1 Star! Disappointing Service and Food. First time eating at Thai Noodle Express last Sunday (4/12/26), and unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience. We were a group of 11, and I had to say our experience was very similar to another reviewer here, (Elite Marlane R.) The guy punk white dude taking our order was also the one bringing out the food, and his attitude was honestly shocking. When we politely asked if we could switch coffee to Coke, he immediately said no in a loud, irritated tone, saying Coke costs more than coffee. For us, the price difference wasn't even an issue, it was the way he spoke to us that felt disrespectful. At one point, I was just looking toward the door, and he suddenly asked me, "What are you looking at?" in a loud voice, as if I was staring at him. It was uncomfortable and unnecessary, especially since it drew attention from everyone around. Despite the poor service, we still made the effort to clean up after ourselves, busing our plates and making sure the table was neat before leaving. To the owner of Thai Noodle Express, I hope you can train your staff on how to properly treat customers. Good service goes a long way. On top of everything, the Pad Thai did not taste authentic. Very disappointing overall. I wouldn't recommend this place based on our experience. read more

The food was great! Everything tasted fresh and delicious. Small portions though compared to other Thai places. I do feel a little scammed though. When I looked them up on line I was stoked about the prices. So I went with them for a pick up lunch. But when I got there to my surprise...the prices were exponentially higher!!!!! Second time trying this place and I approve. You can order at a kiosk or at the register and service is always prompt. However, the layout is a bit tight and right on the corner of the street so seating fills up quickly. Drinks are self serve so just grab what you'd like. I had the beef pad see ew today and it was really good! The veggies were fresh and cooked perfectly. The beef was seasoned well and tender and the chewiness of those fat rice noodles were such an addicting bite. I tried the chicken panang last time and it is a bit sweet for my taste, but still good. I definitely want to come by to try more of the menu. Their portions are more than enough and I'd say it's worth trying out. There is normally never a wait and my food arrives quickly which makes Thai Noodle Express a great stop for lunch! read more

I've been eating here for years and it's always been good and the staff friendly and helpful. Last night we went there for dinner and I ordered 2 entrees, one which was pineapple fried rice. $75 + dollars for 2 meals and drinks. The portions were so small. The food bland and not even good. They gave me fried rice instead of pineapple fried rice. I went up to the counter and told the girl cashier I didn't get what I ordered. She was very apologetic but the young punk white dude who obviously was in charge, started giving me attitude and a hard time saying u have to pay $3 more for the pineapple fried rice. I told him I just want what I ordered. Meanwhile we had already spent another $10 on drinks while were waiting. So he said u have to pay just like any other customer. At that point I was pissed, I lost my appetite completely and felt discusted by how rude and unnecessarily indignate he was being. He tried to come over and say he thought I hadn't ordered yet, he was totally lying and backtracking and insulting my intelligence. He offered to bring me a side of pineapple. The pinpineapple fried rice is only good cooked with the pineapple. I don't want cold pineapple on the side. Terrible customer service, lousy food, the prawns were so chewy we couldn't even eat them. I asked for a refund and they still refused and gave us flack. So we left hungry, disappointed and upset. They need to fire that guy and get some better employees who know how to cook and treat the customers right. read more

We aren't too familiar with the quality of Thai food in Placerville, but had a craving and gave this place a shot. Their pad Thai with flavorful and soft and chewy, a Hallmark of a well done dish. It had a little bit of a shrimp aftertaste which was not our preference but still very good. We think this place ranks higher than one of the most popular Thai restaurants in Roseville. Also ordered the pickled cucumbers, which, unfortunately were not pickled. Before ordering I asked if it was vinegar based because I wanted something sour and refreshing to which they said yes. However, it was very much on the sweet side and there was no vinegar detected in the flavor profile. The cucumbers were fresh and crispy. They have some bell peppers to make it more gourmet but it wasn't what I expected and I would never order it again. If I passed by the area again I would swing by and order some more pad Thai, easy decision. read more

The flavor in the food was amazing. I do wish I had more beef in my foot and a high-quality, and I wish there was a higher quality chicken inside the miso ramen. The workers there were happy and nice and the place was clean. I would definitely come back here. read more

I arrived and was surprised to see papaya salad on the menu. I asked for Thai hot, extra hot. They may have been worried about how spicy it would be.. it's fine, they gave me extra peppers on the side. I thought it could be spicier, but the flavor was really good. Tasted fresh, perfect balance of sour, umami, sweet, and lil bit spicy. Also had the chicken larb. Sticky rice not included. I really like this one from here. Very light, good seasoning. Ordered the drunken noodles and pad kai noodles. Very similar noodle dishes with slight differences, both really yummy. read more

Drive farther down the hill!!! The pumpkin curry was extremely spicy and I requested light spice. The flavor of the curry was strange and didn't taste good, and it had way too much salt. After two bites, I couldn't finish the curry. The pad thai portion is smaller than ever. The peanut sauce always has a rotten taste. My experience was not that great. We were able to sit inside which is rare since they have only a very few tables. The food was barely so-so and the portion sizes were miniature-ish. We ordered 2 items, they were ready about 5 minutes apart and there was no table service. I asked for a couple of plates, but was given 2 small bowls instead and it seemed like it was a real imposition for them to provide these. Papaya Salad is supposed have peanuts, but they were absent. I would say it was a bit more busy than usual. The service wasn't great, it normally is solid from prior visits here. The food took 50 minutes when it was estimated at 20-25 minutes. I understand it is busy so I am not going to complain too much about that, but when the food came out I was pretty disappointed. I got the Thai spicy noodle soup which has been great before, never been a big fan on the chicken here how it's almost boiled completely with no flavor honestly. It had less flavor today sadly, and the shrimp was the same way. The broth was pretty good but they also short changed us with vegetables as well, not with the normal quality/type/size of vegetables. Come for the Thai food, skip the Ramens! I have never had a Pad Gai before, and I loved it! In short, it is a more savoury version of a pad see ew, sans the sweet sauce (no palm sugar, I suppose). The umami factor was more prominent and you could taste and smell the fish sauce more, without it overpowering the dish. There was some sear but I wish there was more. I could use some more smokiness from some serious wok-sear on the noodles. It was a little light on the salt (yay!) and that allowed for a more generous dollop of the hot chilli oil that kicked up the whole dish several levels. I had a bite of the pad see ew and that was delicious too. It was generous on the sauce but a little light on the sear. Lastly, K's tonkatsu spicy ramen was a miss. It wasn't terrible, but it was neither spicy nor very "ramenny". The broth did not taste like a ramen broth (however one might argue it does if you consider boxed instant ramens in the mix) but then again what would you expect from a "Thai Noodle" place? After all is said and done, the two Thai noodle dishes were really good, but I wish they seared it more. read more

I was really craving thai food and since we were stopping in Folsom I found this place. You order at the counter. You can eat in or do take out. Employees were very nice. Prices pretty average. We had our food delivered to the table. He forgot silver ware so my husband had to ask for that and napkins. The only thing we were a bit disappointed was both the soup and Pad Thai needed a bit more spices. My Pad Thai didn't have enough kick to it. My husband's curry was great and definitely had a nice flavor with a kick. The place isn't very big with limited seating. I think there was 1 bathroom. Express (fast) Thai food sounds good, decided to try this place out... but now I presume they have a couple of really tasty dishes for repeated customers. Meanwhile, the rest of us aimless try our luck at what we think might be good. Apparently, i picked the wrong dish to order... allow me to explain. 31. Pineapple chicken fried rice - see my photo - filtered out and show the small portion of chicken, just between those two chopsticks, and instead they loaded up the plate with rice. However, in order to be considered "fried rice," there's typically an egg component, but egg was also absent from this dish, all for $15.95 disappointing, this was. After talking it over with my wife, we decided to avoid complaining and never return (talk with out feet, so-to-speak). But as fate would have it, the host/cashier asked how everything was... so I showed my photo, which I snapped prior to taking any bites, and ended up complaining about this small/tiny portion of chicken... she was also surprised and upon returning from the kitchen, it was explained that I could be given more chicken. So i declined the offer and said we just wouldn't return to this restaurant (no trust in their cook methods), unfortunately this is all true. So if you're hungry... and figure this place it fast, conveniently located, and most likely good.... I wish you luck. For what it's worth, we tipped $4 (for $32 meal for two) where we ordered/paid for the meal at the registered, and then waited 20 minutes at the table...on a Friday.. just after 12noon, I felt this was a reasonable wait time, considering those factors. Staff was friendly and welcoming. Interior was clean, steady flow of customers and a few customers at 2 of the 4 tables window barstool seating was open and clean. Ordering was easy enough and quick. Ordered a Veggie Pho, egg rolls and jasmine tea. Pho came out quickly and first, tea then egg rolls. The Pho broth had a delightful flavor profile, perfect for the cool fall evening that I came in. Personally I would have preferred more veggies in a veggie pho, at least some mushrooms and more bean sprouts. Overall it was the best tasting item I ordered. The jasmine tea was a basic tea bag, the flavor was floral and warming. The egg rolls were my least favorite but edible. The dipping sauce was good, but the rolls were soggy and a little too greasy for me and had a weird pumpkin? taste (best way to describe it), not a fan of pumpkin flavors so that was a thumbs down for me. Pretty sure they didn't have any pumpkin, nor were they supposed to taste that way lol but I was hungry after my 8 hr drive lol so I ate them anyways. Decided to try this Thai place in Placerville. It's a corner lot, so it's not that big. But they make the most out of their space. Their menu has the basic Thai food, with mostly chicken as their protein. The staff were kind. Some food were made promptly, while other in our group had to wait way longer. We had a mixed reaction from our group. The pad Thai was average. While the fried rice & yellow curry were excellent. I had the pad se ew & thought it wasn't that good. We were there for the first time yesterday... Not going back. I ordered the Miso soup, which came like warm and did not have an abundance of vegetables or noodles.. my noodles were gone in 4 bites. My wife had the sweet and sour chix special.. hers came cold and also did not seem like a fair serving.. she also went to use the salt shaker and it was stuck to the table with honey.. lol. A cute Thai spot in the row of Placerville -- they have a small storefront and pickup window following all COVID precautions. Their menu had all the Thai basics and the food was really tasty -- they were also able to modify food to be vegetarian and swap out chicken for tofu. I got the pad see ew and the noodles were noodles were chewy but firm and the veggies were covered with the sauce. They added potato which was an unexpected but welcome twist to the yummy dish!
