I've always gotten great service at the Plano Grease Monkey and am a long time customer. Today I pulled in (a weekday morning at 9:30), there were no cars in the bay and four mechanics that I could see. I told them I just needed an oil change. They said they had a brake job and couldn't do it for at least a couple hours. I was pretty surprised they turned me away, since oil change is their "bread and butter". I'm a single lady of a certain age and it is always stressful when I have to take my car into a mechanic because of an issue. I've used Grease Monkey for many years for my vehicle's regular oil changes and routine maintenance. I recently needed my wheel bearings replaced and didn't realize that they did those types of repairs so I checked out a few other places and I couldn't leave those places fast enough because of the way they treated me as if I was an ignorant woman and immediately I felt like I was already being price gouged. I called Grease Monkey to just see if they might do that kind of repair and Gaetana answered and told me to bring it over and they'd take care of it. They immediately told me what I would need and the final price ended up being at the very low end of the quote. They even took me to work and picked me up when my car was finished. And it was repaired in the amount of time they said it would be. Despite having just gone through an ownership changes and restocking on tools/supplies, they diagnosed a difficult no start issue with my wife's older Mustang and got it up and running. During the process, it was obvious that they really cared about helping us and took great care of her car, which is in pristine condition. Communication was great and they were happy to work with an outside expert on some difficult electrical gremlins related to the security system. And, they did the work at a very reasonable price. I came to this place because I needed an oil change and found a $15 off coupon on the back of my grocery store receipt. They had recently opened when I went, so they weren't super busy. I have since had both of my cars' oil changed here. The guys are very friendly and answer all my questions. Upon check out I feel like they're very transparent with what they have checked out and find with the vehicle. I periodically get service coupons in the mail. Very satisfied with the oil change service provided by Grease Monkey. The staff provided several extra services and pieces of information that I was not expecting. They gave me results of inspection of several filters, but never suggested replacement. Instead, they gave me an assessment of whether each filter was good for another 5k or 10k miles. They checked fluid levels, brake wear, tire pressure, battery, and several other items. They also vacuumed the interior and washed the windows. Very satisfied with Grease Monkey. read more

Extremely disappointed. To the point of tears. Came in after I got my van and asked for full synthetic and that's what I thought I got and left happy. Came back for a second oil change only to be told they did not put full synthetic in my van and lied to me. The man running this place doesn't seem to care one bit that I was lied to and didn't seem to want to help me. read more

Came for a transmission fluid flush and was quoted $250 for 15' Hyundai Elantra. Way too high for what the service was, possibly was higher because I came alone and am a female lol. Look for another mechanic if you want to be taken seriously. read more

Had water pump bearings go out on my wife's 2015 Toyota Sienna and Grease Monkey was able to replace the part quickly and for a fair flat rate price. Sienna water pumps are difficult for somebody at home to replace due to the tight location they are in. I didn't have the tools/skills to attempt that myself. I worked with Eric and he answered my questions and replied promptly. I feel comfortable taking my car there for repairs in the future. read more

The most honest, hardworking people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. I always get nervous about going to auto shops because of the horror stories you hear about some scamming you (especially being a woman. some places will take advantage of my mom and me because they think we don't know anything about cars. which is true but still haha) but not this place. everyone is transparent with what they are doing and why and tell you any issues you have. they will go out of their way to help you with anything. prices are very decent, waiting area is very clean and comfortable , and they offer refreshments. it's little things like this that shows they really do appreciate their customers. highly recommend you ask for Patrick, super knowledgable, awesome guy. he knows what he's doing and will make sure you're well taken care of. of course everyone else there is just ask great too. you'll be in good hands no matter who fixes your car. read more
