I have a Cadillac CT6 and I was having transmission problems. I took my car to Sewell Cadillac WITH MY Warranty and they told me it was a maintenance issue and wasn't covered. I took my car to Blue at the Transmission Shop. Not only did he fix my car REMARKABLY but he got my warranty to cover it. I will take ALL of my cars to him and his team from now on. Thank you Blue!!!! And thanks to The Transmission Shop. I would rate you 10 STARS out of 5. They are THAT DAMN GOOD!!!!! read more

Booked solid for 2 months. Too many customers. They don't have time for me. To busy. Too busy. Too busy

Highly recommend. They quickly got me in to assess an issue with my car. Diagnosed and got started on the repair. Kept me updated on the status and delivered the car back quickly. I'll definitely go back! read more

Quality assessment and fix of a transmission solenoid issues. Willing to explain and talk and were honest.

I drove my car away from this shop in worse shape than when I brought it in weeks and weeks before and was seventeen hundred dollars poorer for the effort. This was a horrible, terrible, no-good experience and I would advise you to stay far far away. read more

Free in depth diagnosis and complete transparency my car was in and out very efficiently would highly recommend this place if you need any work done on your transmission! read more

Saved me from investing thousands more money in my car with a new transmission. After taking my car to a Dealership costing me over $4k in repairs. Car still hesitating. Took car back 2 days later they told me I had Transmission issues. Drop off with Blue at Transmission Shop he said after testing there were other issues. Took back to dealership and they said I needed a new engine and a Transmission. Really? Still processing what I need to do but thank you Blue for doing extra due diligence. read more

Good mechanics are everywhere. But finding a honest reliable mechanic is special, I went here to get my clutch done on my Infiniti and man they did a quick and awesome job!, Julio in the front is also very honest and assuring. i brought another one of my cars there because i thought it was having transmission issues, But julio had a mechanic check it out and turns out it was just a bad battery causing the sensors to act up, i knew right there that they were trustworthy because any mechanic could have just told me it was a transmission issue and then charged me thousands. Great guys, Great work! I highly recommend! read more

This was three years ago. My car needed a new clutch. My car needs a dual mass fly wheel and they used a bargin barrel single. Just under three years later and i had to get the clutch and flywheel replaced again. They also broke my temp sensor so the car was showing every emergency light in the book. They tried to say that it was my other mechanics fault, but guess what the car worked great until i picked it up. They ended up replacing it but said they didnt have to and it was only out of the goodness of there hearts. Not joking thats what they said. This shop is not professional, not ethical, and not to be trusted. read more

Outstanding customer service. They spent time and ran full diagnostics and never charged me because they said it was fine!! I would definitely recommend!! read more

The Transmission Shop - Front of shop - Transmission Repair Near Me - Plano, Texas

This shop is one of the most honest shop I've been to. I had some repair work done to my front and rear differentials and I had fear that my transmission may need an overhaul. The driveline was rough when driving it inbeither 2wd or AWD/4WD. There're were some NVH transmitting through the pedal and I could hear some minor grinding of the gears. Bad news for sure. I went in and Alan and Mario took care of me and my truck. They did a transmission service and some other pixie dust magic trick, told me they don't recommend do anything else because they don't believe extra money should be spent. I tried to argue that I'm more comfortable if they went much further but Alan resisted and confirmed that drive it for a while and if it gets worse then they wil go for surgical options on the truck. I picked the truck up, and the NVH was pretty much gone. I honestly don't feel the NVH anymore so whatever voodoo truck doll they used to work their magic works! I know shops that would jump on the chance to say something like "yeah there's damage to the bearings" or something so you'll need a rebuild of the differentials or even the transmission and charge a buttload. But they didn't. That... I really appreciate about them plus the fact my truck feels great now. read more

The team at "The Transmission Shop" is outstanding. I have a 2004 Toyota Sienna with 250k miles and the transmission finally went out. They walked me through the options and were able to rebuild the transmission within a couple of days. They were very reasonable on the cost and gave me a 3 year/36k warranty on the work. The team is friendly and will go the extra mile to make sure you are taken care of. read more

Have always trusted this place for our transmission needs. We feel like they are honest and a reputable family.

My 6 year old Tahoe transmission was slipping. I needed a reliable company that wouldn't rake me over the coals like Chevy would. Decided to take it to Jim at Transmission Shop. Dropped it off on the weekend, they are closed, and they took a look at it first thing Monday. Jim was very knowledgeable and right on time. Quoted me what it would cost to rebuild the transmission. Gave me an estimate on when the job would be completed and sure enough right on time on that date. I will say he was very professional and the job seems to good. Car is running great again. I can't say if the price was cheaper that most, but I can say I would rather pay for quality vs. cheap and risk breaking down in the future. read more

Just picked up my 2008 Ford Escape and it drove great all the way home. Julio and his crew did a great job. I'm new to the area and first chose Christian Brothers automotive for a quote, because of the name. They were at $4100. The transmission shop did it for $2300 and warranty. Ready in 2 days after I approved quote, what else could you ask for. Any issues with a transmission I'm going to The Transmission Shop. Thanks Julio and crew. read more

I just want to express to Julio and the crew for doing an outstanding job on my truck and giving me outstanding customer service. Has been by far the worst auto repair service I have ever been provided. Consumer beware! I brought my truck in after a referral at another auto repair shop. They said that they were not able to figure out the issue but recommended the transmission shop in Plano. I took it over where I was talked into paying 4220 to replace my transmission (couple hundred dollars higher then what google says is average price) and was guaranteed that it would fix the issues my truck was having. Not only was my vehicle not ready by the day it was promised, which forced me to come out of pocket for a rental so I could make it to work, but I am still having the same exact issues I have been having with my vehicle. Not a good feeling paying over 4K and your issue is still not resolved. Strongly recommend looking at other options before doing business here. read more

Had my car up here for three days and they didn't attempt to even work on my car or even tell me what was potentially wrong with it. Not only that but I had to hassle them about updates on my car because they would never even call me back. read more

I was having issues with what I thought was my transmission. I brought it in they test drove it for 15-20 minutes. Of course they come back and say 30 codes came up but I need A new transmission $4300 I went to another place they could not get any codes to come up which is typical because the first place cleared all the codes I took it at Toyota and it only needed a torque converter buyer beware at the shop read more

My goal here is not to leave an emotional review. I'll do my best to stick to the facts of my experience and ultimately share that it was negative. I was referred here from another shop because I had a leaky seal in my wheel bearing which requires specialty equipment to address. I dropped it off the night before and called first thing in the morning to check in. We spoke later that morning and they said it would require a lot of labor, but should be done that evening. I didn't hear from them all day and called around 5:30 to make sure it would be done. They said they were finishing it up, but that it wouldn't be done until the next morning. Understandable. Again, I didn't hear from them the next day until I called around 2:30. They said (again) they were finishing it up. Then the owner called back a few minutes later informing me I needed another part. Again, understandable. They informed me it would be done that day. When my wife picked it up, she told me she asked for an explanation of the invoice and Aaron was impatient and made her feel like her questions were an annoyance. This is strike one. I got in my truck to drive home and I almost plowed through the first turn and almost lost control of my truck. Turned out they (1) didn't bleed the brake lines properly and (2) didn't fully clean the grease off the brake pads, making them spongey and minimally responsive. This is strike 2. I ended up bringing it somewhere else to be fixed. I figured I should at least let the owner know what happened so he could address it with his team. He was, again rude on the phone and denied they had done anything wrong. I won't be coming back. read more

I was referred to them by the staff of an auto shop that I have used for years. They had free towing and Alan was prompt and clearly communicated everything that needed to be done. I had to have a rebuilt transmission and it was completed in 2 days. The price was competitive and it drives perfectly. read more

Had them replace the clutch on my neon a little over a month ago and thought I would leave a review for them. First of all, they were the only shop locally that was willing to install the clutch that I had already bought. Every other shop refused to install it because I didn't buy it through them and pay their marked up price for the clutch. I called The Transmission Shop and he was more than happy to install it for me. The price was very reasonable for a fwd car, $450 which is half of what every other shop quoted me. Dropped it off at 8am and the car was ready to go by 5pm, that's some fast work. I had them do the rear main seal as well, and they were very honest and up front about any extra charges. I highly recommend this shop if you need any transmission work, couldn't be more pleased with their work. I've got 3k miles on the clutch so far and everything is working perfect. read more

5 days before Christmas I took my 2004 Infiniti G35 in to have them look at it. My car was acting like it didn't want to go into 3rd gear. They checked it out and, unfortunately, they said i needed a new transmission. I was freaking out as i still needed to get my sons and be able to do some shopping. I couldn't afford a new or rebuilt transmission. Allan Aday, the manager there is the MAN!!! He and his guys came through for me. He found a low mileage (82k) used transmission and said they could have it done by the end of the day, for $1400. They did their part and my car was ready. (Unfortunately i had some late errands to run, so i ended up picking it up the next morning!) They did what they said, I really trust Allan and his guys, and would HIGHLY recommend them! read more

I broke down in Oklahoma. I had the wife look up good rated transmission shops on 75. Had my f150 towed to this location. It was a Sunday so Eric called me Monday morning and I picked it up Thursday morning. Besides paying a good chunk of money it was a good deal. read more

Pros: Free Towing, Quick turn around time 3-4 days on a transmission rebuild, 3 year warranty, Friendly customer service from Aaron Leff at the Plano Location Cons: Price was one of the highest I was quoted from other transmission shops, If you don't have a lot of money I would prob suggest searching for a different shop. Was expecting my rebuild to cost $900-$1250 but it cost me $1500 instead read more

Had them rebuild a transmission on an Acura 3.2 cl type-s. Almost a year ago. I'm sure it was a pain but they did it within 2 days. Very informing on everything that needed to be done, because the factory didn't do it right! Thanks guys! read more

I had a free diagnostic done at another shop who wanted to replace the motor/transaxle mounts on my car for $600. After reading their reviews, I thought I should get a second opinion. I called The Transmission Shop and explained the problem. They said it sounded like the mounts as well, but they would also have a technician check it (also for free) and see. It turns out, the mounts were fine, and they said it probably wouldn't fix the vibration noise I was experiencing. At the end of the day, I was able to fix it myself in 30 minutes with a $15 dollar part. The best work I NEVER had, but when I need trans. work, I will call them first! Courteous, honest, and professional. Thanks guys. read more

I had just bought a used car the previous week, I had serviced. They told me it had a transmission leak and they recommend I used a transmission shop as it was a hybrid. I asked around and several people said to call Tommy at the Transmission shop in Plano, and I am glad I did. I went in the next day. Quick service and fair pricing recommended me to another local mechanic for service that I needed, service above and beyond. I am much appreciative of service like that today, hard to find. Thank you. read more

Thanksgiving.....a time to reflect on our life and give thanks to God and to those who have helped us along in life. I would like to say Thank You to Aaron and his staff for replacing the clutch disc, pressure plate, release bearing and other accessories in my 2007 Nissan 350Z Touring Roadster earlier this year. They also removed the scoring from the flywheel surface and the car runs fine. Aaron is very courteous, professional and customer-service oriented. Highly recommended. I was referred to The Transmission Shop in Plano from my regular repair shop because they indicated The Transmission Shop could replace my transmission cheaper than they could. During my initial call with them they gave me an estimate that ended up being very accurate to my final cost and was much cheaper than my regular repair shop. That first transmission I had them do is still in operation three years later in my Ford Escape. I just recently had my second transmission for another car installed by them about 3 months ago. Had an issue a couple weeks ago but they covered the repair under warranty with no issues. They were again very good on the price and have been very easy to work with. read more

Absolutely disgusted at this place, had transmission rebuilt not once...but twice since it wasn't done right the first time and after the second time there have been many issues due to shoddy work. After 2nd rebuild they didn't reconnect the starter properly, causing my car to not run, didn't reconnect cruise control, and now my mechanic has found that the torque converter bolts were only hand tight! They took me for $4100 and delivered crap! I'm soooo mad! read more

Excellent experience. Called ahead and they checked out my truck on the weekend when they were closed, even for free. Price they quoted as cheaper than other places and they held to the quote. Highly recommended. read more

I have a 99 accord that went downhill fast. After looking at several transmission shops, I heard about the Transmission Shop. They were able to do a free diagnostic. They rebuilt the transmission, replaced the radiator, and fixed the manifold for less money than just the transmission was going to cost. They worked very quickly, and the system runs like new read more

Excellent service, up front competitive price, quality materials. Everything I could hope for in a top notch business.

These people told me several years go, on the phone, that they would rebuild the transmission on my 2002 hunydai for $2200. I said that was too much fo spend on an old car. I was told by the person on the phone, who I learned recently was the nephew of the owner that I didn't have to worry. I would have a life time guarantee. I said ok. Recently the tranny went out and I took the car back to get it fixed. They would not fix it. He did not check the box that said life time guarantee. I went the BBB. The offered to fix it...for $1300. They are ripoffs. Do not trust them. I am going to spend the rest of my life telling people about them. read more

I brought my car (2008 Lincoln MKX) in with a severe jerking from the transmission. I paid The Transmission Shop over 2800.00 to have it rebuilt. Worked fine for a week and the harsh shifting returned. I brought it back in and they replaced a leaky seal. Another week and again harsh shifting and I brought it in again. They worked on it again and returned it to me. I drove it for a week and my trouble lights came on. I took it to a shop who said there were transmission codes causing the check engine light. I returned it again and when I picked it up it shifted smoothly for about a week and the harsh shifting returned (although not as bad as before, it still had jerky shifting issues). I took the vehicle back in to be told it was shifting fine for them. I picked it up and had harsh shifting after two blocks. All lin all I took my vehicle to them five times. each time it was in the shop for a week. I understand they need to road test a vehicle; however two times I took it in with a full tank of fuel only to be returned empty. They warranty their work, but after five returns and not having my vehicle repaired I simply could not return to them. I had two choices. Sell the car at a loss as no one wants one with a jerking transmission or take it to another shop and pay again ti have it fixed. Unfortunately, I had to sell it and am out a lot of money. read more
