John greeted me with a smile and was ready to assist. I described my problem and left the truck with him for an inspection. Several other vehicles were ahead of me for inspections and estimates. John called a few hours later and said my truck was ready for pick-up. He had a smile in his voice when he said the problem was caused by "driver error." When I arrived, he demonstrated how the transmission selection switch had somehow been moved to four-wheel drive. I was driving at higher speeds in four-wheel drive. That also explained why my turning radius was diminished. John treated me with respect, said there was no charge, and invited me to come back if I ever need additional service. It is hard to find friendly, competent, and honest people. John could have taken advantage of my mistake. Instead, John earned my respect and my business. You owe it to yourself to work with honest people. Headaches are free. John won't charge you for a headache when you are already stressed about transmission problems.
