Do not buy a car from this place! This is a place that buys a lot of vehicles to sell however they sit on the lot for a long time and are not maintained regularly like a larger dealership. I purchased a vehicle outright (no financing) almost a year ago and have had nothing but problems. Transmission went bad, radiator went bad, valve gaskets and covers went bad, and much more. Vehicle Service Contract? Worthless. They wanted to put in a used transmission that had a 120,000 miles on it. Would not cover anything. This is a "stack em deep and sell em cheap" place. If you want to get a cheap car and you have the money to do a lot of maintenance on it right from the jump, sure go for the cash car from here. Check Carfax to see how long it's been on the lot. My son bought a car from Mondial (8/27/18) to take back and forth to college in Waco. We eventually spoke with Sam who was very friendly and seemed to show great concern for my son's well being, citing his son who was at the office who was going to Baylor (close to where my son was going) for medical school and how he wanted to make sure the car ($3,500) was in tip top condition. He kept the car a few extra days as "he wanted to treat my son as his own and make sure the car is good". We explained that my son was starting school on Monday and we needed to have it by Saturday we were assured that the 3 days would be enough time to get it ready. Unfortunately, he was not able to get the car ready in time and I had to drive my son to school for the first day. When we got there and spoke with Sam, he bragged about all of the things he did to it (his mechanic was flubbing around for some reason that is now clear) and that the price was now $3,800 due to all of the work he did to it. My son couldn't miss school so were forced to buy the car...and at that time we were also informed about the "binding arbitrary agreement" that we were required to sign as well. My son gave him $3,841.72 in cash, which was the culmination of 3 years of mowing grass and working a part time job and shook Sam's hand. Sam wished him well on his school journey. Approximately 2 weeks later, my son calls to tell me that the car had broke down on the side of the road and would not start. Sam had informed me that it was probably a sensor control issue, so over the next few days as time permitted we replaced the 4 of them, however, the car still would not start. Since this was out of my expertise, I hired an independent mechanic to look at the car and was told IMMEDIATELY that the car's timing chain had broke, further that since it was a chain (and not a belt) and in looking at the car closer, it was obvious that whoever sold me the car knew about it (chains do not just break) and its a "common" scam to get rid of cars. The mechanic felt so bad about how Sam screwed my son over that he REFUSED to take payment for the diagnosis (he is a mobile mechanic) and gave me an attorney's name/number and a sworn statement. Not wanting to believe someone that said that he viewed my son as his own and created a feeling of family (as noted by other older comments), I called and left a number of messages to talk to him about what could be done to fix it. When I FINALLY reached him and explained the series of events (and I so wish I would have recorded this because I wouldn't believe it if you said it to me), he said that I could bring it in, but because it was one of two types of engines, the engine was destroyed and it would cost more to replace than it was worth. The way he rattled this information off, it was obvious he KNEW that the timing chain was ready to go and was looking for a sucker (my son) to dump it off. He then said that he will check on something and call me back. I called around and got quotes around $3000 JUST for the belt, the engine, etc would be more. ALL future calls left for him have went un-returned. I left messages on the recorder, cell phone, with his son.......... and nothing. I was trying to give the benefit of the doubt and even in light of the evidence to the contrary say he did NOT know that the chain (not belt) was ready to break and do a split the difference and at least try to be fair about an unfortunate incident. But his actions (rather inaction) tells me that he took advantage of my son. Since my son was in such a pinch having to drive 200 miles a day for school, I ended up junking the car at a loss of over $2,800 and bought him a car from a reputable dealer. Believe whatever you would like from this event, but I have researched the arbitration document I was "forced" to sign. That document signs away MOST of my rights to go after him, it takes the control of this matter going to a court (which we all know who would win given the facts) to a company that HE decides (shocker on how they will vote). PLUS, instead of the process being court(aka minimal fees) and being able to do discovery, etc. YOU (not he) has to pay A LOT of money to go through binding arbitration. AND when (not if) you lose, you then have to pay his attorney fees as well. Its a win win for car dealerships, but HORRIBLE for average consumers like my son. Again, believe WHATEVER you want, I would just BEG anyone that after reading this that would still would buy a car from this company to REFUSE to sign the binding arbitration agreement (IT IS NOT REQUIRED BY STATE LAW AS I WAS TOLD). At least if something happens, you won't be in the same position my son is in. The two vehicles that I bought around the same time for my son and myself didn't even bring that up (and oddly enough, they are both running just fine). The good of this is that my son learned a VERY valuable lesson that day, not all fathers have the same integrity. read more

I was in there earlier this week to purchase a car cash. Once I got there, I was told by Sam that they were closing early, so I was not able to purchase. I still looked at the car I wanted and told him about my concern. He asked if I could come back that same day which wasn't a possibility since I too an uber there. I told him I would try for the next day but wasn't able to. I call to find out that the issue that was wrong with the car hasn't been fixed and there is not a time frame to get it fixed. Do not purchase from this lot. Worst car purchase experience ever. They deferred agreed (under contract) maintenance for three months, and because of it several other problems came up with car. Dealer refuses to acknowledge error. I have had to come out of pocket for all maintenance actions and towing due to their negligence. Currently battling in small claims court. To avoid the headache, please do not purchase from Mondial. Nothing but troubles! AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I would give no stars if Google would allow. Run. I Would not recommend buying a used car from him at the prices that he charges. He will help you fix small repairs like brakes easy stuff but the serious stuff he doesn't want to accept responsibility for which is not cool considering the prices that he charges for the cars. My story is simple. I purchased a 2003 Honda Cr-V from him. The car had a check engine light on when I bought it but i figured it was the airbag because the airbag light was on as well. The car drove sluggish but well enough to not suspect a blown head gasket or misfire. The younger sales guy just said it was a 4 cylinder which is the same reason I thought it was driving sluggish too. Drive it all the way back to houston, Honda did the recall on the airbags but the car continued to have problems week after week after week. The check engine light corresponded to a burned out O2 sensor and catalytic converter. I fixed that for 600.00 combined. No big deal right? Next but the car still didn't drive right. I pulled out the spark plugs to find oil leaking onto the spark plugs, I figured ok it has a nasty valve cover leak no big deal lets just replace the plugs and valve cover gasket. The car ran ok for a week before it started overheating and throwing check engine light codes P0302 Cylinder 2 misfire and P0113 intake Air Temperature Sensor Circuit High Input. After dealing with it overheating for 2 days, that was the last straw for me. The funny part is that I called Mr. Sam today and before the dealership could even confirm what the issue was, he was blaming me for a blown head gasket. Really?????? After one month of owning the vehicle and dealing with it's repeated issues, it's somehow my fault? He absolutely refuses to give anyone their money back and so now I must take his ass to court just to get my $4,700.00 back for this vehicle cylinder #2 misfire and blown head gasket. Honda Dealership confirmed today that the head gasket is indeed blown and has been for quite some time more than the 1 month I owned the car. So evidently Mr. Sam knew of this car's history and chose to sell this car with a Honda Recall on it, Check Engine Light, and of course the blown head gasket. I have pumped at least$1,500 in repairs to this car, a blown head gasket is the end of the line for a used car and a complete loss to the owner, it doesn't matter if the car is bought as is. "As is" means I buy a used car in reasonable working condition with no serious problems and I accept responsibility for the maintenance. A BLOWN HEAD GASKET IS NOT NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR!!! It means he sold the car with this problem and now he doesn't want to deal with it or refund my money. He also has other guys who want to sue him because he sold them a crappy crown vic, so this guy is getting sued all the time and apparently doesn't care what it does to his business so all I want to do is get my money back that's it. SO SAFE YOUR HARD EARNED DOLLARS, SKIP THE INDEPENDENT DEALERS AND BUY YOUR USED CAR FROM A DEALERSHIP LIKE CHEVY OR HONDA OR TOYOTA TO AVOID PROBLEMS LIKE THIS! read more

Guys a scam artist and there's no way around that. Yes if he has a good running car he'll sell it to you but if he has a lemon he's gonna sell it to you and not tell you the issues. When I bought my car from him he reset the check engine code on his obd2 scanner so it could pass inspection and transfer the lemon to me. The car had and I quote "catastrophic engine failure" two weeks into owning it. Completely car based cause the camshaft position sensor was cut on the bottom of the engine. I had my mobile mechanic AL take a look at it and he told me he's heard about this guy doing this before. I called up mondial and after being transfered to his son he said they aren't gonna do anything about it. Where they get you is they have some papers you sign that prevent you from being able to use the lemon law in Texas. If I hadn't signed the paperwork I would have been able to get a full refund for the car. But unfortunately I was scammed out of 5 thousand hard earned dollars. My goal of writing this review is to hopefully show some potential customers what you're dealing with. My son bought a truck from here about 3 months ago. Paid $6200 for a 2002 dodge ram 1500. Was told radio/ heat/ a/c all worked great, etc. Radio DOES not work and even though we said we wouldn't choose that truck if the radio wasn't working, it was rigged long enough to work until we left. the next time it was started, no radio. something screwed up in the wiring. within a couple of weeks, radiator is leaking. replaced radiator, pump, s belt, spark plugs. few weeks after that, it broke down again - needed towing and then its the alternator and a new battery. NOW, as of last night, broke down again - and it needs a new engine. how can this be legal? I don't understand. We have called a couple of times to get the owner and will continue to call and see what they say but not putting another dime into this vehicle. its been 3 months and its going to be a 10k truck! I'm disappointed and heart broken that people can sell something that doesn't even last more than a couple of weeks. The radio was a no selling point for my son and unfortunately, we couldn't even make it a day with that working. I truly hope this can be worked out, who can afford a new engine?? read more

My husband and I recently purchased a Honda Accord at Mondial and our experience was wonderful! We worked primarily with Sam as well as with Andre and they both provided excellent customer service. I must say that this was by far the best experience in purchasing a vehicle for our family. There was no pressure what soever. We explained to Sam what our budget/needs were and he showed us the best vehicles that fit our budget as well as met our needs. Sam kept to our budget but since we are loyal Honda customers, we ended up purchasing a Honda that was a little bit more which was absolutely fine with us.
