    Gluten-Free donuts. Decent selection.

One of my favorite ways to start a lazy Sunday. The route 1 location stays open later than the Lincoln Ave store.

Items ordered: GF Lemon Poppyseed, GF Cinnamon Sugar The Review: As I sit here, licking cinnamon sugar from the corner of my mouth, I can't utter one complaint. Catering to different dietary needs, including gluten-free, Kane's is a crowd pleaser. Not only do they have unique flavors, but they excel at what they make. I did not buy, but there is also coffee available. Very simple interior, accessible from the highway, with outdoor seating. It's all about these amazing donuts. Highly recommend.

Fresh doughnuts are a delightful treat any time of day. The aroma alone can brighten a morning or lift an afternoon slump. A clean environment elevates the experience, making it even more enjoyable. A convenient location adds to the appeal, making it easy to stop in for a quick indulgence. It's the perfect combination for a sweet escape.fast service alot of different coffee

My friends and I got a sudden craving for donuts when watching a show together. What better place to come to than Kane's? I'm used to going to their Saugus location which was unfornately closed by 3 pm on a weekday. But luckily we could make it just in time to this location instead. Located directly off of the highway, be prepared to take a relatively quick turn into their private parking lot. The woman at the register was more than happy to serve us but we wanted to consider all options before ordering. She kindly waited and tended to another customer in the meantime. In the end, we shared Strawberry Frosted, Crème Brûlée, and Turtle donuts. They were all fresh and still soft. The strawberry frosted is a staple but their Crème Brûlée is unique and like no others. The turtle was a chocolate glazed donut with crumbled up health bar on top. It was tasted and fun to try. Overall, we had a perfect experience. Prices are pretty high but the donuts themselves are XL so I think its a fair trade off. There plenty of seating for those who would want to sit down and enjoy it here however their hours can pose to be a little difficult. Would come again!

Me & the wonderful Maria Delios Love my Kane's family
    Ethan R.

"Donuts are love ." And I have so much love for my Kane's family. After all these years, I truly am treated like family. Proud to say that I am friends with the staff & of course with one of the owners Maria Delios. As a local business, Kane's is a household name in all of the North Shore area and of course other parts of the greater Boston area. With unique monthly specialty offerings, a huge variety of delicious donuts & an ever so growing breakfast menu, there's no chance of you not feeling the love in all the flavors they have to offer. Simply one of my all time favorite places. Not just for the donuts, but also for the love & the incredible sense of community and friendship. They really do love & appreciate every single customer. So the next time you're up in the North Shore area, do yourself a favor and stop by our beloved Kane's for a bite, a smile & who knows you might even get a chance to meet our beloved Maria

Kanes will always be one of my favorite places for honey dipped donuts. However I love a good apple fritter and this one just didn't do it. The staff was a little rude and we wish they had packaged everything better. As you can see the cinnamon bun ended up with coconut on it from the butter crunch because the staff just threw them in the box. Pretty disappointing.

Impulsively decided to get some donuts and I'm glad a few clicks brought me to Kane's. I wanted to try the OG location, but I decided to get donuts after 10 am and they ran out of some of the flavors I wanted to try. I was happy to learn that Kane's had another location a few mins away with a lot more options. The Rt.1 location is huge and was super bright and clean inside. Bonus it has a drive thru, a ton of outdoor seating and parking. The employees were kind and funny especially when I had a hard time picking out my donuts. I went with seven: Boston cream, jelly, blueberry, pink frosted, double chocolate frosted, turtle and coconut. Favorite is a tie between the blueberry and jelly. I spent about $25 so they are on the pricey side, but worth it imo. I got there at 10:30am on a Thursday and was able to get every donut I wanted to try. I imagine there aren't many options on the weekends! 10/10 recommend giving Kane's a try and splitting these donuts with family or friends. Great place and hope to try more flavors in the future!

Visiting for work and everyone recommended Kanes- they weren't wrong! Luckily I got to try a few of these large and fresh fried biscuits but my favorite was the blueberry and coffee cake! The bakery is clean and well staffed as a local favorite with seating inside and outside. Prices were high for my liking but the donuts were also large that I justified the splurge. We stopped in on a Wednesday and they offered $.99 any size coffee- unsure if that's a usual or a special on our visit but enticed me for an iced coffee. It was okay, nothing to write about. If I'm back in the area I'll be sure to add more to my tasting list.

It's dangerous how convenient and delicious these donuts are! We ordered online in the morning for a specific pick-up time, and when we arrived, they handed us our box of donuts and then quickly made the breakfast sandwich so that it was fresh. And let's talk about the sandwich: we went all out with bacon and sausage on a honey dip donut. And it was the best call! Savory, sweet, and so so satisfying. It's not an everyday breakfast item, but def worth having once. We got a variety of donuts, and stand-outs were the Maine Blueberry, Crème Brulee, Boston Cream (they do the classic right), and the April special Chocolate Bavarian Cream. They all tasted great and were more affordable than other specialty donut ships in the Boston area. Another aspect that I love is the focus on local - even the donut boxes are made locally! They offer special donuts each month, so there's always a reason to return. Do nut miss out on Kane's Donuts!

Menu really should be updated with prices and workers trained on how to issue refunds correctly. Customer service skills are really lacking. Owner didn't do much better when called upon. Donuts lacking in flavor also. Dry and tasteless. Last time I'll take my business here.

First visit since COVID to this charming but cramped and aging shop with over-the-counter service,…read moreabout a dozen different muffins, and a single tiny table by the window. It's almost entirely takeout and on weekend mornings the line is as packed as a subway car during rush hour. The staff is efficient, courteous, and businesslike. I bought a box of muffins at opening and the whole box felt warm-- a great sign. -- Raspberry Chocolate Chip Muffin: I ate this in the shop shortly after opening, while it was still piping hot, with the raspberries nearly a liquid and the chips somewhat melty. Nice soft texture and good contrast of flavors. -- Blueberry Muffin: I broke off and sampled a piece a little later in the morning (okay, 15 minutes later). Still somewhat warm, with a sponginess leaning toward Play-Doh territory (not necessarily a bad thing), but overall good. Neither noticeably sugary nor noticeably buttery. Blueberries were closer to adequate than impressive. Good muffin but with no standout characteristic to hang your hat on. -- Cranberry Muffin: Probably the best of the bunch. The highest crown (though no overhang), with a crusty surface and a good amount of big cranberries on top. Decent understated flavor to the dough, almost biscuit-like. -- Chocolate Chip Muffin: Overloaded with chips on the top surface (I'd hesitate to call it a crown), with none below. Plain dough that's thankfully not overly sugared, but not particularly moist. These muffins aren't cheap. Once you factor in the tax and tip, it's close to $7 each, and we're not talking about particularly large muffins. If anything, they're small, with no overhang and no streusel. Nothing wrong with small (they're dense, so will still fill you up), but for the price it catches your attention, as does a "coffee house" with only one table. The muffins are a well-deserved 4 even without overhang and streusel, but the other aspects bring it to a 3. Best for local pick-up.

I've worked in the food service industry and was not taught to handle this type of experience this way with unsatisfied customers) * The one time I decided not to suck it up + drink whatever I got, I mustered up the courage to ask for it to be remade and the barista continuously invalidated/dismissed my explanations (me: "this tastes like a large cup of milk and I usually taste the matcha / the entire drink was white on the pick up counter and when I mixed it there was not much matcha to see or taste"). * The barista had their own explanation and no intention to accommodate or at least listen to my request ("it's always the same amount of milk and matcha" and "that's because you got oat cold foam that it's white") ...the cold foam is rarely ever more than a centimeter on top * I pleaded with them that it "honestly tastes like only milk" * Finally the barista offered to add more matcha which sadly led me to receiving the usual problem; matcha chunks all on the top + no longer having any more cold foam on the top which is an extra charge so I think I should expect it - therefore I left the cafe with basically a 20oz cup of chunky milk, more money wasted, and disappointment * Additionally, the baristas are always preoccupied and seem like they'd rather be anywhere else - I find myself waiting 5 extra minutes while the baristas have their chit chat time and no one is ever attentive to someone looking for assistance - also, despite ordering on the app to get ahead of the line and wait times, i have to plan for the slow service anyways on my commute to work - to be clear I'm not saying they should be all smiles 24/7 or be robots behind the counter, but hospitality is definitely something that has me wanting to tip every time and I do not see hospitality at this location * There is only one barista who does a great job with the drinks and with customer connection so if they make your drink it's your lucky day (the one star is for this employee and they should know who they are based on the work they put in) * The ambiance is decent but it doesn't feel clean in this location and the furniture is oddly organized
