I had my Birthday celebration party at Thai Noodle. Best party in my life .... I tried many dished I had not had and a few traditional. I like their choices in spices as well as food was done to perfection. The portions size of the dishes were large by any standard and all vegetable were fresh and crunchy .... I believe some were from local farmers markets. .. The waitstaff were all kind and put up with all my dumb questions. I am learning to cook Thai food Prices are a tad lower than most restaurants in the area .... The place was designed well and clean as a whistle !!!! No complaints when it comes to this small Thai restaurant in a town where one would not to expect to find one. After a long day running around Placerville and various other nearby cities, I was starving and an Asian meal sounded like it would hit the spot. I made the mistake of showing up at Thai Noodle Express only to find the very few tables taken, so it turned into a to go order. The staff was very accommodating especially since they could not seat us at the restaurant. They went over some of the local favorites, which really came down to their Pad Thai and various curry dishes. We ended up of course going with their suggestion, grabbing a chicken curry and pad Thai dish. Since we had to opt for the to go option, we had plenty of time to peruse around downtown Placerville, which easily soaked up the time we needed to before our food was ready. When it comes to the amount of food they give you, I'd drop an easy 5/10 on them, as the serving size still left me hungry afterwards. Flavor wise, it definitely hit the spot on both dishes, so no complaints in that department. Overall Thai Noodle Express hit the spot, but I do not know if it is the supreme Thai restaurant that one may come to expect if coming from other cities with much more fierce competition in the Thai restaurant scene. I'm new to Placerville from Los Angeles. When it comes to food options in the area that compare to LA are few except for THAI NOODLE. I have been here about 4 times & my opinion is it's delicious! I've only had the chicken PHO , Thai ice tea & the egg rolls but each time it has been awesome. Plus the people are nice it's very clean AND it location is GREAT for people watching it's on the corner with floor to ceiling windows. My new go to place for nourishment. Love this little corner restaurant! Seating limited, plenty on the menu to choose from, and can run a little slow when it's crowded. In addition to the huge fresh vegetable roll for my friend, and my Pad Gai which was awesome: The young lady at the counter is the epitome of customer service and perhaps "do unto others". She says THE nicest things to customers, like "I really hope that you enjoy yourself while you are here" and many thank-you's and just so sweet and friendly. And she got the beverages out fast and was super polite with every encounter. She asked the customers ahead of me for a name to call out (when their takeout order was ready). I did not get the connection, so when she took my dine-in order, I asked if she wanted my name. She explained that she did not need it for dine-in, but she would gladly take it "because it's nice to know people's names". Can't beat that these days! read more

I just ordered from here I love thai food. I ordered shrimp spring rolls and spicy ramen and honestly it wasn't even edible. For some reason everything smelt like fish in a bad way and i think the shrimp was raw, you dont eat raw shrimp. Immediately in the trash, what a waste of $30. read more

Stopped in Placerville for lunch on the way home from Tahoe. Did not expect such good Thai food in a small town. We ordered Tom Kha, Pad Thai, and Panang Curry. Everything tasted great. Seemed like a family run business. It was very clean, the service was great, and the food knocked my socks off. I got the drunken noodles and asked for it 'Thai spicy' and they did it just right. Wonderful to make it here again. Had a craving for pho and they added veggies to it so my wife loved it. I really like the tonkotsu ramen. It's the first time in awhile that I've drank all the soup to the bottom of the bowl. Fried egg rolls were deliciously crispy. Thai boba milk tea was just right. Staff is friendly and efficient. This place is wonderful ! The service is excellent and the food is amazing ! We were passing by town and were looking out for a vegetarian meal. I love this place! I'm new to the area and I was really excited when I found this place. I moved from koreatown Los Angeles where I had all the best Asian cuisines, so I started to get pretty homesick for the food a few months in - until I found this place. I love their Tom yum, and I also love that this place covers a slightly larger scope than just Thai cuisine. They essentially cover everything I love all on their own (with Japanese, Vietnamese, and Korean dishes on top of their classical Thai)! I'm also giving this place 5 starts because the hostess Tessa, is probably the kindest human being I have ever met in my whole life. The dining room is a bit small but it was adequate for our family of five, if you don't have a place to sit, they offer a to go option. We have been ordering take-out from Thai Noodle Express for many years now, even going back to the previous location. The food is extremely consistent. Our favorite is the #23 Chicken Pad Prik Khing, and my wife and I often just get two orders of this plus an order of the crispy egg rolls. It's a perfect, reliable dinner for two. The service is always friendly and efficient, and the staff seems happy to work there. The owner must treat them well. The online ordering system works well with a good estimate of when the food will ready for pickup, and this makes getting take-out that much more convenient. This restaurant is a real gem of Placerville. Highly recommended! read more

So we stopped and ate here because we did not want to go to a sit down restaurant. There were a couple orders before us and we waited about 10 minutes for our to-go food. I had the Drunken Noodles and my son and his gf had the Pad Thai. Mine was pretty darn good! The noodles were not overly cooked even after sitting in the container for a bit, and the flavor was there! Also, the broccoli (not usually in this dish, but it was good) was not mushy, but crisp and fresh. Delish! And then there is the Pad Thai... I don't usually order it because I don't like the sweetness of the dish among other things, but I always taste it just in case. Well this was the best Pad Thai I have ever tasted. Every time I have placed a togo order here it has been messed up. I would say about 6 times in the past two years. Iv order mango sticky rice and I only got rice. Iv ordered shrimp spring rolls and the shrimp was not cooked, gray and slimy . I have gotten orders that are something entirely different from what I asked for. After not going for quite some time because of this, I kinda forgot and let go... I decided to order beef pho last night and when I got home it was chicken, I should have looked before but Just didn't think about it . First off, it is a very small establishment. It seemed very chaotic when we walked in - in the kitchen. It didn't seem very busy. We ordered our food at the counter (no wait service at tables) and everything came out 10 minutes apart - our appetizer last. Our food was cold and the spring rolls weren't even cut in half. Horrible service and you could tell everyone dining in were very frustrated. I'm glad I tried it out - but as locals, we will never return. I hope it gets better for everyone else. read more

DO NOT order here if you don't have an hour to wait for your food, Thai Unique is better quality, close by, and way better customer service. Once we arrived to pick up the front end girl was extremely rude and then proceeded to do everything but my order. We came in on a lunch, and when we wanted to cancel the order because we couldn't wait anymore. At this point the order was placed 40minutes ago and I was met with more attitude, it's not their fault they don't set the pick up times, understood but you could communicate with the customer and/or your food order system that you can't keep up. Girl with glasses just fueled my coworkers anger, she handled it it with more attitude and talking over her instead of trying to solve anything noodle express just yelled louder.
