Really good, fresh dumplings. My order came up quickly, the service was friendly and parking is easy. Prices are reasonable and portions generous.

I have been meaning to swing by here for quite some time. Yesterday was the day. I was greeted quickly and handed an order sheet and a Sharpie. I selected the pork shrimp mushroom steamed dumplings, pork soup dumplings and BBQ pork buns (whoa, that's a lot of pork!). Each table had an assortment of condiments, including soy sauce, vinegar, red chili paste and Sriracha. Just before my food arrived, a small plate, Asian soup spoon, chopsticks and a small glass of ice water (in a real glass) were delivered to my table. I really appreciate the lack of single-use materials! Next came the two steaming hot baskets of dumplings, quickly followed by the BBQ buns (which unfortunately weren't quite as hot). I dove into the soup dumplings because they're the best, especially steaming hot. There was a generous portion of tasty pork but sadly, not so much soup for a soup dumpling. Still delicious and I ate every last one of them (partly because they're not much good as leftovers). The pork shrimp mushroom steamed dumplings were just OK. I brought most of those home to try again later. Lastly came the BBQ buns. This is one of my all time favorite types of dim sum. The buns themselves were nice and fluffy, with plentiful filling. I just wished they'd had more sauce and were a little warmer. I brought home 2 of the 3 and will give them another chance today for lunch. I was the only customer in the bright and airy dining room the entire time. It was cool to see the lady hand making the dumplings right there at the counter the whole time, too.

Really delicious dumplings. We ordered takeout and the food was ready within 20 minutes for pickup. Staff was friendly and pickup process was quick. The interior isn't anything too fancy but it's clear the food is made with love. From flavorful pan fried pork and cabbage to savory and rich beef and carrot the dumplings are extremely tasty. Highly recommend for takeout or a quick no-frills meal out.

Great hole in the wall :) Nothing super fancy. Everything tastes fresh and the service is good. Not incredibly pricey for the quality and what you get.

Legit dumpling restaurant in Folsom! The restaurant is tucked near Mobil gas station at the busy intersection of Folsom-Auburn Rd. & Folsom Lake Crossing. The older lady made all the dumpling by hand and the guy cooked our order fresh. - pork chives prawn boiled dumpling: my favorite dumplings among other items. The dumpling was hefty with lots of filling. The meat was well seasoned (not too salty). The skin was chewy and soft. - pork celery boiled dumpling: they had lots of filling inside the dumpling. The pork was meaty and delicious. - pork sauerkraut steam dumpling: it was ok because I couldn't really taste the sauerkraut. - pork shrimp mushroom steam dumpling: the filling was delicious! It had umami flavor and the meat was well seasoned. - XLB: good. The soup inside XLB was delicious and the meat was well seasoned. The skin was a bit thicker to accommodate the soup and filling inside but it was soft and chewy. - fried spring roll: it was okay. The skin was crispy. - bbq pork bun: good. The bun was soft and the filling was tasty. My kiddo's favorite - pita burger: it was ok but not our favorite. The pita bread was soft and the burger was ok.

Tucked into the shops near Chevron sits this quiet Dumpling House. There's a kiosk to order from but the staff suggested to just use the form and check off what you want. We ordered to go and chilled out at a table while they prepared our order. Took about 10 minutes and we e were on our way home. Food was still hot when we opened it and we had all the sauces, napkins and chopsticks needed to gorge. BBQ Pork - 8 Slightly sweet but flavorful. Some fat in the bun. Pork and Cabbage Boiled Dumpling - 9 Super tasty! Even better with soy sauce and malt vinegar dip! Braised Pork Pita Burger - 8 Toasted pita and pork rich in flavor but was a bit salty. We added some lettuce at home to cut the salt. Cabbage might make it amazing. Pork Shrimp and Mushroom Steamed Dumpling - 7 A tad n the fishy tasting side but still good Pork Soup Dumpling (XiaLongBao) 8 - A bit too much dough but the pork is tasty. Not much soup inside. Make sure to use the dipping sauce. Taro Bun - 6 Not a lot of flavor but there is taro up in there. Black Milk Tea 25% sweet - 8 very tea forward and not much sweetness which is a welcome sight as it's so sweet everywhere They were out of black boba though :( There was an odor to the place probably from the steamed food in the dining area that was unappetizing. We'd definitely come back but would get the food to go.

    Everything was delicious!

A nice small play to have yummy steamed and boiled dumplings. The soup dumplings were so good as well. Definitely returning.

The dumplings here are amazingly fresh and handmade. Shrimp dumplings were interesting, they had large chunks of shrimp in them which was unexpected but nice. But the steamed pork bao and cucumber salad are must-have's. Service is very fast, though we usually order to-go just because the place is small, and the ambience is more like you're in a kitchen than a restaurant, as you can hear and smell the steamers and fryers as everything is cooking. Great spot to get some comfort food to-go for a reasonable price (around $20 per person).

It is as if my prayers for handmade dumplings in Folsom were heard by the food gods when this place appeared on the scene. We came on a rainy Saturday morning around opening time; no wait except the time it takes to make delicious dumplings (10 minutes). I grew up in Taiwan so I'm quite used to top tier of this type of food. Both my husband and I came away with happy bellies! We hope they get the popularity they deserve and we will be amongst their supporters!

I realized a lot of the reviews for this location was for the business that was here prior to the Hometown Dumpling. So if u are reading reviews, keep that in mind. It looks like a family run business, they were all very friendly. The dumplings are made from scratch and were so very good! Their spring rolls were fresh too, we didn't ask if they hand made those as well, but they were better than any other deep fried spring roll we have tried. We will definitely be back to try other items in the menu. It's great that it's close to home as well.

SoCal and the Bay Area are where it's at for Asian food... and Vancouver!! Okay, sorry, I'm rambling now. Anyways, I'm glad I ventured a little farther out to Folsom to grab some delicious food. Their orange chicken is super flavorful, and I loved that they used real oranges. The Kung Pao chicken is amazing--they include a variety of veggies and squash, which I loved. The beef chow mein was on point as well. The only reason for the 4 stars is that the chow mein was a little too soft (though the flavor was there), and the price felt a bit steep for the portion size. Three orders for $60--eeep! I miss the good ol' days when a whole plate was filled to the rim and overflowing from the to-go box for $12-$15, but it is what it is. Anyways, if you've got the dough, I'd spend it here. The chicken katsu is still one of the best I've had--light, crispy, and perfectly crunchy on the outside, with juicy, tender chicken inside. Every visit has been consistently delicious, and the staff are always friendly and welcoming. I also tried the spicy pork again. It's a bit different from the Korean spicy pork I'm used to. Instead of the pork being marinated so the flavor is deeply infused, it seems to be grilled first and then coated with the sauce. While it's not the traditional style I expected, it's still flavorful and worth trying if you're open to a different take on the dish. In addition the chicken gangjeong dish that requires it to be "deep fried chicken" needs additional time to get crunchy like you would expect. I think the sauce may have made the crunch disappear. The consistency in both the food and the service is what keeps bringing me back. I'm looking forward to working my way through the rest of the menu.
