We recently checked this place out and had a pretty interesting experience. Visually, the presentation of the food was on point--it looked great and was clearly thoughtfully plated. However, the texture was a bit off for some of the dishes. One unique thing that stood out was their use of soy skin wrappers in-place of traditional nori seaweed. It added a different texture and taste to the rolls we ordered, and while unexpected, it was a creative twist that we appreciated. The ambiance was what really drew us in. It's hard to explain exactly why, but something about the vibe made us want to stay. It felt kind of like a lounge or club--dim lighting, music, and a trendy aesthetic. Definitely a place you'd want to linger in for a bit. Service started off strong. The staff was attentive and checked in with us regularly throughout the beginning of the meal. But towards the end- service was lacking and they were inattentive- we had to try and flag down someone in order to get the bill so that we could pay. Overall, it's a cool spot with a unique twist on familiar flavors and a vibe that makes you want to hang out. Just wish the service stayed consistent all the way through.

This place is seriously some of the best sushi I've ever had. The rolls are fantastic, full of flavor and the fish is fresh. I read a few reviews of others who are not happy with the name of the rolls. Oh, my goodness, seriously, guys. Are you really going to judge a sushi restaurant because of the name of a roll? I'm telling you, this place blows other sushi places out of the water. Two of the rolls that you must try are the lemon drop and the spicy girl. All the other rolls looked amazing as well. I can't wait to go back. Oh, and my kids loved it too.

Expensive with average tasting sushi. The only cool thing was the fancy menu with all the preppy named sushi and other food items. If only the taste and quantity was something of match.

    Food presented so pretty!

My auntie recently took me here, and it was my first time visiting. Right off the bat, I loved the vibe super cute decor and a welcoming atmosphere. We came during happy hour and were pleasantly surprised by the prices. We ordered a Sapporo, a few rolls, and the garlic edamame, which was honestly my favorite part! I even ended up dipping my sushi into the edamame sauce, and it was delicious. The sushi rolls were beautifully presented, each one garnished with a flower and plated so nicely. It really added to the experience. This spot is perfect for a chill late-night happy hour, even on a Sunday. I'll definitely be back again soon!

Very nice restaurant, clean, friendly staff. Restrooms were even very cleaned. lol. I'll be honest I'm not a big sushi guy, but I really enjoyed our meal. There was 5 of us and pretty much had the place to ourselves. Was very nice. Music was different, one minute playing one and then playing Hispanic. Music then EDM type. lol. Was od. But overall our visit was nice and food was good too. Oh I loved the names they have for drinks and entree dishes.

I went here with my family a few days ago and i loved it! We are trying all the sushi places in el-dorado county to see which one is our favorite and this one is definitely in the top 3. The service was amazing! They had water out in under 2 minutes, got our drink order right away and it came out in under 3 minutes. We had 7 people. Our waitress also took our food order really quickly and got it out fast. She was very on top of things - especially considering how busy they were. She checked on us all the right amounts and knew everything on the menu, didn't bug us too much but didn't ignore us either. We ordered 6 dishes that I personally tried. The first one we got was the spicy girl. It was definitely spicy, everyone at our table to tried one said it was pretty extreme. My mouth was burning but my mom loved it. Definitely only get it if you love spicy food. The next one we got was the rainbow, it was DELICIOUS. It wasn't spicy at all, and tastes good. It was bland though. I prefer it more basic. If you don't I would get something more flavorful like the spicy girl or the Hawaiian. This one was interesting, i thought it was extremely spicy but my mom and dad said it was fine. I would assume mild spice but if you're not a spicy person I'd definitely not get this one. It was delicious though, just extreme. The teriyaki bowl was also delicious, not spicy at all and tasted like it was advertised. The spicy chili fried chicken bowl wasn't spicy at all, coming from someone who doesn't like spice. If you're looking for some flavor I wouldn't get this one. I would 100% come here again!! PS. The presentation was BEAUTIFUL!

A Bittersweet Goodbye to a Favorite Spot -- Sky Sushi used to be our go-to place for authentic sushi. It had the perfect blend of traditional flavors with a modern touch that kept us coming back time and again. Unfortunately, after the main chef left, it just didn't feel the same. Some of the traditional touches we loved seemed to be missing, and the overall experience wasn't quite what it used to be. While the current team does a good job, it's not quite the standout spot that it once was. That said, it's still a decent place to grab sushi. It's bittersweet to see the change, but we're grateful for the great meals we enjoyed there in past 18 months . If you're in the area, it's worth a visit--just keep in mind that if you're seeking a traditional Japanese experience, you might notice a difference. *uploaded some food photos from various visits to share what we typically order.

First time visiting this restaurant and I was pleasantly surprised! The restaurant looked up scale and vibing with great music and lighting. The sushi chefs were awesome and made my experience the best! Our waitress was a little slow at first but once we moved to the bar area it hit better. The miso soup was delicious as had great flavor. The recommended edamame with garlic sauce was out of this world and I'm so happy we took a chance on them. The sushi roll that was created especially for by the ingredients I asked for was so good and I can't wait to experience this restaurant again very soon!

Visited this place as we live here in EDH and everything closes by 9pm even on Fridays so hard to get good meal past this time. Well I'm Glad we stopped by. First not sure about all the recent bad reviews or what was different about me and my guest, but we were greeted, sat down at the sushi bar and the food was amazing! I had the king dragon roll and the scallop maniac and both were good rolls. The scallop maniac was awesome and would go back for this roll alone. The chefs both Kevin and Alan were attentive, talkative and carried a good conversation throughout our meal. The selection of music was great and loved it and not too loud as others have said. The service by Marissa was fantastic and very helpful through the entire meal. I would say Sky sushi sound definitely be on your list of sushi places here in El Dorado Hills. This was our first time here and we will definitely be back. The chefs and the staff made us feel at home and welcomed and the food was delicious and the rolls had great flavor and the ingredients were paired well! Definitely a great place for dinner! I recommend it!

Calling all sushi lovers!!…read more Umi is a delicious discovery, and is located in El Dorado Hills. This is a sushi restaurant that needs to be revisited over and over When I read some of the other YELP reviews, I was on the fence, but the pictures were very tempting, and that was enough to draw me in When we arrived, there were definitely a few people waiting for tables, but they graciously seated us immediately. Service is definitely slow, but it's clear that they are so incredibly busy and turning out fabulous food, the patient is definitely a virtue. Waiting a few extra minutes for a delectable dish is absolutely worth it. Diners tip: they have a pretty extensive menu, and part of that menu they offer 50% off rolls! They do not cheap out! We ordered two rolls to share thinking that we could always order more if needed. Two rolls was absolutely plenty for two people to share. We ordered the rainbow lobster roll from their special off the menu/menu The rainbow lobster roll is not only gorgeous to look at, but it is a phenomenal role. And, get this it's only $23! It's is loaded with the freshest fish. Salmon, Hamachi, tuna, ebi, lobster, and yummy sauces! It's absolutely delectable and my mouth waters. Just thinking about how delicious this roll is. Our other roll is the Hoss roll. Fried shrimp, cream cheese, crabmeat, lightly torched salmon, with avocado. This is the deliciousness that we all want out of a sushi roll. Both of these rolls were absolutely amazing! The Hoss roll is also loaded with fresh fish. The shrimps are a really nice size, and each bite was better than the last. This is really an amazing role, especially because this one being 50% off my expectations were so low, and my expectations were completely exceeded by the rolls and the restaurant. They have their own parking lot that is shared with businesses in the strip center, but there's plenty of free parking. Reservations aren't necessary, but highly recommended for larger groups Absolutely a must try!

Ordered 2 ramens and a beer, but the beer was never brought out; notified the waiter/manager about it and he took it off the check which was great. He also offered us and other tables a small sampler plate of the chicken katsu which was delicious. The thing that ticked me was when our ramens came out, we tried the broth and it was nice, but my bf shortly noticed we didn't have any eggs. Took quite a while for staff to notice us for us to call them over. Once we told the waiter (not the guy that brought tables the katsus) he asked us which ramens we ordered to see if they come with eggs, *All of them come with eggs except for kids ramen* and then he asked if we were sure it wasn't there and if it wasn't just buried under our ramen. We were looking at him with our ramen bowls still full to the top shuffling around our noodles to prove to him there's no eggs. Like i get mistakes happen, I wasn't upset about the beer, the no water refills, or the egg missing; it was just the way that waiter questioned us about it that made the meal sour. The food was good, but that interaction with that staff made us realize we could just go to one of the other fukumi restaurants bc the only difference to us was the service. *I even took a photo of the ramen before we realized the eggs were missing

The staff are friendly, the restaurant is clean, I used their restroom and it's clean. I always do this coz this is really important to me. The order was ready in about 15 minutes, as estimated. I ordered the Spicy Ramen, but skipped the egg and pork (and requested extra veggies in their place). They did seem to give extra veggies, and the bowl was loaded with spinach and mushroom slices, along with several fish cakes and peppers. The Ramen noodles were cooked well, and I enjoyed eating everything, except the broth itself (not much flavor, and salty, to my taste). My husband looked at photos here on Yelp, and found one labeled "Stir fried veggie udon". That isn't on the online menu, and when I tried to order it, I was told that it was Veggie Udon (which is usually cooked in broth) "stir-fried in Teriyaki sauce" (not on the menu). And indeed it was. He loved it. The Teriyaki sauce was not overly sweet (like many other places). The stir-fry was well done (not oily), with a very good selection of veggies, and some tofu. The veggies and noodles were cooked to perfection. It was a big hit for him. Prices were quite reasonable, and the few people I interacted with were very pleasant. It was a very nice lunch experience.
