I ordered Chicken Teriyaki/Gyoza combo, with the sauce on the side. It also came with a side salad and mac salad. The portion size of the teriyaki, saladi and rice, were good. However although the chicken had decent flavor, both the chicken and rice were sadly a bit on the dry side, especially the rice. The mac salad was good though and service was fast. Ok, this is a PSA announcement. We went in for lunch after our team game. And my friend ordered the spicy seafood noodle. Within hours she felt sick, then by evening she kept telling me she needs to throw up. Stomach rubbles, Drowsy and sickly. She couldn't eat or drink anything as it would make her even more sick. By the next day, she threw up and didn't eat it drink anything as it would make her throw up again. She did she she felt better after throwing up but now her face is full of popped bloods vessels all over her face from throwing up. Not a doc, but this sounds like food poisoning. Really rude wait staff encounter tonight. Our daughter wanted some water and mistakenly took the water cup and dispensed soda. She did not know where the special water button was. The wait staff came over to demand for the cost of the drink. We don't mind paying but we told the staff our child is a kid and it was an honest mistake. The staff responded rudely saying that we have to pay because of policy. After we paid the staff did not give us the actual fountain cup. We had to ask for it. Ramen at Hong Noodle is good - flavorful broth and chewy noodles. I got the Spicy Tonkotsu with Pork Chashu Ramen and was able to adjust the spice level to mild. Portions are generous and menu pricing is reasonable compared to Seattle prices. The chicken karaage and shrimp & vegetable tempura were heavily battered and really not to my liking. Craving for ramen, looked up Yelp and suggested by our fellow Yelpers. We were not disappointed. I don't eat pork so a lot of tonkatsu broth I can't have but this place offers cold noodles and veggies broth. I ended up trying the cold noodles with Kimchi and teriyaki chicken on top. The noodles were so chewy. The first sip of the broth is sweet and hints of spicy and yet refreshing. I added Ajitama and more bean sprouts. We also ordered the Geso Karaage. It was great. ** Visited on 7/7/2024 Came here on a Sunday around noon time. My first impression is that the restaurant was pretty spacious and offered plenty of seating. I had came with a group of 12 and though we grouped up at different tables, we were able to get situated quickly. The ordering system is quite simple- you order at a kiosk, sit at a table and a staff member brings out your order. The tables have utensils ready for you, and I believe there was a small area for extra things such as condiments and napkins for you to grab. OKAY THE FOOD: I had ordered the Pork Chashu Tonkatsu Ramen with low sodium & an egg, and it was alright. It was good, but I felt like it was a pretty generic and simple ramen bowl. I appreciate that the ramen was still chewy and not overcooked, but I wasn't amazed by the dish. I'd say that this spot would be great for a quick and easy meal and if you're craving a bowl of ramen. I went here for lunch on a Monday as I was a little under the weather and didn't want to go to office, and wanted something soupy especially with the increasingly colder weather as summer is ending. I got the spicy Nagasaki seafood ramen which has shrimp and octopus, along with some grilled onions and vegetables. It is kind of a fusion of Chinese and Japanese flavors, served with a thin ramen noodle. The broth is okay, as there is some nice tonkotsu flavor, though the noodle flavor is a bit too prominent to properly mesh both flavors together well. I also added an egg for $1.50, which turned out to be overcooked, so it was a little disappointing. Fortunately, the place is not busy and you order at a kiosk, and food is fairly quick to arrive. We stumbled upon Hong Noodle by accident. We were trying to go to another restaurant and that place was packed, with a huge line out the door. Sooo, plan B was to check out somewhere else nearby for dinner that had soup. Hence, we came to Hong Noodle. We visited Hong Noodle for dinner on a Wednesday and the place had a few patrons dining in, but wasn't busy. When you walk in, there's a touchscreen where you can order and pay before picking a seat where your food is delivered to your table once it's ready. Simple enough. My partner ordered a bulgogi ramen while I had the spicy tonkotsu ramen. We also shared a teriyaki meat combination plate, which my partner ended up taking most for his lunch the next day since the ramens were a big portion. It didn't take long for our food to arrive and the ramen was solid. I liked the slight char on the pork tonkotsu, which added a nice flavor. The spicy tonkotsu wasn't too spicy, but was good. It was a solid bowl of ramen and had a lot more meat than I expected, which was nice. Of the teriyaki I tried, I thought the beef was overcooked, so would recommend sticking with the chicken here. Hong Noodle is a casual eatery, featuring ramen, teriyaki and other Asian favorites in the Eastgate neighborhood near Safeway. Noodle Noodle - Horrible Experience Worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant. I went on Saturday (September 26) and bitterly regretted it. The food was a total disaster: drenched in grease, poorly prepared, with a rancid taste. Pork was so much cooked fat that it was more meat than meat. I ordered a dish called chinchi pandle--the meat was spoiled, either the restaurant owner uses donated meat or gets garbage from downtown Seattle. The tofu was hard and dry, clearly frozen for months. The result? I spent the entire Sunday (September 27) with a stomachache and diarrhea. I had to cancel appointments scheduled weeks ago. The place is filthy; it seemed like no one cleaned. The bathroom smelled like sewage and was disgusting. And the atmosphere? Even worse. They played reggaeton at full volume through a cheap speaker, distorting and giving everyone a headache. I politely asked to lower the volume and was completely ignored. Instead of a restaurant, it felt like I was trapped in a low-rent nightclub. I left with an earache, a stomachache, and the certainty that this place is a trap for anyone who loves good food. This is my go to place for comfort food on a cold rainy day. The steamy bowl of noodles in broth arrives promptly at my table which is set in front of a window. As I gently pull and fold the noodles using chopsticks, mixing them with succulent squares of tofu, delicate sheets of nori, and sliced vegetables, steam from the bowl slowly fogs up the window. I like to eat ramen the opposite way my friends do. I drink the hot broth first and then slurp up the noodles and delicious morsels, saving the best for last. There's a large video screen when you enter to place your order (this is for dine in as well as take out). Then it's just a matter of a short wait in the spacious interior and voilà, the meal is ready to go. My missing fifth star is because they could do better with sustainability. In addition to using plastic bags and containers, they continue to include utensils and napkins without asking first, which goes against state regulations that have been in place all year. It took a while to get our food but it also looked like there was only one person taking the orders AND taking orders out which is really unfortunate for her. I was not going to come here because I'm not a fan of Ramen noodles. I think it's overpriced for noodles. I was surprised to see they had teriyaki chicken which we ordered and we also ordered a shrimp on skewers. Both came with rice, salad and macaroni salad. I think the portions were very nice size. Came here for the tofu ramen, and ended up getting sick from it (lots of trips to the bathroom all night and day.) As for the actual ramen, the noodles have a more chewy texture, the broth is very salty despite getting low sodium and it generally lacked flavor. I hadn't had ramen in forever since it doesn't travel well for takeout but since this place was empty (due to the early hours) we felt safe to eat in. Cautious- don't over order; the portions are HUGE- got two tsukemen, a donburi, and a takiyaki and fried octopus for two ppl and we couldn't finish everything. The tsukemen was delicious- dipping soup very flavorful (a teeny bit salty) and they give a generous amount of yummy thick slices of pork. Like probably 6-7 pieces. I could barely finish my order and everytime I found another piece of pork I was happy but also like "wow really?!" The appetizers were also rly good- takoyaki was fluffy and fried octopus was crunchy and batter not doughy. I was supposed to write a review for Hong Noodles awhile ago and just haven't had a chance to do it. I'm glad I waited because I've eaten there countless times since. The first time I ordered gyoza ramen and I was disappointed. The only thing memorable about it was how let down I felt eating it lol (dramatic but honest). It was just plain and nothing worth coming back for. However, I live close by and really like supporting local businesses so I gave Hong Noodles another shot. That next time, I ordered the Pork Spicy Tonkotsu and this dish is DELICIOUS!!!!! Flavorful, balanced and just perfect for a lazy winters day. This is my go to dish now when I order. I've also ordered for my 2 year old (I take the noddles and broth for her before mixing the spices), 17 year old and husband and they all love it. Also, made my friend come to order take out and she enjoyed it. I'm also impressed that the business owner is replying to the Yelp reviews. I like that she's taking initiative, trying to resolve issues and being present with her business. I definitely recommend if you're in need of a hearty, warm dish for the Seattle freeze. I am so happy this noodle spot opened close to my house! First time I tried spicy seafood ramen was winter last year and I sometimes crave this noodle when the weather gets chilly. They use special sauce from Kyoto and food presentation is just perfect! You'll get 3 shrimps (you get 4 of you are lucky ,) squid, cabbage, onions, and green onions. We finally decided to come here to try and thought it was ok. This place is pretty near our place and we were waiting sooooo long for it to open. Hoping that they hyped has down and covid-19 decrease the crowds, we decided to give this place a try. You order up front and then find a place to sit and they will bring the food out to you. So, we got: Seafood nabe: a little pricey, very soupy, plenty of seafood but also on the salty side. Definitely need noodle or rice to help (which cost extra). Okonomyaki: very basic, too mushy (needs to cook longer) - a little small for price Grapefruit honey shaved ice - the best thing we got. It was huge and refreshing, the flavor combo didn't really work though, the grapefruit was bitter, the honey comb should have been broken in small pieces as it was very sticky and very hard to eat. I will definitely come back to do another shaved ice, and maybe try their noodle dishes since that is what it's known for, but maybe stay away from their other food. read more

I'm changing my review to 4 stars because I went here for lunch today and saw something that really disturbed me. The girl that took our order was eating at the computer in the front of the restaurant, then continued to package up a to go order without washing her hands. It's a pandemic, I don't think it's appropriate to eat at the front regardless, if it were my restaurant I would not allow my employees to just walk around eating. When I got up to tell her she said "thanks for telling me" she probably thought I was just a Karen but it's very serious that people in the restaurant industry are clean and take all precautions. Sit down for a lunch break, and wash your hands before handling food. Also when cashing out it prompts to tip, and I don't understand why if nobody is bringing you food or water, and also I think it's bus your own table. So what exactly are we tipping for? The ramen was great per usual, one thing I would change is normally the toppings always come on the side and today they were in the ramen... the presentation on the side is much nicer and I like to see what I'm getting.
