend. I didn't hear back, so I called Monday on three different occasions and still got voicemail and no callback. Tuesday still nothing. Finally, on Wednesday, I was able to get a hold of Esther after calling from a different phone number, and she said they were finishing the diagnostic and waiting to find out if the part was available, and she would call me back. I told her that if it wasn't going to be done on Thursday, I was coming to pick it up. Miraculously, they got the part, and it was done Thursday afternoon. When I picked it up, she made no comment or apology for it taking so long. When I got in my car, the floor mats were muddy, and my gas tank was empty. It read 8 miles to empty! I dropped it off with nearly half a tank. And it cost just as much as the dealership was going to charge! So, a week without my car, an empty tank of gas, and I didn't even save anything! I would suggest looking into another shop. I certainly won't be back. read more

We took our 528i in for a repair. We had initially taken our car to BMW Plano when there was a problem with the battery maintaining a charge. The dealer wanted to charge us $183 to diagnose the problem. They quoted another $600 for labor and $80 for the part (a serpentine belt) to fix the problem. We thought that was outrageous and called ACCEL who quoted us $150 for the part and the labor. We had an awesome experience they got us in the day after we called. When I picked the car up they told me the repair didn't take as long as they had anticipated so it would only cost $130 not $150! I couldn't believe they were charging less than they quoted, I would not have known any different. I am so happy with their service! We won't take our car anywhere else now! read more

I had the occasion to turn to Accel twice in three weeks for issues in my 335i. Based on my home, I scheduled an appointment with their Plano location. The personnel are friendly, excellent communicators, and above all, professional. I had a minor coolant fluid leak so I was confident a radiator hose was the cause. They confirmed both hoses were deteriorated and needed replaced. In checking the computer memory, they also found the oxygen sensors were in need of replacement. Their quote price was half of the dealers estimate. They completed the repairs as promised at the price quoted. A week later, I noticed a distinct miss under light throttle. The Service Engine Soon light confirmed a problem. There had been an "occasional" issue a year before which the BMW dealer said obviously indicated a coil(s) replacement was in the future. I called Accel for an appointment to read the error codes. As I thought, not one, but two of the coils were in death throws. It was also the recommended mileage for a spark plug change so I had all coils replaced along with the plugs. For good measure I had the motor's intake air filter also changed. Again, repairs completed on time and at the estimated price - and much lower than the dealer price schedule. If you have a BMW, this is where you want to take your car for service. read more

We are new to Texas, and my daughters BMW was having an issue with the brake system, so i got on Yelp as I always do, to look for a shop nearby that specializes in BMW's. I read some of the negative reviews before going here, so I was a little skeptical, but personally I thought this place was great! I didn't give 5 stars because the whole parking situation sucks, very small and tight parking lot, but I appreciated that they actually answered the phone, unlike some other places I called. Esther was very professional and polite and helpful on the phone. I stressed the importance of having a quick turnaround because my daughter needs her car for work. We dropped it off on a Friday at 11am and it was ready around 4:30pm the same day! We picked it up the next morning. Their prices are great too, very affordable. Brought my Mini in for repair. They replaced the coils and sparkplugs but after it kept misfiring. Brought back and they replaced but the problem remained. Recommended other replacements. Still same problem. Took to another shop and they used the wrong spark plugs. Repaired them and it drive great. They would never return my messages saying that they didn't have a diagnosis. Held the car for a month with little to no communication. Avoid them. read more

Extremely responsive, professional and honest. I was referred by a friend and emailed them on a Saturday, fully expecting to not hear anything until Monday. This zero star is for the woman at the front desk (her name is Ester/Esther, appear to be Asian, just for identification purpose). To Austin: As much as I value your honesty, workmanship, and fairness, this woman is ruining your reputation. She is the opposite of you, so rude on the phone, so quick to charge and upcharge customers for higher price. She just jumps on whatever the price she comes up with and ignores what you have quoted customer (me). Today, she wanted to charge me the amount of my last year service invoice! Last year service and today service are not the same. Any customer service staff in their right mind should know that. I tried to explain and she got the attitude of "this is what you have to pay me or you won't get your car out of here". I asked her to give me your number so I can call you, she refused to give. It's so sad I gotta call police and had to pay (still not the correct pricing) just to get my car out of there so I could pick up my son on time. So bad of an experience after 3 years going to you. So, Austin, imagine the front desk is the one facing customers first, you don't want your customers to have this kind of experience. I still appreciate your service but I really don't want to deal with that hassle and somehow feel like being scammed. I had a pre-buy inspection done here for a pre-owned BMW that I was considering buying. Dealers don't do pre-buy inspections (I am guessing they want you to buy their certified pre-owned instead), so I wanted someone who was used to looking at BMW's. Accel took the time to do a detailed inspection, and explain everything and show me everything they found. They also took the time to explain what to watch out for in the future on that particular model. The price was very reasonable and ended up saving me far more than it costs because I had some good information to negotiate a lower purchase price. read more

I made an appointment with Austin because a service light was on and on 2occasions I had heard a rattle in he motor when I turned it on. Happened couple times over past couple months.Thought I would just get it all taken care of when he had the car. Austin called me and said he had taken care of service when I had the car in previously (first visit with Accel) He said that the service light was notifying me of needing sticker replaced which I had already done. He kept the car for a couple days to look for the rattle sound but never found or heard anything. When I picked up the car there was no charge! He is sooooo honest. He will always have my business. This was hands-down the best experience I've ever had with a car repair shop! We had over $4,000 worth of mechanical and body work done on our 2008 328i a couple weeks ago. Unfortunately, after having the windshield replaced, we had problems with the wiper blades and headlights, and the seals around the glass looked bad. I started to regret using an independent shop for all the repairs. But three days ago, Austin, the owner, called me (like he said he would) to schedule a time to see the car. Wednesday, he drove downtown to my job from Plano to personally assess the issues. Then he promptly ordered replacement parts, no questions asked. Today, he picked up the car from work, took it back to the shop in Plano, replaced the rain sensor and the seal, washed the car AND the engine bay, and delivered the car back to me a few hours later! All this so I wouldn't be inconvenienced! He's renewed my faith in not just auto technicians, but people in general. He was patient and kind and very trustworthy. We'll definitely take our "baby" back to Accel Motorwerks and we'd recommend it 100% to any BMW owners. read more
