Dinner Bento Box
Elizabeth T.

I was excited to try out this spot, but unfortunately I had a negative experience with the staff. I called and ordered at 4:30 and was told my two items would take 15-20 minutes. I arrived 15 minutes later and the hostess proceeded to tell me that they had not even started and that I called only 5 minutes ago which was not true. I am disappointed she did not just apologize and instead her response was rude/untrue and I ended up waiting 40 minutes from the call time. It's unfortunate because these two bentos were solid, but I am not sure I will be back due to my experience.

Very nice people, they are very aware of the customers needs and pretty quick. The atmosphere is relaxing. The bathroom signs are funny. The food is really yummy. Every thing I've tried so far!

New Management [Cameron Park CA] They had just opened for dinner hours when we walked in. The restaurant is small and intimate and we were welcomed with that familiar "Irasshaimase" greeting. We were led to a seating towards the back. Very friendly customer service. We ordered a couple of bento boxes and Mom had the single entree of Shrimp Tempura. Dinner Bento Box is a choice of 3 items and I chose beef teriyaki, salmon teriyaki, mixed tempura. Everything was delicious especially the salad... they were generous on the dressing and it wasn't like just eating leaves LoL! So good! The miso soup was hot and delicious with lots of tofu. The beef teriyaki was soft and tender and the marinated meat was so tasty and flavorful. I got so full from the salad (I ate my hubby's portion too) I couldn't even touch my salmon teriyaki. I could barely finish my mixed tempura... the crispy batter was good. So glad we discovered this place located in the Goldorado Shopping Center in Cameron Park. The restaurant is under new management only on their 3rd week. It was easy to find off Highway 50. Won't be our last here... Review #3445

Spider hand roll
Loren P.

A hankering for Japanese food brought me to Yuki Sushi Bar since I was getting my car serviced that same day in the area. I was originally drawn to the good reviews and wanted to see for myself if they rung true. Yuki is a tiny restaurant with limited seating, but very clean and quiet. I was greeted warmly by the staff upon entering and quickly ushered to a table. The AC was blasting and it was nice and chilly. Before I arrived, I was browsing their website and noticed that they offered 50% off rolls (besides their special rolls) all day every day. This definitely caught my attention and I wanted to try one of their hand rolls. I also wanted to have a lunch bento box. As I already knew what I was going to choose, I quickly flagged down my server and placed my order. I chose the spider hand roll and the lunch bento with salmon nigiri and salmon teriyaki. For my first experience at Yuki, this myriad of choices would give me a good idea on the quality of their ingredients and freshness of the raw fish, as well as the flavor of their grilled meats (in this case, salmon). My miso soup arrived promptly, and I loved the strong flavor of the miso. The soup was piping hot and came with the most adorable little cubes of tofu. I didn't see any seaweed in my miso soup but that's just my personal preference to have seaweed. My hand roll arrived next, and I was happy to note that it was well-stuffed. The spider hand roll comes with soft-shell crab, and they didn't skimp on the meat portion. Everything in the hand roll was very well-balanced and delicious. I pretty much scarfed my hand roll down, it was so good. Finally my lunch bento arrived, and I was excited to dig in. I was pretty hungry and the first thing I noticed was the size of the salad compared to the size of the rice. Personally, I felt like it was a bit disproportionate. Don't get me wrong, the salad was super fresh and all the leaves were coated in the dressing evenly, but I wish I had gotten more rice. If I hadn't gotten the hand roll I would still have been hungry after finishing my bento box. The salmon nigiri was very good. There was no fishiness in the meat and it practically melted in my mouth. The salmon teriyaki was juicy and had a lovely charred flavor. No complaints for those two items. Everything was delightful. To reiterate, I wish I had received more rice with my lunch bento, but I was still very pleased with my lunch, and the quality of the sashimi and other ingredients was excellent, especially for a land-locked town. With tax and tip, it was around $30 for my meal and I would be happy to pay for another dining experience at Yuki Sushi Bar. I will return with my husband next time so we can try a wider variety of rolls!

Still So Good -- Definitely Not Costco-Level! This was my second visit, and I still absolutely love it. The food comes out fast, everything is fresh, and you can really taste the quality. I saw someone say it's like Costco food -- I honestly don't agree at all. This place puts real care into what they serve. Even the salad dressing tastes homemade -- my daughter usually avoids salad, but she finished the whole plate! I also really loved the tofu miso soup. It's flavorful and comforting, but not too salty -- we didn't feel thirsty after drinking it, which says a lot about the ingredients they use. If you want a cooler spot, try sitting a bit further inside away from the main door. The staff are super friendly, and the place has a calm, welcoming vibe. It's quickly become one of my favorite spots. Highly recommend!

I went today for the first time and i loved it! The food was so delicious!! It came out so fast and the lady who served us was very kind. The overall vibe of the restaurant was fun too, they had bathrooms, a nice seating area, and not too loud music. I would say this is my favorite sushi place!

Spicy ramen

I've been wanting to try this place for a while and finally ordered ramen for delivery. The spicy ramen was amazing and is now my go-to for cold winter days. The flavor was rich and comforting, with just the right amount of heat. Since I ordered through DoorDash I can't speak to the atmosphere or service yet, but I'll definitely be going back to try more items. Such a hidden gem in Cameron Park!

Phili roll with sliced lemon on top.

Always friendly service and clean. Rolls seem extra big and fresh. Price is good and their iced tea is the best. The only thing is that when I dine alone I like to sit at the sushi bar. But it's always so crowded with items, I can't see over and chat. Would recommend and I'll visit again.

Started to be a cold day, but it was nice and warm in restaurant. They took my order right away, and drinks were provided quickly. The rice portion was small, but taste of the food was wonderful.

思美

My family and I were looking for a good place for our Sunday dinner at Cameron Park, so we decided to visit this sushi restaurant, and it exceeded our expectations!!The interior decor is elegant and although the space is small, the ambiance is delightful. The staff were incredibly warm providing meticulous service throughout our meal. Despite the restaurant being busy, the quality of the dishes remained top-notch, with no signs of rushed or subpar preparation. The cost was quite affordable because of the 50%off discount. My favorite were the "Flying Tiger" ,which featured lemon slices, salmon and cilantro, giving it a refreshing and unique flavor; and the "Pepper Fin", which the fish tasted so fresh and delicious! I highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely come back in the future.

Calling all sushi lovers!!…read more Umi is a delicious discovery, and is located in El Dorado Hills. This is a sushi restaurant that needs to be revisited over and over When I read some of the other YELP reviews, I was on the fence, but the pictures were very tempting, and that was enough to draw me in When we arrived, there were definitely a few people waiting for tables, but they graciously seated us immediately. Service is definitely slow, but it's clear that they are so incredibly busy and turning out fabulous food, the patient is definitely a virtue. Waiting a few extra minutes for a delectable dish is absolutely worth it. Diners tip: they have a pretty extensive menu, and part of that menu they offer 50% off rolls! They do not cheap out! We ordered two rolls to share thinking that we could always order more if needed. Two rolls was absolutely plenty for two people to share. We ordered the rainbow lobster roll from their special off the menu/menu The rainbow lobster roll is not only gorgeous to look at, but it is a phenomenal role. And, get this it's only $23! It's is loaded with the freshest fish. Salmon, Hamachi, tuna, ebi, lobster, and yummy sauces! It's absolutely delectable and my mouth waters. Just thinking about how delicious this roll is. Our other roll is the Hoss roll. Fried shrimp, cream cheese, crabmeat, lightly torched salmon, with avocado. This is the deliciousness that we all want out of a sushi roll. Both of these rolls were absolutely amazing! The Hoss roll is also loaded with fresh fish. The shrimps are a really nice size, and each bite was better than the last. This is really an amazing role, especially because this one being 50% off my expectations were so low, and my expectations were completely exceeded by the rolls and the restaurant. They have their own parking lot that is shared with businesses in the strip center, but there's plenty of free parking. Reservations aren't necessary, but highly recommended for larger groups Absolutely a must try!

Lunch, dinner, it didn't matter. It was always the easy choice because you knew you were getting quality every time. Zeev runs a great place. The fish is fresh, the cuts are right, and you can tell there's real care behind what's being served. The toro and hamachi kama were always my favorites. Not every place does those well, but here they were consistently on point. What really made it stand out though was the people. Zeev's wife is amazing. She's always making sure everyone is taken care of, checking in, and creating that kind of environment where you feel welcomed, not just served. In my opinion, this is the best spot in the EDH area when it comes to sushi and fish quality. That consistency is what kept me coming back. I've since moved, so I haven't been able to go as often, but this was one of those places that stayed in rotation for a long time. For me, it's a solid 4.5 out of 5. High quality fish, great people, and a place that actually feels like it's run with pride.

For me, the tempura shrimp in the Shrimp Tease was overcooked and chewy. For the price point, I would say the sushi is acceptable but not at all traditional, mostly American Japanese fusion geared towards a suburban palate. The rolls were very thinly sliced, which is unusual but nice because you get more bites. My friend got the chirashi (sp?) bowl which has a lot of different types of fish. The fish was fresh. The menu is mostly specialty rolls with crab, shrimp tempura, and spicy tuna. I asked about getting a simpler roll but was told it would still be $14, so the specialty rolls make more sense. They all have strange, punny names that don't relate to the ingredients. Overall, we felt it was overpriced for the quality of the food and not exactly what we were expecting but it had open seating for a group of 8 on a Friday night. The service was fine, and sushi chefs didn't hesitate to ask answer questions when I asked about a new roll.

We came across three female lobsters with eggs, and although some people consider it lucky, it honestly didn't sit well with me. From what I understand, egg-bearing lobsters are typically supposed to be released, so it made me worry about long-term sustainability and potential shortages. Other than that, the experience itself was enjoyable. We requested a table with a view and got to watch the sunset while eating, which made the dinner feel extra nice. The prime rib was definitely my favorite. The crab was juicy and fresh, sushi was just okay, but the poke was surprisingly flavorful. I skipped dessert, but my boyfriend said that ended up being his favorite part of the night. I'd still come back again, but I really hope they become more mindful about the lobster situation.

We actually had a few family members back out because we were under the impression it was mostly seafood, but it turned out to be a full standard buffet with plenty of variety: pastas, salads, pizza, soups, prime rib, and more. Definitely something for everyone. Pricing was $60 for adults and $25 for kids 12 and under, which honestly felt fair because there's no way two tween girls were about to put away $60 worth of food each. I don't recall hearing about a senior discount, and if they do offer one, I wish it had been mentioned since we had two grandmas in their 80s with us, plus adults in their 50s and 60s. Me, freshly turned 29 however? I'll bravely shoulder the $60 burden. No problem at all. One thing that did work out nicely: parties of 8 or more automatically get an 18% gratuity added. Since you pay upfront when you walk in, it completely eliminated the usual family debate over who's contributing or covering the tip, which was perfect since I was treating. The restaurant itself is tucked pretty deep inside the casino, which is mildly inconvenient. It honestly reminded me of the old Fry's Electronics checkout maze where they'd route you past endless gadgets, gizmos, and candy before letting you escape. Except here, it's slot machines and gaming tables. After getting off the elevator, you walk a ways and then catch another escalator or elevator down another level or two. Maybe it only felt far because we were new to the layout, but give yourself a few extra minutes if you've never been. We were told reservations were required, though technically they aren't. There was a standby line for walk-ins, but it was easily 50 people deep while reservation holders were being seated quickly and given clear priority, as they should be. So while not mandatory, reservations are very strongly recommended. As for the food itself, the crab and lobster were salty but overall pretty good. There was one lobster that tasted a little "off" or muddy, but with buffet-style dining, it was easy enough to grab another. Fair warning though: lobster and crab are messy and take work. This is not a low-maintenance dining experience for the weak, lazy, or easily frustrated (LOL). The prime rib was solid, though not especially memorable. The mac and cheese was unfortunately bland, and the desserts were probably the weakest part of the buffet. The bread pudding was the standout dessert, and my sister swore the soft serve was surprisingly good. Overall, everyone genuinely seemed to enjoy themselves, and it felt like a worthwhile outing with family. We left full, happy, and glad we went. While I'm not completely sure it'll become a regular destination for us, I'd still say it was a fun experience and definitely worth trying at least once.

I first made a reservation online, one week in advance for 5pm on a Tuesday. In the reservation notes, I specifically requested a table on the patio (I have a toddler that is in the throwing food on the ground phase), requesting a high chair and stating this dinner is for a 69th birthday dinner. When we arrived 5 minutes before our scheduled reservation, we had to wait almost 15 minutes past our reservation because our table outside was not ready. We had to wait for them to get cushions for the patio chairs, wait time 15 minutes. When they brought us back to the table stating it was "ready" - it wasn't; the table was not wiped down, there was not a high chair, no napkins/utinsils - needless to say, the table was still not ready. After almost 30 minutes past our reservation time, we finally sat down. Our server Nick was cool, personable and provided good recommendations. The best thing we ordered was the lobster roll. One of the best I have ever tried. They have a good selection of starters, seems to be their bread and butter at Eldo, just the starters. The oysters 1/2 doz for $24 was pretty good, nice and fresh oysters. The following entrees were pretty salty which included the Eldo Burger and Bolognese. My shrimp skewers were okay, it came with 2 skewers and the rest of the plate was a cucumber salad, a lot of roasted potatoes and 2 large homemade pita flatbread, nothing to write home about with the entrees. Pretty disappointing all together with the main dishes. With a bill of $325, sad to say Eldo is overrated in my honest opinion, sadly not rushing back for a second visit anytime soon.
