Brought in for a small leak. They had rebuilt a transmission 2 years earlier and it was now out of warranty. Although it was past the warrranty period, they fixed it quickly for a very reasonably, and to top it off, the repair wasn't really related to any work they had performed. Scott is an good guy. Scott is one of the most unprofessional and argumentative people I have ever met. We came to this shop trying to get a transmission fixed due to it being damaged from a car wreck. They took 3 months to get anything done and we had to call almost every week to get an update (which was nothing because they had not worked on anything whatsoever other than taking apart the car to diagnose it). We eventually got tired of the wait and decided to get it towed and pay what was needed to get it out of the lot and let Scott know that was the plan. Not only was the car not ready for a tow because the parts were not in the car, but when asked to do so repeatedly he ended up shoving the parts into the car and left it. Heading back to college in Dallas, my daughter's vehicle had a "transmission fault" warning light come on. Fearing an unscrupulous repair shop would see a single college girl and think $$$, I put a question out to the college parents' Facebook group looking for a recommendation and Aaron and Eagle came up first. It was absolutely great advice. After a fairly healthy amount of diagnostics, Aaron and his team determined the issue was, in fact, not the transmission, but the head gasket, something Eagle does not handle (said differently, Aaron could have easily said the transmission was the issue, taken the money and no one would be the wiser - instead, he gave us an honest assessment). On December 31, 2022, I took my vehicle to Eagle Transmission for suspension repairs. The mechanic diagnosed the control arm bushing very soft and cracking. Both lower ball joints leaking grease, tie rods end loose when checked, both axles have split boots leaking grease, bearing seized on passenger axle support bracket, one wheel stud cross threaded on driver's side. After the work was completed, I noticed that the turning radius was not the same as before. The mechanic explained that this was normal as it would be tight. I was charged 3185.18 for this service. On February 7, 2023, I took my vehicle to Toyota for an oil repair. While performing an inspection they had to drive the vehicle. Toyota said while driving the vehicle we noticed a problem with the turning radius. Toyota explained whoever worked on the steering and suspension, the tie rod ends are not installed correctly. There is one on each side front that connects to the wheel. They thread onto the power steering rack and pinion. One is threaded further in than the other and is making the turning radius and the alignment is off. On February 17, 2023, I took the vehicle to Sewell Lexus and paid for an inspection. The mechanic found the power steering rack and lines going to the reservoir leaking. The power steering high pressure line is seeping. The outer and inner tie rods have been replaced on the power steering rack and does not have the correct turning radius. Will need to replace the power steering rack and outer tie rods. On February 18, 2023, I took my vehicle in to Brakes Plus and requested an inspection on the suspension. They diagnosed that one of the tie rods is shorter than the other and the rack and pinion is off centered. They recommended replacing the tie rods, control arms with ball joints, and replace axle shaft. On February 28, 2023, I took my vehicle back to Eagle Transmission. They replaced the tie rods/control arms as well as corrected the rack and pinion being off centered. They explained that there was a defect in the parts and added a new part to correct the suspension issue. The vehicle was realigned. On March 1, 2023, my vehicle was returned to me. I noticed the airbag light on. I didn't think anything of it until I had to honk the horn. None of the controls on the steering wheel worked. The airbag light continued to stay on even when I tried to reset it. The light wouldn't go off. This is dangerous not only to me but others because the horn and airbags didn't work. On March 1, 2023, after leaving Eagle Transmission, I took my vehicle to Brakes Plus. The vehicle drifts to the right. Brakes Plus explained the suspension is correct, however I need to have an alignment as it is off. Also, the airbag light is on and the features on the steering wheel such as the airbag and horn are not working. On March 2, 2023, I took the vehicle back to Eagle Transmission to explain the concern with the steering wheel. This was dangerous because the horn and air bags did not work. No mechanics were available to correct this issue. However, the owner would be in on Monday. I was asked to return on Monday when a mechanic was available. On March 3, 2023, I took the vehicle back to Sewell Lexus. I explained what the issue was. Lexus said the vehicles has "internal an open circuit inside, clock spring assembly, will have to be replace and clock spring assembly". The vehicle was also realigned. All suspension issues have been resolved. I didn't win the dispute. The owner felt as if I should have given him a chance to resolve the issue. I disagree, I should not have had to take the vehicle back to him in the first place. He should have fixed the vehicle right the first time before returning the vehicle to me. This was the second time I brought it back for him to correct what he broke. He should have made share there were no issues. Why would I trust him a third time? This was not only dangerous for my daughter and I, but for anyone driving on the road with us. I will never bring my vehicle there again. Furthermore, I will never recommend anyone to his shop. It's better to pay more and be safe. read more

Frank is a no BS kinda guy. He's a straight shooter and tells you in totally comprehendible terms what is going on. Once they unearthed my clutch he showed and explained to me in great detail what the probables was. He actually cares and once your repair begins he stays on top of the guys in the garage to ensure everything is in tip top shape. My clutch started audibly "whirling" when it was engaged. First and foremost, this is my very first yelp review. It is never easy to operate a successful service company. There are things we can control and there are things we cannot. I'm just going to share my experiences and you decide. I had 2 experiences with this location. First visit, I had my 2011 GMC Yukon transmission replaced, after reading many great yelp comments. My first visit was my GMC 4400 miles ago. After picking up my vehicle, I found rats dropping in my vehicle and trash everywhere inside the SUV. My vehicle had a rodent party overnight. I informed the manager and he acknowledged that and asked me what should I do differently, if they are unable to control rodents activities. I told them find better pest control. My 2nd visit was due to the transmission replacement leaks. They warranted their parts and services. They went through challenges and found me new parts for my upcoming out of town trip. They did a great job ensuring that I have my rebuild parts for my transmission. Will this rebuild parts work? the journey ahead will tell. Sadly, I made a mistake for leaving my vehicle again, overnight at this location service yard. My vehicle and along with many vehicles were broke into overnight at their premise. The vehicles were unlocked at their service yard. The reason, bigger mess for the next day due to broken windows. Our vehicles were visited no longer by rats but by criminals. Yes, I shouldn't leave any personal belongings and valuable when my vehicle was service. Yes, I should be more diligent, even though the vehicle took longer than expected. I highly recommend Eagle Transmission of Plano! I came here with some transmission issues, Alan was able to quickly let me know what he thought was wrong and provided me with an estimate. I didn't have the money at the time, and was pleased that Alan was not pushy and trying to use scare tactics to get me to get it fix then. I came back a few months later, and Alan was very helpful and accommodating. I was able to drop my car off at night using the drop box. I even left my lights on, and he let me know they turned it off first thing in the morning. It took two days to completely rebuild my transmission. The price was under the quote that was given to me, so that's always great! I waited two months to write this review after the rebuild and boy my car is still running like a champ! Horrible experience, very dishonest and unprofessional, will take advantage of you, and will apply discriminatory practices, like forcing you to pay them in cash. I took my truck to get the transmission worked on, Frank told me to trust Him, (big mistake) we all knew that the transmission needed to either be re-built or replaced, He disassembled the transmission and the next day he had a quote of $5,000 to re build, which is very excessive, or if I wanted to take my truck somewhere else, I had to pay him $500.00 plus $100.00 towing and would return the transmission in a box, instead of putting it back together, forcing me to use their services. I asked if I could provide the transmission so they would install, he said they didn't work with used parts, after pressing them, I was able to negotiate the price down to $3,476 but they installed an used transmission (with unknown history) and very limited warranty, the next day he called to demand payment in cash only. I noticed they accept credit cards and checks but they refused to honor payment using such ways, afterwards when I went to pick up the truck they first refused to let me test drive it, police had to come to the shop after of which they decided to test drive the truck but I couldn't drive it, just ride in the passenger seat of my truck. Please, don't put yourself through this, go somewhere else, you can get a much better price and a good warranty. read more

Had a transmission problem with my Accord and this shop took care of it. The repair took a bit longer than expected but they (apparently) had a lot of work come in so that's neither here nor there. After bringing the car home, I put it on ramps and left it in the garage; after a few hours I crawled under the car and no drips, seeps or anything like that. Looks like a really cleanly done job (yes, I'm what you'd call a shady tree mechanic and I do most of the work on our cars). Also - the shop took complete responsibility for an unrelated problem that happened while the car was in their possession (not their fault to begin with) and took care of that too - to my full satisfaction, so I am very happy about that too. Having seen the list of things they said they replaced, I feel that it was a fair price for a transmission rebuild. The car drives great! The only thing that I would say is that I felt that communication from the shop to me could have been better. I think I made most of the calls to find out where things are. But I'll not hesitate to go back if I need transmission work done! read more

I called Frank at Eagle Transmission West Plano around 5:30 pm on Monday in a panic because I was told by another mechanic that my car's transmission needs to be completely replaced and the work will cost around $6,000. Frank told me he would be happy to check out the car and said he would wait for me at the shop, although the shop was approaching closing time. Frank called me the next day and told me about a potential fix on the bulletin board issued by BMW. He took time to explain to me the resolution, and I gave him the go-ahead to try the fix. Next day, my car was fixed! Eagle Transmission has discovered a way to fix my transmission without replacing the whole transmission. The cost of my repair was a fraction of what would have cost to replace the transmission. Frank was very professional, and I feel he went out of his way to research the best resolution available. I was new to Texas and needed an honest shop to look at my car and tell me everything that was wrong with it and the cost. It was time to make the decision to either put more money into my car or cut my losses. Alan was super pleasant over the phone so I took my car in. He warned me it would take a day or two for them to really look it over and give me a call. It was a day and a half and Alan told me the the news. It was going to be around 3K and he suggested that money might be better spent on a newer car. They could fix it but didn't talk me into spending all that money. So truth be told, we didn't actually get our car repaired here. BUT - these guys still get 5 stars from us. Here's why: It's the day before Thanksgiving and we're driving to Dallas from Denver, when the car starts feeling like it's having trouble shifting gears. We (luckily) make it but we know we have to get the car checked out before leaving again. Mike told us to bring it by, despite it being a holiday weekend, and checked it out right before closing up shop. We dropped it off and got a call back an hour later. They ran a diagnostic test for free and even went beyond that to pinpoint the trouble I heard in the car. He gave us an honest opinion and luckily it was only a minor issue, but it's the small things that count. Mike was courteous and took the time to explain what he found and ended up giving me a recommendation to not have any work done. He calmed our worries, and definitely made my day. I have a 2003 Ford Sport Trac. The transmission needed a total rebuild. I got a quote from another shop, it was between $1500 to $2000, depending on what issues they run into once they open up the transmission. Once I called Eagle Transmission, I was told the same thing, including the quote. I looked E.T. up on the BBB site and they do not belong. In fact, they have a negative report against them. After speaking with Todd, I got good vibs from him. So I decided to get my transmission serviced there. After a few days, I called Todd to get a progress report. He told me the transmission will need to be totally rebuilt. The new quote is now between $2200 to $2500. There was nothing I could do at this point (and they know this). So, I told him to go ahead and complete the job. The bill ended up being $2490. Amazing! After a few days I noticed my overdrive switch was not working. This switch has a light by the speedometer which comes on once you switch off the overdrive. It also will flash when you have an issue with your transmission. I called Todd and explained the overdrive switch no longer functions (which it did when I brought the truck to him, because it was flashing and Todd asked me if it was. Todd told me to bring the truck by and he will take a look at it. He took a look at it and told me he would have it replaced for $50. read more

Shawn, the owner, was very professional, helpful, and honest, and J.D., the technician, was also. J.D. drove the car and determined it was a minor technical issue and was able to take care of it. My problem with these auto repair shops is that they try to lure in the customer to get some cash, no matter how. I had a problem with my recently bought Honda Civic 2002 and upon some research on internet I came to know that it was a well known problem in almost all the Honda Cars from 1999-2004. I got it checked from one famous auto repair shop and they told me that its transmission needs to be rebuilt. They gave me a huge bill so I thought not to proceed. I then contacted Eagle Transmission and they said to send the car to their place. Just like many false advertisements done over TV, internet, they tried to act very professional and told me to get my car towed. They did not tell me EXPLICITLY that these are the charges you will pay after you will tow your car to our shop and if you do not get it repaired, you will have to pay this much money ( and why would they tell....) !! Just because they know that if they tell this to customer right away, he may not choose to bring his car towed to their place. Anyhow they checked my car and told me that my transmission needed to be rebuilt which was no different than what another famous auto shop told me to do. What they told on the phone was that we have some 'scanners' and blah blah that others do not have and we can root deep into your problem and it may be a different issue. Anyhow I got my money wasted on towing. They charged $160 for just 13 miles of towing !! Totally reprehensible. I do not care how they do their work or how good is their service. I am only concerned about how they treated me. What I hate the most is the fact that just like many other auto shops they do not CLEARLY inform the customer that if we are towing your car, we will charge you this much amount of money. If they do that, it will help customers make a more informed decision. and STOP throwing this shit on the customers that ' Should you find yourself stranded we offer free towing'.
