Liz and crew did a great job rebuilding the transmission of our 2013 F150 that the not so Christian Brothers screwed up. They are a very busy shop (bad sign if they weren't) but Liz communicated with us every step of the way and fixed it right! She took pictures of the incorrect repair and missing internal plugs Christian Brothers did to the transmission and the actual failed part the bone heads should have replaced. I brought my car in on the 9th because my car won't shift into reverse, and i was told no problem they'll get right on it yada yada.. well it is now the 20th. and they still have yet to even move my car from the same parking spot i left it in when i dropped it off. I keep getting the same response, "well they haven't been able to get around to it, they know its a transmission thing it wont go in reverse..." no, really?? I had my 2010 Ford Explorer towed to their shop because I thought that the transmission went out. It started making a loud noise while I was trying to accelerate to pass a truck so I pulled into a parking lot and noticed that it would roll back when I placed it in park. When they got it up on the rack they discovered that all four bolts holding the differential had worked their way out and the only thing holding it in place was a single bolt that was captured by the spare tire. Unfortunately, it had already tore up differential, both wheel axles and the drive shaft. Jim worked up a quote on getting a rebuilt differential, new wheel axles and having the existing drive shaft rebuilt. It seemed like it took forever to get the car repaired; however, Jim kept me updated with the progress and the majority of the delays were due to their supplier shipping incorrect parts (perhaps they need to write a review on their supplier). In the end, I was very satisfied with the job they did and the final bill was exactly as they had quoted. read more

Took my truck in for transmission repair. I was broke down in Sherman and had it towed to my business in Plano. Fortunately I was able to drive it 3 blocks to their shop to be fixed. They could not understand why all the sudden it worked but it still slipped changing gears. It sit at my shop for a week before they could take it. I got it back 2-1/2 weeks later and drove it home. The next morning I got in it and it was downshifting hard. It stranded me again and needed a wrecker again which they furnished. Another two weeks for them to rebuild. On top of that when I drove it from their shop to mine 3 blocks away my wife came back from an errand and noticed my rear bumper was bent. Looked like the truck was backed into a trailer hitch or parking lot pole. Jeff did not deny it and said he would get me a new bumper. Crickets. The tranny still is iffy shifting but I am done with this. $3500 plus $500 bumper, toast. I have classic cars and my buddies will here about this. Find another place for yourself and stay away from this place. read more

This is my third experience with Plano Transmission, and I will never go any where else. I didn't know such good, honest, people still existed! The first time I took my H3 to them, I was told by someone else my transmission needed a lot of things. I took it to Plano on a referral, to discover I only needed a ten cent rubber seal, which they replaced for free. Second time the work they performed was perfect, fast, and extremely reasonable. I brought my 2004 Pontiac VIbe to Plano Automatic Transmission because it would not shift smoothly into 3rd gear. I had previously taken the car to the dealership and 2 independent shops for this problem. The dealership told me that I would need to install a new transmission and that would cost several thousand dollars. the independent shops attempted to diagnose but wound up referring me to a dealer. i had heard about Plano Automatic Transmission from a friend who had work done there and was very pleased, so I decided to give them a try. Bottom line, they were able to repair my transmission within a couple of days after dropping it off, and it cost me less than $600. That's huge savings compared to a new transmission! The service was excellent. Jeff the owner and Lee the office manager were both very friendly. The car was returned to me in the same condition of cleanliness as I dropped it off. The last transmission shop I visited with another car gave the car back to me all greasy and nasty, so I wasn't looking forward to that. I was pleasantly surprised. I had 2 transmissions go out within months of each other. I was referred to this company by my mechanic. They replaced the transmission in the first car for exactly what they quoted me tax and all. When the second transmission went out they did exactly what they said a second time. I have been doing business with Plano transmission for over twenty years. What I find is that Jeff and Lee will do everything that they can to help you with transmission questions and repairs. I am a member of a locat carclub and when I refer someone from the club to Plano Transmission I ALWAYS hear good reports about them. AND if they don't do the work because it is not something they feelshould be done by someonr else, (1963 Olds Starfire Slim Jim transmissin) they recommend someone else to do the job. Where do I start? My 2004 Tahoe went bad on a a recent road trip. I took it to the STEALership for diagnosis purposes to only find out that I need a transfer case that would run me three grand! I laughed and said no way! Took it to aamco, they told me two grand...I thought that was a good deal considering what the dealership told me. I did more research and stumbled up on plano transmission and gave them a call..spoke with Jeff who seemed very knowledgeable about the problem I was having. After reading an article in the Dallas Morning News relating to deceptive business practices by some shops, I'm so glad that I did business with Plano Automatic Transmissions. Jeff, the owner, gave me an estimate and repaired the vehicle quickly. When it came time to settle up, the final bill was exactly the amount he quoted, which was as much as 40% less than the national chains. The greatest compliment I can give is that he stands behind his work. There was a problem with a seal that was leaking. The repair required the removal of the transmission, a major repair. Jeff didn't hesitate or try to shift the blame, he repaired the problem promptly, no questions or hesitation. Kudos to this businessman for outstanding ethics. Was lucky enough to be referred to this shop by one of my frequent customers. I first took my car to another shop after the scary "check transmission" light popped up on my way to work one morning. The other shop wanted $3000 to repair my car. Seeing as that's a lot of money (especially for a car that I purchased 6 months prior for $6000), I took my customer's advice and headed to Plano Transmission. I was greeted by Lee and Jeff (the owner) when I was there. I explained my situation and Jeff was pretty confident it was a small problem known in the Taurus. Lee also went over the absolute worst case scenario and said if the transmission needs to be rebuilt...I would pay $1650 max with parts and labor. The other place wanted $3000 WITHOUT rebuilding it. Needless to say, I was notified next day that the car was ready and my cost would be $60.43...yes, you read that correctly...got my car fixed for $60.43 when the other place estimated $3000!
