They overall have done a good job in the past-- however, I was pretty upset with the Plano location on 15th today. My wife has a new Chevy Trax with only 5k miles and they sold her on getting the high mileage oil and the air filter located in the glove box on a brand new car. ‍ She spent $120 on servicing a brand new car. Ugh! Lesson learned! Going forward, I'll handle our oil changes and take my business to Kwik Kar. read more

I came here today for my oil change & I specifically chose this location because of all the great reviews & I was not disappointed in the slightest. DJ was very nice & provided me with two options (explained the cost & differences) & he was just overall helpful-- didn't try to over do it or sell me on something extreme that I needed. I appreciate that especially when it comes to cars. Overall great experience I will definitely be back! This place is absolutely trash!! Do not trade with these people !! They quote you one amount over the phone through the phone bank and when you get there, they try to charge you something different They would rather lose a customer then honor a seven dollar difference in pricing, it's run by idiots ! I stopped here early in the morning to see about getting my oil changed and I asked why they charge so much for changing out oil because the prices started at $50 and went up to $120 plus extra fees and the guy there and a woman who works there started talking about me as if I was not even there. Saying don't argue with him because I asked a simple question and that I should go to the places where they charge $60 bucks for a oil change. My dad was a mechanic for 25 years and it doesn't take much to charge out oil!! I left and went to pennzoil and they changed out my oil and oil filter for $45 bucks This place is a ripoff!!! Most unprofessional experience I have had after being a customer since 2018. I generally work with Joel but he was not there. The Mexican music was blaring and not to mention the technician that started the oil change process abandoned the oil change process. And after setting there 10 minutes or so I got tired of waiting so I had to get out of my truck and screw on the oil cap and put the dip stick back in myself. Whats up with your people? read more

These guys know their business like no other oil change place I have been. They are fast, even when it's slammed busy. They are fair and don't try to over sell you but "right sell" to you. They train their techs well and it shows because they actually can speak to you about the difference in synthetics, brands and are knowledgeable even about your specific make and car mode. 100 pts across the board fellas. Dishonest, deceitful, and unconcerned what the driver wants. I pulled up and asked the attendant how much it was. He said conventional start at 49.99, I asked him if he would honor my vet status as stated on my drivers license. He said yes. I learned they will say anything to get you in the bay. Another person started asking my info, and he asked if I wanted the synthetic oil. I said no I wanted conventional. He said they did not have that (the first person said yes, they did.) I told them to stop I did not want synthetic oil. They are trained to be liars, get you in the bay and charge you for something you don't want and they lie to get you in. This is a very dishonest way to do business. I will never use anything with take five on it. read more

I was just here for the first time. Called them at 9:00AM to see if I could schedule an appointment, Benny said it's a walk-in service. Anyway, get in at 9:32AM. Benny offers me a water, I give him all details on car, mileage, etc. and tells me it will take 8 minutes. (He gave me the run down, car is in good shape, doesn't need much aside from oil change at the moment). He does a complimentary check on my engine filter and air conditioner filter. (They were a little dirty). Tells me next time if I want to change them he will give me ten dollars off. They didn't try to sell me on anything, they changed the oil in under ten minutes, I paid, they were super knowledgeable and friendly and this was honestly the best oil change experience I have ever had. Was surprised at higher cost for Sienna synthetic oil change which exceeded 5 qts and had extra fee. 2 cars were ahead of me, and they only had 1 bay open (sign of the times) so the wait was longer than expected. This location also charges $3 shop fee which another location doesn't (Will visit the other from now on). Fortunately their $10 off coupon helped. read more

Take 5 Back in February, I took my car to get an oil change at the Take 5 location in Plano off of Spring Creek. At the time, I was very sick and couldn't change it myself, therefore had to take it somewhere. I took a chance with this shop since I saw that it had recently opened. This decision became a nightmare. A few weeks ago I had to change my oil once again, I do it every 5,000 miles on my vehicle. I got it on the ramps at my house and began to take the oil drain plug out and realized that the plug just spun and wouldn't come out. This indicates that the last person to do my oil change, which was Take 5, ruined the threads in my vehicles oil pan. This was the first time the plug has been touched since I took it to Take 5 months ago. Since I was afraid the plug would explode out due to the pressure in the engine I didn't turn the engine on and had my brother tow my car all the way over to the shop. At the shop they tried taking the plug out, but they soon came to the same realization as I did. The threads were messed up. They told me that whoever did my last oil change, which was one of their employees, screwed it up. They were telling me how they will file a claim so my vehicle can get taken to a different shop and fixed. All three employees told me that it was Take 5's mistake and they will fix it. Then the shop manager came over and said that they weren't responsible because I tried to take the plug out 30 minutes ago to do my 5,000 mile oil change by myself. The thing with this is that I would've never known the threads were screwed if I didn't attempt to take the plug out. The manager gave me the email to the district manager. The manager of the shop told me to send the district manager an email to get this situation resolved. I sent the district manager an email that day, but got no response. I sent him another email 2 days later, but got no response. Came to the Take 5 that ruined my vehicle 2 times to tell him that the district manager isn't responding, still, no response. I decided to call corporate, and within 1 hour of calling corporate, he finally sent me an email. This was frustrating because I could tell that he was ignoring my emails. It took me a week to get a response and I would've never even gotten one if I didn't call corporate. I basically told him the whole situation. After a few emails back and forth, he sent me the final report which claimed that I lied and I did my own oil change between the time Take 5 did mine back in February. He got this idea through a blurry picture of my dipstick where the oil didn't seem "dark" enough for it to have been in my car for 5,000 miles. He discredited me and said none of the employees told me it was Take 5's mistake even though three of the employees said otherwise. He also said that the drain plug would've leaked from the time they put it back, which is also false. Through the emails he sent me, it's obvious that he was looking for ways to get out of being responsible for ruining my oil plug. Listen, if you want an oil change, stay away from Take 5. If they mess your car up they will put the blame on you and not take responsibility. They will happily lie to your face. Go to a credible shop or even do it on your own. read more

Good shop to go to. Been using 5 for 7 yrs now and they do a good job. They usually tell you when ur car needs new filters or wiper blades and so on but always read up on your carss specific needs to be prepared. read more

Sketchy service - they don't do tire rotations or inspections at all. They "changed" my oil filter - not even sure they replaced it with a new one. It was overpriced at $85 for an oil change, I feel like I was scammed. The guy was in a hurry and impatient with answering my questions. So my first visit the service was great. Super nice employees and did a good job on the oil change. Very convenient to just sit in your car if the weather is not hot. On my second visit I was not due on miles but it had been six months. Instead of doing a full oil change they just checked the levels and the oil cleanliness. Said looked good and just topped it off and sent me on my way for no charge just to come back in 2,000 miles. So awesome. Will be back to see them when it's time. read more
