I have been going here for a while, with no issues....well that changed. I went in for an oil change, while my car was in there, I was told I had an airbag recall and they needed to keep my car. They gave me a loaner for the night, that was nice and easy. When I got picked my car up, the contents of my glove box were all over the floor, and the items that were in the glovebox were SHOVED in...my registration etc. I took pictures, called the service person that helped, told him, and he said "sorry" and asked if he could have his manager call me. I asked that he did. Well, he never called. I decided to go back and try them out again for my next oil change. When I was there I showed the service manager the pictures of what they did with my belongings, and explained the situation. Told him that I was told I would get a call from the manager, which I didn't too. All he said was that he would look into it and see who it was. That's it, no real apology, I felt like I was bugging him, I was still annoyed, but whatever. I get my car from the oil change, and a couple days later, I realized they didn't change the sticker AND didn't reset the oil monitor display thing. I called and asked if they could at least look at my paperwork and give me the mileage for my next change, and the girl on the phone was just giving me suggested numbers without ever asking what year/make my car was etc. No help. I'm just annoyed that on the day I tell them I was upset that they had such disregard for my personal belongings, never asked me to clean it out before they did the work or anything. I recently purchased a car from Honda North through Ed. We found the car online and had to travel over two hours to get there but spoke with Ed at length about the car prior to going up to see it. He was an excellent salesman, had the car ready for us to test drive when we arrived and was very quick with the paperwork. The transaction was quick and painless and Jameel was also very helpful expediting all of the paperwork needed so I could drive the car home the next day. This is disappointing... i came here on sunday at 1:40 and ask for a simple transmission level check. I would have done it myself but 2015 honda accord don't come with a dip stick to check fluid. Nobody likes when their check engine light comes on! Especially when you're about to move the next day! But what an incredible smooth process I had at Honda. And it's in special attention to the automotive tech Vic who helped me out! So attentive and empathetic, even got me into a car rental until my car was fixed! Same kind of car too which as minivan users know, once you go big, it's a struggle to squish back into a small car! So very appreciative! Guess I should have started here to read the reviews I could have saved myself 3 weeks of aggravation,lies and wasted time. My money is as green as everyone else's! I've been buying cars for 40 years, the worst experience ever in my life! Let's see what the public thinks about your employee owned business practices, I'm sure you treat yourselves well as your own customers. On December 21st I looked at a F150 PU, took it for a test drive, did and inspection of the vehicle, came up with 5 issues that needed to be fixed and was agreed upon verbally and I was interested enough to leave a deposit. One of the issues was the passenger side cab corner had rusted from the inside out and I was told and it would be cut and new sheet metal put in, the hood latch would be fixed, the side mirrors would not move out or in, that was agreed to be fixed and the heat shield on the exhaust was rattling as well as bubbled paint over the left rear wheel. These things were put in writing by me and they said they would be fixed and they would call. I went back after Christmas on the 28th after they said the vehicle was done and the only thing I found was that body filler was used to fill the hole, I inspected underneath on the cab corner and the rocker panel and there was excess body filler along the rockers near the corner and of course the magnet test confirmed there was no metal on that corner nor was the bubbled paint fixed on the drivers side. On January 6th I was told it was done, it was night time when I went to look and inspect the vehicle, the left front tire was going flat, less than accommodating they sent me to finance without inspecting the vehicle fully at which point I sat for a half hour after letting the kiosk desk who I was there to see and that person was never told them I was there.I decided to leave. Ok, so Jan. 7th I receive a text from the sales manager apologizing, for the mix up confusion BLAH BLAH BLAH. Wednesday January 8th now,i texted the manager to let him know I was on my way up to inspect the vehicle at 530, The vehicle was in the bay on a lift the only thing done was the cab corner(no magnet test) not sure if it was metal or not and the bubbled paint on the drivers side over the wheel appeared to be fixed, the heatshield rattle had not been addressed, the mirrors were not fixed, the hood latch was still not working. As I was told by the sales manager it will be done tomm meaning thursday January 9th, sent a text asking him to let me know when the truck was done. I received an immediate text back saying the tech was out sick but that tomm. morning meaning friday January 10th it would be done. Come friday january 10th, January 11th not one text not one call. The next text I receive from the sales manager is on January 14th, is this" Are you going to come by and when??"I immediately called him to let him know this was ridiculous and I was not satisfied but said it was done except for.....I was like call me when it's done, if it has to be recon. and buffed it's not done!! At 4:26 I receive a text " put the mirror switch in didn't fix issue tech is on it" I responded thanks for the update, he responds "going to be tomm" meaning today January 15th and I respond "ok just let me know" I get a text "will do". So here I sit at my pc January 15th at 0811 hours writing this review because I never received any notification at all,one way or another the status of the vehicle.How do you run a business in this manner and stay in business and looking at the reviews I should have stopped here first I would have saved time, 3 weeks this has been going on, are you kidding me!! The lies, the deceitfulness, the promises and lack of customer service. How do you conduct business like this! After hemming and hawing about getting me in to look at a different model that I did not use trucar for , I asked for a quote as Boch Honda had already done for me . Oleg told me if I sent him the quote they would absolutely beat it . Well, I sent them the quote and without giving me their quote , Oleg stayed that the Boch quote was fake . So I'm a guy who can fix almost anything, but have trouble diagnosing problems. My wife and my car has been making a rubbing sound on exit ramps for a little while now, so we wanted to get it diagnosed so I could fix it. My wife ended up taking it to Honda North in her free time. They couldn't diagnose the problem, but said the rear sway bar links need to be replaced, and the rear brake pads are "dangerously low"... When my wife told me that I thought it was a little odd because I hadn't done the rear pads that long ago. I assumed they knew what they were talking about so I went to buy new pads without checking them myself first. Only when I get back do I shine a flashlight on the pads to see the damage and find that they still have maybe a third of the pad left! I'm not sure what the hell the mechanic was looking at, because they said we only had a couple millimeters left. Moral of the story, don't blindly trust what these people tell you. I thought official dealership mechanics were more trustworthy, but apparently that's not true. If we had just trusted what they said, we would have shelled out $325 for an unnecessary repair. On the same note, a lot of these jobs aren't that hard, and maybe you'll learn a thing or two about your car in the process of doing your own repairs. You just have to do your research, find a youtube video explaining it, and you'll be just fine. For comparison, rear brake pads for my car cost 20 bucks, and replacing them might take around an hour to do. By the end, you just saved yourself 300 bucks. If you're not mechanically inclined, just try to know enough/have someone around that knows enough to double check what these people are telling you, because otherwise, they'll gladly take your money for their made-up issue. read more

Can't trust the service here. I've been bringing my car here for 4 years now and now I can definitively say these people are a joke. I'll get the recommended C service once a year and every year it's different results conflicting with my last report. First full service after I bought the car there they recommend I replace a belt; I rejected. Next 3 full service they tell me everything looks great! No mention of that same belt. My tires are another story. I have reports where they say my tread is at level 5 and then the next time I take it in apparently my tires grew?! Because now the reports say the tread is at 7. Its clear to me the guys in that shop don't know what they're doing. Reception was also rather rude my last visit, couldn't wait to finish that text before she decided to pay attention to me. On top of that the loaner car they gave me was filthy, clearly was never cleaned because I find the previous users paperwork in the middle compartment and when I got my car back they didn't even do the usual vacuum and wash for my vehicle, they've done it for my 50$ oil change but not on my 500$ service. Blows my mind. I shared my experience with the manager in a feedback survey but manager never got in contact with me to even apologize. Please do yourself a favor and find a separate honda dealer. read more

Worst. service. department. of. any. honda. EVER. They had my car for a week to fix a REALLY simple issue - and were not able to do it. They couldn't find records of the repairs that they did. I brought my car back in to have an issue looked at. it was as if they had no record of me as a customer. They kept saying they had no history on my car. They tried to talk me into a 120K check up "since i had never had one before there", when clearly I had been there before, for the 100K check up. The lack of records they apparently keep is kind of upsetting, and made me question the validity of the diagnosis I was given. I did not pay to have any repairs done after the quote was given. Wow. I went there today with a specific car in mind to look at. After navigating through the masses of double parked cars on their lot, I went into the main entrance... and waited 5 minutes before a secretary came downstairs and paged a sales person... who was three desks away from me. He then had me wait while he sent out an email using one finger at a time to type. I told him the make, model, and year of the car and it took him 5 mins to pull it up. Only for him to tell me that it's at their overflow dealership on Rt 1 because it's "over a certain amount of miles". I didn't know that 50k was so much that it's considered an overflow vehicle not fit for the main lot. So I went to leave, and had the door slammed in my face by another salesman. Seriously? TL;DR oblivious salesmen, website misinformation about car locations, and an obstacle course of a sales lot. Not worth it. read more

I am in the process of attempting to buy a car from them now. So far the sales gal was either misinformed and unaware that the very next day after she told me that Insights were only available in black and white, two silver jobs showed up. So far they have only given me a value discount of less than $200 as their best price. I did the research and have a counter offer of $790 less than their best price. Its going to be an interesting day. I ended up buying a Prius. HN also said that the gas mileage difference between their Insight and the Prius was negligible. Completely false. I generally get 55mpg and often 60mpg or more. read more

I waited 2 weeks for an appointment for my car to be serviced I brought my car in on the day of service. I didn't hear back from them for 6 days with a diagnosis . Spoke to Ariel my service agent who told me i wouldn't have to pay more than a couple days for the courtesy car. I was notified my car was ready on the 11 th day of it being there . I went straight to the dealership after work I went over my service slip immediately complained about paying for half of the 11 days for the courtesy car $220. + I was told they couldn't adjust it that Ariel wasn't there and no management either the man told me if I want I can not pay and come back tomorrow and work it out. I replied ok will I have to pay for another day for the rental he replied of course not, then oh but you can't take the rental I need it for someone else . Yeah ok I can leave my car and what walk home . Ty soo much . Horrible service . There is more and I will be there with friends protesting there poor service and bad customer service. read more

He listened to my friend's situation and how he had been outright lied to by all of the other dealers, he invited us in to his desk. He offered us both drinks and sat there for a good 15 minutes, before getting his Manager involved. He then called the Manager over, explained my friends ordeal, gave him the numbers my friend had in writing already from the last dealer and just about 5 minutes later, had a lower price in writing than the previous dealer and had the EXACT vehicle my friend had been searching for, pulled up in front and ready to take for a test drive. THAT was customer service and how it's supposed to be done. There was no pressure or "switch and bait" tactics like everywhere else we had been and we were as I stated above, treated like Kings! No pressure to add on additional warranties (however they were offered and fully explained) and before we knew it, my friends Honda was sent out back to be prepped for delivery that night. We had to get back to work, so we could not wait. That gave the dealer ample time to properly prep the vehicle for a proper delivery the next morning. When my friend and I arrived to take delivery the next day, the vehicle was gleaming, both inside and out, along with a full tank of gas and the 2 sets of keys ready to go. It was an outstanding experience and in my opinion, be hard to top. But I would go there for myself or recommend this dealer to any family or friend member without hesitation. EDIT of 2013 - deceptive business practices My 08 Civic has 70K miles on it, and one day the ignition is sputtery so I get it towed in for a fix. They hold it a day, fix it, but it breaks down the next day with similar symptoms. I get it towed in again. THEY HOLD THE CAR FOR 5 WEEKS As you can expect, this is an inconvenience. The guy handling my car, Joe G., tells me "it'll be ready tomorrow evening" half the time I talk to him - either that "We're waiting on the adjuster from Honda to come out." I explain to him the impact this has on my life, and he tells me Hondanorth will give me a courtesy loaner through Enterprise. COURTESY MEANS FREE, RIGHT? Nope. I'm promised a free rental car after the first week that my car's in the shop. They get me one, a nice one, and Enterprise encourages me to put insurance on it - the guy I talked to, Mike of Enterprise, assured me as well that Hondanorth would be paying for this. Fast forward 4 weeks, when I'm told my car is finally repaired (and furthermore, that it's been sitting there for 5 days, and nobody could call me to tell me that.) ENTERPRISE STICKS ME WITH A $1500 bill For the rental car they said would be free. They even tried to run the ENTIRE AMOUNT on my card, which my card thankfully rejected. This is seriously shady in terms of business practices. I was consistently lied to until Joe G.'s manager eventually cleaned up the mess, save for that enormous bill that was foisted upon me. read more

SALE OF NEW CAR REVIEW. Bought a CRV here yesterday. I left my checkbook at home on purpose, so I wouldn't impulse buy. I had already visited other dealerships, and given what I experienced at the initial places I visited, Honda North really made a new car purchase super easy. Peter Andersen was my sales guy and and he was beyond knowledgable about the CRV. Peter was also very patient with me but didn't dilly-dally. (I hate when the sales man disappears to find out info and i feel like I am left hanging). FINANCE DEPT. So despite leaving checkbook at home, I went home with a new car. James was the finance guy I worked with he was also no pressure and responded clearly and knowledgeably to all my questions. Many reviewers have described this deanship as fair and square.I would agree, I found the transaction transparent, and I knew exactly what I was signing for. SERVICE. I am back at the dealership today, getting my sticker, a remote starter, and all that jazz. The service department does have a indoor/covered valet drop off, (its pouring out right now so that pleased me.) Waiting area is nice, wifi, cafe, high top tables if you need to get some work done, or comfy leather chairs facing a TV and a fireplace. As for the actually service I won't be able to give a realistic review until I have been here a few times. read more

On 10-13-2020 I brought my Honda Accord in for service because of a recurring noise under the hood. They informed me when I was dropping off the car that they charge $65 for service estimates that are applied towards any work performed. The diagnosis I receive indicated that the noise as likely due to low oil (even though the oil light never came on) and recommended a $60 oil change. They also separately stated that the drive belt was worn and needed replacing. I declined the oil change because I would top off the oil myself for under $8 and had them perform the belt change for $200. The bill included a $50 dollar charge (on top of the $200) for the "noise" estimate (reduced from $65). I disputed the "noise" estimate charge with the service manager who responded by saying, essentially, that the drive belt diagnosis was not part of the noise estimate so the charge for the estimate was valid. However I feel that the low oil diagnosis would have been discovered under the free multi-point inspection that they offer, same as the drive belt issue was discovered, and therefore their charge for the "noise" estimate was not fair or valid, especially considering that they performed the $200 drive belt replacement, which is triple the price of an oil change. The service manager refused to remove the change, exposing, in my opinion, a significant level of greed. I will not return there for service anytime in the future. Tom S. read more

SEVICE REVIEW ONLY: I went in to get the service lights checked out. came out with a big dent in my wallet but the worker who helped me was very friendly and i waited the estimated 1 hour they gave me. the worker at the check out desk was very friendly and bright to all the customers. they did a quick wash to my car, which is appreciated. they have a small lounge with sofas and TV. they have several high tables around the general waiting area as well. the only downside is they don't have any bread/pastries like most other dealerships i've been to. they have a small cafe but i've been spoiled by other places. they do offer one free coffee, soda, or water per visit. overall, i would recommend this place. read more

After researching a ton of cars, I finally ended up with the new 2016 Honda Civic. Initially, I looked at the 2016 Toyota Corolla as well as the Civic, but after test driving both cars, the Civic blew the Corolla away in nearly every way. After looking around a little bit, I was referred to Stephen Taliaferro at Honda North of Danvers. Stephen was very helpful in getting me a price I could work with. He went out of his way on his day off to help me get the paperwork all settled, including a 200 mile round trip journey to my home state. He didn't pressure me at all, and I was very comfortable throughout the whole process. He's also a safe driver (as I found out when he had to drive the car the first 100 miles before we got the car registered). Big plus in my book. I HIGHLY recommend working with Stephen Taliaferro! The Honda LaneWatch camera was what drew me to the Civic in the first place, but there's so much more technology and features in the Civic. Some features exclusive to the Civic at comparable price points are: Apple CarPlay (and Android Auto for the Android folks out there). Automatic brake hold, Smart entry, Push-button start. Expanded-view driver's mirror Apple CarPlay eliminates the need for a extra costly integrated GPS system, or a separate GPS like Garmin or Magellan, in addition to a familiar interface that makes using the infotainment system easy. The automatic brake hold is way more useful than I thought it would be. At a toll booth, I had to reach into the back seat to get money, and instead of putting the car into park, I just pressed the brake hold button and the car automatically kept the brake on until I pressed the accelerator pedal. Smart entry automatically unlocks the car when you go to open the door with your key in the pocket. This is super convenient! Push-button start is very cool and all cars should have it. I can't believe the Corolla doesn't at the same price point. The expanded-view driver's mirror essentially eliminates the blind spot on the driver's side if the mirrors are set correctly. As soon as the vehicle on your left exits your mirror, you see it instantly out of the corner of your eye. The LaneWatch camera takes care of the right side, as you can activate it with or without the right signal. The windows are also huge and allow you to see absolutely everything in front of you. In comparison, the Corolla had a weaker engine, less visibility, no CarPlay, no push-button start, no fancy mirrors, no smart entry system, all at around the same price. This car is amazing and is everything I could ever ask for in a car at this price point. read more

This review is about the sales department at Honda North. The past month or so, I had been looking to purchase a mid-sized SUV. Honda North was my last stop, and actually the only Honda dealer I worked with. I had visited four other dealers for other companies as well. I went in on a busy Saturday and happened to catch a salesman, Gus, right after he finished with a call. And I am very glad our timing worked out that way, because Gus turned out to be the best car salesman I've ever worked with. He was extremely relaxed, low-pressure, and easy to talk to. He was also incredibly straight forward. We went out for a test drive of the Honda Pilot, and after we were done he even let us drive the Honda CRV for comparison. I actually was the one who asked him if we could put a deposit down on the car - the opposite experience of the other dealers we worked with. I went in another time later that week with some concerns over the price, which he allayed by reducing the cost further. The day of the purchase went just as smoothly. He didn't try any of the multitude of tricks I was prepared for. Even in the finance office, we were offered a warranty and that was it! The only part of the deal I was disappointed in was the trade-in value for our Civic. I trusted Gus's explanation of the reasons for it, and I know I was always free to walk away and sell it on my own, so if anything I blame myself for taking the easy way out. In any case, I would highly recommend Gus at Honda North if you're looking to purchase a car and don't want the runaround you're likely to find at other dealers. read more

My cousin went for an oil change and left extremely upset. Several men in the service department were rude and unprofessional. They charged her for a tire rotation service that she never authorized or requested when she went in for an OIL CHANGE ONLY. You should not be legally allowed to charge someone for a service that ws not requested, because you want to increase the persons bill for service! Pretty sure this practice should be illegal. People need to check their bills here, and Honda North should stop stealing money from unsuspecting customers, and have to refund or credit money for services they optionally just threw on! I bet if I was there it would not have happened! Shame on a business like this for taking advantage of women and making her pay for services that should not have been done in the first place! This is as fair and square a car dealership as you'll find anywhere. Bought a Honda Pilot here from John D. a few months back. I was very straightforward with him, and he was very straightforward with me. That's all I ask for. I've been back with it for some minor service things and they've all been handled ably. I appreciate that they have an express service setup for things like oil changes, etc. that don't require an appointment. This has to be the single worst service experience I've had with Honda. We go to the service station and met a lady at the registration desk who would not even so much as get a service specialist to speak to me. She asked me for my registration?!?! Which I have never been asked for before for service. She gave no explanation as to my service options and demanded to know exactly what I needed done. This is strange because customers are not expected to be car service experts, else we really would not need Honda service specialists, would we? Typically when I have taken my car for service, a service specialist will look at what sort of service the car indicates. And based on mileage, they suggest any other aspects that need to be looked into. The unprecedented incompetence and rudeness of the staff made me uncomfortable enough that I decided against getting my service done at Honda North. read more

I purchased a new car with Honda North. The car BUYING experience was fantastic. Everything went smoothly. Picked out the car on Saturday, had it ready to roll Monday. Again, the BUYING experience was great! I Have called MANY times over the course of the last 10 months. Honda finance never sent the lien information to my insurance company. More phone calls, voice mail messages left...Never a call back....NOTHING I sent an email via their web site...I opted out of their car service package because I didn't know if I would always be here to get it done. I'm glad I opted out!! If they can't return ( multiple voice mails and emails) I certainly don't want to be locked. My insurance still doesn't have the information they need...10 MONTHS later. Buying: excellent experience. Friendly, helpful, not pushy, fair prices. Service: two stars. This is the second time I have made an appointment online, received confirmation, and had to go home with nothing. Today I got up early after having scheduled an inspection before a dentist appointment only to arrive and find out 'you can't make an appointment for an inspection, the wait is an hour to an hour and a half' - awesome. Maybe they should take the option to schedule a state inspection off of the online scheduling service??? Or at least QC the online appointments. Hour to an hour and a half? Go to a gas station and save yourself the time. Also - DONT LET THEM WASH YOUR CAR! I heard someone request that the last time I went in and thought 'why wouldn't you want a free wash?' Answer: The wash I received left streaks all over my car - especially the windshield which didn't go away with rain. Just residue everywhere. read more

Dealership response is window dressing (i.e. no one reached out, why should they, they already have our $$). Look elsewhere if you want fairness and honesty when in the market for a vehicle. read more
