I have to admit I tried going to cheap route at first with a family recommended mechanic who does work for cheap. I was getting a Motor swap done. Aka a BIG JOB done. The cheap route ended up being HELL ON EARTH for me because it took 3 months for the job to be completed, only for the wrong motor to be installed twice. After three months of the job not getting done correctly, they tried giving me the car back saying it was fine and sent me ob my way to my possible death. I knew it wasn't fine. I bought it to Mechanics Direct so the could do a full inspection to see where the amateurs messed up. Come to find out they installed the wrong motor and the tire rod was about to fall off. The amateur mechanics refused to give a refund until I threatened them with a lawsuit. I knew about mechanics direct because I lived in the area and have always been hesitant because I knew they were expensive. I was at a point with my car though where I did not care about the cost I just wanted my car back after being away from it for multiple months. I could not be happier with the result. Mechanics Direct's professionalism have made me a life long costumer. Not only did my car get the motor swap done in less than a week, they paid for me to use a rental for the week. They discovered that the noise the other mechanic told me to not worry about was a tire rod that was loose too! My wheel could have fallen off if I didn't go to these guys. I went insane with my last mechanic and mechanics direct brought me peace of mind. You can't put a price tag on peace of mind. My car drives better than ever before. I am a satisfied customer knowing my family and I are safe in the road. Yes the cost is more expensive, but you get what you pay for, and that's PROFESSIONAL SERVICE and PEACE OF MIND. Not all that impressed. Maybe you'll do better at this shop with a racecar. If you've got an old beater, go somewhere else. I came to the shop for alignment, an exhaust quote, and maybe smoothing the front rotors. Came out with half an alignment, an exhaust quote, new brake fluid, and other brake work to save up for. The Good: Very friendly, approachable sales and mechanical staff. Lots of show cars and happy customers on display. Reasonable with cost of work and parts. Called me back like they said they would. Clean shop, looks comforting. They did find a brake fluid leak I missed, and didn't give me a hard time about doing that work myself. The Meh: I paid for 4w alignment only to find they just adjusted the front/rear toe. No other shop had trouble with front camber, but this one said it "can't be adjusted on this car". No call to say that, and evasive about whether they tried and lost to rust -- or if they just didn't know it was adjustable. But that's what I paid them for... I guess they also inspected my air filter, because I found it wasn't closed all the way. A sudden extra roaring sound when I left should have been hard to miss. Verdict: My car is 18 years old, and though it looks its age I love it. But I hoped for more than I got from this shop. read more

I have been going to Mechanics Direct for 16 years and have always had a great experience! I currently own a 2010 Honda Accord and before that I owned a 1999 Toyota Camry and they have helped me keep them running in tip top condition. In addition, when needed they give me a list of priorities, so that I know if something is a safety issue that should be addressed right away or if something can wait. Compared to the dealership, I have saved a lot of money over the years and I feel that they are more thorough and treat my car like it was their own. We recently took our 2012 CRV to Mechanic's Direct for the first time and had a great experience! Our CRV was having a heat issue and after taking it to the local dealership with unsatisfactory results, we found MD through a Google Search. MD conducted the tests needed to determine that this was, unfortunately, a heater core issue and the part would need to be replaced. The gentlemen at the front desk (Matt? I'm the worst with names.), made sure to inform me at each step what we can do next and the likeliness of it being a worst case scenario situation. To get to the HC involves removing almost every piece of the interior from the front seats forward (minus the seats themselves) and MD was able to to get the whole car apart, replace the part, and back together in a day! This was an extremely labor intensive job and putting everything back together took skill to ensure everything would work again. MD took the time to properly do the work and made sure that we would be satisfied with the final fix. Thank you! read more

After a number of years of having my Lexus LX470 maintained by the dealer I searched for a less expensive alternative. I interviewed a number of shops that were Lexus qualified and based on the interviews I decided that the Mechanics Direct would be my best choice. Their mechanic training certificates indicated proper training, the front office staff seemed knowledgeable and able to relate to not-so-mechanically-inclined customers. The company appeared to be well organized and efficiently run and should be able to provide support well into the future. Mitchell (owner) was friendly and seemed down to earth. I asked if he could help me drive my car to 200,000 miles and he thought he could. I felt that this was the best shop I had evaluated and decided to become a customer. The first issue needing attention was to repair the air conditioning system. An inspection revealed that some of the coolant lines had corroded and needed replacement. Mitchell outlined several repair options estimating the cost of each. The highest was replacing all lines with the factory assembly. A lower cost solution would be to replace individual failed lines with off-the-shelf parts. I chose this option and the A/C is still well running today. During the past years Mechanics Direct has performed many repairs and has always consulted with me outlining options which would help lower costs while still providing safe sound repairs. To date the car has travelled a total of 221400 miles, pretty doggone good for a 2001 auto. Mechanics Direct will also provide a loaner vehicle if my vehicle needs to be held for repairs. I feel that their customer service is top-notch, their mechanics are knowledgeable and do good work, and since 2010 Mechanics Direct has provided me with great service at reasonable cost. read more

I lost reverse in my standard car. They not only replaced bushing on reverse but on all my gears. Shifting on my car had become sloppy, but never realized. Getting it back shifting was nice and tight, better than ever. It is nice and tight. I was so thrilled and happy. And cost was lower than expected. They called about rear end, I knew there was a problem and getting worse. It continued to bounce after going over bumps... They said and can't recall the parts that were completely gone, but no surprise there. So they fixed all the problems in rear end. I got into my car, wow what a difference. Like driving new car. I even called to tell them how thrilled I was. It's a 2003 PT Cruiser. I Have Put money Into car before, but never drove away being so beyond happy with the great change in it.
