Service here was excellent. For the price point with their AYCE options, I could find much better options though with more variety. Their AYCE is for lunch time only, or you can still order a la carte. They have a few rolls, hand rolls, nigiri, appetizers and dessert. It's not the best sushi spot that I have been to but still glad I was able to try them out.
We were hiking in the area so we stopped by here for the lunch AYCE. It's $30/pp, which for the quality of the fish and the rolls it's pretty good for the price so you don't have to break the bank. We like that their rolls came as four pieces so we were able to try more options. The rolls were pretty tasty, just wish they had less sauce over them. Otherwise, we were seated quickly, and the service was good. If we were in the area again, we would come back!
One of the better options in the area, many options on menu, and creative rolls. Nice portions, and prompt service. Located in the ranch 99 parking lot. It's easy to find and has plenty of parking. Go stop for sake and quick bites or dinner.
I went to Hisui Sushi for lunch and had a patchy experience. The price was affordable and customer service was great. We got seated fast and the waitress was attentive and answered our questions. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant offers plenty of seating space in the main dining room as well as seating at the bar.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We got three rolls and some nigiri. First the nigiri, the fish did not taste fresh at all. We had the halibut/albacore. The rice did not taste as fresh as I had hoped it to be, which kind of affected the overall quality of the nigiri. The rice tasted stale. On this visit we also had three rolls. While some parts of the rolls were fine, others simply were not that tasty and had the stale rice. It was slightly disappointing given the high standards for good sushi and overall rating for this restaurant. It's a decent spot for a fast lunch with great service, but the sushi itself has work to do.
Service was friendly and fast. My kids ordered the Philadelphia roll. It was made fresh and the rice to fish ratio was perfect. I had the sesame chicken bowl. The chicken bits were flavorful and crispy. The chirashi don had all kinds of sashimi. This is a Folsom staple.
Those four letters A Y C and E, one after another catches my attention every time. When I found out that Hisui Sushi offers AYCE lunch buffet of sushi, my interest was peaked. I gave it a go. But alas, I have to say it was ok. However, it is worth a visit for folks not in a time crunch and wanting an AYCE experience with the purpose of filling up. I dropped in a weekend and the waitress was working various tables, it was difficult for her to provide optimal customer service for all her tables. She had a terrific up beat attitude. But do you the large number of customers, I did not see her for long stretches of time making it difficult to order buffet items and timely get the bill. Plus there is a wait time from sushi chefs to churn out the sushi. For the lunch buffet, you order items off a pre-set menu. You are limited to five items at a time. The sushi rolls are half size. The quality and flavors of the sushi were not bad but not particularly outstanding. Chicken skewers: One serving is two skewers of what tasted like thigh meat. The flavors were safe, on the mild side. The teriyaki sauce drizzled on top added flavor. Crispy salmon skin hand roll: Hello... this was fantastic! Absolutely delish. The strips of salmon skin were fried to a light crispness with a salty savory taste. Spicy tuna hand roll: The tuna had a grounded up consistency with a strong smelling marinade. I took only a couple of bites and could not get over the texture and smell. Rainbow roll: It had thin slices of sashimi. So thin, that I could not taste the flavors of the various fish. I also ordered another roll but it also had very thin slices of sashimi and not memorable. I wanted to order more food but I did not see my waitress and being there for nearly a hour with the restaurant filling up with more customers, I called it. I needed to get going and flagged down the two other servers to help get my bill.
Due to its location in a not so diverse city, it's not your typical sushi restaurant. The nigiri is pre sliced by the staff instead of keeping them in saku blocks and slicing to order. However, you'll find traditional Japanese sushi cuisine being served. Another thing is the portion sizes are HUGE. See the picture for the gigantic crispy rice tuna appetizer. I also really appreciate them having kizami wasabi (fresh wasabi) available, as it's so much better than the fake wasabi paste that's made of horseradish.
Hisui always has fresh, delicious sushi and the service is excellent. It's really nice to have a sushi place so close by that consistently delivers.
Popped in this afternoon for a quick bite and was surprised to see they offer AYCE for lunch! We chose the regular menu but that's always an option for another time. The host was friendly and our server was nice as well. The restaurant was pretty much packed on a Saturday afternoon but we were served quickly and everything arrived with a short wait. We were in and out in about 40 minutes. We ordered the Firecracker to start and that was amazing!! I subbed out the spicy tuna for crab mix and that was perfect. Everything else okay. I generally love nigiri, but the nigiri here is too rice heavy. The scallops were slightly fishy and wasn't the most fresh compared to other times I have tried hotate. The albacore was fine. I like how they offer a little bit of pickled wasabi on the side but, we wouldn't order their nigiri if we go back. The rolls were fine. The crab mix is a little heavy on the mayonnaise and the Snow White roll was very saucy too. They are a little too rice heavy for me as well. Overall, if we're on this side of town, it's a convenient stop but definitely doesn't take the cake.
Wow! I was impressed to find this great of a sushi place in Folsom. We came for a birthday and was not disappointed. We arrived in the afternoon right before their buffet was able to end. We were hoping to opt in their sushi buffet, but didn't want to rush ourselves so we ordered a few rolls to share. We wanted a sale to go along with our meal and our server recommended one that we all fell in love with. I wish I remembered the rolls, but to be honest everything we tried was delicious. The service was on point, and our server made sure she answered all our questions. We definitely will be back.
Celebrated birthday girl here and had a blast. This spot is slightly trendy but not overly fancy -- more or less putting out a modern yet casual ambiance. We ordered a bit of everything but mostly sashimi as we are all fans. The fish was fresh and easy to distinguish between each tasting. We also ordered a bento box to share which was perfect to square up dinner. The soft shell crab for our appetizer was meh to me. Since we were there celebrating a birthday, our server brought out a complimentary dessert for the birthday girl at the end of dinner -- she was super happy. Although, I wish they would've had some candles on hand because we all wanted to sing happy birthday to her. Nonetheless, the comp was a sweet gesture from the house. Wouldn't mind returning if ever in the area again.

We visited our friends here in Folsom. And one of our friends treated us at Hisui Sushi. I read that it is a popular spot known for its impressive food presentation. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The staff are friendly, the restaurant is clean, I used their restroom and it's clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I always do this coz this is really important to me. If they treat the restroom really good that says about the food they serve as well. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Their decor is simply nice and beautiful as well.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The menu offers a variety of delicious options, and not too pricey. However, I just learned about their AYCE sushi when I read the reviews the next day. Wish we had known before we ordered so that we can try it. We appreciate the experience, attentive service, and their high-quality food. They even put orchid flower on a couple of the plates we ordered as a decor. Some staff recommended for us trying the Chirashi Don bowl or innovative sushi rolls but we declined. Parking is free and ample. Next to Ranch 99 so you can go after you eat if you need to go groceries. Highly recommended. read more
Phoned in a takeout order. There was a bit of confusion over name-description of items I was ordering, but in the end, my order came out exactly as I wanted. The order was ready in about 15 minutes, as estimated. I ordered the Spicy Ramen, but skipped the egg and pork (and requested extra veggies in their place). They did seem to give extra veggies, and the bowl was loaded with spinach and mushroom slices, along with several fish cakes and peppers. The Ramen noodles were cooked well, and I enjoyed eating everything, except the broth itself (not much flavor, and salty, to my taste). My husband looked at photos here on Yelp, and found one labeled "Stir fried veggie udon". That isn't on the online menu, and when I tried to order it, I was told that it was Veggie Udon (which is usually cooked in broth) "stir-fried in Teriyaki sauce" (not on the menu). And indeed it was. He loved it. The Teriyaki sauce was not overly sweet (like many other places). The stir-fry was well done (not oily), with a very good selection of veggies, and some tofu. The veggies and noodles were cooked to perfection. It was a big hit for him. Prices were quite reasonable, and the few people I interacted with were very pleasant. Found shells inside my sushi roll the manager, and coworker made the rolls. No refund no apology from the manager will not be returning. Was sick with bad intestinal cramps one hour after eating the roll. Photo is all the shells that I found inside the roll. read more
9/15/22 And it's official, I have a teenager living in my house today! Oh boy I am feeling super old today! How do I fight back these feelings? Wooosaaaaa If y'all have been following me for awhile, I think I ate a bit too much sushi when I was pregnant with my oldest as his go to dinner of choice these last few years has been Japanese and Sushi! Whereas my little human's preferred choices are usually in between Italian and Mexican (Hummmm) while the hubs is all Asian food! Wonder what the Milkman's favorite cuisine is? I have no clue. If y'all know - let me know! LOL We came to Hisui Sushi by request for my now teenager's birthday dinner request! It wasn't too busy at 6:00 on a Thursday night. We were seated right away! Provided menus and water shortly after. We started off with the spicy garlic edamame and it was tasty! Next up was the Jalapeño Hamachi Tapa eats which was a table favorite! We could have eaten a couple of these. The sushi rolls started to roll out! No pun intended. Get it? Bwahahahha ok I'll stop We ordered the Giants Roll, Prisoners Roll and the Hole in One special. They were all yummy choices. Our dearest birthday celebrant wasn't full sampling everything that he ended up ordering a chicken udon as well! My youngest love Hamachi Kama and we were told to not be surprised that it might be the last dish to arrive as it takes the longest to cook. Sure enough it was the last dish to arrive but my youngest went hands in and tore it up! All in all, it was a great bday dinner! We weren't offered any desserts and dinner without any drinks for 4 at $150 these days are trending to be the new norm. It's a solid place for dinner IMO. Rolls are creeping up in price so go now before they get to $20+ a roll with how inflation is going lol This location has ample parking and located at the corner of the plaza next to Ranch 99 supermarket and conveniently across from Starbucks drive thru! First time here. I went with a friend who recommended this place. We both order Bento for lunch. Was going to order the ayce $30 but realized I don't think l can eat that much. I order the Hamchi sashimi with Shrimp Tempura. My friend ordered the Salmon with mixed Tempura. Food was delicious, I'm sure we will be back. Service was good too. read more

Ooo wee Hisui!! Umami Food: Fresh, light, seasoned well and umami sushi -zig zag roll, giants roll and big bang roll. - the rolls seemed big but all -in- all the rice to fish ration was well made. I would prefer less rice on the roll - one of my rolls wasn't tightly rolled and therefore fell apart but the flavor was good. Service: Saturday @5:15p no wait and not a lot of people. Kind, pleasant and attentive. Ambiance: music playing, booths and tables plus a sushi bar. * plenty of parking *will definitely eat here again read more
I have no idea why the rating for this place is so high. The service was lacking and the only people who seemed friendly were the Hispanic sushi chefs. Looks can be deceiving. The quality of the food was not good so I'm wondering if I just came on a bad day. The fish was softer and warmer than it should've been. The staff was just standing around in pockets having conversations. This place is a hard pass. read more

AYCE! Yum! Tried this place out for the first time with my family today. Parking is pretty easy to you go around the corner away from Ranch 99. We were greeted and seated right when we entered. They have hand sanitizer at all the tables and require masks upon entry and when up and about from your seat. Our waiter, Aiden was fantastic as well as the gentleman who refilled our water throughout our time there. They were friendly and attentive and Aiden could tell when we were ready to order more. We all decided to do all you can eat, because why not? There was a good amount of options for sushi rolls, nigiri, hand rolls, and sides/desserts. Among the 4 of us, we tried pretty much everything on the menu plus returned to some of our favorites. The sushi sushi and nigiri were great as it tasted fresh as was not just full of rice to fill us up. The sides were refreshing (seaweed salad, squid salad, pickled cucumbers, edamame, etc) and the fried bananas with chocolate were to die for (I had 3 plates to myself!). OK we need to talk. I wanted an AYCE sushi option, closer to home, so I did some research. I've been to Raku in Rocklin and Fuji in Elk Grove. Both around 25 bucks. The reviews for Hisui were pretty good and the Online right ups said 25 bucks. FIRST IMPRESSION : The entire chef staff was other than Japanese. In fact, I asked and was the only one that spoke Japanese (4 yrs stationed there). MENUE: $30 (NOT 25 AS ADVERTISED) See photo for current AYCE STAFF: very attentive & polite A+ FISH: The salmon was quite good. The Hamachi was a little soft. ROLLS: About average for an AYCE sushi place APPETIZERS: Edamame serving was very small. Miso soup was very good. Squid salad was spot on. FIRECRACKER (Deep fried stuffed jalapeño) was VERY GOOD OVERALL: Compared to Raku and Fuji, this place takes 3rd place. $30 is to much. read more

A great place for AYCE lunch (or any meal in general)! Located in a large business center, around the corner from Ranch 99, parking is no problem in the shared lot. I have yet to try the full extensive menu, but the AYCE is worth experiencing. Fish to rice ratio is perfect amount - not too much nor too little. Substantial filling in rolls and rolled compactly without falling apart. They do only do AYCE for lunch (with Saturday being the only weekend day available) so it can get quite busy though we went about half hour after opening and were seated immediately. Service is very efficient - almost a little too attentive but not necessarily a bad thing. Food was fresh, place was clean. The only con, if any at all, is that the rolls seem to be different mixes of similar variety so it can start tasting the same. Nonetheless, great price, food, service, location - can't be beat! read more
We have been regulars and they've downsized their menu options but prices are still high. My husband was really disappointed there's no chicken katsu plate anymore; only as a bento box option. We had that and sake sashimi and 1 appetizer roll and the bill was $80+. Not worth the $. read more
