Nice little gem in the same Winco Parking Plaza. Has all your typical sushi rolls and creative set dinners. Rolls are a bit on the skinny side but all are seasoned well. Sushi was fresh and the service was good here. Small restaurant so expect to have a wait when it gets busy during peak hours. I don't recall them having a happy hour menu. But overall we had a positive experience here and the food was satisfyingly good.

Absolutely delicious. My friends I love coming here for dinner! And always have a great time!

007 roll

New sushi spot in Folsom. They have a signature peanut sauce so I tried a roll with that. I tried the 007. Soooo delicious! The flavors were perfect combo and the peanut sauce is not a heavy peanut flavor. The prices are reasonable. I also ordered the Hot Tuna maki. A twist on the regular spicy tuna because the cucumber is chopped tiny and mixed in with the tuna. It was amazing! Service was great and overall recommend.

Came here once with a friend for dinner after we decided to try a new spot. We were not disappointed! The sushi was tasty, the staff were very friendly, and when we were there it was slow so we got to enjoy a pretty private dinner. This spot is more intimate than other sushi places I've been to so it would be cute for a date night. I'll for sure want to come back to try some new rolls.

All I have to say is come!! The food is delicious!!! The sushi is absolutely amazing and so is the miso soup! They still allowed us to eat, although they were getting ready to close! The chef is amazing! The sauces, the presentation, the flavor, are so delicious! Great customer service, clean, and ample parking. Low key and music is great combination.

Delicious! Richard and team are serving up some tasty rolls at this cozy little spot inside the Winco parking lot. The menu has something for everyone and if you still can't find 'that' roll just tell the chef and he will whip you up a custom roll. There are daily specials and chef specials posted on the board when you come in. If you are looking to expand your sushi tasting and get a feel from samurai's then step over to master sushi

Salmon Tataki! My favorite!!

So glad that Richie is here in Folsom now! Just had some sushi for lunch and everything was great. I had my favorite Salmon Tataki which comes with the tastiest seasoning and peanut sauce y2k roll was great too! Richie is so friendly and welcoming we're excited that he's over here instead of down off Hazel.

This was my first time visiting this restaurant and the food was amazing! The service staff were very professional and the overall ambience of the place was very cozy as well.

The food was fresh and that's a real good thing when it comes to sushi. The Tender Rose was really yummy. We ordered the sushi special too. The spicy roll was good but a little too spicy for my taste. The other roll was the hit of the plate. It was very flavorful and you could taste the freshness. We got here around 6. By 6:30, there was a line. The service was good. We sat at the bar and conversation with the chef was great. Always a nice touch. The ambiance is OK and pretty standard for a sushi place. I predict he'll be moving to a bigger place soon.

They call it "fresh" wasabi
Peter G.

Not worth the try. Fish was kind of ugly and refrozen like multiple times. When I asked if they had fresh wasabi , they brought me pickled with other ingredients , for which they charged an extra 4 dollars . I asked for a fresh one and they said they had it... liars . Mikuni never charge extra for fresh wasabi , as well as fish always fresh and tasty.

Salmon skin handroll and it was soo good. This picture doesn't do it justice because this thing was huge!

This is my favorite sushi place. I didn't think to take pictures of everything but this was the salmon skin handroll and it was soo good. This picture doesn't do it justice because this thing was huge! The owner Richard is so kind and makes the best sushi! If you haven't been, check them out. This fish is so fresh and the prices are really good! Great place for lunch and dinner.

Salmon Belly Drops

If I could rate this place higher I would. Do not let the tiny size of the restaurant fool you, this place puts out the best sushi in town. Richard is the best and most friendly chef and he aims to please his customers. If you liked Samurai Sushi on Folsom Blvd, you will LOVE this spot. Richard left Samurai with the menu he created only he is finally able to flex his saucier skills with his new found freedom. We got a couple of our usuals and the flavors blew us away. We can't wait to come back as soon as possible!

Sushi was delicious. Fresh great flavor and sauces seem homemade. Great happy hour and service, and love the small setting. Our new favorite place!

C. Webber roll.

As a vegetarian, I really appreciated the variety and creativity of the veggie pizzas; they're thoughtful, flavorful, and definitely not an afterthought. The space itself is inviting and well designed. The wide-open, industrial layout feels airy and comfortable, and the decor has a fun, relaxed vibe that makes you want to linger. The bar area--Hidden Tap--is especially welcoming and a great place to hang out. Speaking of the bar, the cocktails are excellent. The hibiscus and chai cocktails were both delicious and memorable--perfect complements to the food. To top it all off, the staff was friendly, helpful, and made the whole experience easy and enjoyable. This is definitely a place I'll be coming back to, whether it's for pizza, drinks, or both.

Decent tap list, nice big screen TVs above the bar and great mixed cocktails as well as whiskey selection. The grand opening was a lot of fun, good crowd came out, door prizes and electric energy. I got the bacon on the side for my doggie because I don't eat pork, but it comes with tomato, fried onion straws, lettuce, and pickle. You have the choice between fries, tater tots, onion rings or a salad. Not pictured- the amazing seared ahi tuna salad 10/10 ask for a side of extra dressing. The portion is huge and price is totally worth it as they give you a healthy portion of ahi tuna. I mean this place does not disappoint with the sides or carb options for you burgers. I overheard someone next to me say how amazing the onion rings are and how they often fill themselves up too much on them before their regular meal. I chose sweet potato fries because this is always a better choice. I appreciate the sea salt grinder at the table along with having ketchup, mustard, and hot sauce all tables and ready for me. I really think it's a little annoying when restaurants don't have condiments or salt & pepper shakers out at the table and you have to bother the waiter with yet another request. This burger was cheesy and had all the necessary toppings plus really bomb bbq sauce on it. I added a little sea salt to the sweet potato fries and they tasted perfect. They have new and rotating beers and ciders and so I tried the apricot which was really good- nice that they let you taste before ordering as well. Service was great, everyone was nice and friendly and smiled, and I love the boots, jeans, and western feel of the place. As a dog lover I'm obsessed with alll the doggy pictures there. It made me smile and feel right at home. Can't wait to return when I'm in the area! Thanks for delicious food and great service!

I was torn between two drinks, and the bartender was super sweet, she let me sample both and even offered a third based on what I told her I liked. I wish I remembered what it was called, but her recommendation was on point: super fresh, great flavor, and exactly what I didn't know I needed. The food looked solid from what I saw others eating, so I definitely want to come back and actually try it next time. The back patio was also a whole vibe! Lots of seating, games, and great energy. It was freezing the night we were there, but the big fire pits made it totally bearable. I can only imagine how fun this place is in the summertime. Hanging out here with friends on a warm night? Definitely on my list.

Big wins there. However, I'm going to throw out a complaint that throws off the vibe and why I only tip 10%. This switch to funneled counter service creates a disconnected experience where the servers and bartenders don't seem to matter. You stand in a long line that takes forever to get through. Beers aren't even listed on the overhead monitors. You feel rushed to put in your order because you're aware of everyone who is waiting behind you. Get your food, put your buzzer on a table. Someone shows up with it. When you need a drink, you have to get up and navigate a line, again. Again, I'm tipping 10% for that at most. This is counter service. If I have to get up, stand in line and get my own drinks? Not a premium experience. But the prices here? It feels really disconnected. You're charging $10 for a beer? I have to get up and stand in line to get one... It all just looks like and feels like someone who designed this workflow hasn't been in the service industry. Too many awkward disconnection points and a lack of continuity. Imagine you went to a bar with 5,000 sqft and everyone was funneled into a line with two registers. There are 30+ taps. They're charging a premium for food and beverage. It's a great space. Food is good. Staff is fine. But the vibe is just off. The story arc when you walk in to when you leave feels weird. Like a top-down edict from management trying to force patrons into an unnatural workflow trying to improve one part of the business while compromising 7 others, losing whatever soul in the process. And the tap selection is lazy. I'll update my review if the vibe changes. It's just painful to see such a great space so awkwardly used. It even mostly works until the execution falls flat. I mean, imagine having a drink and knowing you're going to have to wait 20 minutes in a line to get another one on a lazy Sunday afternoon. It's... weird. It's 2-stars weird. Someone thought this was a good idea?
