When locals recommended Honey's to this OC visitor I knew I should try it, and I was so glad I did! This is my second visit and this time it was for lunch. I am picky about food, it has to be fresh, with great texture and variety and The Ahi Salad was the perfect choice. As you can see the ahi is generous, cooked to perfection and garnished beautifully. The salad was of surprises and tasted so good I took home that which I couldn't finish in one sitting. The Texas toast was a nice surprise and I'm not a bread eater usually. My first visit was for breakfast; the lattes are really good as was the vegetable omelette. There are such a lot of great options it was hard to choose. My omelette was fresh, not overly oily and tasted just right. I like the ambiance at Honey's with its warm interior and the large open window onto the street which has tables in front for those who like to outside. Honey's is my new go-to in Encinitas for breakfast and lunch.
Staff is really nice, self-serve coffee is always a plus, prices are pretty decent, especially comparing to Swamis. $16.75 for an omlette comparing to $18+ at other places. Id suggest checking iut menu before hand, as once ur in line you need to order. He recommended the chai, Ill have to try it next visit :)
In town for the weekend & decided to stop in here for brunch after our hike! Cute little restaurant with indoor/outdoor seating, I ordered the ABC croissant (avocado, bacon, cheddar) it was good. My husband ordered the South of the Boarder breakfast burrito that was pretty good! My favorite item was the dirty chai latte, definitely one of the best ones I've had! We hope to come back and try their stuffed French toast that look absolutely delicious. Service was friendly, only confusing part was the ordering. You wait in line & order then find seating, while some people took tables before ordering which made others wait. Just a bit disorganized with seating but overall great spot
Trying new places is super fun! Was in the area for the weekend and saw their menu had a lot of tasty breakfast items so we stopped by. You order at the counter and the guy taking our order was very friendly and welcoming. The place wasnt too packed yet so we got to sit right away. My mom got the blueberry & cream cheese stuffed french toast - REALLY good and very rich! The blueberrys were very ripe and fresh. My mom wished it had been a bit more buttery. I got the eggs benedict which was fine - your basic benedict. I wasnt wild about the house potatoes personally. I think next time i would get the steak benedict. They have a good selection. We got some coffee to go - the pepp mocha for me and honey latte for my mom and they were delicious!! Did not skimp on flavor. Cute and open space - lots of plants and good lighting. The self serve coffee bar was cool too! You could even get your own to go boxes. Its the perfect blend of getting stuff yourself and being waited on. Everything came out really quick too. Do not miss this place!
My daughter and I came here for breakfast and it was fantastic!! Very friendly service as we were greeted as soon as we stepped in. I had the stuffed brioche French toast filled with cream cheese and blueberries, with fresh strawberries and blueberries on top. Both fruits were perfectly ripe and delicious! Seriously, I haven't had a better strawberry in forever and never such a perfect blueberry! I wish I had had a chance to try the red velvet pancakes but they'll have to wait til next time! Coffee is self-serve, which is great as there are different flavours and a decaf option as well. To-go drinks are also available - we got a honey latter and peppermint mocha to take with us. Very cute interior and also some outdoor seating. I can't wait to go back!
First time coming to the Encinitas area and this is a really lovely place! I love the open space outside and the inside is also friendly aesthetic! Managed to find a good parking spot even on a Sunday afternoon so that ways a big bonus haha. Seasonal Red Velvet Peach Pancakes - 10/10 Really light and fluffy pancakes and that combination of red velvet and Peach was really unbelievable! Definitely would not have thought of something like this myself. Seasonal menu was a little hidden but glad we managed to peek a look at it online before coming in. Healthy Chicken Sandwich - 9/10 I would have asked for a few customizations here if I went again. The sourdough was flavorful but they actually buttered it which I was not a fan of. Sauteed spinach on the inside also looked quite wet so I'm not sure if it was oil or just water. Really hoping it was water but I would have asked for less oil on this. Good amount of chicken in there which was nice. We were actually afraid that the the sun-dried tomatoes would be too oily so we asked for them on the side but they were actually quite perfect! Chicken was also cooked well and had a good amount of chicken in here Avocado was missing though so that was a little sad. Half order Eggs Benedict - 10/10 Husband got this "it was nice!" he said! He's a major Eggs Benedict person, so this is definitely one to recommend! Side Salad - Husband and I both asked for this on the side of the sandwich and the eggs Benedict. Nice way to get some veggies in without ordering a salad. Portion size was also quite big so that was nice. I didn't try the dressing but husband did and he said it was actually really really lovely. So much so that he wanted some for home! Churro Waffles Another season that our friends got. I think they actually like it because that whole plate was wiped clean! Looked really fluffy on the inside and it came with a lot of berries on top and actually looked really pretty as well. Vegetarian Breakfast burrito with Soyrizo - Friends ordered this and not going to lie this actually looked delicious! Really proper stuffed burrito that they crisped up nicely on the outside! Love how this place actually offered customization is because my friends actually customized her their order to make this burrito vegetarian but not boring.
On the main strip of Encinitas is this lovely place with a full page of breakfast items ranging from the classic eggs Benedict, to the south of the border chilaquiles Verde. On the flip side is a full page of lunch items like burgers, Patty melts, and lush salads. Our table ordered lunch: Turkey melts that were an elevated grilled cheese and a California chicken wrap with lots of juicy chicken Breastfeeding. The side salad comes with a delicious poppyseed dressing and the fries are textured in that good-good kinda way. iykyk. The world is expensive these days but I felt that this was a good deal. The portions are big and a side was included! I could only eat half the wrap anyways, so that stretched the value into 2 meals! Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area.
Great breakfast spot! I hadn't been here in several years but was in the area. They remolded the entire inside. Lots of seating and options on the patio as well. The menu is massive, so many tasty options. Cocktails and coffee as well. Servers were friendly. The location is nice right on the 101. Lots of shops and fun spots walking distance.
I've been coming to Honey's for 25 years. The restaurant has changed and modernized over the last five years but the heart of this place has not changed. In my opinion it has the best breakfast in Encinitas. The variety, quality, and consistency is incredible! The service is amazing but so chill and laidback. They will modify to meet any dietary needs but the variety of options offers something for everyone. I always get the all natural chicken breakfast burrito with potatoes. But I recommend any of the eggs benedict or omelette options.
I brought my friend here yesterday for breakfast after searching online "best breakfast places in Encinitas". You stand in a line to order and then you find your seat and we chose to sit outside. It was wonderful. The people outside were fun. Everybody was talking to each other. We shared our seat with a stranger who was great conversation. We ordered Iced Matcha and our breakfasts, both were very good. Definitely will come again. The only thing that was a little off was when I ordered my omelette the girl said what would you like for the side and I said what are the sides and she says it's right there and she points to it. Very quick, not helpful just brash. Okay now I didn't say it, but I thought to myself how hard would it be to say potatoes, fruit, cottage cheese? Anyway, the print is really small for me. It would've taken nothing for her to be kind and just say what the sides were. She's truly just standing there. And then when it was time to pay our bill it asks you to tip and that's when I tipped nothing and I always tip well. We all work hard for our money and I'm not going to tip somebody that can't even tell me what my side options are. She just wasn't a nice girl. Anyway, if you are looking for a really cute place to take a friend or to take your wife, it is great.
The service was quick and the gentleman at the front was very honest when recommending between two dishes. I liked that there was both indoor and outdoor seating which allows you to choose a calmer or more busy environment. The food was presented nicely but I did feel that my dish could have been more seasoned. During this visit I got the artichoke sausage omelette and my friend got the Tuna melt. I preferred the tuna melt I would definitely try again.
I've always walked by Honey's wanting to try their food because we named our mini golden doodle Honey and the restaurant is always hopping. It was available for delivery so decided to give it a try. Ordered an Açaí bowl and it was Massive while packed to the brim. Apple juice base and filled with fruits. I ended up eating half and then putting it in the freezer to eat the other half later. Was refreshing after it was frozen too. I definitely want to try their other food now because I bet the portions are big!

The thought never occurred to me to check out any breakfast places, but I'm glad I discovered this one, it's been a little over 10 years since I've had Steak and eggs for breakfast, and Donnette the manager is a wonderful human being! We've been to many of the breakfast spots on this particular block of Encinitas. This was the last one we wanted to try and stopped there before heading onward. Honey's Bistro was a nice place. You ordered at the counter and found a nice table to wait for your food. I went for the eggs and potatoes and my girlfriend stuck with lunch and had a wrap with fries. It was good food and a nice day outside. I'd definitely tell people to come by. read more

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Honeys. It was our first time eating here. We ordered Chilaquiles, French Toast, and the Italian Spinach omelet. Pictures are provided. The wait was short, staff was accommodating and friendly. Temperature was San Diego open air. Dogs were present outside in the patio which was literally on PCH sidewalk. Walkers and joggers pass through. Sound level was the quietest among all the other SD restaurants this weekend, very walkable. Food was fresh, hot temperature, on clean dishes, appropriately portioned and shareable. Ingredients were balanced and of high quality. Experience and skill in food design and preparation was apparent. Great place to meet and talk with 2 to 8 people and seems child friendly. Water tasted pleasant, which means food is cooked with good stock. Facilities were clean, stocked, and maintained for the most part. A few noted items need freshening and/or repair. Recorded dB levels were 65 to 75. read more

I'm a sucker for a good breakfast, especially when they have an al fresco dining option. Honey's was good, there was a line but plenty of seating options. It's order and pay at the cashier then they bring out the food to you. Nice patio seating area that's puppy friendly and spacious right off the 101. I was overloaded by their menu but in a good way. They literally have something for everyone which is wonderful, except when you don't know what you want to order. I love asparagus and Benedicts are my go to so veggie Benedict it was! It didn't take too long to come out and when it did, it was beautiful. Unfortunately our order wasn't right, my friend ordered fruit vs potatoes, I asked for hollandaise on the side, it was served on and both of our potatoes were very well done, but all in all, it was a tasty meal. read more

There are a few breakfast/brunch spots around this area that are worth a visit and Honey's is definitely one of them. The vibes are modern and clean, with good food and friendly service. While they have both inside and outside seating, as well as taking over the establishment next door, this place gets busy and you'll often see a line out the door. I got a hazelnut latte to start and while it was definitely tasty, it was a tad sweet for me (I absolutely don't have a sweet tooth). We ordered the chilaquiles with verde sauce and the lobster eggs benedict. While both were pretty good, I'd say there wasn't anything that was amazing. I did love the verde sauce and the tortilla chips they used, however, when the food was served to us the chips were already soggy. The lobster tasted so good and the potatoes served with it were crispy and well seasoned. It may just be a me-thing, but overall I didn't love the texture of the lobster on this egg benedict. They have a pretty expansive menu and I'd love to come back next time and try a few other items when we visit SD. Overall a great place and it is definitely well-loved by locals and visitors. Their brunch is so good! I can see why there is a line out the door! My friend got a Chai tea, while I opted for a hot chocolate. They added whipped cream and little flowers to my drink. We also got a couple of mocktails and they were both so beautifully decorated and so refreshing. For food, we shared the smoked salmon bagel and lox and red velvet waffles. Their presentation is on point! My waffles tasted as good as it looked. Too bad they are so far from me because I would definitely frequent this place if they were closer. read more
My friend and I love eating here when we're in the area - it's our go to breakfast spot: You go up to the register and order and they bring the food to you. The servers are warm and welcoming. It's a cute little restaurant along the 101, with large open windows, ceiling fans and a touch of plants here and there. Their avocado toast and ABC breakfast croissant are delicious! We never finish either because you get so much for what you pay for, which is great. The croissant is soft and flaky and the avocado inside as well as on the toast was perfectly ripe. The side of fruit is pretty good, I just wish the honeydew I've gotten in the past was a little sweeter. Besides that, Ive always been pretty content with whatever I get. They have to-go containers/bags, water glasses and a water dispenser out for convenience too. I can't wait to visit again! read more

This review is primarily based on the chilaquiles, which were not to my taste. I specifically requested no onions but still received them plus had kale or some leafy green in the verde sauce. It was spicier than expected as well. Saying that, my mom had the two egg breakfast and loved it and I appreciated the friendly and efficient service. An indoor party left so we were able to snag an inside table instead of braving the cold outside. read more

On a main street in Encinitas, it's not uncommon to see a long line. I got here around 11:30, and placed my order just after 12:00, so the line can be a bit slow. The ordering process is very fast-casual with ordering at the counter and having things brought to your table. The space inside is nice, but seating is limited and may be difficult since you can't reserve a seat. We ended up having to sit at one of their outdoor tables fully in the sun, as they only cover the larger tables with umbrellas. The mimosas were very cute, and the food did come out pretty quickly for us. My friend did not have any complaints about the chilaquiles aside from it having kale. I was very disappointed in my order. I ordered the steak eggs Benedict with a fruit cup for the side. On delivery, there were two napkins under the fruit cup and both were dirty/looked used. The steak itself was cooked fine, but large fat caps were left on which resulted in very unpleasant bites. I took off about 2oz of fat from the 8oz portion they state on their menu. The eggs were cooked well, but shell was somehow left in the poached eggs; I had a few bites where I crunched down unexpectedly. read more
Dropped by a few days ago on our way to San Diego for the weekend. At first I wasn't too fond of waiting in line, ordering my food and drink and sitting down but it was prompt service! The food was delicious, i had the chorizo scramble and my partner enjoyed the abc sandwich. A lot of parking is offered near this restaurant since there's so much to do around encenitas. I didn't realize it was fast casual service before coming up and realizing I needed to decide what I wanted while waiting in line. Decent amount of seating since they utilize a big space outside even though inside is pretty small. If you want water, it's coming out of spout from a bucket. Coffee was self serve as well. I got the abc croissant sandwich and it seemed like the already buttery pastry had more butter added to it to get toasty. The corned beef hash didn't look anything like fresh/homemade but resembled canned meat instead. The fruit was actually the best part! Super fresh and delicious. Nothing tasted bad at all. We enjoyed our meal. But this place is way overhyped and I'll be trying other spots out when I'm in this area. read more

Pros: dog friendly. Super friendly and helpful staff. Great location. Inside and outside seating. Big menu. Adult brunch beverages. Cons: order at the counter. Water, silverware, coffee all self-service. Got the lobster Benedict. The lobster was super salty, but when eaten with a bite of egg it was better. The hollandaise sauce was broke. Served with a side of fruit and it was a great selection of fruit . Would go again, just choose something else to eat. read more
Chilaquiles were ok. The sauce wasn't so flavorful and chips got soggy underneath.. definitely not my go to. Benedict was pretty good. Pancakes were great, pretty standard. Steak was flavorful and tender. I would say overall pretty good but would choose somewhere else for higher quality for the same price. read more

My wife and I came here for brunch and really enjoyed the upbeat vibes. Good music, good energy, good vibes. It's an order and sit type of spot and for how big the line was, we had no problem finding a spot to sit. We ordered a bottle of champagne for the mimosas (mango, orange,cranberry) all very good. We both ordered the El Paso Benedict and really enjoyed it. Solid brunch spots with plenty of options to select from the menu. Can't go wrong with this spot! read more
Had a couple drinks and some light bites with some friends, sitting in the sun along the sidewalk outside the restaurant. After being seated by the host, order at the counter, and some almost-too-young-to-not-be-in-school surfer kids will bring out your order relatively fast. Be aware that Honey's is a breakfast/brunch place, so after 2pm, expect this place to be shuttered up. read more

Food didn't only taste amazing, but was visually stimulating as well. I had the New Yorker sandwich and I felt like my mouth hit the lottery with every bite. Service without a doubt is . I do enjoy this spot the couple times Ive been. Standard brunch fair. Mimosas etc. First visit had a straight fwd breakfast. Second time had an atrocious reuben, so definitely avoid that at all costs. Coffee is good. Service is nice. Line can get intimidatingly long but usually moves quickly. Vibe is trendy but cozy and sans an annoying instagram energy. read more

Occasionally after a long rough shift, my coworkers and I will drop by here for breakfast, since we work night shift and get off during breakfast time. Service has always been absolutely delightful everytime we've been here. The staff is so accommodating and welcoming. The decor of the restaurant is trendy and overall, they provide such a welcoming and cozy atmosphere to unwind in. Food has always been on point everytime we've been here. Very tasty and comforting, with big portions that provide a second meal for many of us. We recently decided to try their mimosas and our server presented the juice in such an aesthetically pleasing way too. Overall, I can't recommend this place enough. A small and cozy space with delicious food. You really can't go wrong here! read more
