Went in for a routine inspection to renew my car registration. Took them over a day because they forgot about it. Drove my car the next day as the first time driving it since, and got pulled over for a broken tail light and headlight. Told the officer there was no way that was possibly because I just got my inspection and was all clear. Also would like to note I didn't have this problem when I went into the shop. Officer honestly told me they either screwed me over, or were a bs shop that just passes inspections for money (good thing he got their information after I showed him my receipt). I went in on Monday when they were open next to inform them of this and was told "well sometimes those things just go out". Just interesting how it exactly coincided with when they had my car, to next time I turn it on it is faulty. Was told they would fix it free of charge, and then continued to charge me. I also have a voice recording of this false exchange along with all receipts. Used to be a good shop years ago, must've changed management. Before this incident I brought my car in because it was breaking down. I was told there was nothing wrong with it and it was a false alarm, despite me overly explaining the problem with it along with receipts. Within 10 minutes of leaving the parking lot I was stranded with a broken down car in August Texas heat after being told I was being dramatic and "there is nothing wrong with it". I had to pay for a tow truck back to the shop. Definitely go with a man, they don't take girls seriously. Must be new management. read more

Left my car here for them to take a look at the air conditioner. Got a call back with a $1700 estimate. So, I declined the work and told them I will pick up the car. I was slapped with a $100 diagnostic charge. I asked them why wasn't I told about the charge in advance? The replies, "do you work for free?", "every single person who comes here pays that fee", "It is your responsibility to ask for any fees you may incur before you left your keys here". Oh after paying my diagnostic fee, I was also told "next time keep your car. don't bring it here" I have no issues paying your fee, but tell me in advance. Don't rip me off. Run your business ethically. Next thing you know, you take the car to them to check for a rattling sound and they tell you it will cost $5k for repairs and if you decline, you still pay some crazy $500 diagnostic fee. And best of all you will not be told about the diagnostic fee in advance, because their policy is "don't ask, don't tell!!". Scammers! Save your time and money. Go to Beas Auto Repair in coppell. I had been told when I got my car inspected that the brake pads needed to be replaced. I thought this was a little strange given the low mileage on my car, so I took my car to Coppell Tire & Auto to get looked at. After the complementary brake inspection, they told me that the brake pads were completely fine and didn't charge me anything even though I wasted their time. I took my car in to have them take a look at my AC. Brad was very friendly and helpful on the phone, unlike some other shops I called beforehand, as well as in person. I suspected the blower was gone, and that's what it turned out to be. Incidentally, that's also all they fixed. They could have screwed me by telling me everything else needed to be replaced, and I would have been none the wiser. However they didn't. It's rare to find honest service in technical areas such as auto/computer repair, and that's what completely sold me. I ended up with a very reasonable bill, much less than I had anticipated. They also disclosed the exact dollar amount over the phone before performing the work. I actually assumed the stated amount to be before-tax, and in addition to the initial diagnostic fee of $48. It turned out to be actually all-inclusive, much to my surprise! The car was ready just a few hours after I dropped it off, so I was able to pick it up after lunch. They also offer complimentary shuttle service while your car is in the shop. All-around top notch shop. I recommend it to everyone! I called on a Saturday morning to explain my car was making strange noises back by the rear axle, hypothesizing it was the brakes, and asking if I could get it checked out. I was told to try my luck with a walk-in, with no offer to make an appointment. I arrived and, of course, they're slammed. No one greeted me or seemed particularly interested that I was there. One of the most noticeable things about the too-small waiting area is the sign behind the counter: WE DON'T BRING OUR EGGS TO RESTAURANTS SO DON'T BRING YOUR PARTS TO US!! Wow. I mean, I get that you want to supply your own parts and make money on the mark-up, and I get that you don't want to guarantee your work if you're using crummy parts the cheap car owner brought you but...better ways to communicate this, bro. (Try this on for size: "In order to ensure the highest quality of workmanship, we are only able to use parts supplied by Coppell Tire & Auto" There. That was free.) I was told that they MIGHT be able to take a look in about two hours which would have given them about 30 minutes to work on it before closing for the weekend. No. Thanks. I took my key back and never returned. It just blows my mind that these guys (and most auto repair shops) completely miss the value of a potential customer walking in the door and practically begging to give you money. Offer something! We'll stay late to fix it...we'll loan you a car...we'll take $X off our normal rate so you can rent something. Or even just, "I'm sorry we can't see you today...let me book an appointment for you for next weekend so we can be sure to help you then." I mean, at least PRETEND you want my business. read more

They completed complete front and rear brake service (I know it really needed it -- I have been known to service my own brakes in the past, but didn't really want to take the time). They were also able to solve a nagging problem on one wheel that I had forgot to mention (my lug nuts would start to come loose - not good!). They also evaluated power steering because I didn't trust my previous shop that had done some work there. They said it was OK Prices are VERY reasonable. I originally discovered this place over ten years ago when I needed a simple oil change and they are only a block away from my job. I later took a vehicle I owned back to them because my check engine light came on and it was running poorly. That afternoon the owner, Shannon... Told me that the issue was a sensor. Before he ordered a new sensor... He tried cleaning it off and reinstalled it. That actually fixed the issue and his words were, "no way I can charge you for just wiping the damn thing off on my jeans and plugging it back in." That level of honesty is what won my loyalty because he could have easily still made whatever amount he wanted off of that repair but chose not to. Thanks to Shannon and crew for reviving our 1994 Volvo! It had a blown head gasket. We had written off our Volvo last week when it overheated. They said it may need a new engine but they may be able to replace the head gasket. If it needed a new engine we were going to have to sell it for parts. The interior and exterior are in excellent shape so it made us sick that we might loose this car. They could have easily replaced my battery with a new one and i wouldn't have know the difference. I've been going to these guys for about 8 years. My kids have a 1999 Honda Accord with over 100k miles and a 1994 Volvo 940 with 195k miles. Every time I have ventured to another repair shop, I've always wound up paying more and then taking my car back to Shannon and crew to fix the other shop's mistakes. We've even had issues with warranty companies that these guys tried to work with them. They did an incredible amount of work that the warranty company required but did not pay them. So I am a student at A&M down in college station, and my car has been having lots of problems since March. I took it to 2 places in cstat which both suggested thousands of dollars in repairs that we could not afford and seemed to cause more problems than they fixed.
