I live 30 mins from McKinney where I ran over a large metal object and I could see the green radiator fluid all run out and the plastic in front of my tires was broken and rubbing my tires. I had it towed to them after speaking with Joe who is great about keeping in touch. He told me not only was the radiator busted but also the ac compressor was busted and it was gonna need Freon and it would be $1300. I didn't have 13 cents. After a day of research I found the car was drivable without the compressor repair. I said fix the radiator, he said $662. I literally had to ask him for tape, in the rain, to tape the plastic piece to keep it from rubbing my tires and Imagine my surprise when I accidentally turn on my ac I got pure conditioned cold air. Here's the deal... In a world where people are out for money and will screw you at any turn, I've found a place where the complete opposite is true. These guys are as honest as one can be. I found out about them from a friend and now will drive WAY out of my way because of the good & honest work they do! Our Mercedes was needing it's Service B and the dealership was wanting to charge in the neighborhood of $500. Solutions Automotive did the SAME fully documented service for half! Joe and Robert were very help and knowledgable. I took my OLD car in because it was not passing inspection due to the emmissions test. They looked at everything on the car, cleaned up the engine, and gave me a run down of all of the things the car needs work on. They got my car running better & had it inspected..PASSED. Under $125. Robert gave me prices and let me know the work was not urgent but gave me approximate timeframes and prices for future reference. I really liked doing business with these guys. I do most of my own vehicle maintenance, but I didn't have the time or tools to replace the brakes and rotors on my truck. I called Solutions and they were able to take it in the next day and do the replacement. While working on the truck, Joe called to let me know the progress and when it would be finished - which was later that day. I was able to pay over the phone and picked up the truck right as they were closing. As a small business owner myself, I appreciate the great service, contact, and quick turnaround. Be aware! After a $4700 repair on my wife's Cadillac Escalade ESV, the car was returned to me with a broken rear windshield wiper and a stolen third row. The disturbing part of this, was this was unknown to them which makes me question their QC process. More disturbing is it became clear that my car was stored OUTSIDE the shop making it catnip for thieves and vandals. In fact, upon discovering the theft, a cursory search revealed the third row already posted on eBay motors for sale. I do believe Joe is an honest and forthright owner intent on doing a good job. That said, cars should never be exposed to theft, vandalism or damage while under their care. If they are damaged, it would be my hope it would be caught before the car is returned to the owner with abject apologies and minimal inconvenience. read more

My Corolla was in some serious need of new brakes all around and a tune up. So after doing some research on where to take my car, I came across Solutions Automotive. They have the best reviews in the McKinney area, so it was an easy choice for me on where to take my car. I called to make my appointment and the receptionist who answered was very friendly and got me all set up to bring my car on in for service the next day. I dropped my car off first thing in the morning when they opened and they said it should take about 3-4 hours to do all four brakes and the tune up. About two and half hours later I get a phone call saying my car is ready and was just in awe that they got it done faster then they said it would. When I went in to pay my bill and I was extremely happy how much it cost me. It was very reasonable and cheaper then most places. That right there will keep me brining the vehicles here for service. The one thing that really stands out about Solutions Automotive is they take the time to send their customers a THANK YOU card hoping that they were satisfied with the service they received. I honestly can't speak to the quality of their work, but I can't attest to the quality of their character. It's not everyday that a mechanic will tell you that you DON'T need to have work done! Went thinking I needed a brake job, but they let me know the occasional squeals were from uneven wear, and I still had a good 80-90% life left on all pads. It seems the dealership had only replaced the pads on my used car not the rotors. Ideal? No, but I left comfortable that I wasn't going to go flying uncontrollably through and intersections or smack into my garage door anytime soon. I will definitely utilize Solutions Automotive for any future repairs! read more

My car overheated on me and I desperately needed to get back on the road as quickly as possible. Not wanting to get ripped off by Firestone, I reached out to Solutions Automotive because of their great Yelp reviews. They were able to fit me in the very next morning. They dropped me off at the local car rental place so I could get a rental to shuttle myself around all day, super convenient of them. Then, since I was concerned about getting stuck with a rental car all weekend, they managed to get my car completely fixed in the same day so that I was able to get back to the rental place and turn my car in without incurring any late costs. They fixed the primary issue as well as gave me some honesty about my oil change. I needed an oil change but since the previous people who changed it had jammed something, they suggested I take it back there and make them fix their mistake so that I wouldn't have to pay them to fix someone elses mistake. I really appreciate the honesty and trying to save me a few bucks in the end. Another added bonus is that the owner is a hockey fan! Go Allen Americans! I'll come back here if I have any further issues with my car. Note, this place can be challenging to find. It is BETWEEN greenville and Tennessee but you cannot see it from either one. If you take Tennessee, you'll be able to see their logo on a small sign indicating where to drive...and it's kind of halfway in between the two streets. read more

Took my car in for the first time based on reviews. My car's a/c wasn't blowing out cool air. When I went to pick it up, they said nothing was wrong with the a/c; however, when I left the shop the a/c still didn't blow out cool air. After getting a 2nd opinion at another shop, I went on youtube to learn how to add freon and fixed it myself. I gave it a 3 rating because the guy at the front was nice. However, not sure they have reliable mechanics given they couldn't correct a simple job. read more

Wow. So glad I found these guys. My brakes were squealing on my car so I brought in my car to have it looked at. Nothing wrong. Although the sound is annoying, they let me know the brakes were in good working order and no safety issue. Didn't even charge me for the visit. It's really hard to find a trustworthy mechanic. I have not had any work done at this shop other than the inspection, but due to the professional service I will bring my vehicles here in the future when they need service or repair. I had a little mishap with a curb a couple weeks ago and it happened at the worst possible time! I was planning on driving my daughter, two of her teammates and another mom 5 hours away to a bball tournament that weekend and needed to make sure my suv was ok for the trip. I initially took the suv to the dealer as it was a recent purchase and used my free oil change and had them make sure all was ok with the wheel, etc. The dealer told me that they were having trouble aligning the side in question, but didn't have time to look further into it and told me it was fine to drive for the next couple of weeks and ok to take it out of town (loaded down with several passengers). They said I could schedule a time the following week to bring it back in to have it addressed further. I immediately called Joe for a second opinion and was able to drop the suv off the next day at Solutions Automotive. He was able to get the issue diagnosed and determined that the strut was bent and there were pieces of rubber chipped from the tire! The dealer was about to let me drive for hours and hours with a bent strut and bad tires! Joe was able to have the tires and struts replaced by that afternoon and I was able to leave for the tournament with peace of mind! Wow, just another typical mechanic trying to screw the average joe! Maybe there work is quality, maybe not. THEY WILL JACK THE PRICE UP BIG TIME! I would NOT recommend this place. I was in Mckinney visiting friends(I'm from Kansas) and noticed my alternator knocking, they wanted to charge me $650 to replace it! I called around got a second opinion,bought the part at Oreillys myself and had south point auto. do it for $150-labor(solutions wanted $260!) and I bought the part for $200. HALF THE PRICE!!!! Omg! AND OREILLYS guy told me they get the same part for 160! They were going to charge me 2x as much for the part...probably some shop guarantee BS!!! Blah blah blah... So glad I got a 2nd opinion! read more

Not sure why this place is so overhyped. This place is tucked away in a bad part of town. It's a suite in a large building full of other garages, which made it difficult to find when I arrived. Not really a big deal, but there is no way I would have found this place without Yelp or Google Maps. I had a number of issues on my chevy silverado. Mostly just maintenance stuff. Oil change, brake pads & rotors, etc. They called back with about 10 issues found in the 15 point inspection. Over half of them were over twice the cost of what Stonebriar Chevrolet dealership charged for the exact same services. Things like flushing brake fluid and stuff. Sure they were nice but they didn't roll out the red carpet like the other reviews seem to express. I never got follow up calls to thank me for my business, nor did I get discounts for being a first time customer. I won't go back again mostly because I just wasn't blown away like I expected. I feel like it's much better (and safer) to get work done at a Chevy dealership where they know my truck better and prices are more fair. read more
