I walk up to the window and ask, Do you sell coffee? No, just doughnuts. Water? No, just doughnuts. When in Boston, how do you pass up a Boston Crème Doughnut? Well, when they're making Apple Fritters from scratch, everything else will have to wait until my next visit. I pay for my fritter and sit at one of the outdoor tables. The bar next door has a live band playing, it's a good night in Boston as I take a bite of my fritter. First, this is a warm treat. They must of made the fritter and kept it warm in the small oven. The exterior shell is almost crunchy as I get big chucks of fresh apples. This fritter is like a big hug, each bite is warm and comforting. Back Door Donuts, you did a great job the other day! Visit quickly because I believe it ends on March 9th. Having received literally one of the last donuts of the weekend I could not have been more thrilled. I didn't even get a complete donut - they had run out of the Bavarian cream filling. But the donut was light, yeasty, and delicious. The chocolate frosting was so rich! I cannot wait to get there even earlier next weekend! Also, as someone that gets starstruck a little too easily it was really awesome to see Stephanie in person slinging her donuts.
