Great sushi and great service. I've been here a couple times and also ordered to go; I have always been pleased with the quality of their food and the kindness of their staff. Two times, we have gone with our kids when they were infants and toddlers. The staff was very kind and patient with them and found a place where we could all sit without waking the baby. They have a great happy hour and their sushi is delicious. They give great cuts of fish and each roll is unique and tasty. My father in law LOVES their sesame chicken bento box too. read more

I think we finally found a really good sushi place here in Folsom! It's been on our radar so we finally decided to try it I ordered the scorpion roll to go. Wait time was only about 15 minutes when I walked in there was a good amount of people eating so it's nice to know that on a Friday night people are still here. The moment I open that to go box the sushi roll was pleasantly colorful and organized well. I really like that they included all the condiments inside that to go box. My first bite was very delicious I tasted a lot of the fish versus rice which is always hard to find at certain places when the ratio isn't right. Service was 5 stars for me! We will definitely come back and dine in to get the full experience. Give this place a shot! Really good sushi here! read more

One of the better sushi spots in the Folsom area. Their fish to rice proportion has been perfect imo. Kind staff. Plenty of tables. Gets packed during dinner hours. Took a star off for long waits when dining in. Came here multiple times with a large party and a party of 2-4 and had to wait at least an hour for orders. They close in the middle of the day. Plenty of parking in this plaza. read more

My son and I went on a Sunday for dinner and we wanted to start with Sake. Waitress said they don't have a license to serve sake so I asked how about beer and she said no. Have they recently changed ownership? We ordered 2 different sushi rolls from the happy hour menu and it took 30 minutes to arrive. There was only 3 tables with 2 people each and 1 table of 6. So no excuse for the wait. I will not go back. read more

The place was clean with ample parking in the front. The waitress was very nice and the menu was simple. I got the Lion King roll and a bento box. The lion King roll was okay and so was the bento box. The teriyaki salmon was cold and the sauce was too sweet for my liking. They offer reasonable price for their food and the staff there are really nice. This is a good place for lunch when in the area. read more

Ordered the boat which included 8 pieces of sashimi and three rolls of your choice for $62. A great deal considering each roll is already between $16-19. There is happy hour everyday from 4-6 pm. Our server was great and made sure we had everything we needed. It was a like warm in the restaurant, but it was also 100+ degrees outside that day. We were looking for a place to cool down for dinner. Womp. Womp. Womp. The sashimi was good, but was served at room temperature. Not sure how I feel about that. The rolls were typical sushi rolls... Nothing to run home about. But, if you like super saucy rolls, this is the place for you. read more

Folsom's hidden gem! Taiko Sushi never disappoints. The prices are very reasonable, and the ambiance is warm and inviting. Looking around yelp for a great sushi place in my area and found this delightful restaurant. At first glance as we walked in it seemed like we might have not have good service, but staff quickly jumped in and our wonderful waitress Debbie, handed us menus. Debbie, took our orders and within minutes we received our meals. I ordered the crystal Shrimp roll (Crunchy Shrimp, cream cheese and spicy crab salad topped with avocado, sweet sauce, and spicy mayo) and it was delicious! I also have the miso soup, which was probably the best Misso soup I have had anywhere. I also wanted to mention that the restaurant was decorated really cute and I really liked the atmosphere and the beautiful artwork of metal fish plated decor. We will definitely return ASAP. read more

Walked into the cool interior on a blistering hot day. Was warmly greeted, seated, and given a tall glass of water served in a metal cup, which kept it icy cold. We started with veggie tempura. If you like tempura, this is the place to be. A nice variety of vegetables served with a very light crispy batter. The perfect amount of crunch. I could've eaten a serving all of my own. Followed up with a light the beam roll and a sparky roll. Both were very good. I would prefer less sauce on my rolls, but it's just a personal preference. We learned that there is a happy hour from 4 to 6 PM. It looks like a nice selection on that menu so we'll have to try it next time. read more

So I read all the reviews and I was still unprepared for the experience. We opted to sit at the bar. Ordered edamame, soft crab, and miso soup. All were amazing. The owner was behind the bar too and took the time engage us. He bought us sake bombs, which were actually sooo good. My bf has very specific things he wants in his roll, to which they say "no problem, chef's special". The owner also came to sit with us and we talked for a while. I can't say enough great things about this place. The food was delicious, the service was impeccable, and the whole thing was a 10/10. We have loved and frequented another local sushi place, but this is our new spot. read more

We tried this place for lunch. The waitress honored the $5 off Yelp coupon which was nice. She even gave me a complimentary miso soup which had great flavor. The ambience is nice, modern, clean, no frills with mix of pop and country music playing. The place was slower compared to the other places in Folsom we usually got to possibly due to it's location in the corner of small strip mall. The sushi was good but the rice tasted like it needed something. My yakisoba noodles with beef was a large portion but tasted so good I finished it off. My wife enjoyed her bento box. The teriyaki chicken had great flavor but again the rice was off and was a little dry. Great, attentive service but I'm not sure we'll be back. read more

Came here with coworker friends and we all left feeling stuffed and satisfied. The quality of the sushi here is pretty good -- you can tell that in the sashimi dish - it tasted fresh. For their spicy tuna hand-roll, they actually used tuna chunks instead of ground up tuna. Ursula (5/5)- A very unique roll that's unique to this place. This roll is packed with flavor from the cilantro Pesto sauce they drizzle on top the baked salmon & spicy crab + rich cream cheese flavor mixed with spicy mayo and the avocado adds creaminess to the roll. Kamikaze (5/5) - Another saucy mouthful of a roll (spicy mayo + sweet sauce) topped with jalapeños, which gives it a nice spicy kick. This roll comes with torched shrimp, smoked salmon and albacore. King's roll (4/5) - a chef's special roll. It comes with spicy salmon, cucumber, soft shell crap, albacore, tuna with tobiko sauce. This roll actually had a Strong tempura flavor, despite not having any tempura inside. Spider Roll (2/5) - this was plain almost like a regular California roll. It's supposed to be soft shell crab topped with daikon, green onion and masago. I think they forgot the green onions on our order. Salmon skin salad (2/5) - salmon skin was soggy because it's served on a bed of seaweed salad. Would not get again as it's not worth $9. Lion King Roll (3/5) - A baked roll of smoked salmon with crab salad. It's good, but tastes just like plain baked salmon for the most part Garlic Edamame (5/5) - Very flavorful; strong garlic flavor with a nice charcoal/smokiness to it. Minus 1 star mainly because the rice they use was too sticky and not very formed. The rolls easily broke apart when we tried to pick up with chopsticks. Will definitely be back!!! read more

We were immediately seated and served with ice waters in metal cups. We ordered 4 rolls from their happy hour menu. We had no idea this gem of a restaurant serving delicious Japanese cuisine was in the Broadstone plaza. We feasted on ramen, sushi, and rice. The owner greeted everyone in the restaurant and made us all feel so welcomed. When we got our food, the quality and taste did not miss the mark, it was bullseye for us as we found ourselves a new delicious Japanese eatery. We didn't have to ask and our server immediately knew what we needed and gave us extra bowls to share. Just tried Taiko for the first time. Super attentive staff. Staff was super attentive and personable. Great energy from him and the restaurant was clean and aesthetically pleasing. This has been our go to sushi spot ever since they changed owners. Service is welcoming, food is fantastic and you can't go wrong with ordering a beer that's now served in a chilled glass. We especially love the rolls. It's meat packed with just the right amount of rice. And for us ladies, the rolls are large but not gigantic, so you do not look like slob eating. I love the children's meals, especially if you have a picky eater. Each part of their meal is contained in its own section because the plate has dividers. I love this. My little one can eat what she likes and explore the other options on her own with no melt downs of "food touching" Ps, we love Tammy :) read more

Came here for dinner with my girlfriend, didn't realize they didn't have any outdoor dining but the shopping center had some tables outside. When entering the restaurant, asked the staff member if they had outdoor dining and she said "no and only takeout" and when we asked if we can have a "sushi boat for takeout", staff member said "let me ask the management and see what they say." Then we were directed by another waitress and said we could eat outside and she will serve us. She didn't have to and she exceeded our expectation of any restaurant experience. Sushi boat "Fishing Boat": ***** (8pc sashimi, 3 specialty rolls - Yamato, samurai, rainbow) Green tea: ***** Service: ***** (our waitress deserves a recognition) 15 out of 15 stars, earning % or 5 star rating from me. Visited this place for an evening out and while looking for some sushi to eat and so glad we did. Let me start with the customer service was awesome by Debbie. This seems to be a mom and pop place and they treated us like family even though it was only our first time. Other patrons in the area seem to be regulars and they were having great interactions with the staff. As for the food it had great flavor. The crystal shrimp roll was good and my guest had this roll and really enjoyed it. I had the light the beam roll and this had a great flavor profile and went really well together with all ingredients. The tempura Udon was delish and would definitely order this again. Good sized rolls and good sized portion of udon was definitely a hit! As far as the ambiance this is a locals place where the staff treats you like family and you feel welcomed and will have a great dinner. Not many places I give 5 stars but this deserves based on the good food and over the top customer service provided by Debbie and the staff. Thank you for making our dinner date amazing! read more
