Before the new owners took over in December 2014, I loved this place. My husband & I took our vehicles there for oil changes. I felt comfortable taking my car there by myself as a women with no issues. at the time, I lived close by & if they were busy they would take me home & drop me off! I have lived in Plano in that neighborhood for 30+ years. Another establishment I have frequented for much longer is Mama's Pizza. From little league & high school lunches, to now bringing my daughter there. It's a tradition. Well, I took my daughter for lunch after church, & what happened to me was unacceptable. Little did I know that I would be spending $291.00 for lunch & to get my car back thanks to KWIK KAR & their new owners/employees. We parked in the lot facing Parker Road. An employee of Kwik Kar watched me & my friend park, get out & walk our kiddos into Mama's pizza. NO TOWING SIGNS in the median, in front of the spaces and low and behold, the same guy that watched us park there, called a Safari Towing to tow us. Instead of, "Ma'am, if you park there, you will get towed". Yes, they had a towing sign that is placed such that you should not park in the BACK parking lot behind Kwik Kar, which I wouldn't have done as I was a customer of theirs and I KNEW that is the lot used by employees & the over load of customers coming in to get their cars worked on. I would have never parked any where that I thought in the slightest I would have been towed, jeopardizing my transportation with having my daughter with me. To make a long story longer... I thought my car was stolen, I asked the man working there... Chase, where is my car.... he said it was towed, and "her" car will be towed next, they are on their way to get it too. I told my friend and saved her car from being towed. Went back over to Kwik Kar to try to speak with them, and what I found was the up most unethical, unprofessional and his partner in crime who I told they had towed a long time customer. They proceeded to tell me it was private property... and that there are towing signs clear to see. (which they aren't) I have pictures, they are NOT. They are up as if for people who drive straight into the back to park, not their front lot. One guy that didn't say much, said he tried to call me.... (my phone number is on the back windshield of my car) said he tried to call a 469 phone number... HA! My prefix to my phone number is not 469, and he repeated that twice to me. So I know they didn't try to call, and I had no phone call from them. Chase proceeded to yell at me while I was talking, and it escalated from there on his part, while my daughter was in my arms. He was yelling at me and I couldn't get a word in. I finally had to leave, as my daughter was scared. He proceeded to tell me as I was walking out the door, "HAVE A HAPPY NEW YEAR"! My daughter was VERY shaken after that. Chase, clearly watched me get out of my car with my daughter, my friend and her two kiddos and couldn't WAIT to call the tow company. I am wondering what type of compensation plan they have with this towing company who towed me at the Texas State maximum of $250.00 base towing fee from Plano to McKinney. More research into it, they towed a military guy on leave for a short holiday break as well. They have towed a couple of ladies and tried towing some high school kids making them late for school. KWIK KAR, if you REALLY want to preserve those parking spots for your customers, you would have cared enough to post at least one sign in the front median near those parking spots. instead, they are placed in such a way that is deceitful leaving many to feel this is done on purpose. Leaving many to be disgusted with your lack of professionalism, unethicality of how your business is run. Mama's pizza is iconic, and let me tell you, MANY PEOPLE I am sure would be happy to take their oil changing business some where else, for treating not only customers of Mama's pizza unethically, but you treated one of your own customers this way. That sirs, is poor business. From the research I have done, you are not making friends with your fellow neighbors very well either. We have also tried to call your boss, Chase, the new owner of that Kwik Kar where you are employed and you intercepted the phone call and told me he was out of the country in Lebanon until March. I cannot imagine that an owner would ever leave an employee of your lack of professionalism in charge. If that is the case, I cannot imagine that this location will keep it's ratings high at all. I am not sure about people reading this, but if I read this, and was a long time Plano resident that knows the history of Mama's and the prior owner's of Kwik Kar Lube and Tune at Parker Rd. I sure would not take my car there again just for the principal of it. And do not be mistaken, this owner owns at least one more, if not several other lube places in Plano, TX.
